We had a great experience here. We picked up a nail in our travels and stopped at Sunset to see if they could help us out on short notice.Aland got us in immediately and set to work on our tire right away. Less than 30 minutes later we paid a very reasonable price and we were on our way.

From out of town, here for hunting season, taking a day trip to explore some sights and we got a slow leak in our tire from a tiny nail. There s not a lot of options out here, but pulled in to see if they could help us out. Let s say the response was less than friendly. Maybe if you are a local it would be different. Was told he was busy with something else and was not willing to help. I get people can be busy, but isn t it just the right thing to do to spare a few minutes to help a motorist out? Apparently not.

Excellent work. My Tahoe needed valve work. Tom rebuilt the cylinder heads. His work is meticulous.I waited 800 miles to make my report. I am very satisfied with the work.

I needed a small but critical repair on my car to get me back home safely. When i entered the shop nobody greeted me for at least 5 minutes. When one of the employees finally saw me, he listened to what i needed and went to go check with his boss and mechanic to see if it was possible. I could hear him getting chewed out from the lobby. The poor kid came back and apologized that his boss was doing payroll and it would be a while. How long, he had not a clue. I sat and waited for a while but it became clear that the wait was indeterminable, the boss and mechanic did not care enough about his customers to even come and talk to me. I left and went to Schoonover's Auto Center. Dont waste your time here, go get quality service from someone who actually cares.

Car broke down (couldn t drive it anywhere) 7 hours from home and the owner said he was booked out for weeks but he came in to work early the next day and fixed my car so I wasn t stuck there. Great man! Thank you Phil

This guy couldn t be more of a JERK! We were stranded, asked him for help, he said he was too busy and couldn t take the time to hook our truck up to his portable diagnostic meter to diagnose our problem. I hope this old curmudgeon chokes on his steak tonight!

Tom and Phil were friendly and helpful in an early AM situation. Tom took 30-minutes at 8AM to run diagnostics on our van as we were visiting in the area. Highly recommend them. If you have an involved repair they are short handed unfortunately.

The first guy that I dealt with was extremely nice and repaired my tire for a really good reasonable price. I went back an hour and a half later to pick up my tire ( The nice guy was apparently going to lunch }and they refused to help me put it on my vehicle which would have taken between five and seven minutes with their tools so I wrestled it myself in the parking lot. If someone comes to town that s a decent mechanic with great customer service they could easily illuminate the competition in Ridgeway

Until last summer I had been pleased with service, however one bad experience has convinced me to never do business there again. As a result of the mechanic 'incorrectly reassembled the front differential/axel assembly, a bearing spun, ruining the differential. They would not honor or warranty their poor workmanship. A simple repair resulted thousands of dollars to replace the differential.

Heck yes I d recommend them. We were traveling thru Ridgway when our check engine light came on. I called around and found everyone was too busy to help until I talked to Tom at Sunset Automotive. Even though they were all booked up, he got me in and checked out and on my way in less than half an hour. Very friendly and very accommodating. Thank you Sunset Automotive for saving our trip.

Tom was nice enough to fit me into their busy day. Just to do some quick check ups on my fluid levels. But as a traveler in an old vehicle it was very important to me to have piece of mind. Thanks!

My car was towed to sunset due to alternator on a Tuesday. He said it would take a couple of days. He ordered the wrong part and said I had given him the wrong year on the vehicle even tho he was working on it. Correct part came in and he said he would get to it but had other vehicles to work on. I called on Monday and asked if the car would be ready since I needed to get to work on Tuesday.He said it wouldn't. I told him I would need to rent a car. He was very rude. I rented a car and then 6:00 pm pm he called and said it was ready. He charged excessively,was very rude. His staff person a woman was just as mean. I will never ever use his "business" again.

Had my vehicle for 3 months and did nothing. When I would call they would say just now getting into it. The only reason they got 1 star is because it is the lowest possible. Negative 50 is what I would give being they lied to me once a week for 2 and a half months.

This place is horrible! I loaded my family up to drive 45 minutes at the end of the day to pick up a uhaul truck. We called to let them know we would be there just before 5pm and wanted to make sure we could still pick up the truck we reserved. He said 'No. We close at 5'. He then changed the time that they close to 4:30. When I told this rude guy we had double checked their hours earlier in the day with his office and uhaul. he told me he was the owner and they close at 4:30. Good to know the extremely poor service and manners start at the top.

Both employees were eating lunch and refused to help us figure out what the code on our car was! Told us they were far to busy to run a code reader on our car... And to make matters worse we re very rude about it. Had to cancel our trip to ouray to go back to montrose to get car looked at....

Twice now I have had to come to these guys with a last minute emergency with my car and each time they have dropped everything to help me out. They are honest, good guys and I recommend them 100%

Rented a UHaul the other day from these guys. They helped me wire my truck to be compatible for the trailer, and did an amazing job inspecting the trailer. Great experience and really friendly folks.

I personally know Tom, the manager as well as phil and shane and I can tell you they are hardworking people always trying to get things done in a timely matter . They are fair honest people. They are determined to get down to the problem and find a solution !

Always consistent in customer service and with paying attention to details...also reasonably priced and very convenient...Tom, the owner, and Phil have worked on our vehicles for the past 18+ years...we are very satisfied customers.

I'm done. Have had them work on my cars for 4 years, and they always find a way to jack up the price. They are expensive and slow (a bad combination). Never again.

This place is the worst. Rude. They told me that they weren't going to run my card that it was just a hold. Guess what. 600 dollars later. I dropped off the uhaul later and rudeness continues. Go somewhere else

As always, very helpful and informative folks. The prices Maybe a fraction of a percent higher than driving to Montrose... But it saves the drive to Montrose!!
