Getting a new transmission is expensive. No question. But after taking it to several other shops and being told many different things, I took it to High Country. They told me exactly what was wrong, how much it would cost and how long it would take. No Nonsense, no excuses. They absolutely delivered, without upselling, without a sales pitch, just the information that I needed to make a decision. Go here first and save your precious time messing around with other shops. I'm in love with my jeep again. Thanks guys!!PS - This is a no frills shop, no fancy lobby, no fast talking sales, just good service. These days it's a rare occurrence for people to do exactly what they say they are going to do - BUT Todd & Larry totally delivered.

These guys are *the* best in the Denver/Front Range area. I would recommend them period. They fixed my car within my budget and totally on the timeline as promised. Todd and his team are professional and super friendly. Don t go anywhere else

High country, and Larry came highly recommended by a friend of mine. I knew the transmission on my car was starting to act up. Larry and s crew diagnosed the issue, noting that the transmission was starting to show signs of failure. However, he did say I could buy a little bit more time with this transmission rather than just telling me that I needed to replace it right away. To their credit the diagnosis was free. I ll definitely be back here to have it replaced when it is reached point of no return. Thanks High Country! Hopefully I won t see you again too soon.

At the end of January my 6L80e 4x4 decided it no longer wanted to go forward, just reverse, so after reading reviews locally I decided to go with High Country Transmission s to take care of my truck. After diagnosis, a rebuild or reman was in order so while being patient with me I located a remanufactured unit and had it delivered. A couple days after delivery my new transmission was installed and programmed and I was back on the road again with confidence. Thank you to all the great people at High Country, highly recommended by myself for all your transmission needs.

Dropped off my vehicle March 15, 2023. I was able to negotiate a price with High Country Transmission over the phone. After I got there the price had went up $200.00. I left High Country Transmission after renegotiating the price back to its original pricing. I received a call saying the the vehicle had been started up in order to be parked in the lot and that it didn t have any oil in it and was making noises. I asked how was the vehicle start up. I received a response that didn t make sense to me because I was told that the vehicle was put on a jumper cable box and that it started but was making noises. This didn t make sense because the battery had been charged @AutoZone and I was still unable to turn it on. The person I spoke to told me he would put oil in it and call me the next day. I waited to hear from the shop to contact me and I was not reached out to so I called the High Country. I was told that the vehicle was started up and oil flew all over the place and making a big mess and that the mechanic was waiting on a plug and would call me back the next day. Now on March, 21 six day later I received a call from High Country saying the the pistons where hanging out the motor.

I have been using this business since 2012. Todd and Larry have been very trustworthy and helpful. My wife and I have used them multiple times with multiple vehicles. I am so thankful for their trustworthy, straight forward, honest, fair quotes and repairs. They only fix what needs to be repaired including speed sensors etc.... They have worked on our 91 Chevy Suburban, 02 Hyundai Accent, 07 Dodge Grand Canavan, and making plans for a our 08 Hyundai Elantra. These guys fixed a tough recurring problem I was having with my Toy Tundra. The dealership itself had been unable to fix the problem even after 4 tries! I recently had my transmission go out in my truck. It put me under a lot of stress. Todd at High Country put my mind at ease. Naturally, when I know I am going to be spending a decent amount of money on something, I like to do my research. Not to find the cheapest price but the best quality work. I called 6 different places and spent a good deal of time with each talking about the process and options. Todd took extra time to talk to me about some options that the other companies did not even mention. He was honest and sincere. I could not be more happy that I decided to work with High Country Transmission. Not only was Todd great to work with but all the guys in the shop were very friendly. Fantastic shop was recommended to me by Birch auto as their go to for transmission work. Looked at my car and diagnosed/let me know the hard news up front. Unfortunately it needs a new transmission which is outside the budget of fixing on this older car, but it is a highly recommended shop with honest trouble shooting.

When the automatic transmission in my 2014 Ford focus started going out the first place I went to only give me the option of putting a new one in for $6000 or a used one for $2000 and I wasn t hip on either option. So when I contacted High Country Transmission and they told me that they could rebuild it for less than a new one I was totally for that option and I m so glad I picked it. Todd and Larry and the crew are AMAZING. I would totally recommend any time you have any sort of a transmission issue you give these guys a call they are professional and exceptionally knowledgeable about transmissions and can give you options that a lot of other places either can t or won t, so make High Country Transmission your only stop if you ve got transmission issues. The transmission in my sons Jeep went out and I was 300 miles away and didn't know any shops in Denver. These guys got good reviews so I gave them a call. Todd was really friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They arranged to tow it over and get on it right away. The towing rate was half what I expected and the rate he quoted to rebuild the transmission was exactly what I paid. They had the Jeep ready in a few days, as my son had no other vehicle. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them again.

Quoted me $2,500 more than 3 other transmission shops I called for remanufactured transmission. There s nothing I hate more is a dishonest mechanic trying to overcharge and take advantage of someone in need for a service.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Larry and Todd definitely know what they are doing! It is by no accident they have been in business and have the awards and reviews to back this establishment up. I was referred to thier expertise from a very reliable mechanic. Larry was very promt and delivered! Definitely use the guys they are rare and hard to find! High Country Transmission was recommended to me by another transmission spot was booked solid, so when I finally got my car in they replaced my clutch very fast at a great price! Even after my speed sensor popped an error (not their fault as the wire was old and broke) I brought it back in, they found the problem and repaired it at no charge! Only took them about an hour and I was on my way. I would definitely recommend this place and will continue to be a costumer for years to come! A+ service.

We have had 3 vehicles that needed a transmission or to repair a transmission.They are very knowledgeable about all aspects of auto repairs.Best of all, they are honest about what you will need and the cost. Totally trust worthy if you need transmission work done. They even offer a warranty.I have recommended High Country to several friends!

These guys did my awd in my yukon denali at a fair price. Then they did my transmission in my tj jeep. Both times, fair price, great work, pleasant to deal with. I do all my own mechanical work on my vehicles except awd or transmissions. I will only take my work to these guys. Thank you for being in business!

Larry looked at my 1995 Ford F150 truck that was having transmission issues. We were in town from KC and concerned about traveling home in three days. He diagnosed as low transmission fluid and didn't charge us and said he thought we could get home and repair in KC. Appreciated his honesty and great service!

I was driving my 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 diesel towing a 10,000 lb Travel trailer west to Vancouver, BC when the torque converter lock up clutch exploded just outside of Denver. I called a friend in Denver and he said the only place to go was High Country Transmission. These guys were amazing. They dropped everything and got onto my truck right away. It was Wednesday afternoon and by Friday lunchtime I was ready to go again. A fully rebuilt transmission with heavy duty aftermarket parts to handle my heavy loads. The truck shifts better than new. My car was showing multiple codes and luckily High Country Transmissions was right down the street. The mechanic was honest with me and helpful in explaining what was going on. I had been to a dealership before coming here and received a recommendation that was misleading. I was so thankful I decided to get a second opinion. I saved $3000 because of the mechanic's honesty

Todd and the folks at High Country Transmission are awesome. I was having trouble with my Grand Cherokee not shifting correctly and popping into neutral, but High Country had it diagnosed in 4 hours and fixed in just a little over a day. They did it for way less than I was expecting to pay too. Highly recommended.

This is a real old-school type shop. Honest, trustworthy, and fair. I was having a problem with my Manual Transmission intermittently not being able to shift into gear. I talked to Larry and walked him through my problems. Larry got to the bottom of the problem really fast, that it was in fact my clutch. Once we talked about it a bit, he started calling around to his suppliers to get prices. In the end, the service was completed on time and he stuck to his original quote.Highly Recommend.Service: Transmission

I took my Yukon in to get my transmission rebuilt. I took it home two days later in perfect condition! Soon after my car was making a noise in the rear end so took it back to make sure everything was in place. Turns out my spare tire was just a bit loose and the crew took care of this as well! Such a helpful and wonderful team! I can't thank them enough so I will let everyone on the internet know with my review. Two thumbs way up!!

I was recommended to take my 4x4 truck here by a coworker and dont regret it. They are fast kind and actually care about the customers well being not just the money. Definitely will take my vehicles here for drive train problems in the future. Todd is a great guy, and knows his stuff.

They did a excellent job on the rebuild of friends Cadillac Escalade transmission. They even found that the transfer case was broken and that was the cause of the failure. After that was repaired they fixed rear main seal on engine also. Now the truck runs perfect. I had went to have my transmission rebuilt by them and they gave me a great price and asked the right questions. I have a 78 k5 blazer with LS swap and np205 transfer case. They were very helpful. So I called them on the phone got a quote and timeframe . They delivered exactly what they promised. Thank you High country transmission. Service: Transmission
