I had a perplexing problem with my car and asked them to diagnose it. They did a scan, and pressure tested the coolant system but were not able to readily pinpoint the problem. That is understandable since I could not pinpoint it either. I told them I would wait and see how it developed over time. They told me that there would be no charge. That is unheard of in the auto repair business. Most places will charge $100 for a simple scan. I tried to give the owner a cash "tip" but he refused it. 5 Stars for this business.

They did not honor the warranty on an expensive timing fix because the vehicle was slightly over the date in an oil change. Fast forward several months later unable to check out the vehicle until then, the new shop says that a whole part was put on backwards causing the timing chain to break and ruin valves. Would never recommend this unworthy place.

These guys are amazing. They really want to help and are always willing to take a look at my car when I need it. I m not very car savvy, and Larry always explains everything in detail to help me increase my car knowledge. I ve used Hellem s for years and they ve never failed to be honest and dependable. The lady who sold her car to me recently was so impressed with them during the look-over that they gave her car (they found an issue that could have been bad but was an easy fix), she said she d be switching to them for her other cars. Highly recommend!

Bob and his son were incredible!!! I have been having issues with my vehicle for over a month and no one could figure it out. I called Hellem's auto and they got me in the next morning to diagnose it were able to have it fixed by the afternoon. They were very honest and priced correctly. I appreciate how trustworthy this family business is and will be recommending them and returning to them for any car service I need.Service: Steering & suspension repair

On vacation we experienced auto distress. We googled repair shops close to our rental and gave Hellem's a call. They got our car in that morning and they did a full diagnosis on our car. An oil change and battery later, we were back in vacation mode by the afternoon. Fast, friendly, and honest business. We had no more issues the rest of our vacation or on our 500+ mile journey home.Services: Auto battery replacement, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

I was referred to them,and I had my vehicle towed to them to find the issue they did. $458.53 dollars later,they gave me my vehicle back with front bumper lip separated from thebumper with a large hunk of dirt in between the two,and a check engine light on refused to take accountability for either problem. However I had pics of my Cadillac all the way around before the Tow, and after, so after all Larry's verbal disrespect etc I told him I wasn't going to argue with him, but if them issues weren't taking care of aI was taking him to court,and let the judge decide! So of course with the evidence,and witness he told me I was trying to get a free ride 458.53 dollars later and he didn't want me to ever come back, Did he really think for one second that I would ever return to his business

Hellem's is the best. HONEST. Top quality work. Fair prices. I won't go anywhere else.The "other auto shop" was going to charge nearly $2,000 for repairs on my Jeep, but Hellem's team tightened some hoses, replaced a part and did all the labor for $200. This is why I have trust issues with most other car repair companies. They upsell, charge you for things you don't need, and are overall untrustworthy. Hellem's is different. This is really a great shop and good mechanics! Larry, will not try to over sell you. He does just what is needed. I was driving my 20 yr old Toyota to the West Coast (1300 miles) and I need it to be reliable. Larry took care of just what was needed. I spent a lot less than I expected and my suv didn't even make a hiccup. It ran smooth and without any issue.Service: General repairs & maintenance

You always get honesty from Hellem's. Some repairs have not been cheap, but I've been going to them for 12 years, and they only fix what is needed at the time, for a lot less than anyone else. Do your own research and you will see. I will have some serious issues if they close shop.

I was having electrical issues with my vehicle, thought it may be the alternator. Hellem's determined some loose connections and corrision were the culprits; didnt need an alternator. It's so hard to find an honest anything these days, let alone an honest mechanic. I'll be bringing my vehicle to Hellem's for my future automotive needs. Bob and Larry are TOPS! (That means the very best!) I don't want to take my vehicle anywhere else. The Hellems have integrity! They know how to fix cars well. And they don't overcharge you. Honesty! Integrity! Value! These men of faith have been in business for a long time for a reason! You can trust them. May God bless these Good Men!

Fantastic shop! I've been bringing my vehicles here since 2016 for jobs big and small. They will work on any make/model and do outstanding work. Most recently, the gas tank on my 2016 VW was punctured by road debris - Larry got in into the shop and replaced my gas tank before the dealership could even get it in for an estimate. I am so pleased with their service really honest people I have not had a problem with any work after leaving the shop. I think it's very affordable considering the dealership will charge an arm and a leg. I been back to this shop 6 times for trucks different things in 8 months no complains they are really amazing in taking the vehicle that same day and having it done that same day unless parts are not in so you won't be on foot for that long lol.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

These guys are fair, honest, and do great work! It was my first time using them to replace a timing belt on a Toyota. They were recommended to me by a neighbor who owns a tire shop and they were fantastic. Price was very reasonable (in fact, hundreds less than the "C Brothers"), and they were beyond nice and HONEST. I found my go-to mechanic for sure!

They've earned my trust. When I was new to town, the upper ball joint on the right front side of my '95 pickup failed on me. I looked online for mechanics with good reviews, and they had some of the best. They also had the lowest price out of everyone I called. They fixed the ball joint on the right side the same day, and they checked the other one to assure me that it didn't need replacing.5 months later, my truck is pulling a little bit to the left. I'm sure it's just time for an alignment (I've never done one on it), but I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't the other ball joint starting to fail. They looked at it for me for free, and rather than trying to convince me to replace it unnecessarily, they told me that it's still ok. That's twice they've treated me right, so I thought that was worth a good review!

Best service and A/C repair in Colorado Springs. It took them less than 3 hours to diagnose and resolve my A/C problem that other shops could never figure out. The best part? The entire diagnostic, repair, and part install was less than the diagnostic cost at the dealership. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat! Fair prices and speedy service!

Really friendly service, excellent job, fair and honest work. I don't know much about cars and there is always a fear of getting screwed with extra fees and 'secret' repairs at auto shops, but I got no such sense from these guys. Larry took the extra time to explain what was wrong and why so I could learn! I know where I'll be taking my car from now on.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

I was referred to Hellem's by a work associate. They are honest and straight-forward. Their prices are the best in town, I refer everybody that I talk to that is in need an honest mechanic to Hellem's. They have helped me prioritize the multiple repairs that I need to make to my van. So far they have replaced the entire AC system, and my serpentine belt. They saved me over $750 based on the quotes from the dealership and Firestone!

Bob does a tremendous amount of work for free, troubleshooting and diagnosing car problems.And what I love about him is that he will actively recommend NOT doing something that doesn't need to be done.He told me today, "If it were my car, I wouldn't worry about it." Charged me $0 for probably 2 hours of his time.He's got my business for life.

I have been going to Bob Hellem for ALL my car issues since 1994 and I have NEVER been disappointed. He is A MECHANICS MECHANIC, DOES EXCELLENT WORK, TRUSTWORTHY, HONEST, and has WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will go to him as long as he is in business. WHAT A GREAT GUY AND makes sure that you are completely satisfied.THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE AND TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLE.

I ve had really bad experiences with mechanics in the past and most of the time I try to do the work on my truck myself but every once in a while the problem is beyond my knowledge. Hellem s is really great! They help me out and sometimes I can do it myself and when I can t I can trust them and know they are trustworthy. I am so happy a friend recommended this place.

It's not that difficult to find a good mechanic. But it is difficult to find an honest one. Bob Hellem is that. He has been serving my auto repair needs since 1990 and he's always done right by me. I hesitate to write review because he's already got enough work and I don't want to have to compete with new customers. So don't go to him.
