This location is absolutely amazing, honest, and honorable, and it strives to help you in the most efficient, respectable, and trustworthy way. I was quoted from 4 other places, and the Excelerate Performance quote was the most reasonable, so I decided to go with them.I was informed of the process and work being done on my car from start to finish and even explained what my vehicle may need. I also had a follow-up call from Craig the next day about how the installation went, and they offered to pick up my old exhaust. I am so happy I chose Excelerate Performance. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an after-market exhaust or other parts installation.

Good:1- I was able to get in quick2- can get in touch with someone easily3- work was done fast (but clearly also a con)Bad:1- ridiculous labor charges!!! Charged me double hours for many things that were being done with another repair that was happening.2- they see only $ and when it comes to the customer they don t really care after you paid. See pics I found after I took home.* one is a freshly cracked sensor harness with exposed wiring. They removed the chain tensioner housing and broke it.* two is a pic of one of the plug wells that they filled with oil, resulting in me having to purchase new plugs and coil packs (not even a hint they would cover that charge or fix this broken sensor connector)!!!3- the only place in CT that will not let you in the waiting room and have a picnic table in the sun or a fold out chair they put outside!Lost my business10/21 EDIT- I called rob as he said in the edit and did absolutely ZERO GOOD!! He did not correct the billing for actual hours it took, he didn t remove or even bother looking at the bill for all the hours they charge double and triple times for. he did not offer to even refund the parts that were mistakenly damaged by the oil in the plug well. He did say he would replace the weather stripping around the wire cable but not worth 45 min drive each way.I did find another damaged fitting that went along with all the stuff they had to remove to do the job. Crack vacuum fitting.These are freshly broken parts and plug wells filled with fresh oil. There is no communication with you and parts you charged for removal on three different occasions. Stay away from this shop this is how they treat customers as they are always wrong just like post below from others.Newest and last:Rob proceeded to text me back and call me unreasonable because I did not want to call him again to have him refuse any ownership of mistakes. So these guys made a few mistakes when working on my car. Small simple mistakes. I was not happy. However, their customer service is top tear. I expressed my concerns with them and had an appointment for the next day. Everybody makes mistakes. Its how you respond afterwards that really matters.These guys stand by their work and were more than happy to help me resolve the issues free of cost.Service: Auto maintenance

XLR8 got my tires in within hours and I was able get them install the next day. Everyone there was super helpful and I want to say thank you to Bobby in particular who installed them on my car. He took great care and nailed the tricky alignment. It took a little longer than expected but once he was done it was spot on! Rides like a dream now. So glad I didn't skimp out and went to one of those local chain tire shop.

I took my S4 to Excelerate after Audi messed up an alignment. Excelerate performed a new alignment in addition to a steering angle calibration and the car is perfect now. Throughout the process the tech routinely reached out to me with updates and was happy to answer any questions I had.The quality of work and the customer service were both stellar. I m pretty far from them (1+ hours) but will be making the drive for any work needed moving forward.

Customer service is great. First thing I had done was an Apr stage 1 tune. After a while I got stage 2 and now today I got the Apr Dsg Tune. One of the guys was very nice and even gave me free stickers and a shirt i will definitely be repping. Really nice people hope to keep doing business with them.

Multiple Problems:I traveled out of my way (120mi round trip twice for drop off & pickup) to XLR8 for a clutch & flywheel install. They had good reviews & I wanted peace of mind with a job this involved. Had no problem sending them $500 deposit for parts days before they had the car. The clutch is really great so three stars but there were other problems...$250 alignment and my steering wheel is off-center. 1o clock position & the car goes straight. I thought they would make good on this but wanted to charge me $60 to fix off-center steering wheel, which is alignment 101. No thanks, I'll go somewhere local & spare the 120mi round trip. I noticed the steering wheel was off as soon as I got on the highway to go home but made the mistake of thinking it was the road or crosswind. I should have called them immediately but it was rush hour & I wanted to get home. Had work that day & the next. Did not want to turn around but I should have, despite I95 rush hour & a new stiff clutch. My mistake for letting it go too long because they don't believe me.My invoice states there is a 12mo / 12,000mi guarantee for work done on OE equipment, apparently they would not honor that 1month later (I have stock suspension).***I understand an alignment can change from hitting one pothole, but given everything, I thought they would make good on the off-centered wheel. Instead, $60. It's a shame this shop wants to lose a customer over $60. Especially after the customer spends nearly $3400 and would have spent thousands more over time.Honestly didn t believe the alignment would be off. Surely a VW / Audi specialist shop can properly align a Golf. The alignment was perfect for the car's first 25k miles, from the day I bought it and even after dropping a tire size. Only an issue after XLR8 worked on it.They offered to fix the alignment if I came back for the Fluidampr pulley that wasn t installed during first visit. What I hear is drop ~$700 more and we ll fix the issue that should be fixed for free.They didn t do all the work I requested:Specifically told them I wanted a Fluidampr pulley several times, both on the phone & in writing. It was never installed. They wanted to book me another appointment to do it. It's too far away to keep going back, which is why I didn't get the steering wheel addressed sooner. Time.Picked up the car 3/25 and on 3/26 drivers side under body trim started dragging on the highway & trim is shredded as a result. The front screw is gone.XLR8 maintains their position that this panel was not touched by them and I likely hit something . But it seems like a big coincidence having just been in for major service. If the car arrived without the bolt, it s surprising no one noticed it while it was up on the lift.Never received any response for photos I sent of damage done to underside of car 1 day after XLR8 had the car for $3380 worth of work. They say their text message system can t receive photos but you'd think the text portion explaining the damage should have gone through.Also, the shop.tekmetrc system they use for quotes / estimates of work is not great. You can only approve or decline work. No way to add a comment if something isn t right.When you text them, you're not speaking to the same person every time. Texts go into a system & whoever is working responds. I think that's why a lot of miscommunications took place. I thought I was speaking to the same person every time.Read the other bad reviews...Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment, Oil change

I contacted Excelerate Performance and worked with Matt when I was looking for some parts for my VW. They took the time to answer all my questions and even gave me some recommendations. They always answered my emails quickly and had great communication the whole time, telling me when everything shipped. I had a great experience and would recommend them to any of my friends.

These guys were great! I live about 40 mins away but its worth the drive to have people who not only know what they are doing but also care about what they're doing work on your car. I trust these guys and will be going to them for anything I cant do in my own garage. Highly recommend.

This shop is so awesome!!! I've been searching for a part for days and not only did Excelerate had one in stock, the nice person that answered the phone made sure to get it out for me today! I didn't know that Xcelerate had a service department when I went to pick up a part for my car. I'm glad that they do! I had a pile of performance parts that I needed to have installed. The Crew at Xcelerate did an amazing job! I went to XLR8 for a Stage 1+ APR tune for my MK6 GTI. They have an awesome waiting room, and their shop is top tier. There was a VW OEM intake manifold defective issue on my car (VW Dealership verified) and Craig and his team were extremely thorough in properly diagnosing the problem. They are extremely precise in their work and informative to their customers. Gave me timely updates on my car. Craig even took time out of his personal life to help me out. Talk about going above and beyond for your customers. I highly recommend to use XLR8. Competitive pricing and excellent work. Anybody who is into the performance game and writing bad reviews because of issues with your car, you shouldn't be in the game. Comes with the cost if you want to play!

This is the second time I have used Excelerate and they are fantastic. Just brought in my Audi for a rattle coming from the drivers side door. They had the car in and out within an hour and fixed the problem. Will always use this shop going forward for their speed and professionalism. Tires desperately needed to be replaced. After calling and leaving messages to over 10 different shops, I was told come on in tomorrow morning and we ll take care of you, even though the business was booked out for a couple days. Honestly the most professional service I ve received. Staff is very courteous, genuine, friendly, and all the above. Definitely going to be posting and recommending XLR8 performance to everyone as well as the car community. I recently had some exhaust work done on my VW at Excelerate. Scheduling and communication was super easy, the folks are really friendly and helpful. The location is easy to get to and the waiting room was great for getting some work done while I waited for my ride. They finished much faster than I expected and everything looks to be top notch. I would definitely recommend them!

My family and I have use Excelerate Performance for many years now, mainly for tire mounting services on our many vehicles ranging from performance cars to pickup trucks. In our experience using them they have been nothing short of excellent every time! The service is always very quality and professional. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable as well. I cannot say enough good things about their customer service and willingness to go the extra mile to help the customer. All in all this is a great place that does a very quality job and genuinely cares about the work they do and the customers experience. Amazing garage you can trust to do an A1 job. I chose this garage to tune my car plus replace a timing chain and new grill. Every job has been carried out to extreme satisfaction. They are competitively priced, use only the highest quality parts and extremely thorough in their work and communication. They also provide a detailed analysis in returning your car and highlight anyhting else you should be aware of. Excelerate Performance is comparable to finding a needle in a haystack! Brought few different Audis s4/s5 s to them for an inspection to even see if it s clean as the buyers wanted us to think. And they went full in detail and saved me thousands on the first car but finding everything. They were highly professional and knowledgeable. Explained everything to me so i could full understand since I m new the German motors. Will always and only take my car there now. TL;DR. You've got a german sports car. You know parts/work is going to be expensive. Do what you can DIY, then bring it here. They do very good work and care about your satisfaction (thank you Craig and Steve!) Also, they literally saved me THOUSANDS with advice and recommendations when I had MAJOR engine trouble and bent over backwards to help me out. For that, I will be forever grateful and they are my new regular shop.Recently went with my new car for some similar APR tuning work and then went back for more of a "switch" back and forth for new flash install and an APR turbo install. They are they key company in connecticut for this work. None better.Some basic work is a little high. But it's a full shop and will offer you the nothing but the best of services. If you know how to turn a wrench, your welcome to and they will be happy to do the rest.They do have great customer service. Very communicative with calls and emails and their invoicing system for work is wonderful. They did cut a deal for labor on the re-installed flash, as I was having a big ticket item installed too, but I had to ask for it. I had an issue the first day and they made time to have me come back and they did a no-charge inspection and test drive.Service: Auto engine tuning

I went to excelerate performance to talk about getting some tuning work done on my car. I was then Put on the schedule for the very next day. Each employee I interacted with was very friendly. I was not the most informed about what the dinan tune does to my car, however they walked me through each step of the work they were going to perform and made sure that I understood exactly what they were going to do to my car. I highly recommend if you are going to get any performance work done to your car that you go here. They will make you feel like you are making the safe choice, which doesn t happen often when you decide to tune a car. They even followed up with me after the work was completed to see how I was enjoying it. All around great customer service!!!Service: Auto engine tuning

Worst experience ever. Craig is unprofessional he gave me 3 different quotes for a repair on my car. He had my car for about 2 month didn t do the research on what tools that were needed he just said yes we can do the job and after waiting for close to two months he says he doesn t have the tools to do this specific job. He wasn t apologetic he just said I can take the car. I was so angry and I would never h there again and definitely not recommend them to anyone.very unprofessional!

I had an awesome experience at Excelerate Performance! I called to inquire about having a cat back exhaust I bought elsewhere installed on my WRX. Craig was friendly and accommodating and they slotted me in the next available opening. The staff were all super helpful whenever I called to ask certain questions or to just talk about the exhaust. It was a small job for them, but they were willing to spend time answering all the questions I had. The exhaust sounds and works great. I will definitely be a return customer!

I ordered a big brake kit for the front and rotors and pads for the rear as well as a sway bar kit and a complete tune-up for my Miata. The parts were installed promptly and work flawlessly. Craig organized the installation and was a big help throughout the whole process. I've been to Excelerate Performance 3 times and have been very happy with the work that's been done. It's nice to know there is a local shop that is reliable and does excellent work.
