My mom and I stayed at the Wild Horse Inn for a girls' weekend away and it was absolutely perfect. I have two little kids and the quiet peacefulness of this place was exactly what I needed. The breakfast was so good, and they packed us a to-go breakfast for the day we left because we had to get going early. We also got the hiking package and it was great! We hiked up to Columbine Lake and were so glad for the use of the trekking poles. The sandwiches were so yummy and the energy bars, oranges, and cookies were a fun addition to the backpack lunch. Then the charcuterie board and wine when we got back was the perfect way to recuperate after our hike. We had so much fun, and we're hoping to make this an annual girls' trip!

We really enjoyed our stay celebrating an anniversary and relaxing after a work event. The hosts were very nice and prepared a delicious breakfast every morning. The mountain sunrise is perfect for photography enthusiasts. It snowed during our October visit which gave us early Christmas vibes. Highly recommend to those wanting a cozy cabin experience.

Driving back home from Las Vegas, we needed a midpoint stop in the mountains of Colorado and decided to put google review to the test. Wild Horse Inn kept appearing as a quality lodging. So I made a call but wasn t able to get through and left my number. Within minutes I had a response and was fortunate that a cancellation had just made a room available. Chris was so accommodating and even provided the best places to eat as we would be arriving late in the evening. Upon arrival we found a beautiful log cabin Inn that was warm and cozy despite the outdoor chill. After settling in to our beautiful room, we enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine by the gorgeous fireplace. The next morning, we were treated to a delicious homemade breakfast. John and Chris are the epitome of gracious hosts, and to top it, Bella (their rescue dog) is a top-notch greeter. We loved this place and can t wait to come back and try the cabin.

Wild Horse Inn was the perfect choice for a getaway from city living. As opposed to a hotel in the crowded ski areas, there is a wonderful feeling of peace and quiet amid the pines. There are stunning views from the main lodge deck. The location is excellent for downhill skiing at Winter Park and ideal for Cross Country skiing as Devil s Thumb Ranch is very close and YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch is just down the road. We spent 2 nights in the Mariposa Cabin It is made of logs and has great western ambiance. The cabin was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. We loved sitting by the fireplace. The owners Chris and John were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the food and also the wine that is offered in the evening. (Small Note: We chose the cabin because my husband is on a very restricted diet and we brought his food with us. The kitchenette does have a microwave and a very small refrigerator but no stove. I failed to notice this in the description. This was not a problem for us at all as our food was meant to be microwaved and we were only staying 2 nights.) We look forward to staying here again.

Beautiful, welcoming cabin in the woods. Great views of the Rocky mountains. Walls are a bit thin, but not bad at all! Just come prepared if you're a light sleeper just in case.My husband and I visited with our baby boy for the Thanksgiving holiday and had a fabulous time with the other guests and with Donna, Guest Services and chef extraordinaire! We snow-shoed right out the back door, soaked in the hot tub, ate delicious breakfasts and a Thanksgiving feast, and slept REALLY well because the sheets were so soft and the bed was comfortable. We had all the comforts! Lydia was great, too. We really appreciated the hospitality and will hopefully be back again.

I loved the place. Set back on a county road, away from ski developments. Very private. Stayed in dog-friendly cabin. Nice southwestern decor. Most of all, the bed was awesome. You melt in it. The breakfasts were excellent and too big for me to eat everything. The only glitch was very spotty internet access in the cabin, not in the lodge. I hope to make Wild Horse a new 'home away from home'.

My fianc and I spent two nights in the sage room. We can t express how relaxing and homey the inn felt. Chris s breakfasts were fantastic! The first morning was a southwest frittata and the second morning lemon crepes. The meals were perfect and we had the option to eat in the great room or use a table in our room. The atmosphere was perfect and Chris was a perfect host. We also loved the house dog Bella. The room was bright and airy and the fireplace was a romantic touch. We were also able to borrow some snowshoes for an adventure. We can t wait to come back and stay in one of the cabins next time! Highly highly recommend this beautiful, well cared for getaway.

My friend booked us a one night stay at Wild Horse Inn. The Inn is located in a beautiful area with breathtaking views! We live in Lakewood so it only takes about an hour to get here but you still feel very far from the city. The area is secluded, quiet and we saw butterflies, hummingbirds, sparrows and bluebirds! The receptionist was one of the most friendly and helpful individuals I ve ever met. She showed us around and told us there was complimentary tea, coffee, hot cocoa and a bottomless cookie jar! The grounds are well maintained and the rooms are rustic but modern and cozy. Our room had a balcony and a jet bathtub which I took full advantage of. They have a hot tub and places to lounge and relax throughout the property. It very much feel like a home away from home. It was unbelievably quiet and in the morning we had a delicious, homemade, fresh breakfast. Lastly, there is great hiking and lots to do in town! Would definitely recommend! We are planning annual trips now and I d love to bring my boyfriend as this place is very romantic! Thanks again for everything!!!

They say that what makes a bed and breakfast truly wonderful is all the "small details". Let me just say, the Wild Horse Inn nailed ALL the details of our incredible stay, both big and small. From the soft bathrobes and sleigh of bottomless cookies, to the cozy ambience, friendly customer service, and ideal, secluded location (just a stone's throw from world-class cross country skiing) everything about our stay was perfect. I highly recommend taking advantage of their new dinner program, where you can purchase a full meal for two, at a very reasonable price, to enjoy in the comfort of your own room. The enchiladas were to die for! I can't wait to try the Italian sausage lasagna and green chili options when I return in just a few weeks. That's right - I had such a positive experience at the Wild Horse Inn that I am returning to this magical place less than a month later.

I m hesitant to even post this because I want Wild Horse Inn to never be too booked for us to go (lol). Our stay at Wild Horse Inn was absolutely amazing. We have traveled and stayed in many places in CO and also all around the US- and this is BY FAR amongst the top 2 places we ve stayed. Secluded. Amazing staff and owners. Phenomenal breakfast made fresh every morning. Beautiful rooms. Secluded. Beautiful Mountain View. A hot tub. The list goes on. All my friends that saw pictures also said that it s probably the coolest place we ve stayed so far- so again, it s THAT amazing. Thank you, Wild Horse Inn, for the best stay!

Wild Horse Inn is the picture of peace and tranquillity. Hummingbirds and wildflowers grace the grounds, and both the main house and cabins are simply beautiful. We stayed in the Saddleblanket Cabin, and loved every minute. We watched the sunset from our porch each evening, slept incredibly well on the amazing king bed with unbelievably soft sheets, and soaked in the quiet, natural surroundings. John was the perfect host, always there to help with recommendations for restaurants and things to do. I have been to many B&Bs, and this is definitely one of the best I have ever visited. We ll be coming back again, many times.

Overall a beautiful place with a few areas with room for improvement. Please note that any complaints I list below are minor and are not individually impactful for any potential future return visits. The two that I would suggest improving most are to improve the beds / pillows and better breakfast set-up for people staying in the cabins.Pros:- GORGEOUS surrounding landscape- Many wintry activities nearby if you're looking to get out and about during a stay for the snow-season- Cabins are very cozy and well above average on their decor- Cabins are remarkably warm with a wonderful (and effective) fireplace- Hostess was kindly, welcoming, and pleasant- Relaxing "off-grid" and relatively secluded location- Free wine, coffee, tea, and bottomless cookies!!!Cons:- Romantic Package for $100 included a dozen roses that, though large, barely lasted 2 days, a VERY small selection of chocolates which could not have cost $5, a "breakfast in bed" which we had to go get and was unimpressive, and a decent (but probably over-priced) bottle of champagne.- Romantic Package was requested to be a surprise, was charged to separate credit card, and given a separate email for confirmation. Receptionist sent the bill and confirmation to wrong email (nearly spoiling the surprise).- Breakfast left a bit to be desired and was far below what was expected for the cost of the venue.- Bed was a bit saggy and not terribly comfortable.- Pillows had ZERO support and made sleeping difficult (neck cricks)- Jacuzzi was billed as being big enough for 2. It is EXPLICITLY for one person, 2 people can BARELY fit, and only one person can sit where the bubbles are.- Not enough hot water to fill Jacuzzi even after 20 minutes.- Kitchenette in cabin lacked heating elements other than coffee pot, electric kettle, and microwave (a minor complaint, but worth mentioning as the site does not state what is in the kitchenette that we saw).

We cannot emphasize enough how much we enjoyed our stay!! The owners were fantastic and very friendly! We enjoyed each of our breakfasts, and even our to go breakfast meals were delicious! The owners were very hospitable and helpful! Thank you for a great 15th Anniversary get away!! We hope to stop in next year and say hello when we bring the kids on vacation! Thank you both so very much!

The Wild Horse Inn was the perfect end to our Colorado trip! The inn has the most beautiful mountain backdrop and cozy log cabin feel that make you never want to leave. Our host was so helpful to us while we were planning activities, and she made the most delightful breakfasts to get us fueled for our adventure-packed days. We will definitely be back!

John and Chris take impeccable care of this place! Everything in the Saddleblanket cabin was perfection and of the highest quality. The highlight, however, was the food!!! If you don t grab the fresh cookies and free wine they leave out every afternoon, you re doing it wrong. Both breakfasts were excellent, and we paid extra for two dinners that were also to die for. The best part? Portion sizes were big enough that we could make two meals out of each!

Would definitely recommend for a special event or event a romantic getaway. It's driving distance to great hiking trails and cross-country skiing.

The Wild Horse Inn is one of my favorite places. This is out second time staying there and was just as great as the last time. It's in a secluded area of Fraser but still close to many activities and restaurants. The atmosphere is friendly and very welcoming. Erica is always around to help with anything and does anything and everything with a smile. We went during COVID regulations and felt so safe on the premises. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a mountain getaway. Also, breakfast is always delicious!

We took advantage of all wildhorses amenities! B&B and wedding venue/ reception! Private cabin, kid-friendly, dog-friendly, hot tub, cozy fireplace, private jacuzzi tub, delicious breakfast made for you! Heck, Donna even made my plate. As for the best wedding ever, from the coordinator Katie to the entire wild horse catering company.. Donna The Innkeeper and John the owner period every single person was nice and treated us like family. Not to mention took care of all my family before and after the ceremony. This place does not deserve one bad review! If you can't enjoy the beauty, and can't be pleased by their hospitality, you don't deserve to be in the mountains. Such an unforgettable experience, we will definitely be back! Thanks again to Donna, John, Katie, and all the kind & helpful staff.

WE LOVED HER! Brian was so attentive with everything, too!
