Make sure you get a quote in writing. Quoted me $305 over the phone to have two tires replaced. Charged me $655. More than double. When I pointed out the discrepancy I was told "I said $305 per tire, bud, that's on you." Absolutely zero remorse or understanding. I can say with 100% confidence he never mentioned per tire. Not only that but I specifically said "$305 out the door sounds good to me." and there was no attempt at clarification. When I asked why there was such a difference and if they could adjust the price due to the miscommunication Noah simply said "Look, I'm only making $120 on this fix."I told them I would have called around to other shops if Noah had told me the actual price, to which he replied "That's what anybody in Steamboat would charge you." I called literally one other shop in town (Legacy Tire Pros if you're here looking for a better shop) and they quoted me $130 less, specifying exactly where the price came from. If you're only making $120 on this fix while the other shops in town are able to do the same work for $130 less, you should look into a new tire supplier.I understand miscommunications, and understand this is a business which needs to make profit. However, a miscommunication that extreme, plus Noah's absolute disregard for any mistake made is pretty frustrating. Take your vehicle somewhere else if you'd like straight forward mechanics who won't gaslight you for their mistakes.

Absolutely amazing service and prices here. They have taken care of my personal vehicle for years. They now take care of the fleet of 7 shuttles I oversee at work, and they couldn't be more helpful or accommodating. Can't recommend them enough.

I had some dashboard notification issues with my newer vehicle, while driving around in the area on a Saturday evening. It was a Sunday when I needed to make sure I could safely head back to Denver, but every place seemed be closed when I checked on Maps. I checked a few tire/auto places, who knew AAR was closed but there was still someone around the garage this day that I needed someone. Danny assisted us right away, took in all my info. Initially it looked like we may have needed a parts replacement, which would have taken days to arrive. In the end, he was able to provide a small technical patch fix for my vehicle instead. He was very friendly and accommodating ofc to be able to service my vehicle that day. He was definitely a hero for us that day. Got home safely to Denver that day! Highly recommend, especially if you're in a similar situation.

Thank you Noah for helping me get on the road quickly even though I didn't have an appointment. Thanks also to David, the tow truck driver who was heading up to the pass for giving me his number in case I did have problems as it was snowing very heavily. I'm so glad that a friend recommended this shop when my car needed an immediate fix before heading out.

Alpenglow was some of the fastest, fairest, and kindest mechanics I have ever worked with. I had some concerns with my cars engine and transmission and they were able to help me within one day. They came recommended from two friends and didn t disappoint. They worked quickly on my car and kept me posted at every step. The prices were extremely fair. As others have said, there s no reason to go anywhere else!

The guys at Alpenglow helped me late on a Friday when my vehicle was running rough, throwing a code suggesting a camshaft sensor or timing issue, and I needed to the front range the next day. Another local shop took a quick look and told me not only could they not help me for a few days, the initial diagnosis would involve 6 hours of engine disassembly. The guys at Alpenglow understood my urgency and got to me as soon as I arrived. They did great diagnostic work and within an hour resolved the issue that turned out to be less severe than what I had feared. And when it came time to settle up they were more than fair. When was the last time you felt you should buy your mechanic dinner?

We had an unexpected car emergency in Steamboat. We needed to get it fixed before our drive back home. Even though they were closed because it was a Sunday, Danny went above and beyond to help us! He made sure our car problem was fixed so we could drive home safely.

I went to Alpenglow today (10.5.23) to use their advertised $20 off coupon and was told they would not honor the coupon even though it says it is valid until 11.23. On top of that the person who I was talking to got a bad attitude and told me he was not going to change my oil even if I paid $89. Stay away from this place, instead go to 4 Star Auto nearby. You will pay more but not have to deal with the AA (Alpenglow Attitude).

New to renting a trailer- their team really took their time to carefully explain and demonstrate the in s & out s of it, very accommodating and able to provide same day service- really saved the day as I m moving out of state and unexpectedly had to tow my SUV- they really hooked it up, literally! Their team was professional, knowledgeable and friendly- so easy to work with, I highly recommend them! Danny and his crew are awesome at what they do, keep up the great service!!!

One of our customers was having problems with his wheel bearings and did not want to drive back to Denver pulling a trailer without getting them fixed. Noah got him in right away and had him back on the road quickly at a reasonable price. We hear a lot of stories from folks from out of town about local auto repairs and they are very rarely similar to this one.Thank you Noah!!

Very friendly! They didn t try to upsell me on anything but instead diagnosed the problem and showed me so I understand what I can look for in the future. I appreciated their honesty and speed - this is the shop everyone in Steamboat should be using!

Big thanks to Noah @ Alpenglow for helping us out as we were visiting Steamboat and experienced weird auto issues (lots of dash diagnostic lights suddenly). He had us come right in to the shop midweek, midafternoon, ran the diagnostics, made sure everything was good, and sent us on our way! If you ever need help in an odd emergency situation, he s your guy!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

They changed several parts of my vehicle, and the problem persists, I paid a lot of money to repair my car and the problem persists, I feel like they charged me and didn't solve anything

I noticed my front wheel bearing started making noise when turning left. We were camping at Stagecoach State Park in our 5th wheel trailer. I jacked the truck up at the campsite and found the wheel had excessive play and knew it would be unsafe to travel back to Denver towing 10'000 lbs plus. Alpenglow was great from when I called them to explain the situation to accommodating me the same day and completing the repair in approx 2 hours. Everyone at the shop was great. Can't say enough good things about my experience. Thanks to Aspenglow for treating a tourist like a local.

We were heading through Steamboat on our way camping when the wheel bearings on my camper's left tire failed. Fortunately we were close to Alpenglow and they were able get us in right away. Not only did they fix it, he even upgraded both sides to a self-grease type to make it really easy for me to maintain. I was so impressed by their service. They saved our trip! Thank you so much!

Shockingly bad. Worst experience at a business in 29 years of Steamboat. My son s car had tire problems a week before Christmas. They said they d have it by end of day. They never called, never returned messages. In fact after the first couple of days their phone just went straight to music, you couldn t even leave a message. Finally he got a ride over there and they were aggressively rude, said Get your car out of here, we don t want to deal with it. They literally yelled at my son after screwing us over for 6 days NOT fixing the car and preventing us from taking it somewhere that would actually fix it in time to travel to family for Christmas. On top of that, they left it outside in a snowstorm the whole time with the windows down. I can t believe they d ever get any repeat business. Maybe at one time they were ok but not anymore! Go to Rush s Auto instead for competence and honesty.

They scammed me out of 800$! Do not use this company ever. My car came home obviously leaking transmission fluid. They changed the battery for no reason. The problem was obvious and they refused to fix the problem. The guy was a real jerk. Never go to Alpenglow auto. They are incompetent and rude and will not fix the problem. I hope they go out of business. They scammed me and left me without a car right before Christmas without a second thought. I missed two weeks of work and they didn't even bother to actually fix my car! Really never go to Alpenglow auto!

Helped me out of jam while roadtripping. Only place in town that could get me in the same day. Luckily, for my only option the crew were wonderful. They were honest, friendly, and helpful and had me on my way by the afternoon. Thanks guys.

I found Alpenglow as one of the only shops around Steamboat able to accommodate my tall class B vehicle.I could not be more thrilled! They are some of the most honest, straightforward, and kind people. Everyone I encountered at the shop went above and beyond. Danny, the mechanic I spoke to quite abit was not only incredibly knowledgeable, he was a complete pleasure to converse with. Even when I had extra questions Danny went out of his way to be informative and helpful.Thank you so dearly to everyone at Alpenglow, a vehicle couldn't be in better hands. Smiles for miles, and completely satisfied as I headed out.Wether it be routine maintenance, or vehicle issues down the road, I will be back.Thank you all!

My fianc and I were on our way out of town when we unexpectedly ran into car trouble. They were incredibly nice and helped us out, quickly finding the problem and letting us know what parts we needed to grab next door to fix it. They were busy but made a few minutes for us and we re so incredibly grateful. We were worried about being out-of-towners in a sticky situation but their kindness really helped us and we can t say enough nice things about them for that. Thank you again Alpen Glow!

Traveling through CO and visiting a friend in Steamboat. Felt a vibration during the trip and scheduled a tire rotation. They got me in way sooner then anyone else would. While rotating tires they found a loose upper control arm bolt which I observed. The wheel was able to rock in and out a lot. They addressed this problem and checked the other side, to find another loose bolt.Anyway, I'm a non professional mechanic and I really like all that worked there. I highly recommend. Being from out of the area I was worried who was going to turn a wrench on my car. I was extremely relieved to find a friendly and efficient shop like thisThanks guys!

This shop is without hesitation the best shop I have ever taken my vehicle to for repairs! The owner Elizabeth and the mechanic Rob treated me like family. Quick service and repairs done right. I would love to tell the whole story however I dont want other people trying to take advantage of them. But if there were an auto repair shop hall of fame, they would be there, leading the pack. Outstanding service. Incredible people. Highly recommended!

Fast , professional, top notch service and a fair price. I called 5 places just to get a service check up for a truck I had just purchased and knew nothing about. Rob was the only one who would take the truck in less than 2 weeks. Some couldn't service a box truck some didn't want too.. I highly recommend.

I purchased a new vehicle and wanted the brakes inspected because they were squeaking. They told me it was one of the pulleys on my idle belt no question. Spent $300 and 4+ hours waiting and drove away with the brakes squeaking. I went back in to have them look at it, waited another 3 hours and called them to get an update and they said they just pulled it out. I was next door and walked out to see my car with snow on it, obviously not just pulled out, and the mechanic said he fixed it. I didn t even make it out of the parking lot before they squealed on me. Never going back.Service: Brakes

As a longtime local, I was stunned when I was charged $240 for an oil change on a Toytota Tundra (7.9L of oil). Danny, who helped me stated that the reason for this outrageous price was that they do not buy their oil in bulk but rather buy it on demand from NAPA. I called several other places in town and the highest quote I received was $171. Please do not use this overpriced business and lesson learned to ask for a quote before hand.
