I trust these guys with my families vehicles which is saying a lot for me. They also fixed a door on my work truck free of charge while the truck was in for repair. I couldn t be happier with this business.

Took my Jeep in because a cheap oil change spot was pressuring me to replace a tire part ASAP. But I didn't understand why as nothing seemed wrong. Scheduled an appointment here, checked out my car for any problems, & they found nothing. And they didn't even charge me! Appreciated their help & will definitely be back whenever any issues arise.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Auto maintenance

They did a great job on my clutch since it was going out and it now drives just like new. I had one issue however while attempting my ride home and the check engine light came on. I called them immediately since I was close by. I got told to bring it back in order to figure out the code. They looked at it then corrected the issue. My attempt 2nd home it drove and idled wonderfully. I will say they were great at communicating and quick. I got it back within a week or so. Merkyl's did my timing belt in the past as well no complaints there.

They went out of their way to contact the manufacturer of the aftermarket ball joints on my vehicle. They found out that the parts were within tolerance and did not need to be replaced. This saved me over $800. They've also helped me out in the past with an issue other mechanics were unable to solve.

I took my 20 year old Blazer in with a hard to start problem. They said my fuel pump was weak and needed to be replaced. They gave me a fair price(I checked other shops prices) and told me it would be ready on Friday and it was.I will use them again.I took the Blazer in again (3/7/23) for a no heat problem and was expecting the worst with a now 21 year old vehicle and was pleasantly surprised that it was just a clogged heater core that was fixed with a back flush done in one day.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Well I can't really say I know how they are. I called to make an appointment to fix my van but I don't have the money. They wanted 3 grand to do the transmission !!! I thought that was high and that was for a used one. I may have to sell my van for parts at this point. But the guy on the phone was nice

Great shop. One of the big chain autoshops told me that my struts were blown and I had a $3000 repair bill. Took the truck to Merkl's for a second opinion and they told me that my entire suspension system is in fine shape. Great people and honest assessments.

Stopped by for an alignment and was surprised by the lack of interest in providing the service. The gentleman behind the counter did not offer a greeting, informed us that he has a car on the alignment rack for a couple days, and failed to offer the service or schedule a later date. We thanked him and said goodbye to no response. Business must be good due to the lack of customer service. We were quickly accommodated by the Big O just down the street.

Merkel's was highly recommended by my other mechanic. He was unable to help me with my problems. Our heater was not working consistently. We thought it was the Actulator blender door. So we were expecting to spend a lot on the labor and repairs. I live across town from Merkles so I dropped off my vehicle and took a Lift to work. They called me to let me know the car was repaired a few hours later. Not only did I pay $150. 00 less than they quoted, we were not charged for the diagnostic test to determine the real issue. We are very satisfied with how fairly we were treated that we will continue to go back for all our maintenance and repair needs in the future. I highly recommend this company!Services: General repairs & maintenance, A/C installation & repair

My car broke down and it was towed to Merkl's. They were ready to fix it, I needed a battery change. It was ready within a day. The gentlemen at the desk when I came to pick up my car were kind and helpful. I think I will be making Merkl's my go to Mechanic for now on.

Was charged eighty dollars more for a repair than quoted. Bank charged me an overdraft fee since the funds I made available from savings for the repair weren't enough costing me an additional hundred dollars. Merkel's wouldnt consider any compensation.

I was driving east on 44th this morning (with a van full of kids) one of you employees, in a company truck, pulls out of your parking lot and went across 3 lanes of traffic got in front of me and brake checked me. Then proceeded to travel below the speed limit.I have video proof and have given it to the police.Thank you and have a good day.

Bought a jeep Cherokee, and was having issue after issue with not being able to get it to pass emissions... had a bad mechanic work on it prior to taking into Merkel's(my fault) at first I thought I could trust these guys... for some reason they had a semi ok review on Google. I tell Mark that I can't pass emissions, and that I had my exhaust manifold replaced by another mechanic, and I'm pretty sure it didn't go well. I was quoted for a 106 dollars diagnostic... I received a phone call at work, and mark told me that it was the exhaust manifold, and if they had to replace the manifold it would COST 1300 dollars. Then I asked him if he was sure it was the manifold, he said that he could hear that it was leaking(sweet 106 dollar diagnoses) then when I asked if he saw a crack or exactly what was leaking... he told me that it would be 300 dollars for him to take everything apart to check and see what the problem was... So 100 dollars turns into 300 dollars...then turns to 400 dollars(just to see what the problem is) wow!!!!!! I then asked if I could just take everything off: cold air intake, air intake box, take off the spacer, then mark the spark plugs for the right sequence, then take off a couple of brackets, then take off the air intake manifold.(300 dollars) Mark said, "No, not down here) I said that I just live down the road, and that I would could get it down there... same answer, No. At this point I told him not to do ANY work on my jeep. He said, let me get things ready and I'll call you back.(I was assuming he was talking about the 106 dollar diagnoses... I get a call back, and Mark said, hey there is a guy down here that says he is familiar with your engine, and would be ok with you taking it apart and bringing it back down. I decided it would be best to not go back to Merkel's auto to have my jeep worked on... this is frustrating, I can't pass emissions, I can't get my jeep tagged, and I apparently I am prey in a world of ass hole mechanics. I can do it myself... just thought you guys wouldn't mind making some money, and I'm not talkin rape ya ass heads

Took my 2005 Nissan Maxima in to have diagnostics done to figure out the electrical problem I was havng. I was already aware of problems with my tranny and needed to get the electricial aspect fixed prior to dealing with my transmission. I explained all this to Bob Friday when I brought my car in I was told it would be 200$ to diagnose the electrical problem because it required 2 hours and was tedious work. I was ok with that since I'd called several other shops quoting the same. Monday I got a call from Bob telling me I needed a new transmission a fact I already knew. They did not look in to the electrical problem I was trying to have diagnosed and were just hell bent on trying to sell me on the tranny. So in the end i wasted 100$ to be told problems with my car I was already aware of. They didn't even look in to the problem I took the car in for and to top it off had a smug condescending attitude. DONT TAKE CAR HERE

I was pretty sure that my mass air flow sensor was faulty because I had gone through that with another vehicle and symptoms were identical. Took my xterra to Merkl's because I didn't have the time to deal with it and I needed the vehicle repaired quickly. I told them what I thought the problem was. They called me and said they were pretty sure that the problem was the distributor. On my supercharged xterra- that was a very pricey tune up. I asked them how sure they were, and after a little back and forth, I said "well- you're the mechanic. They called me back after the tune up and said it didn't fix the problem, and so THEN they tested the mass air flow sensor and found it needed to be replaced. A very expensive part also. New MAF sensor and problem solved. Unbelievable. I told them what the problem was and they ignored me completely. They cut me a small break on the labor, but never apologized. Cost me a ton of $$. I am still pretty angry about it, and I'm generally a positive guy. I don't like being treated in that condescending manner, especially when they should have been apologizing. I guess they didn't want to admit fault for legal reasons?
