The whole ranch experience was absolutely incredible. We left very impressed with the attention to detail. Rooms were spotless & serviced every morning. The wide range of welcome snacks & drinks left in the room were delightful. In fact, we requested Dr Pepper for our room and not only did they leave a 12 pack for us, they put 2 cans in the fridge so they were cold & ready for us upon arrival (ie attention to detail). The staff was very well trained and knew how to treat guests. Vista Verde is the gold standard of customer service. The food was plentiful and delicious. Thank goodness for the wide range of guided activities as to offset the amount of delicious food consumed. The whole experience was worth every penny. Highly highly recommend. We look forward to visiting again.

As the owner of a hospitality company, and someone with nearly two decades in the highest levels of service, I was very impressed by the the team, and the experience, at VVR. First, everyone is so kind and helpful. You are constantly mingling with the staff, and it s neat to hear their stories and what brought them from all over the country to this ranch. The rooms are first class. (Cabins). Heated floors, great amenities, plenty of space. We stayed in one of the smaller cabins and probably could have gotten by with just 1/3 of it. That said, for families, there is plenty of room to have two kids with you (in the smallest cabin) and have ample space for them to play and not feel on top of each other. We did many activities, and the group dinners, lunches, breakfast gatherings, and daily happy hours make meeting fellow guests very easy if that s your thing. We were there during record snow. The team was constantly blowing the paths, and the team would also come shovel your Porch every morning. The food was great, and the chef was right there to help with any dietary need you may have. The hot chocolate was great, but not on the menu. Ask the staff about the off menu items. One thing I was concerned about was snacks (as I don t like people cutting off my access to a kitchen)- but this was resolved with the basket left in every cabin containing nearly a dozen items such as fruits, nuts and cookies. Also, there is a fully stocked fridge. That said, being hungry wasn t even the slightest concern, not eating too much was. Every meal was great and there were many options for each meal. While eating, the staff would come around and confirm activities for the day, allowing you to pivot if something else sparked your interest. The ladies who ran the horses were great. They knew all 100 horses by name and were very good with any leery riders. All of the activity guides were very encouraging and informative. At night, we did the group trivia game one night, and went to the barn dance another night. Overall, it was just a great time with exceptional service in the middle of nowhere. I just add that we watched the playoff game in the main lodge, as I know people like their sports.Overall, is it cheap - no. Is it remote- yes. Can you complete detach if you want to- yes. Was the food great - yes. Was the staff great - yes. Have they thought of most things in advance to make sure you are comfortable- yes. Can you get Wi-Fi in your room - kinda. Will you meet cool people - yes. Are the GMs active and accessible and involved with guests- yes. Can you get stuck on your way there and be stuck paying for a room you aren t using, plus the added cost of a hotel room- yes. Are the hot tubs great and checked every day - yes. Is there any pressure to tip - no. Can you buy supplies that you may have forgotten in town or at the ranch - yes. Do they offer to stop you in town on the way from the airport - yes. Overall, if you want to get away, see a lot of different things in a short period, and support a great small business that is employing dozens of great people this is a great spot. A great place to get out of your comfort zone with your peers, and also to sit by the fire and read a book. There s as much peace and quiet as you want, or as much action as you can sign up for. It s kid friendly and the days are well planned out so you get nice breaks in between activities if you want them. Great place for horse lovers, lovers of nature, and lovers of quality food and service.

I photographed an elopement at Vista Verde Ranch in June this year, and I already can't wait to go back because WOW what a place! The views are beautiful, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful, and the lodging, meals, and activities are all first class. It's remote and that's a good thing!

Think about a stunning mountain setting. Add more aspens than you ve ever seen before and over 100 horses. Now layer in large, well-appointed cabins and the warmest, most accommodating staff you can imagine, guiding you through activities that are more enjoyable than you re thinking. Then top it off with delicious food three times a day. That s Vista Verde Guest Ranch.

Vista Verde is a truly incredible place. My mom and I had the most amazing week here and can not stop talking about what a phenomenal time we both had. The staff are exceptional, from the wranglers to the guides, to those working at the front desk, everyone was so kind and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. I loved the wide array of daily activities to chose from (the horsemanship clinic, beer tasting, and photography workshop were a few of my favorites) and every single meal we ate was absolutely delicious. Thank you to everyone at VVR for making this such a special mother daughter trip, I can t wait to come back soon!

Visited for my honeymoon and I was here for a week. The staff are the nicest people I've ever met. Only ever had to introduce myself once to staff and next time I saw them they always remembered my name. This was the same for other guests too. They really went above and beyond to ensure each experience was personal and comfortable. Whatever we needed, staff was happy to oblige. Food is delicious and there is no shortage of activities. We will absolutely be repeat visitors. I can't say enough positive things about this place and I'm so happy my wife and I chose to spend our honeymoon here.

Just got back from our five day trip to VVR. I don't often leave reviews, but my family had such a great time I had to share. The staff is outstanding and will go far out of the way to make sure you have what you need and are having fun. The cabins are very comfortable and updated. Living space isn't that big, but we didn't spend much time there. The food is excellent, every meal was really well prepared and unique. Everyone in my family loved it, especially my 12 and 13 year old girls (good for kids any age). If you are looking for a vacation where you stay active, get great service and meet other guests in a small family setting....this is for you.

The besttttttt place I've ever been to. Everything is perfect. Whole ranch is gorgeous, people there are so sweet. They give you homely feeling. You feel like you belong there. My fiance and I got engaged there and they made sure everything was perfect. Everyone there knew about the proposal. Everyone congratulated us afterward. It was so sweet the surprise they gave us when we went back to our cabin. I'm glad my fiance picked this place to propose to me. I don't think any where else it would have been this perfect. I could go on and on about the experience there but I think it'll be best to go to the ranch and experience it yourself. You won't regret it I promise! I'm definitely going back. My fiance and I made a plan to go back soon with our families.

We cannot say enough good things about our experience at Vista Verde Ranch!! My husband and I chose the ranch to get married and "Elope on the Slopes." From the moment we made our first phone calls, with my mountain list of questions, to our drop off at the airport after our stay, we were welcomed with open arms! The staff is so friendly and genuinely happy to be working there, which completely shows in their work ethic. When people ask about our stay I first go to the experience we had w/ staff and how much it seemed they wanted to make sure we had the best time possible. They are so knowledgeable in each of their specialties and love what they do, it truly shows! Our stay exceeded my expectations. When we arrived at the airport there was a shuttle waiting to bring us to the ranch- even though we arrived early they brought us back to have lunch and explore before we checked in. Each day we got to pick exactly what we wanted to do from their list of activities; back-country skiing, fat tire biking, tubing, snow shoeing, horseback riding, and sleigh rides to name a few. We got married in front of the massive stone fireplace. Everything went so smoothly. We felt like we did not have to THINK about a thing our entire stay. We sat back, relaxed, and were taken care of...which is exactly what a vacation should be!In addition to being absolutely accommodating to our every need, there were some things that stood out to us that made our stay that much more special. We were surprised with champagne and strawberries dipped in chocolate on the day of our wedding. The pastry chef also made a cake for us and that evening when the band played, they gave us our first dance. If that isn't enough, when we went outside for a sleigh ride, a member of the staff had printed out "Just Married" and stringed them to the back of the sleigh!Mick and I cannot thank you enough for making our day, and week, so so special! We will absolutely be back & will be sending more friends and family your way.

The warmth and congeniality from the staff at VVR was unlike any other vacation resort I ve been to before. I genuinely felt that each member of the ranch team was glad to have me there and interested in me having the best experience I could have. I will have to especially give a shout out to Charlie & Ben who each shared a lot about their off work lives with my sister & I with no reservation. It really created a bonding atmosphere for me.The number of repeat guests we met ranging from 6 to 12 years of returning to the ranch, speaks volumes in and of itself ! I am already looking to book a winter getaway for myself to experience the ranch in snow season this coming 2020 season. Well done everyone!

Heaven is the word to best describe our experiences at VVR. Our family of four have been there 5 times, three times in the summer and twice in the winter season. We feel like it is our luxury home away from home. The staff are warm and friendly always making us feel special. The food is outstanding - the perfect mix of variety, healthy and decadent. There is something for everyone at meal time and they cater to all food limitations. The setting is breathtaking, surrounded by National Forest as far as the eye can see. My husband spends his time fly fishing with expert guides to ensure the experience lives up to each guest's experience level. Our girls, ages 11 and 9, love the kids program so much it is hard to pry them away to hang out with us. They safely roam free, riding bikes and going on adventures all day. The "kid wranglers" are amazing with the kids. For those who love horseback riding, the trail rides are idyllic and also customized. Whenever I am stressed at work - I visualize the views during the trail rides. We feel like the staff is family to us - they remember our preferences and take such good care of everyone. The limited number of guests really provides a serene and personalized experience. I would give VVR 10 stars if there were that many to give. We plan to return every year until hopefully our kids work there someday!

This was my first time ever in Colorado or seeing snow like this (born and bred Texan, what can ya do?) Kind of like a last hoorah before kids come into the picture. And I just have to say that Vista Verde took my experience to a whole other level. Everything went seamlessly- picked up from airport on time, ordered a snow gear kit and it was waiting in our room, complimentary snacks and drinks, etc etc. The food was delicious, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the best part was I didnt have to lift a finger or think too much about what activities we were going to do. Looking at ski resorts and hotels made my head spin with how much planning I would have to do. With Vista Verde- they took away the hassle and made sure the only tough decision I had to make was what I would be eating off the menu each day. They have made my husband and I repeat visitors!

This ranch is amazing. Beautiful landscape, lots of amazing views, secluded from the hustle and bustle. There is horseback riding, fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, and amazing food. The employees here are so nice, really helpful, and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Will definitely be coming back.

Could not speak more highly of the professionalism at Vista Verde. Great food, great sights, and even better people. Would also highly recommend for first time guest ranch visitors looking for shorter 4 night stays vs 7 days.

I would give it one star but this company clearly pays to remove it s one star reviews. Vista Verde Ranch is responsible for a Covid outbreak after knowing that 5 of their employees have Covid and are in quarantine but the ranch never even bothered to call the 7 families staying at the ranch that came into contact with these employees. These families left the ranch and had no idea they were exposed and continued on enrolling their children in summer camps and putting so many others at risk. How in the world can you NOT inform the families directly in contact with your Covid positive employees?

Beware, Vista Verde did not take safety seriously and does not take care of its guests! I had one of the worst experiences of my life when a Vista Verde employee, who was driving my family on a Ranch snow mobile, ran us into a ditch on the way to cross country ski on Ranch property. The Vista Verde employee drove myself, my husband and our young son off of the marked path and into a ditch; the snow mobile tipped over, and my family was ejected off of the snow mobile. I suffered a severe concussion which has required neurological treatment and over 40 physical therapy and speech therapy sessions over the past year. Vista Verde management, who remain employees, failed to ensure that their driver had appropriate safety gear and equipment, failed to seek any outside medical treatment for me or my family and did not check in with us in the evening or overnight after my head injury. Needless to say, we will not be back to Vista Verde!Vista Verde wants to make you believe that this was just an unfortunate accident, and that we oops, we fell off the snow mobile. This is NOT the case. The Vista Verde guide, Tom Fagin, was negligent. He was not wearing sunglasses or goggles when he drove the snow mobile. In fact, here is what Vista Verde's accident report, prepared by Steven M. King, Manager of the Adventure Center, stated on March 17, 2016:"ALL TRAIL SIGNS WERE VISIBLE. While transporting David, Rachel & Jacob to a family ski trip, Tom Fagin, ski guide, MISSED THE TRAIL and went down a snow bank and TURNED OVER THE SNOW MACHINE. All three guests landed on their right side and impacted the snow. David and Rachel impacted each others heads." The report further states, "Tom was not wearing sun glasses or goggles." In fact, we were only approx. 400 yards from the Adventure Center when Tom turned over the snow mobile. We are quite saddened that Vista Verde has not shown integrity in handling the impact of my traumatic brain injury. What we have learned through my 10 months of recovery is that there is no way to know the full extent of damage in the immediate aftermath of a traumatic brain injury. This injury has had a devastating impact on myself and my family. The bottom line is that we expected more out of Vista Verde.
