I saw another review saying they don t work on 7.3s newer than 99. These guys did a great job installing a transmission cooler in my 2001 7.3. I just called them again for glow plugs and they were happy to take me back. They are knowledgeable and friendly. The most important aspect after skill is trust. It s so easy to feel vulnerable at the mechanic. Lucky s seems very much like a mechanic you can trust.

Lucky's did a really big job on my F150 ecoboost. The communication between Lucky's and me was outstanding every step of the way. They offered me several different repair options and I never felt pressured to do anything I didn't need/want to do. My truck runs tip top! I'm glad I came here and will refer everyone I know to Lucky's.

Although they are usually booked out for a week or two I Had a terrible oil leak! Many technicians assumed many things. after THREE mechanic shops, lucky number four,Lucky's Diesel were honest and knowledgeable. They fixed my issue and got me back on the road.Unfortunately they do not do fine tuning or high performance work. Still I'd recommend this shop to any small diesel owner that needs good work done.

Wow. I bought a 2005 Sportmobile with the Ford 6.0 diesel and it started throwing off some codes that suggested some issues with the turbo. I'm new to diesels so they can be intimidating. Lucky's has a great reputation and now I know why. The van had been sitting a couple years before I bought it so after Lucky's inspected (and replaced a missing header bolt!) we decided to install a new turbo and VGT. Now this old van runs like new and I'm constantly giggling at that sweet turbo whistle. Patrick and the team know their stuff and they made a newbie like me stoked to be on this diesel journey.

Driving across country from Georgia. Came into Colorado to see some friends in Longmont. Woke up next morning to my fuel bowl leaking on my 7.3l. Very simple fix but I did not have a place to properly work on it. Plus I hate diesel fuel on me. My friends recommend luckys in town. Called them up and spoke with Kyle on the phone. Was interested and intrigued in fixing my problem for me.. He told me he could have the parts here next day and I could come by and get it done anytime. I dropped my truck off and figured about 2hrs. Left nut brewery is just down the street . Apon further disassembly of my fuel bowl. Justin called me to inform The filter was very dirty and asked whether I wanted a new one or to keep the old one. Appreciated the call to ask me. The filter was recently new but I didn't doubt the judgement. New o ring kit and filter in my truck. Little more than I would have like to pay but you can't beat peace of mind. When I'm in the area and around Colorado. I won't hesitate to call Luckys diesel shop with any issues may have. Greatly appreciate the work done and in the timely manner. Thanks Kyle and Justin!!

This is the only shop I trust working on my truck. I work on vehicles as a hobby but when the time came to pull the heads, oil cooler, and install studs on my 6.0 I turned to these guys. I'm not permitted to leave disassembled vehicles in my driveway due to HOA rules. Because of this I called up Lucky's and talked to Cody about my truck and what I wanted to do. Cody was great setting things up over the phone and it didn't bother the guys that I had specific heads and studs that I wanted to use. Kyle was the awesome, highly knowledgeable mechanic that was tasked with the work.I wanted a mechanic that had a passion for doing good work and was proud of the final product. After meeting Kyle a few times before and during the job I realized he was the right person for the job. He found a few small issues after pulling the heads. Instead of just sending me a massive bill, he called to let me know what the issue was and we discussed ways to address it properly. While putting everything back together, Kyle found one of my rocker boxes was cracked. When I picked up the truck he let me know that he had a spare one lying around the shop so he replaced it - no charge to me. Prior to installing the o-ringed cylinder heads, Kyle checked them over and noted that one had an issue. He contacted the vendor and arranged to have a new head shipped to the shop. Kyle called me after the fact and let me know what the problem was - and that he was already working on a resolution. I could give several more scenarios where Kyle and Cody took care of me and, more importantly, my truck. Now my 2005 Harley Davidson Edition 6.0 runs better than ever. She doesn't leak coolant or oil, the headgaskets are sealed tight, and my oil & coolant temps are perfect. The guys also recommended a few aftermarket parts for me. I gave the parts a try and I'm glad I did! I have no regrets using Lucky's and is the only shop I recommend Powerstroke owners use.

Took my 2001 7.3 here for a diagnostic and I'm glad I did. A previous mechanic quoted me at $8k dollars in repairs, but Lucky's found it to be substantially cheaper. They took their time and they are extremely honest with fair prices. If you have a powerstroke, these are the boys. Best powerstroke mechanics in Colorado, hands down.

Our 2002 Excursion w/ 7.3L broke down on our way back to Virginia from a Breckenridge and I can only say we were very fortunate to break down near Lucky's. I called a couple other local shops to find out when we could be worked in and they said 4-6 weeks. The guys at Lucky's jumped on it immediately, even though they were short handed, to try to get us back on the road. We ended up having to fly home as parts were ordered, but they allowed us to use their lobby to entertain our kids and re-pack our luggage to take home what we needed. They even gave us a ride to pick up a rental car. It was an extremely stressful situation and they did more than what would be expected to help us get home safe. After the truck was fixed, I flew back and drove it home to Virginia without further issue. I wish I could afford to have my truck shipped to them every time it needed repair or upgrade.

2006 F250 SDPS 6.0L, 93k mi. Needed the sled to be reliable for the next 100k + mi. Kyle, Justin and the Lucky's team diagnosed the coolant splatter issue I had along with a few other concerns. They were extremely polite, knowledgeable, and professional while doing the necessary "Bulletproofing" (EGR Cooler, Head Studs/Gaskets/Seals, Water Pump, etc.) without trying to upsell the Mrs. and I with unnecessary components. After receiving individual diagnostics reports and repair estimates from (2) local diesel repair shops within 5-mi. from our home, we chose to drive 60 miles to have the work done at Lucky's. They answered all our questions and asked great questions on how we used the sled. They are truly the Power Stroke professionals on the Colorado Front Range! The engine overhaul work took less than 2 weeks which included a new radiator, some front end work replacing ball joints, and the 4wd seals in the front differential. They definitely made Santa's Good List and one of the other shops is most certainly on the Naughty list! Be kind to each other and stay safe out there!

Supposedly a powerstroke expert shop but wont take a 7.3l powerstroke later then 99 even know superduty has a 7.3l because it will take up a bay for them to have another vehicle in to work on

Lucky's Diesel Shop located in loveland, Unbelievable, I have used a few other shops here in Northern Colorado and there is no comparison to the quality, the communication, friendly, hard working workmanship that comes from Lucky's. Justin, kept me informed on the progress, any problems found and what it would take to properly fix my truck. No hidden cost repairs at the end and they stand 100% behind there work. I recommend Lucky's to anyone with a Ford vehicle and especially anyone with a powerstroke.Hands down a 5 star from me.

Awesome Powerstroke diesel shop! Had a lot going on with my 2006 F-350 and had it towed in. The guys had it diagnosed the next day, gave me a whole run-down on what needed to be done with cost estimates and gave me a chance to review everything before we moved forward with the repairs. When they had the truck tore down, they found a few other things and called me with my options before doing anything. Very good communication compared to other shops I've worked with. The best part is my truck was done in three days and it's like having a new truck again - it's running great! All the parts came in super fast. Thanks Lucky's - really appreciate the help last week.

I own a Ford Excursion as I always wanted one. I got mine a year before the pandemic so i was able to get one in great shape for a lower price. This took me on the path of all the research and information good and bad with the 6.0 Ford Powerstroke. I live in the middle of nowhere out of state so I started to do my research on the best shop to do the bulletproof process. I first have to say one of the main reason I would recommend Lucky s Diesel shop is everyone who picked up the phone when calling them was the nicest and straight forward you could ask for. With me so far away they communicated very well and always got back to me quickly. They are a great well of information and see enough powerstrokes to help a person filter out all the noise on the online forums. This process on a 6.0 diesel is not a small undertaking and they even documented the entire process as they did the work. I think their prices are in the middle to higher end of the range but you can have the confidence the work they are doing is right. I m slow in getting this review done with my busy schedule but have been driving my excursion with no issue and has been running great. I did just recently have a small oil leak on the remote oil cooler that I requested to try so it was not do to their work. It actually points out how honest they are as they suggested a different kit or just stock and did not know much good or bad about the IPR kit (not saying the IPR kit is bad I think just needs some tweaking). Also I had the Loveland Co location do my work and they did great with all the stress of just opening another location and still did a great job on my vehicle. Special shout out to Justin and the other mechanics at this location it was a true pleasure working with you all (sorry i forgot the mechanics names or I would have listed them by name).

Reaching the end of my luck with my 6.0 Powerstroke and time for some service. Went to Lucky's to give them an informal interview on their knowledge and philosophy of service. Very impressed. Took the truck in for a diagnostic analysis on the engine and got full details of what was going on with recommendations for the engine that didn't push for "the works". They looked over the entire truck and identified some much needed work I had overlooked - very thorough inspection! Will report back after a semi-bulletproofing - leaving on a 5000 mile trip in a few weeks.

I drive a 6.0 Powerstroke with about 280k miles. I recently moved to CO from SC and towed my stuff in a U-haul. I was not prepared for the cold and elevation. Long story short, my truck started to act up. I took it to Luckys, where they diagnosed and repaired it in no time.I have general knowledge of diesel engines, but I am no expert. The guys at Luckys were comprehensive and explained my truck's issues in a timely and friendly manner.I will return to lucky's in the future for any diesel needs.

Hands down best shop around!Ever since day one of my ownership of my Ford Powerstroke these guys have been a huge help - even via the phone. We are a full time RV family (originally from CO) and use our F-450 as our tow rig. On a recent trip we landed in Montana with a crank-no-start situation. After $2k and a month and a half of dealing with shops up there where I was not a priority I personally hauled the truck back to Luckey's to get us back on the road again. We were up and running in about a week. They will not stop until they find out what's wrong with your rig. Either location Longmont or Loveland these guys are awesome.

I was driving across county when my radiator blew. Patrick was incredibly accommodating and extremely knowledgeable. They got me back on the road in just a few short hours. I almost wish I still lived in Longmont just so I could take my truck here on a regular basis!

I've recently used Luckys Diesel in Loveland on both of my Ford superdutys. Both times I've been treated very fairly. And, the work has been great. Great shop to have around. Will be using them again!

Great shop with reliable service, on the phone and in the shop. These guys did me a favor when I needed front brakes done, and that kept my weekend plans in tact.I appreciate the way they do things at Lucky s.

Sean and John are great. I have a 2001 F-350 that just went over 300,000 miles. There have been times that my final bill has been lower than what they estimated it would be. I am not a mechanic, I am in construction and I make my living using my truck. They have done a great job keeping it on the road. I heard about them from a colleague and he has nothing but great things to say as well. Another friend of mine does some work on his own truck (he has quite a bit of experience working on cars and trucks.) and Sean and John are always very helpful giving him advice. I highly recommend Lucky's Diesel Shop.

Great guys, great job. I took my truck in initially for a diagnostic knowing that there was a lot wrong with it. Once I scheduled for service, there was a slight hiccup with scheduling, but unlike other shops they took responsibility For it and didn t make excuses. They are amazingly helpful and walk me through everything that needed to be done. To save a little bit of money there were some things I wanted to do myself, and they were great in helping me understand what needed to be done and what made the most sense for me to do.They are super fair with their pricing and their estimates are concise clear and easy to read. You can definitely trust your truck with Luckys !

Luckys is by far the best mechanic experience I have ever had. I was traveling across country with my work truck and broke down in CO. I was given quotes by other mechanics in town that were clearly trying to take advantage of me and the fact that I was desperate because I was traveling. Finally I found Luckys and they took me right in. They were honest about the work that needed to be done along with fair rates for their services. Shaun took lots of his time on top of the labor to teach me about my truck and how to take care of it. I am so thankful for their knowledge and guidance. I can't say enough good things about Luckys. I wish there was a place like this close to where I live. They are truly power stroke specialists and their knowledge has exceeded any other mechanics that I have had work on my trucks including the dealership. I highly recommend their services!

First time using Lucky's, this was a simple repair thankfully. I was also very happy with Kyle and the advice he offered me on using a cooling system additive instead of a flush at this time. I will definitely use Lucky's for my next service.

Our 2006 F350 broke down. We live in New Mexico and were on our way to Estes Park. We thought it was the injectors. Sean and John correctly diagnosed it as the main fuel tank delaminating (!) and gumming up the fuel pump and filters. They checked the smaller tank for us too. Even though they were busy, they had it diagnosed and fixed in three days. It ran great all the way home. I am especially appreciative that they didn't gouge us even though we were from out of town and at their mercy. If we lived there, I would definitely use them again. The other thing that was nice was to not get a lecture about the 6.0 engine and its failings. Some people can't afford brand new trucks and we like ours fine.

Have to Love the new shop in Loveland it is sweet location. I have been going to these guys for years at the Longmont location next to Left-hand Brewery. The guys there have fixed problems that Longmont Ford could not fix and diagnosed the problem correctly the first time unlike Longmont Ford. I would Highly recommend this shop. My father was so impressed he tried to see if they would work on his Toyota truck.

Best place I've ever used for my Ford diesel van. Incredibly knowledgeable and have a great attention to detail. Can't recommend them enough. If you have a Ford diesel you should be using Lucky's for all your maintenance and repairs.

At $130 an hour & all the great reviews, I was really expecting to get a diagnosis of what was wrong with my truck. I instead got told they couldn't do any tests without me paying $3000 for new fuel injectors. That could be destroyed by running the truck & wouldn't be warrantied if they were destroyed. This place might be great if you have tens of thousands of dollars to throw away, but if you have a budget, I recommend going somewhere that will actually find, then fix your problem. They tell a great story, that's partly why I took my truck there. What it boils down to is they'd rather not do the hard tests that take time. Pressure test the motor thru the IPR to see if the block is cracked, which they told me it could be & would cost over $14,000 to replace the motor.A compression test to check for head problems. I'm not a mechanic but I know that tests can be done on non running motors to find out why it doesn't run. Don't charge people $130/hr & tell them the problem is going to cost somewhere between$1,500 & $15,000. Do your job, find the problem.Service: Engine repair

Fast turnaround! Reasonable price!! Excellent work!!! My '06 6.0 had gotten very sluggish and didn't have much power. Sean and his team worked their magic on it. I'm very happy with the service and highly recommend them.
