I came in on a Monday for information, had a car transferred here (from another Carmax location) by Wednesday, and bought it by Thursday. Lauren and her team knocked it out of the park! The process was smooth, easy and a pleasure overall. I really enjoyed it! And the bow on the car was a nice touch!

I did most of my purchase online and over the phone. Both representatives I worked with (one on the phone and one in the store) were great. Quick and painless paperwork once I was in person. The only downside was a 30 minute wait past my scheduled time in the store. Sort of made it seem pointless to even have a time reserved. Other than that it went well.

Lorna was GREAT to work with! Awesome selection of cars. I don't think I saw a single car over 100,000 miles. Super great prices also.We noticed the car had a headlight out about 2 hours after we bought it. We went back the next day, and they replaced the bulb with no questions asked. They even gave us a free bottle of washer fluid for the inconvenience. I would 100% recommend to anyone in the market for a new to you car.

I worked with Christopher Robinson. He s new to the company but he learns quickly & was super helpful and friendly! We test drove the jeep that I picked out online and I ended up financing it. CarMax has amazing customer service and they re super knowledgeable! Will be doing business with them in the future.

I was very happy with my experience with Carmax. They have an extensive inventory around the country. The closing was conducted by Lorna in a very professional and efficient process. There wasn't any pressure as you find in other car dealerships. I recommend them.

The staff was friendly when in store. I was made many guarantees and none of them were fulfilled. When I arrived to pickup my car it was just parked in a parking lot with snow covering it. I sat for 30+ minutes when an associate finally told me that my new purchase was in the parking lot. I had to go find it and then clean the snow off myself! The car was not detailed/cleaned as promised nor was I given a full tank of gas. But the staff was friendly when I was in store.

Was a pleasant buying experience, the issues started when they took my car in for service to fix a few things we had discussed they would in order for me to purchase the vehicle. I was told it would be possibly a week max that they would have my vehicle. They ultimately had it for about 3 weeks, and when I picked it up the car was sitting in the parking lot not behind a gate or anything just free for someone to walk up to and do with as they please ( CarMax location is located in shopping center with high traffic areas). To put the icing on the cake not only was the outside extremely dirty, but as I drove home I noticed dust like from the bottom of someone s shoe or work pants. I understand the technician has to get in the car to fix it but don t you think they would clean it? I do hvac for a living and can t imagine leaving a mess in someone s home. Also the first loaner car they gave me began shifting very rough and I had to swap it out for a new one about a week in. All in all a good experience and I am very pleased with the car and staff just seemed odd to me that they didn t clean it is all.

I wish I could create an SNL skit for y all to truly showcase what an absurdly frustrating experience it is to do business at this establishment. Firstly, it took six days of going back and forth about financing AFTER it was approved. On the actual day of picking up the car, we signed up for express pickup and still spent over three hours to leave with the car. I pray to each and every higher power in existence that you never have to experience shopping here. And if you, bring plenty of snacks and a sleeping bag.EDIT: The nightmare continues. We got the car home and realized the next morning that they never put a temp tag on it. So now we re driving without a tag until they FedEx it to us.

I just sold my car throught Carmax and theh offered me the same as the online estimate. I lolked at 3 other places and Carmax definitely offered the most for my car. It was super quick, easy and Robyn was very helpful during our appointment. I would definitely sell my car to them again.

Seriously, it was the worst experience attempting to purchase a car. We had Sydney - the absolute worst car salesman! I could right away tell he was not paid by commissions. We had a vehicle that we loved transferred down to the Golden location (Kia Sorrento). We arrived later in the afternoon on a Friday. I could tell Sydney wanted to go home almost as soon as he was assigned to us. Well, we were approved, and everything was ready to go.... I could not get one insurance company to insure the car because of high thefts in Colorado. I was devastated. Sydney said welp yeah, I've heard that about these car's. Then, he did not even offer to show us a different car. He said you can come look at other cars we have tomorrow if you want to. Meanwhile, the "manager" (as it said on his nametag) was throwing paper balls into trash can baskets. The next morni, g we were taken care of by AutoNation up the street. Where they made sure we left satisfied. I am still in shock, and this was over a month ago.

Highly recommend (but make an appointment). I had a great experience with this Carmax location, huge shoutout to Tanner Lucas who went above and beyond for me! He made sure that I was taken care of and prioritized.This was such an easy and efficient process, I was in and out in about 45 minutes. The customer service was very friendly, helpful and transparent. I felt like the price they offered for my car was fair. If you're looking to sell your car quickly without too much effort, can't recommend Carmax enough.

The truck was fine but the customer service was not. They were unaware of anything about the truck and gave me incorrect information about payment and then forgot to give me the temporary plates. Their sales team online and in person are very poorly trained. We paid cash so there shouldn't have been all the issues.

Buying a car takes a lot of time and trouble, and these folks make it a lot easier. Their offer on my trade-in was fair and they kept to their word on all matters as I awaited my car to ship in. I would definitely use their service again.

We had such a wonderful experience purchasing our car at CarMax in Golden. Each staff member was friendly, attentive, helpful and genuinely excited about our purchase. We came out to find a big yellow bow on our new used car, which has no indication of being used except for the miles, making our experience even better. We so appreciated this personal touch and the great customer service we received! Keep up the good work, CarMax!! Thank you!!

We were in from out-of-town to move my elderly mother to a retirement community. She had retired from driving her Volvo XC60 and needed to sell it. We took it to CarMax and they gave a fair buy price. This price was only guaranteed for a week but we needed the car for another 3 weeks until we left. We put another 1,000 miles on the car in this time but it was exactly the same. When we brought the car back to do the deal, the price was $1,600 less than the original. We expected that it would be slightly less, but not that much. Very disappointed! Turns out that the friendly people at the dealership have nothing to do with valuing the car which is done at a centralized location. They couldn t really explain why the price was so different and didn t have any power to negotiate. We drove away with our car and won t recommend CarMax.

I've purchased 2 vehicles from the Carmax in Golden, both being wonderful experiences. With decades of buying and selling vehicles, I am now a "Carmax guy" and will continue to purchase any future vehicles with Carmax. Staff is consistently solid and have been willing to replace tires on an otherwise pristine truck.Highly recommend.

This is a great place to upgrade to a newer vehicle. They are a 1 stop shop as they buy your old car and you can apply the credit to a new one. They also offer financing of course. The staff are super friendly and are not pushy in the least bit. You can check out the inventory or walk the lot to see what is available. The best part is they will transfer inventory to different stores across the country based on your needs. We have bought 2 vehicles thru carmax and plan on using them in the future.

I cannot say enough good things about Wes, the GM, and his team!!! Wes is absolutely incredible. He exemplifies what great customer service should look like and what all GMs should aspire to emulate.Tanner, one of the senior team members working for Wes is also an incredible sales person. He is a proud veteran and has served our country honorably. The characteristics that you would expect to see in a member of the armed forces are readily apparent in how he conducts himself.In addition to Wes and Tanner, there was not one staff member that I interacted with that did not impress me. When you enter the store you are immediately greeted in a professional and courteous manner. It is obvious that the team reflects the professional, ethical, and absolute customer service driven mentality that you find in Wes. He is truly a kind and professional person. One way that I gauge a sales organization is whether or not I would trust them to interact with my mom, wife, or daughter and not try to pull a fast one. I can say unequivocally that you can trust that Wes and his team will treat you or your family members with the upmost respect and work hard to find you the vehicle that is right for you.If you are looking for a vehicle, you should absolutely go see Wes and his team at the Golden, CO CARMAX! Even if you have to drive a long distance. Trust me, you ll be glad you did!!!!!

Tanner and Loren were extremely helpful in sorting through an otherwise difficult situation. They provided insight and broke information down in a way that was clear and easy to understand. As a team, they made the car buying experience as least stressful as possible and worked through every question and hang up. Tanner was incredibly easy to work with when completing paperwork. He was delicate to what could be an awkward situation with a legal name change and handled the exchange so thoughtfully. Tanner was patient as we had to make several phone calls to my co-buyer and he made sure to keep the situation light with lots of laughs and personality. I will continue using CarMax time and time again because it truly is a wonderful experience each time.

CarMax Golden Colorado has the best employees in the Nation.From the moment I stepped into the door I was treated with the upmost respect, happiness ,and communication. no tricks. 5 months later and this store is the only CarMax I trust with my Car. I am beyond grateful for this team.They have unknowingly saved me through their outstanding customer service.

Don't waste your money on the MaxCare extended car warranty. Here I am once again with this vehicle purchase coming back to haunt me. I have had my car two years now and nothing has been what was PROMISED! I have purchased three cars from CarMax in the past with their extended warranty and I had vouched for their warranty for years. I used to tell people they were insane if they didn't purchase the MaxCare extended warranty. I had always found it a peace of mind having their warranty. On my previous two vehicles I never had an issue getting repairs completed and covered. I liked that I could take my car to a CarMax dealership or a dealership of my choosing, (I don't mind paying the deductible to go directly to a manufacturer dealership), to have repairs performed. I personally prefer to take my current car to the Nissan dealership for all of my vehicle maintenance and repairs. I have put roughly 23,000 miles on my car since I purchased it in May of 2021 and I have had to take my car in two times for repairs and each time has been a nightmare trying to get anything approved for clearly covered items. Each issue has been a power train issue and each time I ultimately ended up out of pocket for a majority if not all of the cost. Most recently, (my third time attempting to get a repair completed), I've had to bring my car to Nissan for a transfer case axel seal leak. CarMax states they will only cover part of the repair, (the least expensive part of the repair), but not the full repair because there was a presence of rust around the axel bearing... It's underneath the car... No duh there is a presence of rust. It is NOT what led to failure of any of the components nor is it the reason for the repair. It is merely because it was present. So now I get to pay around $1,000.00 in repairs. CarMax said they will cover the cost of the seal itself but none of the work that needs to be done so the seal can be replaced. This company has completely lost its integrity. I have now bought this warranty in repairs CarMax has denied through their warranty. Everyone thinks about the car buying experience in the moment. I'm just trying to save you headache and frustration down the road. It is extremely frustrating that a once reputable company that used to back it's products has reduced itself to "sleezy car salesman" tactics to save a buck. I will never refer this company or their products again.

This review is not a reflection of Carmax as a company but of this Carmax location ONLY. My family have always done business with Carmax and we've never had a bad experience until we went to the Golden location. We found a car we liked so much but it was only available at this location. Unfortunately, they have inexperienced and unprofessional workers who don't know the value of good customer service and how to be efficient at their job, except Travis. Of the 4 people I encountered there, Travis was the only one with professionalism. He greeted me with a smile, went through my paperwork effeciently, and he turned my experience from worse to better. I don't know if he's the sales manager or not, but if he isn't he should. If for whatever reason you have to go to this location, ask for Travis. If he's not available on the day of your visit and you don't mind driving to another location for better service, go to the Carmax at 104th in Westminster. I promise you won't be disappointed. Carmax is a great company for buying cars, however, they employ too many lazy and incompetent people who treat customers like they're dollar signs instead of people. Also, don't call the phone number on their website. It will connect you to the call center and you'll be lucky if the person who answers is competent and knows how to help you, because you'll be transferred from person to person and end up being on the phone for an hour without what you need. I'm happy with my purchase, despite the initial experience I had at this location. It was such a disappointment. I just want people to know that this place lacks good customer service, and if I can help someone avoid having the experience I had, then this long review was worth writing.

I had to take the car back windshield wipers were broke. Wh n I took it back they only fixed one side. Also noticed the window doesn't roll down on passenger side from th driver's panel. I thought they checked small stuff first before putting it on the lot. Not that satisfied

CarMax bought my car for what they quoted me online. The entire process was fast and painless. Especially after a very negative experience with AutoNation Subaru West down the street, CarMax was quick and painless.

My first time shopping at Carmax and it was the best car buying experience ever! Kristen was just awesome and was very helpful in buying a nice looking Audi. No pressure and very reasonable prices and trade in purchase. Will be buying all future cars from these great people. It was really nice not feeling like red meat with a bunch of sharks swimming around :) All interactions with staff was very pleasant and really got the impression they enjoyed working at Carmax.

Worst sales service ever. Sydney was absolutely the worst sales man ever and offended me making it seem like I couldn't afford the car I was looking at and seemed to have no desire to sell me the car as well as no one there doesn't seem to know anything about the cars they sell they Just get it off the trailer and try to sell them so don't even bother asking questions about a car cause they won't know. Went to stevenson lexus dealer and bought the same car with a 1000x better buying experience

This was my first time ever working with CarMax and I am still extremely happy with my decision to sell my previous car and buy a new car with them! My salesperson, Robert, was SO amazing and I have nothing but praise for him! I was super nervous heading into CarMax but left feeling genuinely sad because my time with Robert was over! I have definitely converted to the CarMax family and I can t wait to purchase another vehicle with them!
