Had a full transmission replacement here. Stan and the team were honest, quick, and efficient. They did their due diligence and gave me multiple options of transmissions to get at different prices, and when my car was in the shop they were always able to keep me updated on the progress. The repair was done quickly and my car has been going smoothly since. Would highly recommend this place.

My elderly mother took her vehicle in trusting this company to take care of her. After they took advantage of her charging over $1500 to fix an engine leak mind you, not the transmission leak she took it in for. She is now being told by the manager Stan that the reason her transmission is severely leaking and over filled after being in his shop is now her problem and to be fixed on her dime! This is 300 miles later!!! Don t give this awful company your money, save your loved ones the money and the hassle of being taken advantage of. What a sad sad experience.

Called for a quote on a transmission said he was cheaper then the dealer but not even close dealer price was same quote as this place I advised him of this his answer was ok I told him thanks he never tried to get my business or get me to come in with a better price so don t bother there price is the exact same as the dealer

Excellent experience with Stan! We were in a tough spot after breaking down on a road trip, and he was able to help us out with our radiator and thermostat. All around excellent service and extremely kind, honest, and helpful people. We recommend this location!

Guys and gals at cotton transmission were very helpful. They spent over an hour just checking out my truck. And gave me a printout of everything they noticed that needed attention. I appreciate all their work they are very professional

Stan and the guys at Cottman are the absolute best. I did an axle replacement on my 2009 Nissan Marano, and some of the transfer case fluid leaked out. I was unable to get the fill cap open to replace the fluid so I took it in to Stan. They got the Open, filled the missing fluid, diagnosed a couple of other problems that I need to work on And then would not let me pay!Wow, that is great customer service, and I encourage anyone to support this friendly and helpful local business. Cottman Transmission is an unbelievably honest and much needed organization in an industry that has its shares of bad apples. These guys were easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Stan's guys took a look at my vehicle that needed to have rear diff replaced, and then informed me that it may still be under the 70k power/drivetrain warranty. When i check and realized that it was still under warranty (65k miles) and that i had to bring it to the dealership for warranty work - i offered Stan money to pay for his employee's time to do the diagnostic. He refused, and just asked me to bring the car back in if it didn't work out at the dealership. No doubt, i definitely will! Great crew and solid company!Service: Transmission replacement

Had a 2nd transmission rebuilt with this shop on a Dodge Cummins! They completely stood by their warranty & replaced a solinoid issue.... No charge. Thank you Stan....another shop wanted to charge us $1400!

Thank goodness we got off at this exit when our car broke down! If I could say one thing about Cottman it would be top knotch customer service. Lisa, Manny, and David were all extremely professional, efficient, knowledgable and kind. They even stayed open 20 minutes late so we could get our car before the weekend. Stan at Cottman Transmission has been a blessing in disguise. From being super supportive in documentation of damages for legal purposes to providing fast and quality care and services he has been responsive and engaging answering all my questions and responding back to phone calls or emails in a timely manner. Stan has been very open and honest regarding issues to my vehicle and his recommendations of how to best get the issues fixed . I have had some very rough and shady encounters with a previous transmission shop taking me for a ride and I'm so relieved to find a truly caring and honest mechanic and shop to take my vehicle to. Cottman Transmission is the BEST! After being repeatedly ignored for over a week by 2 Ford dealerships (1 being where I bought the car)to get the shift cables replaced in my 2016 Focus, I called Cottman. Stan was absolutely awesome! He took the time to listen and understand what was going on with my car and what I believed was wrong after my Dad had looked at it. He agreed that the shift cables (one or both) had broken and assured me that if I was to have the work done with them they would inspect it thoroughly at no additional charge to make sure that was the only issue. He quoted a reasonable price and ordered the part. My Dad dropped my car off this morning and was promptly and professionally greeted and by the time I got there to pick him up they had my car up and were busy working away on it. Stan even showed us the broken cable that they had already pulled out. They finished the work in a very timely fashion and called me to pick it up, again we were treated very professionally and politely when we arrived. The price was right on point with the estimate and Stan went over what was checked and assured me that everything was properly functioning. My car is now driving just like it had when I first bought it. I am so glad that we chose Cottman for this repair. I would highly recommend them for any service needs on any vehicle. It's refreshing to see a local business with standards not only for the work done but for how they treat people. Thank you so much Stan and the rest of the Cottman staff for being amazing at what you do!

Reliable, honest service. Dropped off my car for a diagnostic. They ran the tests and let me know that my transmission was in good shape and there was no need for servicing or fluid exchange. I m grateful they didn t try to rip me off, but told me the truth. Adding to that, they didn t have a fee for the diagnostic! Plan ahead, this is a busy shop. But a good shop like this should be busy!

WOW!! I couldn t drive home fast enough wanting to leave this review. THESE FOLKS ARE AWESOME!! I walked in after being told my transmission had a hole in it . Turns out a dust cover was missing. Immediately they went to the rear of the store and returned with the necessary part and installed it in a matter of minutes. Unbelievably THERE WAS NO CHARGE FOR EITHER THE PART OR LABOR! This is simply people helping people which is harder and harder to find. THEY HAVE MY BUSINESS SHOULD A FUTURE NEED ARISE!

Took my little Honda in because the headlights are really dim and the brights aren t working. I spoke with Stan about how we needed the car by noon and he said that it should be no problem to at least get diagnosis for the problem by that time. Fast forward to 12:00pm, the car is still torn apart and the mechanic is taking an hour long lunch. Much more could be said but they basically took $300 of mine for me to leave my car at their shop for 5 hours. I was not given any info about what the problem might be and neither Stan nor the mechanic were available when I went in at 14:00 to pick up the car.Edit: Andy the owner wrote me and expressed concern about my needs not being met. I returned his email with the precise details and he was thankful for that. He spoke to seeing a break down in communication and appreciated the feedback. He offered a refund for half the cost of the bill. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure I felt like I was taken care of and my concerns were addressed.Service: Electrical

Normally I don't leave reviews for places like this, but I was so impressed with the professionalism and integrity from Cottman in Wheat Ridge that I had to share. Scott is very knowledgeable and willing to assist with any questions/concerns you might have. I needed a transmission replacement in my Suburban and it was nothing short of an excellent experience. The turnaround was quick and I wasn't hit with a bunch of other stuff that was tacked on to my original quote. He even brought me back into the garage so that I could check out what they were looking at on my vehicle. Scott knows the true value of customer service, and I would highly recommend giving him a call before anyone else!

I had my 2013 Chevy impala Transmission diagnosed within 2 hours of them opening.They are wonderful people with great customer service. My car was there for nearly 3 weeks, but that was not there fault. My warranty company took forever to get back to them. They were more than happy to answer any of my questions. I recommend everyone to go here if they wish to have a wonderful experience. These people are beyond amazing.

My husbands car broke down on his way to work, the car wasn t able to go forward or backwards luckily Cottman transmission was not far from were the car left him. They were able to diagnose and figure it wasn t the transmission at all but another problem that we were aware of an just got bigger. They were totally able to handle it and got the car going in the same day. Overall I m really happy with their honesty and the price was very fair compared to wat other mechanics quoted us. We are very happy with their service the staff was so nice HONEST (it s so hard to find places that tell the truth) we will definitely be going back if needed.

I brought my car in a week ago, because I had no reverse. Scott quickly diagnosed and got me scheduled to have the trans rebuilt. After dropping it off the next morning, I was extremely happy to hear it was ready, that same afternoon. My car performs great. These guys are friendly, professional, easy to talk to(they answered all my questions), just awesome. Can't say enough about the experience and service. Thanks

Cannot praise this place enough! Stan was very polite and professional dealing with my car's issues. He ran a complementary diagnostics test and helped me figure out the root of my car's problems. Stan took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my car on a level that I could understand. (that's huge considering I don't know anything the happens under the hood!) The staff were all polite and friendly. They even gave my dog a bowl of water and offered me refreshments while I waited. The costs and procedures were explained BEFORE anything was done to my car. This was probably the most painless experience I've ever had at an auto shop. I highly recommend trusting these guys with your vehicle.

Scott and his crew are top notch. They do top quality work they stand behind. They accomodated me in a tough situation and worked hard to get me back on the road. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm glad I decided to go to them for transmission work. Reasonably priced, top quality work, and nice people. Would definitely recommend and return if needed.

The best experience I've had with an automotive repair business. The group was honest and would not do any repair without checking with me first. I was more than satisfied with the work and felt the price was very fair. I plan on bringing all my vehicles to these folks.You can't go wrong with Cottman.

Scott and his team at Cottman did a great job, during a very busy time, to diagnose my transmission troubles and get my car back to me in the same day! I had a bad leak which they solved very quickly, without unnecessary charges or holding the dreaded "$2000 rebuild" over my head. Scott was very professional, pleasant, and honest with me which I appreciate above all else. I would and have recommended their shop to others in Golden and will continue to do so. I took my VW to a dealer to get my AC compressor and ignition switch replaced. The PRNDS shift indicator was flashing after I picked it up. It was *not* flashing before I dropped it off. The VW dealer said I needed a new transmission which was going to be about $6800. Forget that. I took it to Stan at Cottman Transmission. He confirmed the transmission is fine but found an error code that says the ignition switch was not talking to the shift position sensor. I didn't even tell Stan that the dealer replaced the ignition switch until he brought up the error code. He said I should take it back to the dealer since it was their install, which I did. The dealer said Stan was right and they fixed my VW and even reimbursed me for what I paid Stan for his time. Stan sure saved me a lot of money! Thanks, Stan!Service: Transmission

Brought my Honda in thinking my transmission was in big trouble because the dashboard warning lights were going off and Scott and his team at Cottman of Wheat Ridge found the problem to be chewed through wires outside of the transmission (probably that rabbit I saw running from beneath the car the night the warning lights started flashing). They were very honest, fixed it promptly and my bill was a couple of hundred dollars, rather than the thousands I had feared going in. So glad I didn't take it to the dealer. I would recommend them to anyone who thinks their transmission is having problems or just needs some regular service. So glad I found a trustworthy place to bring my car.

Having issues with my truck. We live out of state and are pulling our trailer. Stan was able to take the time for a test drive with trailer in tow. Gave the transmission a work out and answered all of my questions about driving with the Allison Transmission. He gave it a pass and a few suggestions for the future upgrade.So without hesitation, he suggested another performance shop that could help me with my issue.Thanks Stan, Customer service at its finest.

A few weeks ago my granddaughter was looking to purchase a Dodge Ram 1500 V8 truck. I took the truck to Cottman on ward road. He put in on the rack and check everything, I was surprised at how thorough he was. Also he check for any code errors. He stated the truck was in great shape. Of Course my granddaughter was very happy. The fee he charged was very reasonable. Thanks again Steve for a great Job.

Saying these guys are incredible, nice, patient, amazing people is a huge understatement and I wish I could give more than a 5 star review. They will work with you to make sure you get what you need done in a damn good timeframe and they're not just there to take money from people, they are there to make sure you get your car working and will do just about anything to get it done. I have never met poeple as amazing as these guys. Stan and Lisa were extremely patient with me no matter how many times a day I called to check on my truck. I will only take my truck to these people, no matter the cost or how long it takes for the repair, these are the only people that will see my business. Stan is truly the man!
