Have an Older 2006 Hyundai Azera that needs a lot of TLC & unfortunately a lot of Vehicle .maintenance. Mountain Auto's reputation for fixing things the 1st time around is legit. I have owned the care for 2 years , even though I have had 3 costly $$$$ repairs now...my car is still on the road running better than ever each time I get it back. Their vehicle inspection report is the most detailed I have ever seen. Breaking down what is needed now, what is recommended, & what is upcoming down the road. This has been critical for me to budget the maintenance costs on my Purple joyride. These guys are tip top techs on what your car needs. Thanks Phil & Mike...and thanks for remembering me each time I come in.....

I came in after installing a new throttle body to get the ECM reset, without an appointment - everybody was courteous and helpful, they topped off my antifreeze and the charge was quite reasonable. Very nice and knowlegeable techs!

Unfortunately, when I picked up my car, the check engine light was still on. The work wasn t done until the very end of the day and unfortunately I live 50 miles away from the mechanic even though I dropped the vehicle off first thing in the morning and the repair should ve taken less than an hour to diagnose and tighten the bolts that were left loose during the initial repair that was made in Mountain Auto. Very frustrating, because it s difficult to make an appointment where I can have the whole day without my vehicle in Durango. I hope someone from Mountain auto reaches out to correct this but I don t even know if they want my business anymore? Initial repair was over $1000 and should ve been taken care of promptly as they knew my situation coming from Silverton. Again, I dropped the vehicle off the night before so it could be looked at first. I made this appointment a month in advance . I was told it would have priority since I was traveling from out of town. I m just very confused why it did not get the attention that it needed at the beginning of the day and caused so much trouble for me and I still have my engine light on. Mountain Auto is one of the best mechanics in town yet. I feel like I got second class treatment. Very disappointed with this visit.

As always, Mountain Auto delivers capable, friendly and timely service. They are willing to explain the repairs as well to a non-mechanical customer like me. I sure appreciate them.

Very friendly group at Mountain Auto. Make sure you get on the schedule; They are very busy for good reason. They took care of me, were open about the charges and got me done on time. I d highly recommend.

We use them pretty often as we have a small fleet of personal vehicles. So far, they have been fantastic. They fix it right the first time and they are fairly priced.

There s definitely a pink tax here.These guys quoted me $1300 for a new fuel pump: $430 for the pump, and the rest in labor and some parts (that I think are fictitious).I was told the labor is a beast; it would take two men to drop the fuel tank in order to replace the fuel pump.I, a single 5 5 woman, dropped the fuel tank by myself. How does it feel knowing a small gal did equivalent labor to two men?I purchase the same pump for $260 from Napa directly.With the money I saved, I was able to purchase new and replace the fuel tank and part of the fuel lines.Do your research ladies!!!! Durango Car Care located on College Ave has helped me with other issues and the prices are fair and honest!!!

After having my car in another shop for a month, and being sent home (twice) to breakdown again, Mountain auto found the issue and fixed it within two days from getting it in. I really like that they send out a description of what the problem is via email. You can take some time to decide what issues you want fixed . I don't have to remember all the details to discuss with my husband. He can read them and we can make a decision.

Takes a while to get in, because everyone knows this is the best place to have your vehicle serviced. Honest, professional, knowledgeable, and fair. These are the qualities you want in an auto shop.

Once Again Mtn Auto struck a home run! My truck died and I had towed to them, they initially told me a 2 wk time frame before they could fit it in schedule, but to my surprise they got me in and out the door in 4 days!! I am grateful and very pleased they underpromised and over delivered!They are definitely my go to guys!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My husband and I recently were referred to Mountain Auto Care when our truck began experiencing transmission problems as we were headed to Silverton hauling our RV. This could have been our worst nightmare while traveling had it not been for the excellent service that was provided. Phil made sure we were taken care of in record time and provided us with with advice for our unexpected stay in Durango. We could not be more thankful for the excellent service and customer care from your company. For 25 years we owned and operated our own automotive repair service in Texas and hope we served our customers as well as Mountain Auto Care served us. I was recommended Mountain Auto Care by the Chevrolet dealership, for their commitment to quality service, and true and detailed diagnostics. Their team was great to work with, came up with alternative solutions, and got my vehicle serviced and back to me in a very reasonable amount of time. I was worried about the transmission on my Ram and was wanting to get it looked at. After calling several places Mountain Auto Care was the only place that would get it in and worked on in a timely fashion. Will definitely be doing business with them again!

I mostly dealt with Phil however customer service didn't fall short when dealing with Mike. They handled a very complicated warranty situation that ended in my favor. Also even though the shop was busy... They always made me feel like my vehicle and time was important. Thanks guys. my 2008 Silverado diesel was misbehaving - showing "reduced power", Phil and his team ran diagnostics. they did an excellent job in a short period. they are so popular that he could not do further work on the truck for 3 weeks. I asked about transport to Denver where I live. He suggested Chuck at DAR Transport. I was able to have it shipped to my house at a reasonable cost for further work. Phil was great to work with and I thank him for his excellent work and advice. You can trust him and his team.

In a day and age where it s never been easier to communicate, businesses tend to have a very hard time doing that, especially in Durango! Not Mountain Auto. One of the very few businesses in Durango that has great communication throughout the entire process. My car was diagnosed, fixed and ready for the road in a very timely manner and it is running great after the work it received. I highly recommend Mountain Auto for any car service you may need!Service: General repairs & maintenance

10/10 would recommend. I brought my car in for an oil change and inspection - they finished the oil change in great time and performed a thorough inspection. After finding a crack in the serpentine belt, some issues with the wipers, and that the air filter needed replacement, they let me know and proceeded to order parts and perform the repairs. It only took them 1 hour from my sign off on the repairs to having the car ready on the lot. On top of all of this, they were kind, explained everything thoroughly, and of course did a great job on the car. Phil and Mike literally saved our families trip. While in town from Arizona, our Jeep cracked the coolant reservoir tank, could barely drive without overheating and 2 days prior to driving home. I called the morning after the tank cracked, they got me in that same day and finished the repair before 5pm. No one else in town (including the Jeep dealership) was even willing to schedule an appointment. Highly recommend this shop!Service: General repairs & maintenance

From the moment I called Mountain Auto Care I was treated with nothing but respect. They scheduled me immediately for repair beginning a few days out. I was emailed a full report on my vehicle along with a phone call and a follow up call before they began the work that included a precise quote. The work was done thoroughly and quickly and I was back on the road with full confidence that the job was done correctly and with care. I was in from out of town on a quickly put together trip to Durango. On the way, the low brake pad indicator started to squeal at me. I looked up brake jobs, then looked at the reviews. Read some, all good. It was a Monday afternoon that I called. They got me in 10am the next morning. Great interaction. Great Service. Did the job for a fair price. Got me out as quickly as possible. I would highly recommend them. I can't thank them enough for working me in on such sudden notice. Locally owned. No chain. 10/10.Service: Brake service & repair

We took our car in to see what was wrong with the air conditioning. They came back to us with a bill for $800. When I refused that high of cost, they charged me $120 for the diagnostic test which they didn't disclose to me up front.I took it to another shop who diagnosed it for free and fixed the same problem for $140. I won't be going back to mountain auto care.

I came here after having a terrible experience with morehart Murphy and mountain auto was outstanding. Every person I spoke to was kind and professional. They didn t try to take advantage and work on more than needed to be done for the money. they were honest and efficient. My car is now running wonderfully. They diagnosed a problem in 1 day when it took Subaru 2 weeks to not figure it out. Don was the man! He walked me through everything and kept in good contact, was able to explain everything to me on a dumbed down level and is super appreciated. No complaints about this group. They were all awesome from start to finish! I highly recommend.Services: Engine repair, Oil change

Mountain Auto Care is my favorite auto shop in Durango. Phil and Mike are so nice to me, remember my name and what's going on with my car, and are so fair, kind, and patient, it's unreal. I feel so comfortable going to this auto-shop and asking all my silly questions and knowing that when I leave, my car will be fixed up, right as rain. These guys do everything they can for me and always consider my schedule, my budget, and the longevity of my car and the fixes she needs. Cars can be tough and expensive, but going to Mountain Auto Care makes this experience as easy as it can and should be, and for that I am so grateful! Also! These mechanics are clever and won't just throw parts at your problems. They get down to the bottom of it make make sure they are fixing the problem at the source, not just replacing things willy nilly, which has personally saved me money in the long run.

This place is so wonderful. I feel so comfortable taking my car here. First time I took my car I was in desperate need to get an issue fixed before I had to leave to Denver and they were able to squeeze me in I couldn t believe it!
