This is an update to my review dated 1/31/2024.The things I mentioned in my initial review have been repaired. But...Once the HVAC controls were fixed, it turned out that the AC didn't blow cold. Naturally, the AC coolant had to be drained and the compressor removed for the engine rebuild. But it turns out one of the pressure lines was never reconnected. Which means they didn't even TRY to recharge the AC, since the massive leak would have been obvious to even the most incompetent of mechanics.I also noticed that the fog lights were not coming on. Until I turned on the high beams. Turns out, they managed to plug the high beam wiring into the fog lights and the fog light wiring into the high beams.Taking your car to Steve Mills racing for anything other than the most minor issue (I'm sure they can manage an oil change, assuming they remember to put the plug back in the pan), but the level of competency display is abysmal.

Amazing work. After scratching our head on a misfire code on our Jeep, we took it to Steve. After making Steve scratch his head as well he was finally able to figure out the problem and fixed it. I highly recommend Steve and his crew. They won t steer you wrong and they will make sure the issue is fixed.

Just the facts: repairs were inadequate. Over charge and double charged for repairs and replacement parts. Quoted us one charge, once completed ... $2k or $3k MORE than original quote. It took this shop SIX YEARS to repair and do the work on our car the right way. Terrible business practices in this shop. Beware.

Steve Mills Quality Auto Repair lives up to its' name - QUALITY! Steve and his right-hand man Jeff provide highly experienced oversight to his well trained staff of mechanics who are thorough in their work, making sure the job gets done right. They explain what needs to be done to fix the problem. They also have experience working on older vehicles like my 1991 Ford Explorer with over 450,000 miles which is rare. After replacing my AC System and Power Steering Pump at a reasonable cost, I had a problem with work done at a Ford Dealership. Steve diagnosed the rear differential fluid leak in under five minutes at no charge and Ford fixed the problem they caused at no charge, but only because of Steve's keen eye. Their NAPA Repair Facility Certification is another plus. I'll be back.Services: Auto A/C recharge, Auto A/C replacement

Most excellent Auto Repair in the area. Excellent service, quality, price. The owner is in the race industry, what a wonderful conversation can be had if you're lucky enough to find him there. Which you will, he's always there. And that's what makes this such a wonderful local shop. Not to mention the staff is wonderful. You can't go wrong. I highly recommend.

Steve, Nathan, Ritchie and the rest at Steve Mills are the best. I have three vehicles which they have worked on and I have experienced no problems whatsoever. They repair things correctly and stand behind their work. Their prices are reasonable and their service is beyond belief! Why go anywhere else?

On short notice, Steve helped me so much while traveling through Colorado and trying to get back on the road in my older Dodge truck. Steve diagnosed and inspected the truck before beginning a 1500 mile journey through winter storms. He gave me a very detailed list of items that may be required in the near future to get the truck back into good mechanical condition. I successfully completed my journey back home. I only wish that Steve's business was in my neighborhood! Thank you Steve.

Nathan at the front desk is a friendly face and professional individual that is pleasant to talk to and get a perfect understanding of what needs to be done with your vehicle. Everyone at the shop knows what they're doing. I will 100% go to Steve Mills for everything I need done with my vehicle in the future. They get it done in decent time and get it DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. 10/10Service: Transmission

I have given Steve and his crew several opportunities to do quality work, I have yet to be satisfied. The caliber of diagnostic work is less invasive than a quick google search. I did enjoy the friendly service, but each time was soured with a steep bill for next to no progress. They have completely lost my business, and I will be adamant about warning others to steer clear of them. You re better off hiring a mobile mechanic off Facebook.

Have taken my '67 Mustang to the Mills shop three times in the last year and have always been impressed with the work. Most recently, had suspension work done - the tech went through everything while the car was on the lift and as always, Steve discussed the work with me prior to paying and had personally taken the car for a drive to ensure work was complete as needed. If you have a classic car, this is really the shop for you.

I have been going to Steve Mills for years with my Honda pickup. Steve and his employees have gone the extra mile to make sure my vehicle stays working. Had an issue with it losing charge over night and Steve didn't give up trying to find the solution. After several days, they were able to see for themselves what was happening and fix the issue. I know I can count on Steve Mills Racing to take care of my truck needs. Thanks for all your team has done for me.

These guys are awesome! We were new in town, when my husband was in an accident in my mom's car (1996 Camry). On the spot, I called them to see what to do with the car (we thought it was a goner). After recommending a good towing company, they suggested we have the car towed to them, and they would check out the damage the next day. Low and behold, we had the car back, two days after our accident, in working condition for a reasonable cost. We were delighted that the car even looked and acted like the good old car we were used to. This is only one of our experiences with Steve Mills Racing. I highly recommend this friendly, conscientious group of guys to care for your car.

Had my car towed to Steve Mills Racing for diagnostics. Was told it would be $1200 to replace fuel pump. Couldn't afford that so had it towed back to my house. Paid the $150 bill for diagnostics. When my car was towed back to me, there was a plastic bag taped over the driver's side window. I called and asked what had happened, because when I last saw my car the window was working properly. They stated that it is normal for them to roll down the window before working on a vehicle and it wouldn't roll back up. They stated that it must have not been working before it was dropped off so it wasn't their fault. I disagreed with this so the individual I spoke with stated that he would ask the owner, Steve, and see how he wanted to proceed. A few hours later I received a call and the gentleman said that Steve did not feel that it was his responsibility to correct the problem. Quote "We will just have to agree to disagree". They create a problem and then refuse to fix said problem.

I went in just for a second opinion on something I had diagnosed on my vehicle. I have an interlock device in my car and I've never had issues at other mechanics when it comes to this. I had made it very clear to the mechanic at Steve's to let me know if it started beeping and to have me go to the back or to turn off my car as soon as he took it to the back. He left my car running the whole time it was in the back and let it beep constantly. He ended up running a violation on the device and I had to waste my time driving out to the place to unlock the device and it is not close to my house. I had to pay $75 to unlock it and Steve refunded me which was the least they could do. And now there is a violation on my record that I can do nothing about unless I yet again waste my time to go to the dmv and try to prove why. Steve's ended up quoting me a higher price than the first place so I just completely regret coming here. Oh and that same mechanic who was working on my car left black stuff all over the drivers seat which I was luckily able to wash off myself. EDIT: I also would like to add they were trying to charge me nearly 200 dollars just to replace the battery and clean the area because it was leaking acid. When in fact it is not leaking any acid one bit.

I move often, and I'm now returned to Colorado Springs, and back as a customer of Steve Mills Racing & Acr. The one thing I've learned is that finding a good auto repair shop is not easy. But when you do find one, you'll stick with it. In my opinion, Steve Mills shop is better than good, they're very good. As long as I'm living in Colorado, this is the shop where I'll be bringing my business. I know them to be honest and reliable, and their prices are more reasonable than any of the dealerships.

Steve Mills Racing completed a full inspection of my 2004 Durango. They understood my budget and prioritized repairs in a way I could afford. They repaired required sections first, allowing for follow up appointments for other repairs so I didn't have to break the bank fixing the entire vehicle all at one. Very effective and efficient auto shop.

Labor is always fair. Service on vehicles is excellent. Rides to accommodate all day drop off is convenient and quick. The administrative/scheduling/parts side is easy to work with and very professional. Steve Mills Racing knows race car set-up as well as, day to day services for all vehicles and complicated diagnostics and repair. Will keep coming back indefinitely with all of my vehicles.

In my younger years I used to turn wrenches but times have changed to where I needed a shop with integrity, which is hard to come by in Colorado Springs. I am ever so grateful to the lady that suggested his shop several repairs ago. Even my wife, who has been condescended upon at other shops, enjoys Steve's group for the respect they show and the willingness to explain things without the "Little Lady" attitude. So, if you are looking for a shop that does the job with integrity, honest pricing, respects the car and the driver, see Steve Mills Racing.

Not only is Steve and his whole crew helpful and accommodating, but the repair shop is outstanding. They have bent over backwards to address an unusual problem that I've had, and they solved it completely! Tremendous customer service!! Highly recommend you take your vehicle there for service of any kind. These guys are the real deal, true mechanics.

Steve has an excellent reputation and he s willing to take on repairs that have baffled other good mechanics. My Miata had been evaluated at the dealer and two other Japanese auto shops, but the sudden power loss persisted. Steve reviewed what the other shops had done, and he took the time to listen to my description of events leading up to these engine failures. We agreed the intermittent problem would be a challenge, and he d need the vehicle to road test to try to replicate the problem. Unfortunately the problem didn t recur, but Steve was able to bench test the rear O2 sensor which proved defective. We validated the repair with a punishing mountain run which triggered the last two incidents, while monitoring an OBD monitor. We d lost confidence in the car, but now we re enjoying the Miata as we intended. Can t say enough good things about Steve and his shop.
