Had a wonderful experience with David and Ryan from ATR! I had a minor cosmetic issue I wanted to fix with my brand new Bronco. David got me in the next day and Ryan handled everything within 15 minutes. Can't thank them both enough. Highly recommend!

Excellent service, snow tires mounted, everything done quickly and properly, owner/master technician David Lopez does a great job taking care of his customers. All employees know their jobs and they are friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this auto repair center. They specialize in general repairs.

ATR and the owner David are the best! I also met his two mechanics today for the first time who were professional and kind. What I thought was going to be a costly repair was just a quick bolt tightening at no cost. I really appreciate that these guys aren t just trying to sell me something, and it means so much to me as a woman that I don t feel like my husband has to come with me in order to get honest service. Truly top notch, thank you guys.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I wish I could give ATR a better review as I always try and support the local neighborhood businesses. Unfortunately, however, I found ATR to be very deceptive in their pricing today. I called on 11/21/23 to get a quote on a transmission and transfer case fluid replacement and was given a quote of $190 and made an appt for 11/27/23. Then today when picking my car up I was shocked to be told the cost would be $332.20! That s $142 more than the quote! When I told the owner/manager, Dave, about this he expressed zero regret and said that s why I don t like giving quotes over the phone which is exactly what his shop did!! I had even called Jiffy Lube on Montview on 11/21/23 to ask them what they would charge and the price they quoted me was around $215 so I thought I d not only go with the better deal but also support the local neighborhood auto shop. Not anymore. I ll now have to take my business elsewhere and won t be able to recommend ATR. And now I ve just read the multiple one star reviews of ATR. #dobetter

~Ty Posting:Both of these guys are extremely knowledgeable and personable people. David is honest & wise for Subaru and all auto types. I have known Ryan for a long time and he has worked on every one of my (and my wife's) Subaru's. This new location is clean and convenient with lots to do within 1 block if you have to wait.

I went to ATR following wheel damage in winter driving. My car was at the shop for eight days. I paid the bill and drove the car one block before noticing a large crack in the windshield. My car did not have any windshield damage previously. I returned to ATR and told David that my windshield cracked while it was at his shop. David did not as much as apologize let alone offer to fix the damage. He told me I was lying and that I dropped off the car with the cracked windshield. Don't mechanics inspect cars thoroughly and offer to make all repairs? If my windshield was already cracked, why wasn't that repair part of my estimate? The biggest advantage of a small business is the customer service. I have never been treated with such disregard after paying a hefty repair bill. I will never use this mechanic again.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

I work in the same area and they said they have a Subaru specialist so I took my Subaru in for a full synthetic oil change and they told me it was going to be $103. I immediately left and found another Subaru specialist shop that charged me $60 for the same service, oil and filter.

(would give 0 stars if I could) took my subaru here with new jersey plates. They took advantage of me. They said i needed a new radiator and a $3000 gasket/engine style fix and the car was undriveable. They didnt do the proper testing on my car and it turned out to be just the radiator. I didnt drive my car for four months and had to rely on ubers (which costed me over $500 to get to work) on their bad testimony and it ended up getting towed for abandonment (along with multiple towing fees). I eventually had a 2nd look and my car turned out to be fine and drivable after getting the new radiator . Im lucky i didnt pay the 3K for stuff i never needed. took a heavy toll on my mental health because of the money that I don t have. DO NOT GO HERE!!

David and Ryan have done all the recent major and minor work on our 2007 Forester, including fixing a number of issues that other subie specialists couldn t figure out. The work was thorough, there weren t any silly upsells or item markups, they were transparent with their labor costs and estimates, and most importantly we haven t had any new or recurring issues with the car in the 15 months since the major work was done. This is really important to me and something that a couple of other subie places couldn't deliver on.We also have a 2017 Sienna and took it to ATR after our pre-paid maintenance package with Toyota expired. I was getting weird vibes from the dealership who, among other things, had been on us to replace the rear brakes. David could have easily said "ok" and done that when I brought in the Sienna, but instead took a look and said it was fine (and safe) to wait a little longer. This has been a recurring theme. David is clear when he sees work that must/should be done ASAP vs. work that can wait ("you'll want new tires before winter" or "get x fixed around your next oil change") vs. small issues ("hey we saw x, it's not a big deal, but want us to fix it while we've got it?").In terms of how long they've had to keep our cars each time, the simple jobs -- new tires, oil change, regular maintenance -- are done quickly and within a predictable window of time, usually 1-2 days or even same day.The big jobs -- heads, clutch, struts, leaky valves -- had more uncertainty, so it was hard to get even a ballpark completion date until they had the vehicle long enough to take a look and figure out parts ordering and delivery, which I understand. If there s anything I d ask them to improve on it's to be a little more proactive with communication once work has started, but I'll happily trade being flexible on the big jobs for the high-quality, no-b.s. outcomes. We live in Central Park North so the location is great for us too.Services: Transmission, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Wheel alignment, Transmission repair, Brakes, Auto tire replacement, Oil change

We have been using ATR for a number of years for servicing and repairs of a 2010 Subaru Forester. We find ATR to be honest, reliable, and reasonably priced.

I have worked with ATR Automotive since they have opened and have been super impressed with their professionalism and high level of service. The team is highly qualified, trustworthy, and do great work. They have helped with routine service and more complicated repairs including a head gasket replacement. They are very thorough with their diagnostic to be sure they are fixing the right problem. Some things only make the watch list which is a great example of their honest approach and desire to only fix what is needed. I have also consulted with the team prior to purchasing a used Subaru to get their opinion on the car and any potential mechanical concerns. They take the time to explain things and answer any question. Highly recommend the team at ATR Automotive. They do awesome work!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Always looking for a trustworthy mechanic. We discussed bringing my car in for a diagnostic yet no price was mentioned. After planning to drop it off at night and do the key drop, I decided I wanted to go in the next day to discuss the cars issues in person and what I had expected the issues to be. Only then was a diagnostic fee mentioned. Look, I realize it is common, however it would have not been okay for me to have dropped my car off only to be pinned with the fee later. Do better.

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP! Went twice both time the repair was twice the estimate. The second time I brought it in I told them my water pump was going out, they said I was wrong and it was fine. One week later car is broke down because the water pump went out. AVOID THIS SHOP, They will milk you for money and not even do good work.

I really appreciate this shop. I go to them now for oil changes, and recently had a battery replaced. They looked at my car and offered suggested repairs. Although my car could use it, after I told the owner about my driving habits (I.e. I don t drive much and don t find myself in the highway often) he was straight-forward and said I d never pressure you into getting the repairs so I know I have time to save. Quality work and honest service, which is the best you can ask for with auto repairs.

I left my subie with these guys without an appointment, and I had my car back within 30 minutes and the check engine light was off. The level of attention and speed in which they got this thing diagnosed are worth 5 star review. Awesome find in my neighborhood! Will be a returning customer.

They tried to charge $200 for a diagnostic when I already ran codes & knew what the problem was. So they charged me $193, & didn't fix the problem. Then said "it's on you, man" when I brought up the issue. Apparently, running my own codes to bypass the $200 diagnostic upset them. Tires plus charges $100 diagnostic fee & puts it toward your repairs. It's what I should've done from the beginning, but a friend recommended ATR. It's a shame, I'd rather use a local mechanic over a chain, but my experience with ATR wasn't "above the rest".Service: Auto engine diagnostic

So impressed by our first experience with ATR. After taking our car to a big name shop and complaining of whole car vibrations above 60 mph, we paid for new tires, wheels and a balance that didn t fix the problem. I decided to see David at ATR. He was efficient, thorough, honest and reasonable. We dropped our car off on Wednesday and picked it up Friday, no multiple week wait for parts and labor. We drove to the mountains that weekend with absolutely no vibration and above all the feeling of safety that our car (and in turn our family!) had been taken care of by knowledgeable and certified technicians. I have been telling all my friends that this the place to go for ALL your car needs. Thanks guys!

These guys rock - great customer service, fair prices and the most important part - NO 2 week wait to get my car looked at and fixed like some of the other garages in the neighborhood. I had issues with both my work truck and our family car with in a week of each other and David and his team got both taken care of within 48 hours of dropping them off. HUGE weight off my shoulders! Thank you!!

Not personal or friendly.Lack of customer service. No stated fee or estimated time.Originally spoke to Ryan over the phone about needing an adjustment after getting new tires on. Come Friday my car was showing signs of overheating , this is an on and off minor issue I've been handling but wanted a second set of eyes or another opinion, as I could not find leakage or malfunction. I mentioned it and was told I could leave my car over the weekend to be looked at .Come Monday I walk into "what do you want" from David, mind you I still was under the impression I had my 9 oclock appointment. Never was there a mention of it being moved or anything. Shop had my contact information.2 different experiences between both workers.First encounter with David was also very unpleasant . Unhelpful and bothered even. So this wasn't too much of a surprise. When I stated I had left my car over the weekend he snapped and said " well we don't work on the weekends" which I understood but was just going based off what I was told on the phone.Never expected my car to be ready when I got there, I was simply hoping on on update. I was then told it would be a few hours before he could look at it. I ubered to the shop so hanging out was my only option as a was scheduled to be at work after this appointment. David argued with me when I was giving him info on what I had seen and had been noticing on my car . He was arguing the issue it could possibly have with me without even having looked at it. I simply was stating what I had noticed but he didn't seem to care for my (female) costumer input. Immediate resolution was my headgaskets Typical repair shop . I then stated I would only be using their services for my original alignment, David said it would be a few hours before they can get started on that .I then took a seat and stated I'd wait until it was done , not shortly after, my car as pulled in and started on . Maybe they were hoping if I thought I'd take all day , I would just leave idk, about a hour later David comes out to let me know that my car is stuck on their new lift. alignment done but my car is "stuck" on their lift. David said he would "have to see if his guy can come out and fix it today"More waiting, after 3+ hours in already .Never once updated me on how long it might be. Finally, annoyed I had to ask how long it would be after already waiting 2 hours after being told it was stuck on the lift "tomorrow at 8 or later" . When I can clearly see he was making no effort to actually get anyone out to help fix his lift. I was satting in their waiting room this entire time. While doing so, I heard David take many customer phone calls so I know he's very capable of being pleasant. It's a shame they pick and choose who to be pleasant with. I had a tire guy recommend this place and I definetly won't do the same but actually the opposite. Word of mouth works both ways.I would love to add that Ryan stayed pleasant through this whole appointment, he was the one working on my car altogether. Unfortunate for myself, I had to deal with David. I sat there from 9am-3:15. When Ryan came out with my car and told me I was good to go, wished me a nice day, I proceeded to pay for the services that had been done. Ryan had been great and I appreciated his work.David without even looking up, stated he wasn't going to charge me for the service . .I said "sweet, thank you" and that was that.Appreciated that immensely and know I needed to add this in my review. Again, just wanted to share my altogether experience.First and last time going there.Oh and I've seen the shop responses on these reviews... sad they never respond to good ones but will argue with people who left their honest experiences. Seems like David.... but I'm not here for you to try to argue with me some more, just leaving my honest female experience at your shop.

Took my Subaru here and was told I needed to pay $8,000 for a new transmission. Took my car to a transmission specialist and was told there was nothing wrong with my transmission I just needed to replace my wheel bearings. Would not recommend due to lack of accurate knowledge and/or dishonesty.

ATR stands for Above the Rest and David absolutely does provide that kind of service! While I was in the shop, I watched a father and toddler son come in and they needed help looking at a problem on their car while it was snowing. David and his team took care of it no problem. They do great oil changes and thorough checks while doing so. I appreciate great customer service like this from auto repair shops! Thank you!

In the summer and fall of 2020, the owner and his mechanic misrepresented to me that certain repairs were necessary that turned out to be bogus or not done as claimed in the invoice. The first time, I fell for it and paid over $2000.00 for repairs. Then, a short time later, the owner claimed that my engine lights were coming on and it would take him a lot of time to figure out why and that it could be expensive. Fortunately, I was suspicious this time and took the car to another mechanic. Turned out that all I needed was a new brake light switch. Total cost: $280.

I would recommend against these guys. I got anti-customer service. Like forcefully, spitefully bad. As new customer! After waiting around for a few hours, I asked if they had any thoughts timing. No whenever he gets to it. He s working on his own car Any guesses? No I went back in and told him I was going to skip it where is my key?. He says nothing, walks to the back, and hands it to me without saying anything.Service: Auto engine tuning

Went in to get a flat tire patched. ATR Automotive claimed I had a sidewall hole and needed 4 new tires. Opted to get a second opinion and took my car to El Branco off E Colfax where they patched my flat tire without issue and sent me on my way. Classic mechanic scammers trying to turn a simple tire patch into 4 new tires.
