The service is always really good there. Really great honest mechanic shop that doesn't take advantage of the things that the clients wouldn't know.I've been taking my vehicles there since 2011. They came highly recommended as a shop that would do good work and not try to work me over just because I was a female coming in by myself to get my vehicle taken care of. They have lived up to that reputation and just generally been friendly good people every single time I needed any work done or an oil change over the years.

We were having issues with an exhaust leak on our 2008 Subaru Outback. Gary put it on a lift and took the time to show and explain to us what he thought was likely going on. We talked through options to deal with the issue but the car was so old we decided to postpone getting it repaired.Gary was upfront and took the time to show and explain what was going on. We will continue to use him in the future for exhaust system issues since he was upfront and knowledgeable.

I came to John and the team at Performance Plus after being quoted three times as much for the same job elsewhere... before they even looked at my car. Performance Plus not only gave me fair prices, but also got the job done faster than they had even estimated. Clear communication, fair pricing and speedy turnaround times will definitely keep me coming back.Service: Brakes

Great and honest mechanic. I have taken my car here a couple of times, but this last visit has made me a customer for life.John is honest and upfront. I felt my car had been handling differently, so I asked for an inspection and to also replace a few parts the dealership wanted to charge me for on my last visit. John inspected my truck and found no necessary repairs or parts needed to be replaced. The dealership just wanted to have me pay for an unnecessary fix.For any other mechanic, I would have been a cash cow. But John isn't interested in my wallet; he cares about cars and wants to make sure what needs replacing is done. So although he could have charged me over $120 for labor/hours to inspect my truck, he put it as $50, and I was happy for that.

Performance Plus does excellent work. I take my car in for an oil change, and tire rotation. They also repair my car for other major repairs. If there's anything too technical that they can't repair, they recommend other locations that can do the job. I'm always happy with the work they do.

My husband and I were recently traveling to visit family for Christmas when our truck broke down and needed to be towed. Not being from the area I called them randomly, and at first was told they were booked and then she said to go ahead and bring the truck in. They suggested a towing service and arranged for them to call us. It took awhile to get there and they waited for us until long after they were supposed to be closed for the day and fixed the truck right away. Being in an unfamiliar area, I can t tell you how much it meant to be met with such kindness and competency. I highly recommend Performance Plus to anyone who needs repairs.Service: Brakes

In the past my family has had great experience at Performance Plus. However, I needed a lot of work done on a Subaru Outback I recently purchased. The car needed to have the engine removed in order to fix the head gasket and rear main seal in addition to having its brakes resurfaced and exhaust system repaired due to rust. Every repair went over the initial estimate for cost and over the time they said they could do it in. When repairing the rear main seal and head gasket they took an additional two weeks to finish the work and when it was finished I had to bring the car back three more times (which in all took another 3-4 weeks) to have mistakes corrected including a misinstallation of a fuel injector which caused such a large leak of fuel in my engine that I needed to have it towed back to the shop or risk the car blowing up. After consistently poor service I was glad to at least have my car back and working. However 3 months later be supposedly repaired exhaust and muffler system completely detached from my car while going down the highway. It broke due to rusting out in a section they had repaired partially, I had expected the repair to be better quality and to remain attached to my car. Additionally I was disappointed in feeling that my concerns were not addressed in the shop and that the service I was provided was not the quality I was paying for. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this shop to anyone looking to have large quantities of work done on their car, additionally, if you do take your business to them make sure you understand what you look for in a good fix so you can double check their work. I have no idea how many other issues they may have caused and I have little faith in their work considering how many issues I have had. They have cost me a lot of additional time, money and headaches.Services: Exhaust, Engine repair, Brakes, Brake service & repair, Oil change

Disappointing experience. Came in for an oil change and was told cost is $100-$110. Went to pick up the vehicle and they decided the oil change was $180. Owner begrudgingly knocked off $20. No acknowledgement of any wrongdoing, no apology, definitely not going back. Too bad because I am new to the area and trying to find a reliable shop.

These guys are amazing!!! My car was towed here. I called multiple shops and Performance Plus was the only one who could get me in right away. They repaired my car and checked my fluids for me, all in one day. The staff is friendly and hard working. I can't thank them enough.

Wow. These people were the friendliest, most helpful mechanics I've ever met. I moved here from Arizona a few months ago, and when my car started to shudder while braking on a decline, I knew I had a problem.I went to four separate auto repair places in the Denver area, where I live. All of them found about 7 OTHER things wrong with my car, most of which had nothing to do with the brakes. Then they tried to overcharge me to fix "problems" I didn't even realize were there. They saw that I was a woman and knew I didn't have a clue about cars, and they thought they could get away with it.When I took my car into Performance Plus, I was using it as an excuse to visit Golden. Their shop is very close to the downtown area, so while they fixed my brakes, I went shopping! It was wonderful. The men at Performance Plus were honest and reliable. They gave me all kinds of awesome tourist suggestions about Golden. Then they told me flat-up what was wrong with my car--I needed brake pads and machined rotors. They quoted me a very fair price (several hundred dollars LESS than those other shops), and it only took an hour to fix! They even topped off my antifreeze for free, which was ridiculously nice of them.Overall, the professionalism I encountered here was incredible. They were honest, fairly priced, and fast. My car runs perfectly now, and I know I'll be back to Performance Plus the next time I have issues. It's such a relief to have a reliable mechanic in Colorado!Thank you, Performance Plus! :D

After having my old Jeep Wrangler totaled, I not only had to find another vehicle, but also a new mechanic as I'd only used a place that worked on Jeeps exclusively. I'm a Mines student and these guys are right up the street so I thought I'd give them a try to take care of the older Xterra I bought and I'm glad I did. Larry at the desk kept me updated on the work being done and the mechanic who did the work showed me the old parts he removed and gave me advice on what to watch for in the future. They were honest about what work needed to be done immediately and what could wait. Super nice guys who put me at ease after a stressful few weeks! I'll be taking my Xterra to them for maintenance and repairs. Highly recommend this local shop!

I took my car there in September of 2013 for an oil change. They charged me $30 more than they said they would, $70 for an oil change on a domestic vehicle. and they missed the jacking points on my car and crushed my rocker panels. My car was fine before I took it in and they are denying it was there fault. I would not take my car there at all. They delete all the negative reviews so this one won't be around long.

June 5. Too bad this is not an honest business. My daughter brought her Ford Focus in with an "electrical issue" It would not start but the battery was fine. They charged her $200 to "FIX" it. Two days later same problem. Her friend looked at it and discovered it was a fuse. They replaced the fuse. Great! Two days later, same problem. Fuse blew. Source of problem? Starter? Ignition? It turned out to be a short cause by a loose wire near the starter motor. Two zip strips later problem solved by her friend. We called Performance and told them this story. They told my husband they would refund $100. What did they do for $200 besides replace a fuse? "Diagnosing" they said. No refund has been issued to date.

I would recommend somewhere else, they won't wait when I run short on cash which they told me the estimate then 2 days later they called t come in, after I came in the old the price and car was ready after replacing parts hen I asked them the final total cost but it was 32 bucks more than estimate they told me if I dont get $32 today then the will pull out parts. What a joke. stay away from this shop. I use services from this location since it was "jackson street station" will full services for gas, convenient store and mechanic shop now I am done with them

No hourly rate equates to dishonest pricing. After the job was done they didn't have the decency to complete the process by putting my dashboard back together. I own a van Which requires one to go through the dashboard to get to the engine. They did not reconnect it. The mechanics are freindly enough, however as a business, they made it very clear, make as much as possible in as little time as possible, complete disregard for quality and customer satisfaction.

I have taken my Jeep here twice with success, and the third time did it. I knew what was wrong with my Jeep. The rear brake cylinders were leaking and the brake fluid probably soaked the pads which would mean I would need new ones. Priced that out while they kept my car overnight to diagnose it. It would be less than $60 for the parts at Advance Auto. They call me the next morning and tell me it will be $570-$585 for parts and labor. I ask for an itemized price. They don't do that. I ask what the hourly rate is. They charge by the job, not hourly. I ask why it costs so much. The cleanup job and the brakes are drum brakes which are complicated. Clean up, you mean, spraying brake cleaner and wiping them off. Complicated? There are tools for making drum brakes easier. Performance doesn't have tools that I know are made for making dealing with drum brakes easier? They don't deal with drum brakes all the time? I ask what the diagnostic fee is and he has to call the boss. Weird, the dealership charges $60 for that and can tell me over the phone without calling the big man. Okay. I call Tilden's brake shop in Golden, $280 for parts and labor. That's $300 cheaper. Performance calls back and it's going to be $80 for the diagnostic fee. They took off the tire and the outside of the brake drum, then put it back together. Probably took 30-45 minutes. I got a friend to come get it and I bought the parts and paid him to do the job for me. I feel as though performance might have been trying to take advantage of me because I'm a female and probably don't know all that much about cars. SUCH a RIPOFF. I will not be going back there.

I was a little leery leaving my truck with the folks are Performance Plus as I'm used to working with much larger national shops. However, everyone I spoke to was very knowledgeable and patient. These guys really seem to know Toyotas inside and out. The rear main seal in my Tacoma was replaced ahead of schedule and I'm very confident in the work performed. I'll be back to Performance Plus for the next project that is out of my ability

Car was misdiagnosed by $1,100 we were told that it would take that much to fix the truck so of course we got a second opinion and it turned out it was $2 clamp to fix our power steering. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked if it could have been something that could have been overlooked the other mechanic said absolutely not this was no mistake.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Went in to get 1 axle seal replaced. They kept pushing for further repairs. I told them to only replace one and they replaced both of the rear. The guy on the phone said they replaced both of my brake pads, I mentioned none of that. The only thing you need to know about this shop is that they charge $250 per brake pad replacement. Those things cost $25 max and take 30 min to replace. I would give them only one star but this whole industry are full of people that are looking to put one past you.

I want to thank Perfermance Plus Car Care for helping us out on such a short notice. We had driven from Houston TX when half way to Golden my sons F150 truck ran into issues. I was helping my son move for school and was flying out in a few days. When we took the truck in, we knew it was going to be an extensive job that required days to a week of work. I was very nervous about leaving him with no vehicle and without being able to test drive it myself. The owner knew how worried I was and expedited the job. To our surprise it was finished much sooner than expected. Thank you for all your help!

Friendly but incompetent.I took my truck in for a couple of separate issues, the first of which was to have the rear breaks looked at due to a noise. They replaced the rear brake shoes but forgot to bleed the brakes, rendering the car unsafe to drive and requiring me to bring it back in immediately so they could bleed the brakes. The second issue was that my car was leaking coolant and leaving visible puddles on the ground. They told me that they had fixed the leak which was false as it continued to leak. The "leak" was actually due to a blown head gasket, which was later diagnosed by another mechanic.Furthermore, they told me the front brakes were "thin thin thin" and pushed me to have them changed. I declined because I was comfortable with doing the front brake pads on my own. When I did the front brake pads I discovered that they weren't even at the wear bars and actually had about 40% life left.

I brought my Toyota 4runner in to have a random clunk diagnosed and repaired. As someone who works on their own car, I had exhausted my own diagnostic skills and had figured that I was looking at something expensive to replace. The mechanics here were able to diagnose my problem in a reasonable amount of time, being it was a completely random clunk which is a hairball to find. And they saved me a ton in cash and parts. The mechanics here really know their Toyotas!!!

Have had alot of problems with a vehicle we had a rear main seal & a clutch put in. We have had to take it back 6 or 7 times . left us broke down, had to have someone come pick us up or take me to get it , (supposedly fixed all 6 or 7 times). Still have problems , such as headlights and interior lights pulseate. Which makes driving & seeing at night harder..

I can't say enough about these guys. They are in a class of their own. First off, my girlfriend who is a struggling college student had a blown head gasket in her 2012 Jeep Liberty. The guys not only took that into consideration and helped her out on the price, they went above and beyond. Fixing things for next to nothing that were not even a part of the original estimat but very clearly needed to be addressed for the safety of whoever is driving the car. They didn't try to swindle us or take advantage of our circumstance like many mechanics do. They even worked with us on the timeline for completion and payment as we needed extra time after the holidays to come up with the funds. Stellar, absolutely stellar! Highly recommended.

I tried to get a rough estimate for motor and tranny mounts on my Subaru and was told I would get a call back because they were "too busy" to look into it immediately. I got no call that day, I called back the next day and was again told they would call me back, no call back. I again tried to get a quote again 2 weeks later. No call back. The only reason I really wanted to go to this shop is I work nearby. Apparently they are so busy they dont need my business.

Watch out that you don't get ripped off. They charged $180/hour for a job that took 35 minutes and no cost on parts either. Basically just a simple weld. You should probably take care of the Mines students in town instead of taking advantage of them.
