My sister and I decided to go to Steamboat Springs but decided to stay in Yampa because it was more affordable. The room was clean, very large, we had a room with two double beds. The town was quaint and the drive-in to Steamboat wasn't bad at all. I liked it because it was a lot cooler in Yampa than in Steamboat. I would definitely rebook this room again next year. The check-in was super easy. Just know that you'll be sharing the parking lot with hard-working construction people. Which wasn't a problem at all. Just make sure that you get to your destination before it gets dark because it does get very dark out there. They have excellent AC system because this year in the mountains was unusually hot. For the most part they're not used to that heat and most people don't have air conditioning. They do have a restaurant and that diner but we usually ate in Steamboat.

No complaints. It was a nice clean and cheap place to stay for the week.

Peace, quiet and dark skies! The only sound in the evening was the breeze. A wonderful change from the noise and light pollution in the Denver Metro. A clean room and a very comfortable bed. The hotel seemed short-staffed (fairly normal now), but all the staff we met were pleasant and helpful. The hotel's diner serves a hearty breakfast. We would stay again.

The rooms are fairly clean, you ll be lucky if u get one with a properly working heater and air conditioner. The chair in my room had the arm completely hanging off. There was food on the cooking utensils from who knows when the back wall and next to the stove is completely covered with grease. It s a total lack of management and training. You re lucky if the Wi-Fi is working any givin day. Do not recommend!Rooms: Well first off the arm of the chair was completely hanging off the chair with a couple exposed nails. Totally broken!Food & drinks: As u can see from the photo, there is food still on the cooking utensil from the last customer. Totally disgusting. If u can even stomach the food here anyway.

I booked a reservation for this hotel. I showed up after a long drive at 11 pm for a confirmed booking only to have an extraordinarily rude woman at the desk tell me that they didn t have any rooms available. When I asked for a card to reach the hotel manager she informed me that it wouldn t do any good in a very condiscending manner. The property isn t really nice enough to suffer this kind of harassment because they overbooked their hotel. I would recommend paying the extra money to stay at a different location.

The room was basic. Smelled old. The bed was comfortable. We were there 3 days and the room was never vacumed. The trash wasn't emptied the whole time we were there . The trash in the lobby was full. And there was a large bag of trash outside that was never thrown out.The only good thing about our stay was the woman working in the diner every evening.Considering this is part of the Wynbham chain we were very disappointed.

My room smells like mold they refused to give me another room because they are full. The key cards didn t work, the door was busted, the heat is finicky, and either full blast, or nothing at all (so you re either overheated or wake up freezing), and then I went to take a shower, and the water was barely lukewarm, and oh yeah, they even hassled me about where I parked . Next day they told me then cleaned it and didn t Not at all worth the price they re charging, should be about 50 bucks a night (I paid 95) given how far away it is from steamboat and how run down the Hotel is but thanks to a bunch of Texans booking up all of Steamboat this was my only choice and I am I here three nights this is a cheap hotel that fills up and gets to overcharge because of proximity to the boat and then blame it on inflation, doesn t mean it s any good.

Probably the newest structure in this very small town that has a dirt street for its main road down the center. The attached diner at times is only open for guests and railroad workers that stay there. We liked that we will stay here again. Has two charging units on the property to charge electric vehicles. Close access to big beautiful wilderness areas

If you driving through the area and need a place to sleep this works. No frills, no front desk, no employees in the hotel, check in at diner next door. The rooms are very, very basic, need updating but clean. Unfortunately no other hotel options in the area and they have you captive!I am sure the owners of this hotel know this and that is why their prices are not exaclty reasonable. What they provide is a safe and clean no frills place to sleep.

Talk about traveling back in time! This 1 night stay for work in Steamboat was surreal. After traveling from Loveland, and through RMNP, and 4 hours later, our destination for the night was this affordable stay 20+ miles outside of Steamboat Springs.Don t be fooled by the $200+ price tag. It s still just a Travelodge. AND You will have go to the Diner to be checked in, and have a 10-20 minute wait until the Attendant finishes making some egg sandwiches for the diners, until they bother to check you in.This is a bare bones Motel, and Ok for a 1 night stay. Pets are welcome, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean, despite trash bags throughout the hallway. The entrance road is an ancient dirt 2 carriage road, with an amazing center line of 1800 s Gas Lights turned into electric lights, and the highlight of this tiny, almost ghost town. I would want 4 wheel drive getting here in the winter. You can t miss the overpriced Travelodge, as it and the Sinclair Gas Station are the only businesses open after 8Pm.If you are desperate for a very late, or very early coffee or breakfast, eat at Pennys diner. A greasy spoon at best and open 24 hours. If your heading to Steamboat in the AM and can wait 20 minutes, hit up Kates Cafe in Oak Creek. Amazing Fresh baked bread and pastries and a solid breakfast burrito and Latte, even if a little pricey. But what isn t pricey in the area?

My fiance and I booked a room through Wyndham for Travel lodge in Yampa, Colorado. We were going to book it online via the wyndham site but bc we had already had a hard time finding a room with vacancy we called the number listed for the hotel. The employee answered and told us there was one room left for 150 something but bc we are gold members and Triple A the cost was $139 - we provided all info to book the room and told him we were on our way (it was about 9:30p.m. when we called). We were in steamboat springs about 30 miles away. Upon arrival at about 10:30p.m. we were told that the hotel is actually -1 room (they were overbooked). After finding there was no other hotels in the area and it was late - we spoke to the front desk employees in the restaurant (Candy & Brandon) and there wasn't much they could do and normally we probably would've been told they couldn't help us and that we would need to call and talk to someone else. But, they didnt do that they knew that we were traveling and could see that we were exhausted. They told us that they had one reservation and the people had not shown up yet to claim their room. Then they gave us the option to wait until midnight and if they were a no-show then the room was ours. While waiting they allowed us to sit in the restaurant and eat (the restaurant was not open to the public at this time). The food was absolutely amazing - Brandon and Candy were great we sat and conversed with them while waiting for our food and to find out of we had a place to sleep or not. At midnight, the people with the reservation were a no show. Thankfully, we were able to book the room. Thanks to the amazing staff for going above and beyond - we do truly appreciate them. Unfortunately, we weren't charged the price promised by the employee on the phone - instead of $139 it was $197. But, we will handle that with wyndham. In the morning, Jennifer was very friendly and allowed us late check out to give us the opportunity to talk to wyndham regarding this stay and multiple others that we feel we were charged incorrectly and/or didn't get the points or free stay as promised and advertised. Thank you to the hotel and the amazing staff but no thank you to Wyndham as a whole. Really leaning towards NEVER staying at a Wyndham hotel again! There shouldn't be situations happening where hotels are overbooked and the rate that you are promised is that rate that should be paid. They shouldn't advertise rewards if they are do not intend to stand by them and/or follow through with such rewards. We are very disappointed this is the second trip in a row where we had an issue with the room we were told we booked and the actual room we booked. We stayed 5 days on our last trip at the same hotel and didnt get the rate promised, points promised or the free nights as advertised. Hopefully management will see this problem and implement some changed with the company. If it wasn't for Brandon, candy and jennifer the choice would have made last night to never stay at another wyndham hotel again. I guess we will base our decision on our experience with wyndham and if they help us resolve our issues with them. Thank you!

Decent for an overnight stay in the middle of nowhere. The place was clean, there was hot water for showers, the heater worked great, and the beds were decent. Unfortunately, the TV received no channels and was essentially useless. Its also true that they do not answer the phone and the check-in desk is just a small corner of their diner counter-space... a bit weird.

Absolute horrid vibes. Pulled in around 8pm. Confused where to park and unsure where to check in. Go to ask the lady running the dinner. And she was very rude and dismissive. And despite being a 24 hour dinner made me and my wife feel unwelcome and like burden. Left confused and with few answers. Decided to keep driving to steamboat springs. So worth the exta drive, unless your literally stuck and your life depends on it, just keep driving.

This place was great! Clean and spacious rooms with numerous amenities such as a microwave and a mini fridge. It's a little odd checking in at the diner next door as they are seemingly affiliated but all in all my stay was great, and so is the diner! Only 30 to 40 minutes away from Steamboat this makes a great alternative to the high price hotels there. I'll definitely be coming back!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I had a reservation booked at least a month in advance and waited one hour for my room once I arrived. The parking lot was virtually empty, and I arrived four hours after check in started. No excuse for that. If this wasn t the only hotel in the vicinity, I would have asked for a refund. Also, they told me it d be 30 minutes and I waited much longer. I m a pretty patient person, but this had me livid! Not worth $75 a night for sure. Spend extra and stay in Oak Creek or Steamboat Springs. Nothing going on in Yampa anyway.

Not thrilled with this place but it's ok. Only hotel I've ever seen where you don't get a comforter on the bed in the dead of winter. Just a sheet and a thin blanket. The gal who checked us in leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to being a pleasant personality! Not very friendly at ALL! Our friends rooms TV didn't work either.

Upon arrival the check in office is separate from the hotel itself as this hotel also offers a 24/7 diner called Penny's dinner. The staff were friendly and inviting and have made good on room accommodations and requests. Room was clean and organized. The hotel does a good job of implementing COVID-19 state mandates and keeping guests safe by cleaning regularly, wearing masks at all times, and proper signage.

We reserved our room 3 months ago and asked if early check in may be available around 2pm instead as normal check in is at 4. We reconfirmed they would be able to accommodate our request 2 days prior to our trip. Check in/out is at the adjoining diner. Upon arrival at 2:30, there were 3 tables occupied, 2 that had been served 1 that appeared to have just ordered. We waited until asked how we could be helped, and was snarled a response if check in ain t til 4!!!! from across the food prep area. I responded with -yes I understand, however we arranged for early check in in advance. Again we received a snarled response by the inconvenience we were imposing. The other lady working was on the phone at that moment, and trying to cook orders. It was apparent she had her hands full with little help or concern by the other team member. We waited to speak with her as the negative gesturing and comments by the first woman did not stop. The second lady was able to assist us, but transparently frustrated by the whole situation of being short handed and busy with getting food for the diner patrons. Needless to say it was a very stressful and embarrassing situation that unfortunately all in the diner had to witness as well. If not for this horrible experience, I d given a better rating as our room was clean and grounds maintained. Despite the early check in request, we are not fussy people by nature. The accommodations met our expectations for a smaller hotel in a small town, and we were shocked by the treatment quite honestly, as our past experience traveling through smaller towns has been so warm and receptive. Unfortunately we heard others talking at the event we attended saying their experience was just as nasty. We won t be returning, despite our original plans to stay here for another event in September. While it s a closer location to our venue, we re looking at alternatives despite the additional 20-30 miles we ll now have to travel.

Not a very good hotel, everything is barebones basic. The ice maker frequently leaks all over the floor smelling up the place. The heat pump units in the room dry the air to the point that it makes your eyes and sinuses uncomfortable. There is a detached diner that serves as the front desk. The diner is overpriced and the food ranges from fair to bad depending on who is cooking.

Great place to stay. Everything is good enough. Do not stay here if your needs are high as this location is more setup for self servers! Overall the diner is very good that is located in the front, also this is where you check in check out. Parking is good. Over all we enjoyed it!

This is the best kept secret when it comes to skiing Steamboat. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms for a great price about a half hour away from the slopes. And the restaurant is open 24/7.

No soap provided. Went out for the day to come back to our room not being cleaned. So I called the front desk three times to get no answer all three times after allowing the phone to ring 10 times. Very frustrating. I know it is a small town but really should be better service then this.

Called the office, front desk lady said she was making eggs and didn't have time to schedule me. At least she told me to 'have a nice day' before hanging up on me. I do a lot of work in smaller Colorado towns. This was a first for me.
