Really appreciated that Doug took the time to take apart my son s car after something wasn t working with the USB ! He couldn t exactly find it, and did not even charge for the time that he took to do this, which I feel kind of badly about! A great person though - I would DEF recommend this business. Thank you so much !! Appreciate the time you took to try !!

Doug does simply put a great job. He has rebuilt from a generator in a ,57 Olds to starter for my 92 Cadillac. I highly recommend his business. Great work fair price. Thanks

This shop is AMAZING!! I have an old 64 1/2 Mustang and attempted multiple times to find a replacement generator for it. I couldn t find anyone in Colorado Springs that had experience with generators. So glad a fellow Mustang friend recommended this shop. As soon as I walked in I KNEW he understood me. Alternators and generators line the walls. I had ordered a generator twice from BNR parts and both times the configuration was wrong. This shop replaced the incorrect faceplate on the generator and replaced the incorrect fan blades, which I didn t know was bigger than the 64 1/2 Mustang s blades. He had all the parts for the front housing in shop, and I told him to keep the other parts. Incredible turnaround time too! 2 hours!! He also has a mechanic shop in the back for all of your other automotive needs - motor, electrical, framing, etc. Very feasibly priced and superb customer service. My new go to shop. Cash or check only $

Places like this don't exist anymore. Doug was great. He was able to quickly turn around an alternator rebuild for a JDM market vehicle where new isn't an option. He also took the time to show and explain the process as well as answering all of my questions. I would highly recommend him!

Dropped off my Custom Alternator (its for an old Ambulance so I can't get a new one that fits the same anymore) for repair. They tested it out and are going to look at a few things for me. All around impressed at the questions, about diagnosing and use, and care they have already shown me. Very glad to have chosen this place for my needs.

Doug is one of a kind. Unbelievably helpful with both educating and repairing super obscure 190SL generator. Diagnosed a 'newly rebuilt' generator that had been shipped across the country for repair (should have brought it to him, but didn't know of D&D). Also helped me sort wiring logic on a regulator swap. Best automobile-related experience in years.Service: Electrical repair

Can't find guys like him around - rare bus alternator they don't make anymore, he couldn't fix it but he tried all day and is really nice. We are going to problem solve to find solution! Most people don't give you that much attention who are that busy.

Doug is a wizard. Absolutely gorgeous rebuilds, he's done four alternators for my partner and I over the years and I dropped my starter with him this week. Also just a genuinely nice guy. It's a total pleasure doing business here.

Doug knows his stuff! I didn't want to pay dealer prices or buy the imported garbage that advanced auto and the like consider "automotive-grade electric" and is guaranteed to leave you stranded if you even think of putting another 20k on the odometer. My rebuilt alternator works great!

Been coming here for a couple decades to have numerous vehicle's alternators rebuilt. I know he can't keep working forever, but I wish he would. He was able to get my alternator rebuilt in one day which really helped with the downtime of my vehicle. Total cost was about a third of buying a new alternator. Hard to find places and people like this anymore.

D and D is hands down the best auto electric shop in the area. Doug has knowledge and experience on all things related to auto electronics, and his prices are always more than fair. I've taken various parts to him for repair or rebuild over the years. From daily drivers to project cars to race applications, he can handle it. Definitely recommend.

Took the starter for our skid steer to be repaired, charged us over $100.+ (had a previous repair at over $100. ) Doug said the plastic gears were melted (impossible)so he replaced them, at the time we dropped it off the shaft ( which Doug noticed)that engages to start was not working properly. Picked up starter, Starter only started the skid steer once, called and Doug said bring it back in the morning.After dropping it off and picking it up again it started the skid steer twice. This time it sheered teeth off the spline gear that engages it to start, we called and formed him what happened, said we were going to get another starter, Doug said he would refund what we had paid for repair, over $250.Called this morning saying we are the ones who brought the starter from our skid steer in.CLICK he hung the phone up on us. DO NOT USE this place completely Incompetent , Unknowable and Untrustworthy.! We live clear up in Blackhawk so lots of lost driving time also.Service: Electrical

I live 30 minutes away (1 hour with traffic) and I had an alternator that was not working. Took it in to Doug and as soon as I set it in the table he took it to get it tested, let me know it wasn t working. Turned out it was only dirty and he had cleaned it and charged me very cheap. Doug is a pleasure to work with and took the time to explain his diagnosis of my problem alternator. This was the second rebuild on it (the regulator installed during the first rebuild by another shop did not work), and Doug took the time to get it right. Doug was great! Came up with his differential dx quickly & finished replacing a good section of corroded cable in just an hour. Overall was a huge help and got my daily driver back on the road for a good price.

Took my 20yr old Motorcraft alternator there to be tested, turned out it was bad. You can t buy this model anymore, D&D rebuilt it for less than I could buy one a cheap one from Oreilly s for. Great service from an old school shop that you just don t see anymore. Will be using them for all of my auto electric needs

I've got a very serious but hard to pinpoint electrical issue with my car that the dealer has giving up on. Called D&D (my first choice for an independent electrical repair) and was able to spend over 20 minutes on the phone with the owner listening and providing feedback on the issue before he ultimately referred me to another shop which might be better equipped to do the diagnosis. That's a level of integrity we rarely see anymore even at the independent shop level. Very much appreciated, and thank you D&D!

Doug at D&D was extremely helpful. The windows on my car weren't working and Doug tweaked some wires and breakers on the circuit board. He handled the issue in under an hour. I got back on the road and the windows suddenly stopped working. Drove back to D&D and Doug dropped what he was doing and took care of the issue in less than 5 minutes.Great customer service, strongly recommend D&D for any electrical auto issues.

The owner is a super smart mechanic. We have an electrical problem that a lot of mechanics tried to fix without success. We went there and in less than half hour he was able to resolve the problem. He also gave a diagnostic and recommendations to prevent future problems. We are on a road trip from New York to California and we were able to continue our trip thanks to the mechanic. Nothing but love for this business! I have honestly never been to a business like this. They care about their customers, and most of all they are honest. I do most of the work on my vehicle myself, however when there's an issue beyond my skill set, this is one of 2 shops I can truly trust! I must say, that somewhere in the shops DNA, there's probably roots to Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison!Service: Electrical

Friday afternoon before a trip on Saturday I discovered an electrical issue with my truck. There was no availability in the shop but Doug took the time over the phone to run through every scenario and we were able to fix the problem without needing to get the vehicle into the shop and delay our vacation. This is the type of caring and customer service that is becoming more and more rare these days.
