As a woman who has been taken advantage of by unscrupulous mechanics in the past, I cherish Fort Collins 4x4 for their refreshing honesty, integrity and friendly, knowledgeable people.I started taking all my family s vehicles (even cars) to Fort Collins 4x4 because they are the only mechanic shop I trust completely.Owned & operated by a local, upstanding Fort Collins family, their new building is modern, clean, stylish and comfortable. My favorite aspects of Fort Collins 4x4 include:- State-of-the art technology with price quote approvals sent via text with a thorough description & photographs of repairs suggested. You can approve or decline each listed item and see exact costs to ensure repairs remain within your budget.- As you walk through the front doors, there is a stylish, cozy waiting area with assortment of coffees & tea.- Sparkling clean bathrooms you could literally eat off the floor in.- Friendly and knowledgeable team who discuss repairs in a low-pressure, honest, straightforward manner.- Modern, state-of-the-art building and equipment. As a woman, I feel a sense of comfort walking through the front doors and seeing both male and female employees working in all areas of the business (not just women at the front desk).I highly recommend Fort Collins 4x4 because it is a rare mechanic shop I would feel comfortable sending elderly parents or my teenage daughter to for any auto repair knowing they will be treated with respect, dignity and honesty.

I m 100% satisfied with my recent experience at Fort Collins 4x4. I was a bit nervous to have a lift kit installed on my 2021 GMC Sierra that required cutting and welding on my crossmember. All around they were very professional, polite, punctual and understanding of my concerns. I appreciate their dedication to their work, really feels like they love what they do for a living. Which is rare these days. Truck turned out great, Thanks Fort Collins 4x4 Crew!Services: Steering & suspension replacement, Vehicle Inspection, Wheel alignment, Auto maintenance

Highly recommend Fort Collins 4x4, as I have great respect for the way they do business. Appreciate their quality, honest approach and the integrity they have exercised working on my SUV. Impressed with both the special suspension work they ve done for me, as well as the routine maintenance. I ve seen both the owners and the staff operate in a really upstanding way. So glad to have a shop I can trust!

Fort Collins 4x4 was a refreshing experience from most other automotive service shops. I needed new shocks, struts, wheels, and tires. They were patient walking me through how to implement what I wanted and working within my budget. They were clearly experienced in what they do and the end result spoke for itself. I was extremely happy with every part of the process. Will be going back as long as I'm in the northern front range and highly recommend for anyone else.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension replacement, Vehicle Inspection, Wheel alignment

The Absolute Worst at wheel alignment... Beware, if you expect an alignment to be done correctly, better go elsewhere. I used FC 4x4 for a 2in lift on a 2009 Colorado. Wheel alignment was done in the same visit. Everything seemed to go well. After about six months, the truck pulled hard to right. In June, took it back to fc4x4 and paid 115 for another alignment. Truck drove straight, but the tires started getting super worn very quick, in two months my tread measurement was 0/32" inner and 8/32" outer. Two front tires ruined. Third party alignment service - $109, Replacing 1 pair of Falkens costing $630. Their service has really gone down hill.Service: Wheel alignment

4x4's Master Diesel Tech, Kevin, is fantastic!! He easily diagnosed, and repaired what I thought was a scrap-yard worthy issue with my Power Stroke... The team got me back up and running in a super timely manner (despite a global pandemic, I might add). My go-to shop for both off-road, and diesel repairs!

I had gone to at least three other places to try to help fix my car. All of the other places I went to were either rude, unhelpful or everything above. (My car death wobbled when braking) The folks here went above and beyond, and when I got my car back, they had even fixed my windshield wipers! I can t imagine taking my car anywhere else

Friendly service and quality work, they make sure to do the job right. Dustin really helped me to nail down exactly what I wanted to have done. Justin did an excellent job installing my AEV lift with steering stabilizer, front bumper with winch, relocating the stock fog lights, K&N cool air intake, and peddle commander along with new front, rear tail lights and getting my A pillar fog lights wired correctly. Very pleased with how my 10 year old Jeep looks and rides now.Services: Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment, Battery, Oil change

Fort Collins 4x4 installed a Tonneau cover for my Tacoma and it looks amazing. Their responsiveness during the quote and scheduling were prompt and the workmanship was great. When I went to pick up my truck they took the time to show me what was done and the in and outs of the tunneau cover. I had the opportunity to talk with several of the staff and each one was helpful and addressed my questions. I will be using Fort Collins 4x4 for all my Tacoma work.Service: Body & Trim

I bought a crossover kit for my Dodge Ram (from a company not affiliated with Fort Collins 4x4), ran into a few issues after I did the install and decided to take it here to see if my measurements checked out and to get an alignment done. Extremely nice people and great customer service. They got me squared away within a couple of days. I will be going back so they can shorten my drag link, since the company I purchased this kit from won't return phone calls or e-mails. If you have a heim joint setup, need an alignment or whatever, take it HERE. They know what they're doing.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

I had a 2.5" lift, tires, wheels, and nerf bars installed, and now it looks like a new truck. I just love the look, and Fort Collins 4x4 did a great job! I would rate them a 5, however some of the other things they found on the truck that needed fixed were a tad bit high on the estimates, and I was able to find a more reasonable price at some other shops in town. I also had an issue with the wheels I ordered that came with the wrong lug nuts. Instead of contacting me about the issue and possibly having the vendor send the correct ones, they went ahead and ordered another set that cost an extra 60 bucks. Wish they would have given me the option instead of making it for me, but other than that it was a great experience, and I love the way my truck looks, and performs.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Steering & suspension replacement, Vehicle Inspection, Wheel alignment

This place is phenomenal and cant say enough good things about them. I brought my 1975 CJ5 to them after a shop in Denver replaced the engine and ignored a lot of the other issues with the jeep mechanically. These guys took their time to ensure that everything was done properly. They are also very creative and were willing to take on any crazy idea i had for modifications to the Jeep and trailer. Justin took on every modification and custom addition and found a way to make them work on such an old jeep. If there was something they werent sure about they would research the issue and find the solution. They are very patient and want to get things done right, they dont want to send you out of the shop as fast as possible to then have things malfunction on you. This is the only shop in town that I will take my vehicles to for work.

Alright holy moly these guys are the real deal. I drove from 144th and I-25 to get my 91 blazer worked on from references locally. So I had the death wobble and yes it sucked bad. Dustin and the entire crew took care of the situation. I initially called up thinking I needed a new steering stabilizer, well not so much ended up being ball joint, gear box, u joint, etc. Anyway to sum things up, my ride is back in action and wish I could post pictures. Freaking incredible tired of the beat down want to be mechanics really no need to list, just do yourself a favor and go here. In in out in a day pretty impressive and every one is pretty chill and straight forward what else do you want! I'm just saying......

If you re looking for honest and reliable mechanics, this is the place. I ve had all three of my vehicles in for various repairs. Some repairs done as described, some not done because, well, they called and said, the work is not needed, saving me hundreds. When was the last time you found an honest repair shop like this? Thanks Fort Collins 4x4! I always appreciate your honesty.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Oil change

These guys really mean it when their sign says that integrity is part of their mission. I am always a bit nervous as a woman going to get my truck fixed. These guys renewed my faith in good business. I can't tell you how happy I was that they found an issue that another mechanic missed. I am a customer for life.Service: Steering & suspension replacementService: Steering & suspension replacement

The folks and service they provide is the BEST I have experienced in the automotive service industry. They were very informational and respectful answering any questions or concerns I had while getting my 2012 Nissan Titan suspension. After a year of strenuous wildfire mitigation work, and highway miles the truck is still driving straight and the suspension has performed better than it ever has!Thank you to all those who were involved!-RyanServices: Steering & suspension repair, Steering & suspension replacement, Wheel alignment

Considering the auto repair industry is full of scammers - Fort Collins is fortunate to have this place. Always honest, willing to go the extra mile, extremely efficient, and ALWAYS HONEST. They run the gamut when it comes to maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. Also - everyone there is an experienced 4wd enthusiast, not just an entry level mechanic, from the lobby to the shop to the owner. They work on my Suburban, Tundra, Wagoneer, Jeep Wangler, and even my camper!

Very happy w the work done! Fort Collins 4x4 was able to get me in within the timeframe I needed to go on vacation/4 wheeling trip. I always like to do my own work but in this situation, I didn t have the time to finish the job due to the fender kit arriving late (I purchased on my own and brought kit to shop - job was labor only).I had dropped my vehicle off on a Wednesday night and was hoping to pick up by end of day Thursday. After Thursday @ 3pm rolled around, Austin (lead tech) called and said they had dramatically under estimated the price/scope of work needed to complete the job. I ended up speaking w Ross (owner) and they agreed to honor their original estimate and were able to complete the job in the time frame I was hoping and didn t cut ANY CORNERS even though they knew the job was under bid. This meant a lot to me and showed the character of whom I was working with.If you re in the market for quality work from a local company that puts their customers first, look no further than Fort Collins 4x4!Services: Electrical, Body & Trim

These guys are way overpriced and love taking $$$! I brought my 98 F-150 in to check why the 4x4 was not working this summer and to check the check engine light and all they could do is diagnose and than say we have to do more diagnostics and take the dash apart to get to the g e m module for the 4x4 ( and they did not even know where it was in the truck. No I did not have them do that). On the check engine light it turned out to be a mass air flow sensor which I cleaned my self. Also I called them to do a Water pump on my 07 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that has the 4.0 L v 6 and they wanted around $1000.00 to do it which included changing the belt and thermostat ( they want to sell you stuff you don't need.) I took it to Aamco in Ft Collins and did not need a belt and Thermostat and they charged my wife and I $ 460.00 to do the Water pump which includes parts, coolant , labor and tax.I don't need an explanation from you guys at Ft Collins 4x4 for why you are high and why you just wanted to do diagnostics on my F-150. If you want me to edit this review and leave decent feed feed back you can take apart the dash on my f-150 at a cheap cost to get the part # for that g e m module and fix it cheap.

I hired Fort Collins 4x4 to install an OEM fog light kit (that I bought online) and a trailer receiver (that I bought online) on my base model Subaru Crosstrek. Altogether a great experience. Dropped off at 8, done by 11. Everyone I dealt with was professional and courteous. Don't think you need to be installing a lift kit on a huge 4x4 to use this business. They took on my small job like it was the most important thing they did this month.

Service team Jesse was very knowledgeable and willing to answer all questions. Timing of vehicle in there was as promised. The whole staff that I encountered seems truly exciting about the vehicles they worked on and seem to hold high quality standards.

Went in for an alignment drop my truck off at 8;30 am got it back around 4 pm which didn't bother me but I notice my truck pulling to the right so I went under and notice none of the bolts were touched they didn't do the alignment and charged me for it. I was planning on going back for some more services but I doubt it.

This shop has saved me so much money over the years! One time another (closer to me) mechanic I took my car to recommended a $2000 fix and Ft Collins 4x4 found the problem... a 0.97 piece that completed the circuit. They don't pressure you on your decisions, they send an entire vehicle report prioritising their findings based on the level of need and will answer whatever questions you have. They also do a great pre purchase vehicle inspection.Bo Rocks!
