Got my 8 e locker thirds for my solid axle 4runner regeared here. Al gave me the best customer service experience. Worked with suppliers to get me exactly what I wanted and is extremely knowledgeable. Not to mention it took them 2 days when other shops quoted me at 2-6 weeks.The Revolution gears they put in (recommended by Al) have stood up to some serious rock crawling abuse without any issue. Still dead silent on and off road.I usually do all my own work and don t trust anyone to wrench on my rig. This shop is my exception. I have full trust and confidence that they treat every rig as if it were their own.

96 Jeep ZJ Grand Cherokee, bad howling noise!!After 8 differential rebuild attempts at another shop I took my Jeep to Colorado Axle N Gear when I relocated to Denver. There was a loud howling/grinding at any speed (but mostly highway) coming from my rear diff. The previous techs had installed inferior parts. From the start there was excellent customer service and support here! The guys are very professional and understanding. They know exactly what they re doing and with a timely inspection, they knew what the Jeep needed and they listened! I am so impressed with their quality workmanship. Picked up the Jeep the following day and it s like new! No more howling!! My Jeep drives like a new one!! These guys did it right the first time and I m so impressed! It s difficult to find quality like this, keep in mind this is what they specialize in. I highly recommend their service and products, excellent quality and a fair price, even saved me some money after the quote! How many shops do that?! None. Take your vehicle here for differential service and repair, you won t be disappointed!! Thanks Al, JR. and the team!!

My dad was going to let me use his truck for spring break and as I was getting ready to leave, we found out the rear axle was leaking fluid. These guys were able to get us in and out at a more than reasonable price and time frame. Absolutely stellar customer service. Cannot say enough good things about them!

Excellent service! Had to have the rear axle of my pickup overhauled. Gave me an estimate before seeing my car and the end bill fell right in the middle of the estimate. Voiced concerns that they may not be able to work around my running boards, but found a way.Great communication, friendly and very professional.

These guys are a first class operation. They are fast and they are responsive. After I completed several bolt on engine mods with occampanying new tune I was still not satisfied with 66rfe performance. I aas still on 35s looking to go to 37s, no way the truck was going to handle 37s at 7000ft above sea level and higher. I consulted CO Axle and Gear and scheduled a gear swap to 4:88. With their attention detail, bossman called me back to inform me a 5:13 was available from AAM versus the 4:88 from others. I jumped all over the 5:13. Install price and schedule were exactly as they estimated, Now thanks to CO Axle with 5:13 gear ratio, my 6.4L Power Wagon with a 6 speed and 37s runs extremely well, beyond any expectations. I wish I would have called CO Axle from the RAM dealership lot. Highly recommended. Original gear was a 4:10. Did I conclude with a highly recommend. 6 starsThe included pics are probably a little unusual when reviewing an Axle and Gear shop but I happen to be a little unusual. Pics are all of post swap differential and are of a perfectly functioning and very quiet front diff, AAM ring and pinion built by the experts at CO Axle and Gear.

Absolutely one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had, regardless of industry. Al and Al Jr are exceptionally professional and truly know what they are talking about. 10/10 would suggest coming to this shop to get any of your axle/gear needs addressed. Al talked me through the parts and pieces that I needed to put in air lockers front and rear plus regearing. When he opened up my axles he noted a few "consumables" that needed replacing (seals, bearings, etc.). They took care of these items because that's the kind of work they do. Can't speak of this shop highly enough.

I had taken my lifted truck to just about every shop I could find in the Denver metro area. I had been told no we won t touch it, we can t warranty it, and I even paid 3 different shops to look at and diagnose or fix the issue. All to no avail. Then I came across colorado axle and gear. Al was virtuous on the phone and exhumed me right in. Within a couple hours I had a diagnosis and an appointment set to get repaired. Turns out a bad install, bad bearings and a loose pinion gear we my issue. I dropped the truck off after they ordered the parts and they had it correct and repaired the same day. That is how you take care of a customer. Al Sr and Jr are the best of the best when it comes to what they do. If you are on the fence about using them, don t be. You will be treated correctly and respectful the whole process. Hats off to you guys. This has been the best shop experience I ve had. You have earned a life long customer and I will ONLY send people your way. Thanks again.

These guys re-geared my F250 to 4:56 gears and installed a front e-locker which was proven and tested in the giant winter storm of March 21 . They are true specialists with axles/gears/lockers and my truck has been running so much smoother and stronger with the new gears vs stock. Highly recommend!!

Had a differential rebuild done here.Oem replaced with locking diff. 1 year 18000 miles later no problems. Work was done in timeframe specified for price quoted.

Top notch customer service, experts in their field, and overall super helpful! Al and his son got the job done quickly, with more expertise than any other shop I talked to, and a at better price. Would 100% recommend them to anybody in need of their service. I wish other shops could be this great! My Dodge Ram Van is in much better shape now.

When my F150 rear differential wore out I was looking for a place that specialized in differential repair. I came across Colorado Axle and Gear during my internet search. When I initially called, I was impressed by their vast knowledge and explanation of the symptoms I was experiencing. When it came to the in person customer service I was beyond impressed with this Father-Son duo! This was in June 2021 and my truck has been performing excellent since. I did however recently encountered a minor rear pinion seal leak. Although this occurrence was outside the warranty window they provided me with a very reasonable quote. Today when I had the rear pinion seal replaced, they were very efficient with accomplishing this to minimize my wait time and I was extremely surprised when they elected not to charge anything! It is rare finding a Father / Son family business and even more rare finding an honest and trustworthy business that delivers incredible results! I highly recommend!

Parents in town from. Northern Indiana. Was headed home and rear differential decided to delete itself. Pops got told about these people and damn. From vehicle on the lift to complete fix. These folks are BEYOND amazing. Price was perfect and done within a timely fashion.

Extremely honest, trustworthy and kind. Had my vehicle diagnosed by a different company that wanted to charge me an unfathomable amount. Ended up bringing it here for a second look. Turned out to be an extremely easy fix that the owner wouldn't even charge me for. Can't recommend them enough if you're looking for good honest people to work with.

It is so difficult to find honest people these days but Mr AL is a trustworthy person, so go to him with confidence. I bought a car that broke down the next day, and the dealership was unethical and refused to accept responsibility. I started looking for locations to fix the car after a shady mechanic told me it was the CV axle and quoted me a ridiculous amount of money. I think my guardian angel guided me to Mr Al He is the most honest professional I have ever met; he told me that the problem was something completely different and he fixed it in no time. His body shop is really nice, even the bathroom is incredibly clean lol I am so grateful to AL!!!

I had my 2011 F150 Platinum rear differential repaired at this shop. It needed to have the limited slip clutch packs replaced due to shutter on take off, cornering, and grinding shuttering noise in tight turns when truck has warmed up. We made an appointment for early morning drop off. The work was completed the same day and they charged me less than what I was quoted on the phone!!! I have driven the truck now for 3 months with absolutely no issues, the repair was done right the first time! I've been meaning to leave a good review for quite some time now. I kept thinking how the this shop needs to be recognized for their awesome work, so here it is 5 stars and if I could I would give more. Saved me thousands $ compared to the Ford stealership.

Had just taken my ford ranger into Meineke, when they told my axle needed replaced. Called up Colorado Axle & Gear and they told me I only needed my bearings replaced. Impressed with the quality communication, reasonable pricing, fast service. Open, transparent, and communicative Got my differential bearings fixed and ready the next day!!!! Top notch service, 5 stars well deserved.

I drive across the Frange to see these guys. CO Axle and Gear has done great work on my truck countless times including the regear of my '17 Taco.One of the things I appreciate most about these guys is the honesty and transparency of the owners. Re-geared my Gen II Tacoma (3.73 to 4.56). These guys are spot on. We spoke of the differences of 4.56 / 4.88 with 33s. I wasn't sure if there was value in jumping all the way to 4.88. We decided, based on my needs, that 4.56 was the way to go. And they were correct. It gave me increased low end for towing our camper and doesn't wind out at 70 mph. Perfect mix for the truck. Pricing was competitive, service was above expectation, quality of work was top notch. Thanks guys!

We drove from Mississippi and our pinion bearing went out halfway through Texas. Al, Sr. was able to work us in quickly and repaired our truck without replacing the gear set that didn't need replacing. He replaced the bearings, races, and seals. Honest, professional service is hard to find these days. This father and son team have the kind of integrity you want. Oh, and the final bill? It was $100 less than the quote. When do you EVER see that?!

I cannot say enough great things about this father/son team! I got my '18 RAM 3500 re-geared up to 4.10s for more pulling capacity. They took the time to talk through proper ratio selection with me, asking pertinent questions regarding intended usage and such. They only use high quality OEM parts and deliver incredibly fast turn around (1 day for me) with the best pricing you'll find anywhere. And they back it with a warranty! I recommend them to everyone needing axle work, they live up to the reputation they've built.

I needed my Tundra regeared for 37 s. Although there were shops that were closer to me, and cheaper, I only wanted to pay for this once. I wanted a shop that does this day in and day out, so I made the hour drive to Colorado Axle and Gear, and left my truck with the ALs. Great guys who did a great job! I honestly couldn t be happier with their work and will be sure to go back for all my axle and gear needs.

Al was great to work with. He communicated very well with me and gave me very upfront pricing. I had taken my truck to a different shop who recommended a whole new third member brand new from the factory for more than double the price. When I told Al what kind of noise I was hearing, he knew immediately it was more than likely the bearings. He gave me a price for just replacement of the bearings and replacement of the gears if necessary. Both prices were less than half of what the other guys propose because they only wanted to put factory new back on my 200,000 mile truck. I highly recommend Colorado Axle and Gear and will never trust anyone else with this type of work.

I have a 2006 Toyota 4Runner and have been taking it to a family-run shop in Wheat Ridge for my services. Over the last few months I had asked about a noise I started hearing (grumbling noise) when I drive and they informed me I would need a new differential but they only sell new units for around $2,500. I knew there MUST be a shop in town that specializes in servicing the units. Colorado Axle N Gear IS that shop! Both Al and Al Jr. were polite and professional over the phone and gave me a quote of what it would cost before I came in. My 4Runner needed to have the bearings replaced and the cost ended up coming out on the lower end of the quote. You can tell Al runs his shop with honesty and integrity, which is a rarity these days. He even asked me to take the vehicle for a test drive before I paid to ensure it sounded right and drove better than it had before. I have worked at and been to a number of automotive shops around town and will without a doubt recommend Colorado Axle N Gear to anyone needing service, maintenance, or performance upgrades on their vehicle. While up in the mountains last week when ever I put my Tacoma in 4wheel drive I was met with a loud thumping. Having just replaced the front axles my fear was damage to the differential. After returning home I took the truck Colorado Axle and Gear. After a quick drive around the parking lot, the owner of CAG climbed under the truck and removed a 1 inch diameter tree branch that was caught in the frame. The branch was hitting the front drive shaft when 4wheel drive was engaged. Quick fix a hand shake and I was on my way! 5 STARS!! Great people! I will be back for service when needed!!

I'm from out of town and heard about Al and Al Jr online and I was not disappointed. These guys do quality work for a fair price. We're able to take care of my Jeep JKU really quickly and for the quoted price. They were able to change a leaky axle seal that I was unaware of too. These guys are incredible! Regeared my truck to 4.56 and added a truetrac in the rear, they had the truck done on time and exactly at the quoted price. Took the time to walk me through everything on the truck, I could not be happier with how it turned out.As many others have said this is the place to go for anything axle and gear related. I would recommend them to a friend or family member 10/10 times.
