This place loves to scam people ! Kept our vehicle for 3 days for routine maintenance. Also didn't change anything they were suppose to as everything was marked , their mechanic spent more time going through my husband's tools . Also have called about concerns and talk to an associate and they never called back. Ridiculous as we are a struggling family with 3 children and now have to come up with the money so my husband can fix everything that they messed up on our van ! ITS REALLY MESSED UP WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO GET SERVICED AND THEY MAKE IT RUN WORSE THAN WHEN YOU TOOK IT IN!

I brought my truck in on Thursday to get my window fixed. They said it would be ready in the morning on Friday... On Friday morning I called them and said it would be ready later in the day... they NEVER called me back and since theyre closed on the weekends ended up keeping my truck ALL weekend with now warning! I was stranded and had to Uber to work over the weekend. Why the hell would you not tell someone you're going to keep thier vehicle over the weekend?? Very rude!

This was the WORST experience with a mechanic! The owner is unorganized, unprofessional and rude. Day of, appointment was Cancelled after waiting a week to get in! It took 3 days to get me a quote. Then the quote was $7000! On a no more than 1200$ fix. Later they called back with a reasonable price but then cancelled my appointment! After waiting a week to get in and while my car is being towed to their shop they decided to cancel the appointment?!?! I could have gone anywhere else and gotten my car fixed a week ago! The owner is unorganized, unprofessional and rude.

Well here it goes they gave me a list of stuff they were going to do, change plugs and wires change oil change fuel filter change transfilter and fluid and tackle weld exhaust! Now I'm skeptical of shops so I put my initials on every thing and marked bolts because my vehicle has never leaked! They changed the oil but didn't refill with correct amount!!! They changed trans filter bit didn't correctly tighten the pan also incorrect amount of fluid! Did not change plugs ,wires or fuel filter never fixed the exhaust put a temp sending unit in which I didn't ask for! They took out my floor mats for some reason the original chey set and my brand new catapillar set. Now I've called three different times and no one has returned my calls! So thank you midtown for stealing from a struggling family and lying to us as well great business ethics

Efficiently fixed my problem and gave an accurate estimate before starting the work. Price was on par with any other car shop, but was done faster than expected.

Easily the best experience I ve ever had at an auto mechanic shop. Got an oddly shaped metal shard in my tire on a very snowy day. Fortunately I was close to Midtown and they patched it up within 30-40 minutes. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. He told me it s been a family business for now 3 generations which just adds to how special this place is. I d highly recommend them!

Amazingly fast and accommodating service. Fixed my flat and popped the nail out of my tire super quick. Will definitely be back for other service based on this visit. Really appreciate the staff here.

I called ahead and asked if they would work on a car with significant rust (I mentioned another shop turned me down for it) they said it was fine. I was charged $130 for them to tell me they won't work on it cause of the rust.. while I appreciate honesty, I'm aggrevatied I was charged $130 for something I called ahead about and the last shop told me for free. I got the work done that was needed elsewhere, none of it required touching the rusted bolts they said they couldn't handle (rear brakes, valve cover gasket). It's from the rust belt, I've never had an issue getting work done on the east coast. I feel ripped off after they told me they could work with rust then charged me $130 for a "diagnosis" of "we can't work on rust". Ridiculous.

They were very professional on the phone and in the shop. I had a hole in my tire plugged. I was in and out in no time. They happily gave me advice on a few questions other questions I had. I highly recommend this shop!Service: TiresService: Tires

Always a great experience. I've been taking my vehicle to Midtown Automotive for years now. They've worked on my car several times and are always courteous and very helpful. Have had my tires rotated, aligned, my battery charged, and endless more appointments. Never too expensive and always done in good time. Love having a true neighborhood mechanic. I had some decent experiences with this shop so I decided to make it our go to for everything. But then this summer my wife took our car in for a fluid change and we were charged an eye popping 600+ dollars. 300 of which was for labor and a mysterious 45 for "shop supplies". That's the last time I'll use them for anything.

This is hands-down the best auto repair shop I have been to. I brought my car in for a condenser repair and replacement of the front bumper and headlights. This could have taken several days and been cost prohibitive. But Jeremiah went to bat for me and ordered the bumper, sent it out for painting, and had it ready to go by the time I left my vehicle at the shop. He was able to do some pretty extensive bodywork and mechanical repairs in the span of a single day! The work is incredible. The front end of my vehicle looks brand new. And the air conditioner was fixed perfectly. The whole thing was done with meticulous precision. He worked with me to give me a very fair price and have my insurance cover as much as was possible. Honest, fair, and caring. The ease of renting a car was also so appreciated. Jeremiah arranged for the rental prior to my arrival and I had dropped my car off and was in a rental in a matter of a half-hour. When I got my car back, Jeremiah had also taken the time to identify and create quotes for a few things that might need work in the near future. And I definitely will be going to Midtown for said repairs. Could not recommend more highly.

They tried to charge me $1100 for a starter and a battery replacement for a honda.a starter costs $200a battery costs $120it s essentially 6 bolts to unscrew. It took 20 minutes to replace without lifting the car. Labor does not cost $700. Nice try.

I can't recommend Scotty and his team enough. They have been an amazing find for working on my car and are always professional, courteous and most importantly they do great work. Scotty has replaced a clutch for me (drives like a champ now) as well as my valve adjustments, oil changes and anything else my little air cooled engine has needed. Highly recommend!Services: Transmission, Auto engine tuning, Oil change

Midtown does a fine job .I've been going there for years .Jeremiah and the others are great . I've even started taking our work fleet there . The only issue I have is the Lady that mans the phone doesn't always call when vechiles are ready for pick up .

I like to support small family business, and given the good reviews, I took my recently purchased 2016 Nissan Rogue into Midtown Automotive for its first oil change in my hands. I dropped off at 9 AM and was told they'd call me when it was done in 1-2 hr, possibly earlier. After 3.5 hours, I called them and was told they were just finishing up. They charged me $102 for a synthetic oil change. Between the high price, lack of communication, and >3 hr wait time, I would not recommend.

Called to get a quote on brake repair and was told they didn t do that over the phone. When I went in at 8 am I didn t hear back from them until I called two separate times. I was quoted at $935 for one set of brakes. When I picked up the car I was charged $85 for brake inspection even though I already knew what was wrong. Extremely shady and I m very unhappy with the service I received.Service: Auto maintenance

Dropped off my car for an oil change and to replace my Honda s plastic engine cover. They came back with a list of other issues with my vehicle which totaled to nearly $2k which I refused to have work done on. Was quoted a couple days till they would have my parts on hand and ended up being 1.5 weeks to wait (paid upfront). Finally got the work done and was asked to pay another $25 dollars because they misquoted the parts that were needed. I told them I didn t feel comfortable paying the extra amount considering the circumstances (long wait, paying upfront) which I ended up not having to pay. Another example of mechanics trying to gouge the unsuspecting customer with poor communication and botched promises. It s great to support a local business but make sure to hold them accountable.

Crooks. Several years ago I had my car s AC compressor replaced under warranty over 3 times here. They said it was the cheap aftermarket parts that were breaking and the 3rd time they said they replaced it with a factory OEM compressor. My AC broke a few weeks later but my warranty had expired and I was no longer able to afford getting it fixed over and over, when I finally got a new shop to look at it, they told me there was no factory OEM AC compressor installed. I have to drive around in 100-degree heat because of these CROOKS!

Yes. Go here! As a previous owner of a very old car, I know that I need to have a reliable mechanic that won't rip me off. These guys are awesome! I trust them to do excellent work for a fair price, and very quickly at that. I always recommend them and take my car here for the smallest thing, even though they're on the other side of town.

I was traveling my suburban started leaking needed to get it in and see where from came here they pulled it right in and put in the air found rear diff leaking was honest helped me out and got me back on the road awesome service can't recommend enough. Worked with the owner Scott. Driving across country when issue happened. Amazingly professional. Vanagon repair. Several other vanagons in shop also so clearly they are known to be able to work on these special vehicles. Got done on time. Below estimate. Figured out issue immediately when looked. Recommend highly.

I spent 1200 for nothing and still have the same problem. They made me feel that I was asking too much to verify that it was the correct problem and said there was nothing more to check before doing the work. They guaranteed me that what they were replacing was the problem and obviously never bothered to drive the car after doing the work to know that the front end noise issue was not resolved.Service: Steering & suspension repair

This family-owned business treats you like you're part of the family. Jeremiah, Randy and the crew are honest and thorough. I love that they will help you prioritize your car's issues so you can plan accordingly. I have called and/or stopped by with (ridiculous) questions - - always answered politely. And they have helped me out with last minute issues without blinking. Great place.
