So I bought a jeep off Chris almost a year ago. Check engine light was off when I picked up the jeep. After 45 mins of driving it the check engine light came on. The car blew blue smoke once in a while when started. This means oil is getting past the piston rings. I had a mechanic friend look at it. He hooked up a computer to it and it said running to rich and another code I forget. His assessment was I needed a new motor. When I told Chris what he said he denied it. 7 months later the motor blew when I went to him and told him what happened he said I never told him it needed a new motor. Despite all this I asked him about a new motor cause I was having a hard time finding a motor with an egr valve. I was going to have him do the work. He told me he'd call me he never called me. I spent almost $6,000 on this jeep and I now have been without a car for 5 and a 1/2 months. I finally was able to bring it to another garage. I put a new motor in it and the car wouldn't start. I used the starter from my old motor. Come to find out I also had Chris put a new starter in my jeep before the motor blew. Chris put a used starter in and charged me for a new one. I replaced the starter and the vehicle started right up. Also my Brothers Mother in law in East Haven bought a jeep off Chris and within 7 moths her motor blew. Her and her Husband are now without a car. I would not recommend Buying a car or going to Chris for anything! This is the second Jeep I bought off Chris. The first Jeep was great so I went back.My problem is with the second Jeep. I will never deal with them again.

bought an older suburban from them after needing a "Mom-mobile" negotiated on price and it is now 3+ years later and she's still running strong. truck was a little rough around the edges but I knew exactly what I was getting. Decent price, big sale point for me was they offered to repair the ripped driver seat before I picked it up, which came out like new and still holding to this day. to the negative reviews people need to lower their expectations of a used older vehicle especially jeeps which seems to be his specialty, you want the best go spend 50K on a new one. wouldn't hesitate to go talk to them again if something they had sparked my interest.

I had a great experience getting my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee repaired. Both Chris and Alison are very knowlgeable about Jeeps, and they are also very professional and friendly, throughout the repairs they kept me informed as to what was being repaired and why and also what the cost would be. My Jeep has 203000 miles on it and I feel like I'm driving a brand new Jeep, My Jeep needed some transmission work and before the repairs I was only getting 11 miles per gallon, I am now getting 16 miles per gallon as it should. The cost for the repairs was very reasonable and worth getting them done to me.Thank you Chris and Alison for helping me and my Jeep.Good Work!

I've bought 2 jeeps from here. First jeep was fine, no issues. The second jeep is just a headache. I've had it about 10 months have had to fix several of their shoddy repairs myself. Currently on the exhaust...the flanges on the catalytic converter are gone and have been welded quite poorly....so now that the tail pipe is rotten at the muffler I have replace from the cat back.

We brought 3 Jeeps from Shoreline over the past few years and they are all running great. We got an excellent price and a lot of help and invaluable expertise. Chris and Alyson have treated us like family and care as much about the vehicles as we do. They are especially helpful to my daughter who got the coolest car of the three, a Classic Cherokee. If you are looking for a dependable used vehicle in a reasonable price range you cannot beat buying a Jeep at Shoreline. I highly recommend them!

I purchased A jeep from here about a month ago. it is a little older and has some miles but it looks great , runs great and was taken care of but it was purchased as is and its understandable when it is older. When I got home i noticed a few drops of coolant under the car. I called Chris the owner , he said bring it back ( could have said its not his problem because i made the decision to buy the car as is. but he didnt ) I brought it back. He replaced what needed to be replaced. The car had to go back today again because when i purchased the car he promised to fix an exhaust leak and I needed the jeep right away. one month later I showed up with the jeep and hes taking care of it. kept his promise. and he had an accessory on one of his jeeps that i liked and he put it on my car. These people were always nice and professional , they return calls and know what they are doing. Id absolutely recommend.

Thank you Chris & Alyson!I ve been on 2 short camping trips so far and have 2 more planned! The 04 Grand Cherokee you recommended is doing an admirable job hauling my vintage trailer, despite the fact that I haven t had the Brake Controller, or whatever that device is called, installed. I m able to stop the rig very well just using the Jeep brakes. How grateful I am that you did both the PADS AND THE ROTORS before turning it over to me.There are some negative reviews here. I am really sad to see this for a number of reasons. First of all, I have bought many used vehicles over the years, and my experience at Shoreline Auto Sales was exceptional. It is obvious that the owners care. The reviewer who sticks out was purchasing a vehicle for their teenager and did not like the idea of getting something more than seven years old. It s OK if your values run to purchasing a new vehicle for a new driver. Other parent s values may involve purchasing something older that has been thoroughly checked out, the way they do at Shoreline. I don t want to live in a disposable society and I would not even have gone to Shoreline if they didn t have any older Jeeps. As someone who has driven and LOVED older Jeeps for many years, while putting very little money into them, I know their value. I also know the value of honest car dealers. Keep on truckin Alyson & Chris! Great family business. I ll be back.

I bought a used Grand Cherokee from Chris and Alyson and it was a very smooth sale. It was after the sale that their customer service stood out for me. I had an issue with the vehicle and Chris and Alyson went above and beyond expected to make things right. I am a very satisfied customer and will recommend Shoreline Auto Sales to anyone in the market for a Jeep. Great sales and service.

I bought a Jeep Liberty from Chris and Alyson for my daughter a couple of weeks ago. The car is perfect, runs great, looks great, and she loves it. Working with the Chris and Alyson at Shoreline Auto Sales was one of the easiest transactions I have done. I was looking for a car for quite a while, and never felt comfortable with the salespeople.. Not so with Chris and Alyson... I felt extremely comfortable and that was the biggest part of why I bought the car here. Thanks for going above and beyond with everything. Extremely happy.

Bent a tie rod on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Went to these Crooks to have it fixed. The part cost no more than $100. Yet my bill was $800. If they over charge me for fixing my Jeep I definitely would not buy one from them. Go to a certified Jeep dealer the cars last longer. 1st of all you didn't give me any paperwork. You did not give me a written estimate at all. And yes I did get my truck fixed there.

Purchased my used 2012 Jeep here about 6 months ago. I had found Shoreline Auto Sales online and decided one weekend just to look around with no expectation to make a purchase that same day. Between Chris s expert knowledge on all of the vehicles on his lot and Aly s friendliness/ organization with filling out all the required documents I couldn t NOT make the purchase. The price was phenomenal and I am pleased that I chose Shoreline Auto Sales. Their Customer Service is reachable and understanding well after you ve driven your new-used-car off the lot.

I have purchased 2 Jeeps from this place. Chris is very knowledgeable and accommodating with Jeeps. Alison is always pleasant and helpful. I had an issue with my recent purchased, and they worked hard resolving it. I will definitely go back for my service needs as well.

I loved my visit and i love my jeep that i bought from them. I had no intention of buying a car that day, i just wanted to look around but i found the perfect Jeep for me. It was a little older, but Chris was very honest and didn't rush me and was not pushy. They offer a warranty, which they don't even have to do, they do it because they believe in the product they sell. i went in about a month later because there was some grinding noise under my left tire, they took a look figured there was something stuck from the snow storm a week prior, and i haven't had an issue with the Jeep since. They always respond to my emails if i have questions and they have always been friendly and professional.

Got news from the mechanic that the car engine was blown and went to Shoreline Auto that afternoon. Most of the vehicles at this business are older, mid to high mileage vehicles, but are very reasonably priced. We were apprehensive about purchasing, but needed a vehicle right away, so took the risk. Test drove the Jeep, looked it over well, talked over a few issues with Eric. Eric made sure the issues were fixed prior to delivering the vehicle. We had no problem with the deposit, or the paperwork for DMV. Had the Jeep for about a month and it is driving very well so far. Giving them a decent rating because the service they provided to us was very good.

Just bought a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport for my 16 year old son here on the honest owner Chris s word. He said this vehicle will run for ever and he hasn t seen one this nice in years. When we picked up the Jeep me and my kids took it for a ride with Chris the owner. The car was making a awful noise every bump we hit. Chris said it was the tires hitting the fender flares, he said because we had to many people in the car and when would you put 5 people in the Jeep. He shaved down the fender flares and the scrapping only happened over big bumps. My son tried to roll down the window but it wouldn t go down , Chris shook the drivers side controls and it worked. Chris said this happens to all Jeeps. When I got home the windows again wouldn t go down and I noticed the doors wouldn t lock either. I politely emailed the dealership and I was sent back a link to to YouTube site on how to fix the problem and was also was graciously provided a web site to purchase the $20 part. The Jeep tires which my mechanic said should have never been able to leave the dealership with were nearly completely bald and the exhaust has a major leak in it as well. I emailed Shoreline back again and have not heard a word. Although the Jeep was not a million dollar piece it was my sons first car. My son was introduced early in life to the used car sales man . One would hope that if you have owned the car for less then 8 hours the dealership would answer questions and be opened to fixing issues. And I will give it to Chris and Alyison they were very nice until they got the sale. They know a ton about Jeeps almost to a fault. They knew the windows didn t work properly and knew just how fix them per my new YouTube video. And the fixes they did make to the Jeep were backyard fixes shaving down the fender flares, then heating them up and bending them. They knew the tires were to big for the vehicle. If you do plan to buy from this place just be prepared to have to fix issues on your own. And for gods sake don t believe a word they say. Man I was a fool.

This review is well over due. I brought my 2003 Jeep cherokee back in April 2019. Yes i t had over 201K for $2999. I was not too sure at first but the price was right for me at that time. My first night out with the truck. I named her Grayce. I had a problem and it scared the mess out of me. Chris and Allyson was great! They helped immediately and the problem was fixed ASAP with no charge. I took the truck to Jeep of Milford and they told me a bunch of stuff to be done. Allyson helped me through the phone with her knowledge of Jeeps and Chris fixed the list of things wrong with Grayce . The Truck runs very well and I'm Happy. I will buy again from Shoreline Auto sales.

I had an 2004 Grand Cherokee with an issue that no one knew what it was. I really thought my car was done for . Till I met Christopher P. along with his Wife. And he knew exactly what the issue was and he resolved it with no issues for a fair price. Thank you for putting my baby back on the road.P.S. They even included a free car wash with the service and I will most definitely be back for a full detail.

Alyson and Chris were great!! Any questions we had, they answered either via email or phone call within within 1 business day, which is scarce these days. I purchased my Jeep in July and have had a couple minor problems that come with USED cars and my response was "bring it right in!!" I would definitely use them again, and plan on purchasing another Jeep from them very soon. I like the fact that no pressure was put on us when we were trying to make a decision and if we didn't see what we wanted Chris said he would look for us and that he did. We drove away happy and that's all that matters to us. Looking forward to buying from Shoreline again!!

This review is long overdue but I finally find myself with some time to sit down and write it!We bought a 2005 Jeep Liberty from Shoreline Auto for our 17 year old daughter. It was a great experience and both Aly and Chris are not only knowledgeable but helpful throughout the process. They even took some extra time with my daughter to show her all of the paperwork and walk her through everything so she learned the process. The purchasing process was easy and seamless, and was a pleasure. What really stands out is the service after the sale. Shortly after purchasing the car, we had a few bumps with the 4wd. Chris immediately fit the car in and fixed the issue, on the house. This was totally not necessary but Chris and Aly took care of everything. In addition, he also educated my daughter on what to do next time, etc. Even further, my daughter denter the door at the start of COVID and Chris and Aly are looking for a replacement door for us.We will only be using Shoreline in the future for all of our Jeeps needs, including my 2015 Jeep Cherokee which had been purchased from a local dealer. Chris and Aly's expertise, professionalism, and kindness is unparalleled. Plus, their prices are completely reasonable and more reasonable than other places. You won't go wrong buying or servicing with them.

I had previously posted a positive review for this dealership. As I do stand by what I stated regarding how nice the owners were with me, that they took their time and were very thorough with every step in making a purchase with them, I do feel an obligation to add to my review at this time. When I purchased a Jeep from them in July of 2015, the driver-side door had some damage on the interior panel. I asked about that, as the damage was on the door handle and I was concerned about the condition it was in and it not working properly. They said they had ordered a new one and would have it replaced before I picked the car up to take home. When the paperwork was finalized and I returned to the dealership to pick up the car, I arrived to find out that they had apparently ordered the wrong door panel. On the car I purchased, the door handle is part of the panel. It is not a separate piece. You have to replace the whole panel to address the issue with the handle. As a result, a promisory note was added on to the purchase agreement that stated they would replace the door panel. It is now a year and two months later, and they still have not replaced the door.I followed up with the Shoreline owners several times regarding this matter. I was informed, every time, that they had looked at some salvage yards and no doors were currently available. I was asked to keep calling them as a reminder. In addition, I was asked to send photos, on more than one occasion, of the interior door that needed replacement. I was always the one calling them. They never called me to follow up on the situation.I have no problem with how something gets done, so long as it gets done. However, it did begin to feel as though the matter was being swept under the rug.By the way, this is not an inexpensive part to replace. If it was, I would have just done it myself from the very beginning.Aside from this issue, my experience with Shoreline was great. However, I will say that this IS a big issue for me. When someone makes a promise to provide a service, especially when it is part of a business transaction, I expect them to honor the agreement. Shoreline has not done so.Since my purchase from Shoreline, I have had several friends that were looking to buy a Jeep. I could not in good conscience recommend Shoreline to them as a result of the lack of follow through on this issue.I have adjusted my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars.

I just bought a 08 Jeep Liberty from here. Not only do I LOVE my JEEP but a few small issues that arose on my Jeep that come with buying a older car were taken care of for a fair price. I recommend Shoreline Autos to anyone looking for a quality used car.

This dealership sells jeeps that are not in good shape! I recently bought a jeep from them which they assured me was in the best shape it could be and yet it stops working 3 days later. It will not start at all, while driving it pulls towards the right and half the lights in and on the jeep aren't wired so they don't work. For what I payed this jeep should be in good shape. These people don't care about the customers they just want your money. Would not recommend at all!! Do not go unless you want to lose thousands of dollars!!!

Bought a 2001 dodge ram 1500 with 1080000 miles on 5/28/13. Took it for a test drive and everything seemed alright there was some cosmetic issues but nothing that i couldn't look past. Eric had promised me that it was one of the cleanest and well maintained trucks that has ever come through his shop and everything is perfect. He promised me that i would have no issues with the truck anytime in the near future, he showed me the car facts and it checked out ok, so stupid me i trusted him. About a month after i started noticing a noise coming from the rear / loss of power. I took it to my trusted mechanic that I've been going to for years and is trusted with my fathers fleet vehicles. I told my guy to just go through the truck and give it a once over since the only people i have trusted has been the word of Shoreline Auto Sales . Turns out that my rear brakes were actually broken! not only that but the truck also needs shocks, suspension, all new ball joints, air box on the throttle body was loose, a new battery because its missing the box and the rubbing on the frame is causing acid to leak. I'm convinced that this truck was never even looked at. within a month i have two safety issues?! on top of all the maintenance that was never done to this truck. Just for the hell of it i called another mechanic buddy i have and had him come take a look and also realized that the master cylinder was leaking....GREAT. I called Eric back and he told me that i should bring it down, when i told them i already had my guy do it he told me there's nothing he can do at this point and wouldn't help me out.(why would i bring this truck back to him...shouldn't they have found these issues the first time around? My guy did, I wasn't about to get fooled twice) coming from a business family i know the importance of making customers happy, but when i asked him to help with some of the bill and make it right he said there was no way, he didn't have the "authority," ( I had some of the work done for 375 he wouldn't go half, he wouldn't give me a cent towards my bill, (as if i got the brakes done for fun) i guess 185 bucks is to much money to keep a customer happy.) and since when does a general manager not have authority to keep customers happy? It was clear that he just wanted to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. Long story short bring your own mechanic when checking out vehicles at Shoreline Auto Sales in Branford. Don't trust what they have to say, unless you want to pay thousands in repairs that they will neglect to tell you, your choice that's just my two cents.

Bought a 2001 Jeep that has been nothing but trouble since the time we bought it. The issues started only a few months after purchasing the vehicle. I had to put an additional $1000 in expenses within 6 months of buying the vehicle. Purchased the car for about $4500, after about a year of owning the car with regular repairs, I contacted the dealership to see if I could sell it back to them even if just for parts. I was offered $500 max for the car. The guys were nice enough when I bought the vehicle but I feel that I was totally sold a hunk of junk. I've replaced more on this car in the 2 years I have owned it than the 9 years I've owned my other used car. I advise everyone that considers purchasing a car here to go somewhere else!

My family and I went out one Saturday morning looking to purchase two cars. We spent the entire day looking at multiple places, but we did not find the correct cars or the BEST people to establish a relationship with. Our last stop was Shoreline Auto Sales. The owners were the BEST. They made the entire process very personable and they had the best selection of cars available at the BEST prices. In no time at all we purchased two cars and developed a long term relationship with two OUTSTANDING people. The cars were outstanding and they stood behind them 100%.If you are in the market for a new or used car...stop by Shoreline first and save yourself all the frustration and anxiety of buying a car. I can not overemphasize how great these people are and the experience was the BEST.

NEWCOMERS, PLEASE READ. DON'T BELIEVE THE NEGATIVITY.I cannot believe all the negative reviews I am reading. My family and I have been customers of Shoreline Auto Sales for the past 2 years or so, purchasing a total of 3 vehicles. One thing you need to keep in mind when purchasing any used vehicle is that they need to be maintained, and repairs are inevitable. They do offer a 3 month/3000 mile warrantee on most (if not all) of their vehicles, which should cover any inconveniences you experience soon after your purchase. Alyson is a pleasure to do business with, and is very thorough with all the paperwork required when purchasing a car. Chris is an excellent, trustworthy mechanic who takes much pride in his work. I bought my first car (2001 jeep cherokee) from them a little over a year ago. Though it's had a few minor issues, its to be expected of a 14 year old vehicle, and they were more than happy to put me in their schedule to have it repaired. Any time you buy a used car, you need to expect it to have problems in the future. Despite popular belief, a used car is not perfect. It is YOUR job to do your research to determine if a vehicle has reliability issues. It is also YOUR responsibility to bring the car to your mechanic to settle any concerns before you purchase. If something goes wrong within the warrantee period and they try their best to help, it's YOUR fault if you decline. And if you have issues with the car after the warrantee is over and you still want to blame the dealership instead of sucking it up and dealing with it, maybe you should have bought a new car. I look forward to doing business with Shoreline Auto Sales in the future, and I encourage anyone reading this to do the same.

My family and I have purchased several vehicles from Shoreline Auto over the past 6 or so years, and we have been getting repairs and tune ups for even longer. We have always left satisfied and smiling with the results of our visits. I highly recommend Shoreline Auto for your repairs, or used car buying needs.

I overpaid for a jeep from them and they were not honest about its condition. Lots of things broke not long after I left their lot. Do your homework on the vehicle in question to avoid a headache.
