Incredible customer service!! I called in the morning about purchasing snow tires for an upcoming trip. Dave helped me select tires and even applied a coupon for me. However the tires I originally ordered weren't available so Dave drove to Denver to pick up even nicer tires for me, and sold them at the original quoted price. This was super kind and the tires are awesome. Thanks for the great service Dave!!!

While I was at a nearby coffee shop, a friend pointed out that one of my tires looked dangerously low. I walked across the parking lot and asked if Roadmasters could look at it. They said they could look and hopefully get it back to me in 2 to 3 hours. They had it fixed within 30 minutes, and sent me on my way! I was very impressed with the kindness, professionalism, conscientiousness, and speed with which they helped me when I just walked in with an immediate issue.

I received a coupon for a $38 oil change and tire rotation, so I decided to try them. Dropped my 16 year old Honda off in the morning and when I picked it up that evening, I was told the coupon was not valid for my vehicle and that the oil change would be $103 because my vehicle required synthetic oil. The owners manual does not state synthetic is required and no one called to inform me my service price would be more than double. I was also surprised to not receive any inspection notes that are common with other oil changes like fluid levels, tire pressure and tread depth, brake inspection, etc

This review is for one-star performance and I m giving this shop two stars only because as my neighborhood shop I ve gone here many times over the years and have had overall good experiences in the past. After doing some work on my car myself, I took it in for an alignment. I paid for the alignment -- and extra work that I found questionable -- and brought it home. Luckily I took a look at what was done, because they had forgotten to tighten the jam nuts that lock the outer tie rods to the inner ones and it was obvious to see. This is the alignment equivalent of forgetting to tighten the lug nuts or not tightening the oil drain plug. After calling the shop to tell them about it at the end of the day, I was assured that I would get a call from the manager the following morning and that they would take care of the problem (I don t have the huge wrench necessary for these nuts). But that call never came, and two days later I have a terrible impression of their service AND their customer service. Sure I could call to remind them, but I should not have to - this is a really embarrassing screw-up. For the same amount of time as having to drop it off and pick it up again, I'll have someone that I trust tighten the nuts me, after I find the right size wrench and they lost a long-term loyal customer.

I brought my van into them to have radiator fixed. The office manager kept calling me telling me more issues with my van totaling astronomical amounts. I finally told them to put it back together and I would tow it to dealer to fix. "To not lose my business" they offered to fix everything but only charge me for radiator fix. The mechanic failed to tighten all bolts and I had been unknowingly leaking coolant for months. I took it to another shop and they actually repaired it. I now have engine damage. They ignored my BBB complaint. SHAME ON THIS BUSINESS.

I went to Roadmasters with some concern about an issue with my headlamp. I was charged a hefty diagnostic fee and told that my headlamp pigtail needed to be replaced. I took my car to another shop in Boulder to get a second opinion, and the owner told me that repair would cost less than a third of the price I was quoted at Roadmasters. When I took my car into this other shop for the repair, it turns out the bulb just needed to be replaced and the pigtail was fine. Concerning that I was charged so much for a diagnostic fee at Roadmasters and apparently they diagnosed a problem that didnt exist? Definitely felt like I was getting scammed. Would not recommend this place at all.

We had our cars routinely maintained here for a year or two before we realized that they were doing no checks on other potential maintenance needs for our vehicle. We purchased new tires with them at one of our oil changes and, upon returning for an oil change in the future, they noted that "whoever has been maintaining your car, completely neglected the tires and failed to rotate them." This resulted in us replacing two tires with a tread of 8 and two tires with an almost 0 tread. When I mentioned to the cashier that they had done ALL maintenance, tires, and upkeep for the last several years, the guy behind the cash register noted, "Oh. Well. That's embarrassing."Upon going out to my car after that visit, there was some internal piece of my car sitting on the dashboard. I brought the piece back in and said, "I think this is supposed to be in my car?" The man agreed and they put that part....somewhere....hopefully back in my car?....hopefully in the right place?I think the major point here is that if you like your car and you want it to continue to work, Roadmasters may not be the place for you. There are lots of alternatives in Boulder, so I recommend you take your money and your time elsewhere.

The guys at Roadmasters are great they turned my slip-n-slide car into an army tank! They got me new snow shoes, an alignment, fixed the check engine light and even installed led fog lights for me!! Absolutely amazing you guys thank you, now my little old dinosaur is a freaking T-rex!! Best auto shop in Boulder no questions.

Roadmasters has a really friendly team and they certainly get the job done but they aren t always the speediest or communicative about the status of your car if a service is taking longer than intended.

Possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Despite making an appointment several days in advance, they had no record of it when we arrived. After some discussion, they said they could do a mount and balance (we already had the tires) in an hour and a half. Would have been totally reasonable except they've taken 3 hours and work is still not done. Missed several plans due to their incompetence and lack of equipment. They don't have a lift that is capable of holding an F250! In Colorado! Do yourself a favor and avoid like the plague, could not possibly recommend less.

They do the right thing, and treat customers fairly. We had some road debris puncture a tire on our mini and because the nail was too close to the sidewall, they determined it couldn t be patched, and so there was no charge for this work. I d absolutely return to them for future work.

These guy do a great job, I think for a reasonable price. One time they fixed some bottom damage on our Prius, and the bill was less than $60! Less than a tire change! But I wish tire change prices had not gone up. But that's the way it is. Anyone, they are honest and kind and good mechanics!

Held my car an entire day for an expensive oil change. Then lied to me about how thick my brakes were to try to get me to give them more $$

AVOID THIS PLACE IF POSSIBLE (especially if you are a woman) - I was slightly suspicious at first when I got some new tires and they did not itemize the total or even let me know of the total cost prior to when I went to pay (I also felt like their front desk person was un-necessarily condescending and annoyed when I was asking clarifying questions). Fast forward, and our engine began stalling, dash lights fading, and the fuel gauge wasn't reading properly despite the tank being full. Though they were able to see us day-of, a couple hours later they called us saying the only problem was that the "car was out of gas" just based off of pulling codes. Not once did they carefully inspect under the hood or even check to see if the tank had gas in it (which it did) - they charged us $200 and we drove away only to stall a block away from their shop. Turns out it was the alternator and they would have known that if they had done a proper inspection of the car. We didn't take the car back because it was clear what kind of service we'd receive. This place cuts corners and is lazy, is rude to (women) customers, tries to up-charge, isn't transparent about pricing, and should be avoided if possible.Services: Auto tire replacement, Auto maintenance

They quoted me a $89 for an oil change over the phone knowing the make, model and year of my vehicle. When I returned to pick up my car, they charged me $140, telling me that I asked for an additive , when I did not. Their excuse was you needed the additive , but I did not agree to the service or price. I felt dismissed and taken advantage of. I will not be returning.Service: Oil change

I made an appointment to replace my tires. I was told if I dropped the car at 7:30, it should be done in 3 or 4 hours. I emphasize the honest (but vague) "should". At 8:00, I received a text message that I will be informed of updates on my car during the day. After no updates, I called at 2:00pm, the only answer I got then was that it will be done at the end of the day. Do not use some text messaging software if you are not going to use it! Finally, at 4:15, I got an update that there was a glitch in the system and that the tires did not make it. No apologies.

I have been bringing my vehicle here for several years. Historically they have been great (at least as far as I can tell). I recently brought my car in for an oil change/regular service and to check the front brakes as they sounded like they were metal on metal. I pick up my car after service, they said brakes may need to be replaced at time of next service, but they were ok. I leave, (everyone in the shop was in a hurry to leave at 4:30pm on a Wednesday, brakes are still grinding. I have to wait another 4 days to get into another shop- I m grinding my rotors, metal on metal. Roadmasters has lost my confidence, I now question their previous work did they replace my rear brakes last time? I don t know. They have lost my business. Nothing worse than an untrustworthy mechanic.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

Came here for an oil change on my 2 year old subaru. Staff was polite, price was typical, no indication of any issues with the work. The desk called me to let me know that my car was ready and that my cabin air filter was "extremely dirty" and should be replaced for $30. Fortunately I always inspect it myself the day before an oil change, and knew for a fact that it was perfectly clean (only 5k miles on this filter, manufacturer recommends 12k mile replacement). I use this as a litmus test for whether a mechanic is honest, so I won't be returning here. Would have been 5 stars but I'm taking 1 star off for the dishonesty.

THIS TIRE SHOP SAVED MY LIFE! Highly recommend. Owner (maybe?) guy at the front and tire technician were so super friendly. They helped me out in a dire situation and I could not be more appreciative. Great, professional job and made me feel safe again. Thank you so much! Highly recommend to use this place for all your car issues if in Boulder area. Great service and great job!Service: Tires

We came in about a month ago because there was a strange sound coming from my brakes. The man on the phone was very patient, kind, and friendly. And he said I could bring the car to the shop on the same day. They worked on my car and fixed the problem quickly. My husband really enjoyed their professional and friendly service and told me to give them a 5 star review. So here it is!

This place is awesome. They always take the time to explain what repairs they're doing and help prioritize what needs to be done first if you're unable to afford them all at once. As someone with an older car on a budget, I really appreciate this! The employees also go above and beyond. I live close by and one time had an issue with my car at home that did not repeat itself when I took it in. Not only did they run free tests on my car all day, but they offered to come to my home and look at my car if the issue happened again. I've been taking my car here for a few years now and will continue to do so as long as I live in Boulder!

I ordered my tires during Goodyears Black Friday sale using the websites tire sizing guide based on my vehicle make & model - the tires that were delivered to Roadmasters did not fit my vehicle. They were extremely helpful in issuing a refund & helping set me up with a new pair of tires (& better ones at that). Since my original order included the installation cost Matt honored that even though it meant covering his shops labor cost. This customer service is what makes all the difference to me & has earned Roadmasters my repeat business moving forward. Check them out if you appreciate local, quality service!Service: Tires

Do your homework before coming here. Get multiple quotes before you have them do the work. Their quote was more than double for the same work at other shops in town and repairs they said were needed were exasperated.

Brought my '92 Volvo V70 with 210k+ miles in for a couple of new tires. I was on a budget, and these guys understood. Didn't try to up sell me anything I didn't need, which I always appreciate.Ended up needing some more pressing work done (ball joint/control arm and radiator repair), and they quoted me fair prices (radiator quote was a tad high, but that's no big deal). Ed was straight with me and told me I shouldn't dump too much money into an old car. Again, I appreciated the honesty. I just needed to get the thing back home to CA safely.Overall, quality work, good advice, trustworthy dudes. Kept my car going and was able to get it back to California in one piece. Thanks guys.

I was traveling out of state, looking for a place to have the car fluids and tires checked. I was having difficulty locating a business willing to check the car without any other services. Without charge, Steve came to the rescue. I have a new car and he showed me where the fluid checks are located and did a thorough check of the car. There was no wait and Steve provided excellent customer service. I highly recommend this business.

I'd come to Roadmasters even if it weren't my neighborhood mechanic because Steve and his team treat you like neighbors. The service is prompt and professional, but what really keeps me happy is how they don't try to baffle and upsell. I had a messed up alignment so I brought it to Roadmasters; the problems with my steering rack were carefully explained, my options weighed, and when I did the job myself, they applauded my work and carried over my previous alignment cost because "it's the right thing to do." After numerous flat patches (who is scattering nails over our roads?!?!), I trust Steve to tell me when it'll be a quick patch and when I've got to replace the tire - he usually patches me up and I'm good until another tire catches a nail... I bet they've saved at least a full set of tires for me over the years. Roadmasters is run by decent humans - they're closed on weekends so their staff can have a life! - and the concern and compassion for others is readily apparent at this South Boulder auto shop; I'll keep depending on Roadmasters for years to come!

I have had many oil changes, brake work, new tires, and a few mysterious engine problems worked on here over the years. Manager is clear about work needed and about pricing. On the one or two occasions when the first try didn't fix my problem, they made sure to get the car back from me and fix the problem with very fair pricing (or none, or even--once--a refund for "over-fixing" the wrong thing the first time).Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

With the snow and sharp drop in temperatures that we experienced this week we discovered that our van's battery was dead. I was not able to successfully jump start the van myself and had to leave for work. Long story short, Steve went above and beyond to get us a new battery. Since we couldn't get the van to them they came to us and did a home install while we were at work! We have been bringing our cars to Roadmaster Auto for years and know them to always be, not only great at repair, but honest and reliable, we trust them with our cars and our garage code! Thanks so much for helping us out, you guys are the best!

Had a good experience here! Came in for new tires, but while installing new tires they discovered the bearing in my front left wheel was in really bad shape. Wound up spending much more than I intended, but they went out of their way to give me discounts and rebates to bring the price down. They even fixed my exhaust leak for no charge. Everything was done very timely, and they communicated with me through the whole process.
