Nice lodge with a homey feel. A bit dated and needing some deferred maintenance addressed, but a decent spot. There is an indoor pool and hot tub, but the pool was cold (they said it was 82 but the water was downright cold, the kids turned blue and the adults got out almost immediately because it was so cold) and the hot tub was really in need of a cleaning--the water was brownish gray, not clear, and there was hair, dirt and yuck at the bottom. The pool needed a cleaning also, but the hot tub was far worse. The area is pretty and the staff was nice, and it's just enough off of the beaten path to make it feel remote while making a drive to town reasonable.

This mountain lodge is a great find! Carla and Mike are super friendly and wonderful hosts. I was traveling alone unexpectedly and they made my stay so wonderful. The bed was super comfortable and I actually like that they don't have TVs!! They were more than happy to help me with a couple of small requests. I will definitely be back again!! thank you both!

Hideaway is a great find! We stayed for 2 nights and the family loved the pool/hottub area. The game room was fun with room for more than one group; we played pool, chess, and watched a movie. We wanted a place to relax and it felt like home away from home; so much nicer than a busy crowded hotel. Would recommend!!!Breakfast was top notch as well with plenty of options.

This is a hidden gem! We spent the night here on vacation and do not regret anything about it, except that we couldn't stay longer! The hosts are terrific! They were extremely friendly and accommodating the entire time we were there and provided anything that we could want. The coffee and tea that was available anytime you wanted along with the fresh baked cookies was a nice added bonus. We had an enjoyable time visiting with the hosts and their neighbor! The breakfast that was included was also top notch. The rooms were clean and provided everything that we needed. Thanks Mike and Carla! If we're ever in the area again we will definitely consider staying here again!Food & drinks: Coffee and tea is available anytime you want and there is fresh baked cookies available every day. Also breakfast is included, you fill out a form the evening before for what you want and the next morning you are served breakfast, table service and all!

Overall this place is awesome! We stayed here for just one night on our way to another place, but I will be planning to come back. They've got a nice pool, hot tub, sauna, outdoor activities (when it's warm), and great hospitality. Just 10 minutes from Fraser CO let's you get a true outdoors feeling of adventure while still providing a quick trip into town for winter park activities.

This place is amazing. The person who checked us in was very nice. She offered us tea, coffee, hot choco when we arrived. She also gave us a quick tour before we settled in. The room was very neat, clean and spacious. I like the bed, very comfortable and the pillows were soft. The place is secluded so it's very peaceful and quiet. It has a good views of the mountain. They're very organize even the breakfast. I like how they manage things. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

I'm so happy to have stumbled upon this place searching for a place to stay on our trip through Colorado. It's off the beaten path but well worth the travel. The scenery was peaceful, the rooms were comfy, and the made to order breakfast made me feel spoiled. Mike and Carla were so kind to us and helped us navigate to Rocky Mountain National Park. Hope to visit again soon!

My family loved Hideaway! Amazing location close to all area attractions, but secluded and peaceful. Spotlessly clean. Luxurious mattress and linens. The Mountain View from our suite took my breath away every morning (and the altitude lol). Owners were the most welcoming and courteous bnb hosts. Delicious breakfast, tea, coffee and cookies available all day. Wood burning fire in the room was so special.Perfect stay. Will be back next year.

To sum it up, WOW. This place is wonderful.. To start the views are impeccable. The pool/hot tub and game room were packed with fun things to do, you never had to go into town for anything! The breakfast was fantastic, so many options, the beds were very comfortable and last but not least the hosts were the sweetest. We will be back soon!

Our host gave us hot chocolate, tea, and coffee with cookies when we arrived and we played Chinese Checkers in their large dining room. We also had delicious personalized breakfast with baked bacon wrapped eggs, mixed fruit, a muffin or English muffin, juice and more hot chocolate, tea, and coffee. We enjoyed chatting with our hosts and learned more about other activities of snowshoeing and cross country skiing on nearby sheep mountain with the YMCA camp. We were there for a couple days of downhill skiing at Winter Park.

Simply put, this lodge is amazing. Everything about it makes you feel right at home. The couple who runs the lodge are every accommodating and the sweetest people you'll meet. There is tea and hot cocoa available all day and fresh baked cookies that are always available. I have to admit I ate an embarrassingly large number of cookies, that were just too good. The lounge area was the perfect place to relax after a hike, my fiance and I watched old childhood movies on VHS(there are over 600 titles) and played a few games of pool. The room's were great, they were cozy and clean. The shower has great water presser and heat. The beds are firm but comfortable with nice soft sheets. The breakfasts that are offered and great and the perfect way to start your day.Overall I would give the hideaway mountain lodge a 10/10 and will be my new go to for long weekend getaways.

We stayed for two nights the Hideaway Mountain Lodge in July 2021. Our whole family was very impressed with this hotel as well as the married couple who owns and operates it. The rooms were unique and very clean. They have several things to do on-site such as a pool, hot tub and game room. There is also a very nice hiking trail nearby which was recommended to me by one of the owners. The breakfast provided is absolutely fantastic. They have several options to choose from and you place your order the evening before for a specific time. My daughter (who is a picky eater) was not very interested in her breakfast one morning. Mike (the owner) offered to cook her some chocolate chip pancakes instead and of course that worked. I really couldn't imagine a better place to stay.

Far and away the most wonderful stay I've had anywhere. Our trip which was initially planned at some Viking Lodge in WP, turned out to be a disaster with dirty rooms and nobody on site to help us. We quickly looked for other options and came across this gem of a place farther north in Fraser. We called and the owners were so gracious and accomadating. The moment we arrived you could feel the love and care that have put into this tucked away mtn retreat. It felt more like staying at a bed and breakfast. The food was amazing, the room with real wood fireplace and mountain view was such a special touch. They gave us a tour of the property and made us feel like a part of their family. The next day we didn't have any plans and they recommended snowshoing (even letting us borrow their snowshoes for a beautiful hike up the road). So thankful to have discovered this hidden treasure and the most loving hosts. I will always cherish this place and just booked a return trip for New Years :)

If I were limited to a single word to describe Hideaway Mountain Lodge it would be "Wonderful!". Quaint old mountain lodge feel but modern enough construction to not have typical old mountain lodge eccentricities. The owners, Mike and Carla, are the nicest people ever. Our off-season stay meant fewer guests so I had a chance to visit with them every morning. It's always fun getting to know the folks who run the place, especially when they are so pleasant. The location is great. It feels remote without actually being so. The lodge is just far enough out of Fraser to make it quiet and peaceful but still close enough to be convenient. It's a five minute drive into town at the most leisurely of paces. We were in the Preserve (room 14). Being an upper floor on the back of the lodge meant it didn't have the great view afforded some front rooms, but the upper driveway gave us super easy right-at-the-door access for loading/unloading. A nice touch for us flatlanders not used to the altitude. The room was spotlessly clean, everything worked, supplies were well stocked, and the bed comfy. Possibly a bit firm for some tastes but fine for us. Their claim of non-smoking is absolutely true. We didn't detect a hint of cigarette smoke, old or otherwise, anywhere on the property. The owners might consider adding a suitcase stand but otherwise the room was great.Carla is a wonderful cook and Mike serves a mean cup of coffee. We were there four days and every breakfast was superb. The expansive deck was a lovely place to enjoy the stunning view while surrounded by ever-present hummingbirds. We didn't use the pool or game rooms but they were large, clean, and appeared well-maintained. I expect families or younger couples will find them quite enjoyable. The only caveat relates to internet access. The lodge's rural location means data service is still DSL-based. Speeds are fine for light remote officing or occasionally checking email, but can be limiting for anything more bandwidth-hungry like watching movies or livestreaming. We weren't there to camp in our room so it didn't bother us at all, but folks more tied to streaming services might take heed. The lodge positively drips Pride of Ownership from every wooden beam, the location is lovely, and it's obvious Mike and Carla are truly committed to their guests' comfort and enjoyment. We WILL be going back.A couple of asides about local attractions...If you decide to visit Rocky Mountain National Park and want to get there before the 9am "reservation required" restriction, beware of travel time. The Grand Lake entrance is a solid 50 minute drive in light traffic. We were almost too optimistic, flying into the entry station in a cloud of dust with a mere two minutes to spare. That merited a wry smile and good-natured "Cutting it a bit close this morning, are we?" from the park ranger. Give yourself at least an hour. There's also a nearby scenic drive I'd never even heard of. It's Trough Road which begins just south of Kremmling, a town about half an hour west of Granby (a pretty drive in it's own right). If you're going anywhere west from Fraser, consider taking Trough Road. It's a cut through the mountains roughly following the Colorado River. You end up back on a main road 45 minutes or so north of Wolcott. It's unpaved but you couldn't tell. It's prepared gravel and in better shape than most of the highways (avoid I-70 between Idaho Springs and Vail at all costs. It is truly awful in both traffic and road condition). Jaw-dropping views, especially on the western half as you drop down into the canyon. White-knuckle types might want to up their heart meds first but it is ever so worth it. I would travel a significant distance out of my way to drive this road again. I-70 at Wolcott is in much better shape and less heavily traveled, plus it put you just up the road from Glenwood Canyon, an experience in itself.

We stayed at this place on a recent trip to Winter Park. We stayed for only one night but would definitely stay again the next time we visit Winter Park. The location is great and the lodge has beautiful views of the Colorado landscape. Our room had very comfortable beds and a nice wood burning fireplace. We also enjoyed Carla's homemade breakfast. It was a very nice way to start the day. I would definitely recommend this place.

I could go on and on about this place! The owners put so much love and care into it and we had an amazing time! Meals are homemade and absolutely amazing! Our room was cozy and warm, and the hot tub was the best after skiing all day. We will definitely return.

Great place to stay, clean and cozy, great service, absolutely fantastic breakfast. Do not expect luxury, it is not. I loved the wood fireplace in the room instead of TV, location is good, about 15 min drive to the slopes, also there's a complimentary shuttle service! Highly recommend!

Have been meaning to write a review on this place for a while now. Amazing service, breakfast was so refreshing after a previous day of skiing and snowboarding. Filled you up and got you ready for another day of it. Amazingly clean rooms, that don't smell just sterile like a lot of places do, had an actual home-y feel to it. Loved the cute little names for the rooms as well.
