My experience was the worst I ve ever had in my entire life incompetent mechanics caused damage to my car and work had to be redone elsewhere Lyndall talks pretty but delivers 0They had my car for over three weeks with multi visits in between, and they did not correct the problem and I had to fix the problem correctly. When I got to Florida I would not recommend this company whatsoever their incompetence as I said they did damage to my car and refused to pay for it they stink go somewhere else anywhere else I would suggest somewhere in DurangoService: General repairs & maintenance

Best experience I ve ever had. They went above and beyond to help me out not once but twice with two separate issues. They saved our snowboarding trip. The repair was quick and the price was more than fair.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

My grand daughter took her BMW to Piedra Automotive for an oil change and service. When she went to pick up her car the mechanic told her that he was not familiar with BMWs and that he had to google it to find out where the dip stick is for the oil. (FYI there is not dip stick) Immediately after she picked up her car, (to the tune of over $200.) it started acting up. We took it to Durango small car and they said that the oil cap was not replaced correctly, a part was missing, and it caused damage to other parts of the car. Now we are at almost $2,000. Piedra Automotive refused to do anything about it. Bill the owner argues that there is a recall on that part. However I cannot find any recall and have even called BMW and did not find any recall for what he is talking about. I cannot in good conscience recommend them.Service: Engine repair

I brought my Jeep in for a VC joint repair and they were amazing!! From customer service to fully repair they kept me informed of time knowing that I will have to leave the next day. The price is good and the people are awesome!! I like to thanks the locals that referred that place to me and a special thanks to Duane Nembhard for making the whole experience very pleasant.

Had purchased tires for my dually and one of the tires on the inner rear the next day had 7lbs of air. The valve stems aren't even accessible for the inner tires and I know this sounds petty but half the tires didn't even have valve stem caps on them and the young kids who pulled the truck in drove it like a hot rod. However the guy who sold me the tires was very pleasant and extremely helpful. Just the "technician's" seem like they need some guidance.Service: Auto tire replacement

The service advisors are great. You may not get an appointment for a specific time but they will let you know if it will get done.I would suggest dropping it off and getting a ride back when it's complete.I will definitely be back for services.

We had Bill respond to our roadside emergency and cannot stress how excellent his service and customer care was! He knew the extreme cold weather issues and our predicament on isolated mountain road. He responded promptly regardless of the runaround by the rental car insurance agency. He pulled our car safely and swiftly out of the snow drift in mere minutes. Thank you Bill and Piedra Automotive!

A pretty nasty pothole in town knocked my splash guard loose and blew a tire. I went to Piedra to get the splash guard removed and trashed. When I mentioned what had happen, The gentleman behind the counter called around and found me some tire options that were available that morning at a tire shop.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Words cannot describe how thankful we are for Pierda Automotive. Our brake line broke while on vacation in Pagosa Springs and they went above and beyond to repair it for us on a Friday afternoon to make sure we had our vehicle for our drive home. They sent two guys out looking for parts to try to troubleshoot our issue and were able to fix it in a timely manner. They communicated with us every step of the way and the customer service was superb. The owner and his wife were so kind and we are forever thankful that we were able to have our car repaired by such a wonderful automotive shop!

What an incredible place! I spoke with a gentleman at Piedras because I felt I was about to be gouged at another place. He looked things over (after hours!) And as his business was booked he recommended that I carefully continue on. His advice saved me a couple grand in unnecessary repairs. Thank you Piedras, May God's Blessings be upon you all!

We had an issue with our vehicle while in a vacation. All the shops in Pagosa Springs were beyond busy. Susan and Lindall said they d hook it up to a code reader and at least give me a direction to head. The team including Rick who gave my girlfriend and Niece a ride to downtown Pagosa, Daniel and Charles Martinez, worked diligently to get us back on the road. They said they d just take a look at it, but they worked their butts off to try and get us covered. They gave us the vehicle back at 530 and off we went. Unfortunately, the work done was not the problem as it quit on us 20 minutes down the road. We were able to limp it to our destination, and I have it in another shop with what I think is a failed fuel pump, which is a totally separate issue from what the codes were reading at the shop so absolutely not on Piedra. Long story short, these folks are great people that go to great lengths to take care of their customers. I would recommend them for anyone in need of repairs in Pagosa Springs.

Vacationing in Pagosa from Texas and my 08 Toyota Sequoia was running hot, heater stopped working and several warning lights appeared. Me and my family were stranded at Wolf Creek. Bill came and got me and my truck off the mountain. They were busy right before the New Year holiday weekend. They diagnosed and repaired my cooling system issue same day. I was so relieved to be back in business to explore this beautiful area with my family.

We visited Pagosa Springs for some skiing at Wolf Creek, driving from Fort Worth. Prior to our departure, I had a good friend of mine - a mobile mechanic - check everything over on our 2009 Suburban. We skied Sunday - Tuesday, and took Wednesday off for some in-town fun and snowmobiling. As we drove up to the departure location for snowmobiles, I noticed the brakes seemed a bit soft. I thought maybe it was the chains, or the slushy drive up CR400.Just as I pulled in to park, the "Check brake system" warning came on. I barely had enough braking power to stop in the parking spot. I got out and checked the brake fluid and it was low. I managed to obtain some from the outfitter, and - after our tour - started the 8mi drive back to town. Before we got into town, the warning came on again. I had my wife look up the nearest mechanic, and she found Piedra, which was only about 2.5mi away. I carefully made our way to the shop. Before I went in, I popped the hood and checked the brake fluid level. It had gone from almost full to almost empty in a mere 10 miles.I walked in and spoke to Susan - she was very kind and explained that they really didn't have an open slot that evening to look at it, and asked if I could come back at 8am. I explained my concern (no brakes!) and that I'd need to at least buy some fluid. In the meantime, Chuck - the service manager - went out and took a quick look at the issue. He came back in and said "They don't need to go anywhere - it's not safe!" He called the customer coming in that evening - a regular, I presume - and asked if they could come in the next morning - that they had an important issue (my Suburban) to look at.The owner, Bill (Susan is his wife), personally drove us to our townhome across town, and suggested a company that could transport us to the ski area so we wouldn't miss any time on the slopes. The next day, I got a message saying it had been repaired. It was a broken metal tubing brake line (which Chevrolet doesn't sell), so they ordered the tubing and bent it to match the original. We stopped by on the way back from Wolf Creek. Susan showed me where the brake line had failed.I was VERY impressed with their level of service and rates. I called my mechanic friend after leaving the shop to tell him what all had transpired, and he confirmed that they did an excellent job at a very fair rate.Bill and Susan, as well as their techs, were truly a blessing to us! HIGHLY recommended!

Just passing through Pagosa springs because the area is so beautiful. Stopped at store for refreshments but when I went to start my vehicle it seemed as though the battery died. Nobody had jumper cables at the store so I had no choice but to call for help. I looked on the internet to find the nearest service company for help. Ran across Piedra automotive and called for a jump or to possibly change or charge the battery. The gentleman who answered the phone asked where I was at, so I informed him of the location. When I asked for possibly a jump, he stated they did not own jumper cables for my vehicle and hung up the phone. Just so very frustrating to call for help and to be treated like that. I didn't even get a chance to question his actions. I would imagine the tourist economy helps out but why go if people are treated so poorly.

I have changed my review because Piedra Automotive realized and corrected the issue with our tire. We receive the new tire today. 10-13-16 Thank you for stepping up.2 I would have given them 5 but when we had over $1300.00 of work done on our truck, which included front-end work and 2 new tires. We live in Oklahoma and we were there on vacation, anyway we were told we had a bent rim that would need to be taken care of when we got home. So as soon as we got home we got the new rim $403.00 when the people here were putting the new tire from "bent rim" to new rim. We were told the rim is not bent. You have a bad tire. So since then we have been trying to get tired replaced. But to no avail so out another $170.00 for bad tire. We just ordered a new tires from Cooper Tire. We had to make a choice of spending about $450.00 to drive back to Piedra Automotive or eat the $170.00 and spend another $170.00 for a new tire. All because it was not cost effective for Piedra Automotivr to work with us. So because they missed it on the bent rim and actually a bad tire they put on the rim we ended up being out an additional almost $600.00. All over a bad tire... not good business. What happened to taking care of the customer? You should no your products and the guarantees behind them and how to take care of problems.

While in Pagosa Springs with a rented car I got a tire puncture. Actually a bar of metal had broken trhrough the side and it was not possible having it fixed. The firts place I went to, Pagosa Tire and Auto, refused to help me unless I had all the tires replaced although the car had about 5000 miles. Maybe my foreign accent and my urgency to have the car fixed dictated such a behavior. Piedra Automotive, in the person of Lyndall Caler, instead proved to be extremely kind and professional. Since they didn't have in stock the right tire size they got it for me in 24 hours and they put me back on the road without any additional delay. Being in Pagosa from time to time Piedra Automotive will be my firt choice in the future despite they do not have direct agreements with car rentals.Service: Tires

While passing through Pagosa Springs on vacation a few weeks ago, a service light appeared on my Toyota RAV4 instrument panel. The service manual wasn't specific what the problem was and I feared travelling further without knowing for sure. I figured a "local" could give me a recommendation where to take the RAV4 for service. An employee in the largest antique store in downtown Pagosa Springs suggested Piedra Automotive. On arrival, I could see they were very busy and I was worried my vacation might be put on hold for half a day while waiting for service. After describing my problem, the owner immediately went out and gave my car a quick look. He said an oil-change reminder had not been reset by the last technician and then sent someone out to reset it for me. Most relieved, I asked how much I owed, and he replied "nothing". It was a great kindness he showed to a stranger passing through. If I lived there, he would get my business!
