Took my car here for a repair and it turned out I needed a completely new vehicle! Vinny and Ben were extremely knowledgeable about recommendations on what to do next. They helped me look for new vehicles online. My dad even called Vinny for additional help on purchasing a vehicle later that day and he was like an old friend. Really appreciate everything they did for us! And with true care.

One measure of the quality of customer service is how a business takes care of things that weren t done quite right the first time, even if it was under previous management. The current management of Roadmasters did a great job making me 100% satisfied and getting the job done right. Additionally the staff is very experienced and friendly.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had a 10:00 appointment this morning for my Outback. I asked when it would be ready and they said in about 1 1/2 hours. They said they would call me when it was ready and confirmed my cell phone number. I came back at 1:20 and they had not started on it. The young man at the desk when I returned was very rude when I told him I had been told it would be 11/2 hours and that I was very disappointed. I asked for my keys and assured him I'd never be back. Incredibly poor service. Avoid them.

I highly recommend Roadmasters. They quote a fair price and go out of their way to stand by it . They also do a great job of communicating about any changes that occur once the work begins. Thanks for keeping our cars running !!!

Went to them Roadmasters for a rattling sound. They told me "The drive shaft is about to fall out of the car". I was quoted $2,200 to fix it. Thankfully I had my car towed to the dealership where they found it was simply a heat shield that had rattled loose because of a rusted bolt. $116 dollars to fix at the dealership.Go get a second opinion and price. It might save ya a couple of grand.

I tried very hard to give this shop a shot but after having to go back again and again because my vehicles weren't fixed as they should have been, I'm going to be forced to give up on this place and go elsewhere. The first time around, I took my Saturn to them and specifically told them what I suspected was the issue. While they DID find another different and pretty serious problem and repair that, which I was grateful for, they completely overlooked and neglected to fix the issue I specifically mentioned to them when I brought them the car. This resulted in my being back a few days later so they could perform the other fix for me (for free, to their credit, which is why I decided to give them additional chances.) Unfortunately, when it turned out that car was going to be a money pit, I decided to buy something else used, a Jeep, and brought that to them instead for a fix on a fuel injector and a vacuum leak. While it was running much better when I picked it up and I was assured a new gas cap solved the leak issue, lo and behold, a few days later and the check engine light was back on for an evap leak. Called them up, brought it back (with a purge valve I bought myself that I hoped might fix the issue after doing some research,) and while they did swap it out for me for free, they were reluctant to perform a second smoke test on the car because "the machine takes a really long time to warm up" (45 mins,) and initially tried to tell me that it was probably because I hadn't twisted the new gas cap all the way shut even though I hadn't even had the car back long enough to need to put gas in it before the light came back on, and hadn't touched the gas cap since THEY installed it. The tech reset the codes after the 2 minutes it took to install the new part, sent me on my way, and my check engine light was once again back on a few days later. The second smoke test they were so reluctant to do would have told them where the problem actually was instead of doing the quickest possible fix and shooing me back out the door. Unsure if this is because I'm a woman or if they were just irritated that I kept coming back, but I'll be going elsewhere for the next repair.

After 18 years of good experiences I am sad to say we will no longer be using this garage. Something changed after December and all of the people are new, even the mechanics. They charged me for an oil change that wasn't actually done, and when I called after for info about my vehicle they had no record of the service.

They told me that my car had a broken transmission and alternator but thank God I took it somewhere else because it was just the alternator and now my car is just fine in the end. They spent a week trying to get ahold of my warranty while the place I ended up going to did it within a day. They never asked for my warranty contract number which makes me believe that they never even contacted my warranty in the first place.Thank God I am only out $150 for the "diagnosis" and didn't fall for the trap of spending almost $1500 at this place.Service: Transmission

Took my vehicle to them due to a blinking check engine light and my vehicle having trouble accelerating. Their initial diagnosis cost $1,100 and still didn't fix the problem. When they called me with this information, they stated the true fix would cost over $8,000. I took my vehicle to another auto shop and their diagnosis stated nothing about the "true fix" Roadmasters said it would take to get my vehicle running again. After paying a FRACTION of what Roadmasters said it would cost, the other shop fixed it and a week later it is running just fine. I am not sure if Roadmasters waas trying to take advantage of me being a woman, or if they just flat out completely misdiagnosed the problem, but I will not be taking my vehicle back to this location.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I brought a vehicle in for a new alternator and the service was very quick with great communication at an excellent price compared to local competitors.I asked the service technician to check a few other areas that were recommended for service by the dealer. Rather than servicing something unnecessary to charge a higher bill, the tech said these services shouldn't be performed yet because all signs showed they were in good condition. This type of honestly will bring me back again and again. If you haven't tried out Roadmasters, definitely give them a shot.Service: Auto maintenance

I took in my truck to have a check engine light looked at, break inspection and oil change. I was told the front breaks were missed by the first tech/inspector. This was a delay as I did not get a call about this for a few days. I had to call in. 30 days later the rear brakes are metal on metal. I sent an email informing them of this more than a week ago. I have not had any response.Services: Auto exhaust system repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto brake repair, Brakes, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Called for a estimate to replace lower intake manifold gasket, on top part of the engine, 1.3 hours for labor which is incorrect, said they have to remove the exhaust manifolds again not correct. $161.00 an hour for labor but a total of 800.00 so 639.00 for parts. Definitely shop around

These guys are the real deal! I am so incredibly pleased with their integrity, service, and support. I had taken my car into the dealer earlier this week to check some things out under warranty, and the dealer indicated I needed $1600 worth of work. I took it to Roadmasters for a second opinion, and they did a full inspection and found I only needed $70 of work. They explained everything to us thoroughly so that we know what to watch out for and how to discern between the car actually "needing" work versus someone trying to make some money off of us with unnecessary work. I highly highly recommend them and am so thankful to have a trustworthy shop to take all of our cars!

Highly recommended - I brought my wheel in with a flat in it and they had it repaired not even in 10 minutes! DIdn't even have chance to finish the free coffee they offer. (I brought in the tire/wheel only, not the car itself, so it is faster than the usual service).1. Flat repaired - check2. Wheel not damaged - check3. Valve stem cap intact - checkYou'd think number 2, 3 should be also a given but I've had tire shops both damage my wheels while repairing the flat AND also lose the valve stem cap that I had bought because these these specifically had the car company's logo on itService: Tires

Free flat repair today, really good service. The Goodyear tires on my 4Runner are quiet on the highway with very good traction. I highly recommend this tire store.

We've been taking our vehicles (new and old) to Roadmasters for more than 15 years and have always had great service and fair prices for major repairs. During my last oil change I mentioned that a seat belt wasn't always retracting properly--Roadmasters researched the issue and found that the part is still within my extended warranty and I could get it fixed for free by the dealer. They didn't have to make those calls on my behalf and there was nothing in it for them other than my goodwill. It's service like this that will keep me coming back.

I always have a great experience with Roadmasters. They do a great job and are always very friendly. I am not saying their rates are higher than anyone else. I feel like all garages and dealerships cost too much. We have to depend on these places therefore have to pay the costs. Roadmasters does not tell you things need to be done if they don't. I feel they are very honest.

I have so many good things to say about David, Ed and the entire Roadmasters team in Lafayette! My mechanic of 32 years retired and I had to find someone else. These folks have been reliable, fairly priced and a pleasure to work with. Recently, my battery was dead due to being old and not driving much. David came to my house, charged it up and followed me to the shop, where they replaced it in about 15 minutes. The service is terrific and usually comes with a sense of humor, which I appreciate.

This shop is awesome. My husband I have been taking our very old cars there for several years now and they have never failed to take great care of us. It is evident that the business is run with ethics and honesty. No unnecessary repairs are ever suggested. My 4Runner has 240K+ miles on it and they help me invest the money I need to keep her going without throwing good money after an old car. They are friendly, capable and extremely honest. I highly recommend this shop! You will not regret it!

I've lived in Lafayette for several years and this was my first visit to Roadmasters. Went in for an intermittent clutch issue that was not easy to diagnose. I had stopped at several local places for estimates and Ed was the only one who actually went outside and took a look at my car, so I decided to give them my business. Again, this problem was not easy to figure out, but they did a great job of keeping in touch with me, letting me know how it was going. Needless to say, but my clutch is now working better than it has for a long time (13 years and 175,00 miles on the odometer). Thank you Ed and David! You now have a new loyal customer who will soon be in for my next oil change!Service: Transmission

I had a terrible, costly long experience with Roadmasters. My car was towed in since it wouldn't start. After being in their shop 7 days they finally got the car started after advising me the car needed a timing belt which would cost roughly $500. They tore the front of the engine apart to do the timing belt and realized that wasn't the issue. By the time they got the car running (7 days later) by changing the spark plugs (which is what I thought it needed since the car was flooded) they then wanted to install o2 sensors for another $300 since the car was running rough and lean. I had lost confidence in these guys and just got my car out of there. Taking it to my regular mechanic, the car didn't need 02 sensors, but spark plug wires. I replaced those and the car ran beautifully. In the end I think their diagnostics was a wild goose chase for 7 days, especially with the timing belt diagnosis that didn't pan out. I read the other reviews and I'm wondering how I got caught up in this crazy lengthy search on their part since the reviews are very supportive. Really the worst car repair experience I can recall. I had it towed in since my regular mechanic was booked solid, hoping they would help, but never, never again.I do not mind paying for time, expertise and service. I thought it was completely unfair to charge me for the timing belt, which they reduced from my bill after a lengthy conversation with Nate the GM. They charged me $150 for "diagnostics" which is completely unprincipled, since their diagnostics was completely off base and cost me 7 days of my car being out of service. This may be the rare experience for Roadmasters. But it takes a genuinely fair minded and ethical business to say "we blew this one" and the customer shouldn't have to eat our mistakes. But they argued and stood hard on false pretenses and bad data rather than own up and do the fairest and most ethical thing.....and not charge for their mistakes.

Roadmasters is the only mechanic I've been to since I moved to South Boulder and they are fantastic. They are reliable, quick and thorough. All the inspection reports are well documented (with pictures!) and I get a copy sent to my email. I'm moving to the other side of Boulder this summer but will continue to come back to Roadmasters. It's worth the drive!

Excellent overall experience. Replaced 2 front sway bar links on my MB in one hour (wow!) while I waited and charged a very reasonable price (compared to three other auto repair facilities' quotes). Friendly, informative staff. Very pleased. Would return when/if required.Service: Steering & suspension repairService: Steering & suspension repair

I was in desperate need of an oil change when I stopped in on a busy Saturday (pretty much out of oil). They were too busy to fit me in that day, but filled up my oil and scheduled me for a few days later. It was hugely appreciated as I was needing to drive to Denver and didn t want to ruin the engine! I had been at a rapid oil change chain and had been waiting for over an hour and decided to go try somewhere new. So glad I did! You have my business now!
