Carter always provides prompt service and is one of the only mechanics I go to, I live in Lakewood it s about a 35 min drive just to see him if that says anything about how much I value his quality work

Changing my review! I had work done and they quoted me $1,000, I had my dad call and talk since I was in the middle of the work day and they immediately dropped the price to $600 when speaking to him. They do good work and get it done quick but I felt taken advantage of as a woman just trying to get her car fixed.Services: Tire rotations, Air conditioningServices: Tire rotations, Air conditioning

AMAZING MECHANIC!!! This is Lisa with the 05 red MDX. Went in for an oil change and transmission fluid drain and fill based on the recommendation of my neighbor. My neighbor said Carter is completely honest and does great work and he was right!! Carter looked over my car at my request because it has over 200,000 miles and I want to see if I should put the money into maintenance or upgrade to a car with less miles. Carter told me what the car needs and what it doesn t need. His estimate was way less than the dealership and quite a bit less than another shop. He would ve made more money right away if he had told me to keep the car, but he said if it was him and he was going to keep the car three or more years he would upgrade probably to a Toyota. I was leaning towards this anyway, but he helped solidify my decision. He spent time explaining everything to me and his prices are very fair. His honesty will bring in more money to his shop in the long run because my future used car will need to work and I will be recommending him to MANY people. The shop is nice and professional with a nice waiting area. Doc, the office is a true gentleman and very personable, and he knows a lot about cars.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Carter and his team have been our go-to auto mechanic for many years, referred from a family friend.At this point, we entrust his workmanship and mechanic s knowledge with three company trucks. All of our employees also use his services on their personal vehicles, and many friends and family have been pleased with their transition to Carter as their go-to auto shop.He basically handles all of our truck repairs and maintenance, and he truly stands behind his work. We have never felt over-charged or taken advantage of when we send our trucks in for routine maintenance.Doc at the front desk is communicable and responsive, and Carter s support team in back always works to get the job done right.Sometimes tricky to find a mechanic to trust, but I won t be taking my trucks anywhere else as long as Carter is in business. I always feel comfortable bringing my cars here. I even drive from Littleton because I know things will be done properly at a fair price. Carter is awesome at what he does!I am thankful to have found this place to bring my cars. I want to say this happened in between 2016 - 2017. My brakes went out on my 04 Sun Damaged Navy Blue Hyundai Santa Fe while I was on my way to work. So then, I bought the parts from an auto store that very next day. After I made an appointment with them. Went in that same day and they got it all done within like couple hours. I recommend Carter's Automotive to anyone who will listen. I've been using the shop for over a decade for my Japanese and German cars with great satisfaction. I can't count the number of times I've walked in thinking I might need to do X, Y, and Z only to be told that Carter would only recommend X for now. Prices are entirely reasonable and work gets done on schedule. As an example, my recent battery replacement was quoted at $353 by a big-box auto store, only to be completed for $193 in under an hour (including bringing in the non-standard battery) at Carter's Automotive. I suggest you give Carter's a try, enjoy the service, and come back here with an honest review to keep this family-owned business thriving for years to come!Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

Carter is an honest mechanic who tells it straight, is upfront with pricing and doesn't try to upsale, but simply gives options and recommendations with no sales pressure. Another shop told me to fix the vibration in my steering wheel when accelerating/braking at high speeds I needed to spend $2,800 to repair my struts and get new tires (I just put new tires on 11 months ago). Carter said my front rotars and brake pads were the cause for my problems with a simple fix of $235. I went with his diagnostic expertise and my car drives perfectly now with no problems. I highly recommend Carter's automotive!!Service: Brakes

Okay, so I'm really particular about where I take my cars. I have to trust the people working on them. Sometimes a shop is overpriced, just feels sketchy, or they try to get you to get unnecessary work done. Carter's is none of those. Their prices are extremely reasonable, everyone there that I've worked with has been nice, and they are trustworthy. I've had a couple situations where I thought really significant work needed to be done, and Carter took a look, discovered the problem was something else, and the solutions ended up being much cheaper/easier. Less reputable shops might have claimed that the more expensive repair was necessary (I've had it happen). So I was really pleased that they're such straightshooters. And every repair that Carter's has performed has been on budget, on time, and excellent quality. They've now done work on my BMW, Honda, and Toyota vehicles. Highly recommended.

While on vacation in Colorado our windshield wipers stopped working. We received quotes from 2 dealerships and 1 mechanic shop. All were between 270 and 600. Then I found Carter's. Carter's did and oil change and fixed our wipers all for 170 less than the previous 270 quoted, which was to fix the wipers only. We were very impressed with his work. He was very thorough, giving us sound advice on additional things we need in the future. It's not often you can find an honest, hard working mechanic that will go beyond the necessary work and providing superior customer service. Especially when your from out of town. I recommend Carter's to all. For those of you near centennial Colorado this is your guy. Please take advantage of his amazing work. Thank you Carter's, you the best.

My friend Alex referred me to this shop and the staff is fantastic. Everyone there so very knowledgeable and so helpful! Best shop in town. I will not be taking my car anywhere else but carters automotive!

This business is a throw back to the old days of great customer service and fair pricing. They spend time making sure they understand the customer's needs and they communicate very well. I moved to live and work in the area about five years ago and Carter is the only mechanic I ve used. He does excellent work and he s knowledgeable, honest, trustworthy, and the cost is more than fair. Usually I ask him to check certain things that I m concerned with and he very easily could tell me something is wrong or needs replaced but typically just let s me know when it needs done rather than trying to find something to charge. He has no problem taking the time to explain things to you and never is trying to rush his work.

I was so happy with the service provided at Carter s Automotive. I had taken my Jeep to the dealership when it broke down. Was told it was probably the transmission. I paid for a diagnostics and was told by Jeep I needed a new battery. After paying for an overpriced battery I was told that s all my issue was, a new battery. I picked up my Jeep and the following day on my way to work it broke down again. I found Carter s Automotive & he knew exactly what the problem was and made everything a smooth easy fix. I know he gave me honest feedback on additional repairs I knew my vehicle needed. I would highly reccomend Carter s! Wonderful customer service! He even stayed late at the shop when I went to pick up my car because my Uber took an hour and a half to get there and I didn t quite make it before he closed. If I ever need work done on another vehicle I ll be going to Carter!

I seriously love these guys! The see all of my families cars and we refer anyone who is looking for a super awesome mechanic to go to them! Carter and his team are SO honest and only recommend getting things done when they actually need to be, he has extremely fair pricing. I will forever only take my car here!

Carter's Auto is the only place I take my vehicles! Honest and fair, doesn't want to charge you for something you can live without! Talks to you like a human being, what more can you ask? Honest mechanics are hard to come by!

Was referred to Carter's from a friend. Took my Buick in because it was making a strange noise. Carter(the owner) called me back after looking at it and said it was an issue with the powertrain. He said my car is still covered by the powertrain warranty and to take it to the dealer. He even gave me a write up to give the dealer explaining the noise and diagnosis to help the cause. I could not be happier with the level of customer service and honesty I received from Carter and his team. If you have a car issue you would be crazy to take it anywhere else but to Carter's Automotive!

Mr. Carter,I am writing this review from Boston, a world away it seems; your kindness has reached this far. My grandmother recently visited your shop, her van had a check engine light come on. In the past Grandpa would have diagnosed the problem and gladly fixed it himself, he was very handy and loved working on cars. Grandpa passed a few years back and Grandma's finances have really been strained.I called her today, and she was nearly in tears as she told me how you helped her. You sir are a class act! Most honest and was quick to get to my vehicle. I wasn t charged for a simple diagnosis and was spot on with what was wrong. He doesn t try to make the vehicle issues more than what it appears to be. Best automotive place and mechanic I ve been to hands down. Also works on foreign auto

I needed to replace my u joints on my chevy tahoe. I attempted this job myself but hit a roadblock because of gm's plastic pins that hold the joint in place. I called up Carter's and they were able to squeeze me in the next day to press out the old joints and press in the new ones. Saved me a headache! Fast service and great price! Give these guys your business!

He was able to get my car in timely. He was able to diagnose my issue when the dealership couldn't and was surprised at how inexpensive it was. Oil change prices are very reasonable also.

Carter's automotive is extremely honest. I took my Jeep in to Carter's to check what I thought was a broken bearing, which was causing an awful shudder and noise when when I braked. He took the wheel apart, drove it and didn't notice the noise. When he took the wheel apart it must have fixed the problem. He told me to bring the Jeep back if the problem came back but he wasn't going to charge me for anything since he only did an estimate. I will be back when my Jeep has any other problem.

$71 or so for synthetic oil change... wasn't told until afterwards. I wish i went the Groupon route... was especially bummed bc i wad referred there & told the prices were reasonable. I won't be back.
