We stayed here for a weeklong ski vacation that we booked at the last minute. We typically rent a condo when we come out west to ski, but it was spring break and everything left was very expensive, so we went with this motel. We loved our stay! Our room was huge and immaculate. It had a convenient kitchenette (no oven) that was equipped for cooking simple meals. The hot tub is excellent and very clean. Breakfast is simple but gets the job done. Location cannot be beat across the street from the free shuttle up to the resort and walking distance to everything in town.We would happily stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. First and foremost, it was very CLEAN! That is the most important thing when it comes to hotels for me.I liked how the bathroom was separate of the wash, and there was a nice amount of amenities as far as in room conveniences go. Microwave, fridge, coffee maker, etc. the decor in the room gave me a ski lodge feel, which I really liked. The breakfast was not huge, but it was well thought out and of good quality. A very unique and lovely stop along our journey. I couldn t have been more appreciative. You can tell the owner truly cares about their guests.

This was my first time visiting Winter Park, Colorado on a skiing vacation with my two teenage boys. I stayed at this hotel on a recommendation of a veteran ski traveler. Joe, the man behind the phone, has been incredible from the start. So kind, thoughtful generous always willing to help. The rooms are comfortable, the location is very close to skiing, dining, not far from a grocery store, coffee, shops, everything you need! Incredible views of the surrounding Colorado mountains, with an incredible old style wooden hot tub on the deck, which felt was incredible while it was snowing. Will definitely stay here again! Thank you Joe for everything!

Bizarre, moldy, outdated place with weird, unprofessional staff. Don t believe the photos: they merely show a fresh coat of paint, and not the old, filthy carpet and shoddy construction. The light switch in the bathroom is one of those old click-click-click dial timers. Bed spreads look like they have never been washed, no less washed frequently. Had I not prepaid for a non-refundable reservation, I would have walked out.The property manager seemed like some bizarre character out of a Truman Capote novel. He also asked probing, illegal questions about my service dog, asking if it was really a service dog or just one of those phony emotional support pets. As a hotel proprietor, he should know that federal law prohibits hotel proprietors (or any establishment open to the public) from asking harassing questions like that once a patron identifies a dog as a service dog, which treats people with service animals as second-class citizens. (I travel with my dog frequently, and every single hotel manager and receptionist knows they are not allowed to do so.). When I told him the law and that I did not appreciate his questions or his suggestions that I was lying about my disability, he did not apologize or back down, but instead flippantly said, welllllll, I don t appreciate you being rude to me. Then, after we checked in and went to our room, he barged into our locked room, without knocking, while my 12-year old son was undressing to take a shower, to demand that we cover the bed with sheets! (Which is also prohibited by federal law.). I have never, ever had a hotel manager burst into my room without even knocking.

Convenient location right on the edge of Winter Park, making it easy to walk from one end of town to the other...if that is on the agenda. The gentleman on staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very nice (suite). Along with being clean, the bed was comfortable, and the AC unit made the room temperature comfortable! There was a hot tub, which I enjoyed...and a continental breakfast in the AM. Great value for the price!

The Valley Hi was a pleasant surprise! We just need a place to stay for one after a wedding so as not have to drive back to Denver late at night. We weren't expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. The owner checked us in in the afternoon. It seems he does most everything at the establishment and takes pride in it. We thought we were going to have our dog with us but made other arrangements for him and didn't bring him. The owner removed the extra charge for pet no questions asked. The room was quite large, clean, comfortable and included a fridge, microwave and small coffee maker. The hot tub was nice as well. The unexpected surprise was a table set up in the morning with an assortment of muffins, do-nuts, Cereal, milk and coffee. We thought we'd have to spend time and money for breakfast but the goodies were sufficient to make the drive home.

This place is great! We arrived at approximately 10:30 p.m. and were greeted at the front desk by a man that I believe to be the owner. If he isn't the owner he sure takes a lot of pride in this place. They have replaced all kinds of things new decking around the front are if on the front our room had new sheets new pillows the bathroom was nice. Is this place is definitely a Is great place to stay great price...

Our host was very nice and helpful. Hotel is a different style than many others. Much bigger rooms than most but hotel lobby is front desk only and very small. Small/basic breakfast is held in lower hallway. Views out windows were nice. Construction next door but never heard any of it through walls. Hot tub was open which was nice (not closed due to COVID). Access to it through downstairs hallway door. Overall great price, location, and cleanliness.

It was wonderful! Joe was the best He was very knowledgeable of what was happening in the surrounding area. We were on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park & he informed us that it was pretty much by reservation only, good call. It was booked until 9/8. The room was large & very nice & clean. Enjoyed the hot tub along with a beautiful full moon. Winter Park is a cool place & I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Joe for your great hospitality

This was perfect for my needs. Right off the main road in Winter Park. Convenient to everything and the shuttle is less than 50 yards away. I was Riding the Rockies (bicycle ride) and came into town sooner than anticipated, the owner/manager at the Motel accommodated me immediately. Old school Colorado Hospitality!! The rooms are neat (big) and comfortable. Great value!

Clean roadside motel. Nothing fancy but great location. Nice to have a coffee maker in the room along with fridge & microwave. It's time to modernize the hot tub. Mattresses are soft. Good local knowledge if asked.

Great location and nice rooms- very clean and spacious. They were very welcoming to our dogs too. There are a few issues you d expect in an older hotel- loose outlets and low shower heads but for the price these are not serious issues. The manager was very friendly and addressed any issues we had very quickly. The breakfast is all carbs but there is also a fridge in the room if you want more variety. The coffee served with the breakfast was great. We loved the short walk to so many restaurants and the Fraser River trail going right by the hotel which was great for walking our dogs. All this and an easy 5 minute drive to ski at Winter Park make Valley Hi an excellent economical hotel.

Very friendly staff. Large rooms. Rooms were very clean, although we smelled marijuana intermittently thought the day. Not sure if that was coming from the hotel residents, ite some other nearby establishment. They had a barrel style hot tub that we thoroughly enjoyed. Walking distance from many restaurants and shops. Highly recommended.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay! It is a 2 star hotel with a 5 star rating in its class. You can tell the guy that runs it takes pride in his place - it's super clean and has a lot of mountain town character. He's also just a super nice guy. Beds were pretty comfy. Quick walk to restaraunts. Even had a cute little breakfast spread with oj, coffee and muffins. It was just really cute. I'm pretty picky about hotels- I'd stay here over like a Homewood Suites or any of that kind.

I just stayed at another hotel that thought of itself as a resort. That other place was less than 15 miles away and had no food or AC. this has it all.But let's talk about what is important. When you check in here there is a good chance you will be talking to the owner. This is the guy that cares. There is no price you can put on having an owner involved day to day. The place is well maintained. The beds are comfortable. And you are in the heart of Winter Park!

Valley Hi Motel was the perfect place to spend a few days during our road trip through Colorado. The owner is so helpful and accommodating! Very clean, spacious, & comfortable rooms, walking distance to restaurants and breweries, a hot tub on the back deck with mountain views, close to hiking trails, and a delicious complimentary breakfast with pastries & muffins from a local bakery (far better than your typical hotel breakfast)!
