The problem with trying to be a comparison shopper for auto body services is that initial estimates can be way off, and you don't know the true estimated repair cost until they have your vehicle apart at which point it is really too late to go elsewhere. My experience is a good example.I had a front-end collision in my 2001 4-Runner on a Thursday. Immediately, I took it to Mahnke and a competitor about a block away, Buff's Collision Specialists. With both I emphasized that I did not have comprehensive insurance so I would be paying out of pocket. I also emphasized it is an old vehicle and minor cosmetic problems were low priority.The person who provided the estimate at Mahnke did a quick visual inspection and took some photos. The person at Buff's actually got under the vehicle to inspect for internal damage. The estimate from Mahnke was $1,338, and at Buff's was $2012, but Buff's also included several hundred dollars for a cosmetic grill that the Mahnke estimate did not include.I went with Mahnke and delivered the vehicle on a Monday afternoon so they could begin work on Tuesday morning. As it turns out, they did not begin work until Wednesday, which pushed repairs over the weekend.Both estimates included the usual caveat that there could be additional damage. On Wednesday, I was contacted by Mahnke and told they had found additional damage and the new estimate was now over $1,900 (without the cosmetic grill). I needed the vehicle so I told them to proceed.Ultimately, the vehicle was not ready until the following Monday and the final bill was for $2,117 (without the grill). When I asked why it was $200 more than the last estimate I was given, the explanation was that an additional reinforcement part had been needed.As for the quality of the work, I have no complaints as they seem to have done a good job. Moreover, the vehicle came back clean inside and out.So, do I feel that Mahnke purposefully low-balled their initial estimate to get the business? Graciously, I will say no, I don't. However, they clearly could have and should have done a much more thorough initial inspection and estimate.Service: Body & Trim

Quality shop with great people. They worked quickly to help us with a problem with our vehicle's alternator (not their usual kind of project, but we were in a tight spot and they still offered to help us out), and had us back on the road in just a few hours. I'd definitely recommend Mahnke!

Marty and Mitch are amazing! They do quality work in a timely fashion. My family has had several cars repaired here and every experience has been 5-star! We even bring cars down from the front range to get them repaired here. The customer service is a step above the rest.

This body shop is reasonably priced, lower than surrounding ones. The staff there is great at customer service and get the job done right. I have brought my car there numerous times and it always comes out looking better than coming in. OK, I have a favorite body shop. These folks do great work, efficiently, and work seamlessly with insurance. I just wish those darn deer and elk would stop using my car to bounce around on!

Very helpful, reasonable cost, like the people. Go there they will treat you right
