We brought our vehicle to this group because good reviews and supposedly they work with our warranty company. Working with Daniel at the front has been difficult from the start. She s rude on the phone, talks over and cuts us off mid-sentence. We ve tried with several attempts to coordinate to make this work and confirm warranty coverage and her demeanor made us decide to take the vehicle back and find another shop, after having to pay for diagnostics with no work and paying for a rental car while we waited. Shop mechanics may be good - but front office staff really lacks in customer service. Waste of time, energy, and money.

I brought in a used car that I was considering buying for an inspection. Pellman s looked over, explained the report to me and provided an estimate of the cost of recommended repairs. It helped me be confident in my decision. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. I d definitely return!

They did a fabulous job of renewing my Pilot s front suspension and worked diligently to correct an out of spec brake rotor that was causing a small shimmy. I highly recommend their professionalism and attention to detail.

I have been with PELLMANS for over 20 years and they continue to deliver excellent quality; sometimes above and beyond.I recently tried to pick up my car late in the afternoon after it had been with them while I was out of town; a tire had gone flat and they noticed I had a bad cell in my battery.They fixed the flat and dealt with my battery that was still under warranty but bought elsewhere; no charge for either and no complaints about the untimely extra work.I appreciate that they keep track of services recommended and help me decide what to undertake with my aging car.HIGH RECOMMENDATION !!!

Great experience. I've been looking for a Boulder automotive place I could trust. Pellman's did a thorough check and was honest with me about what I needed to do and could probably wait on. Not only were they honest and did good work on my car, they shuttled me to work while I left it there for the day. They also have bikes you can borrow to get around while they work. Definitely going back!Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Oil change

I've done business with Pellman's for close to 20 years now. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, honest and timely. Prices are completely fair and the work and customer service is outstanding. I can't recommend the team at Pellman's enough.

I was recently visiting Nederland, CO from Kansas City. My 4Runner broke down on a mountain road in the early morning hours the day we were headed home. We called 4 or 5 mechanics who were unable to help us same day before we reached Dan at Pellman s. He told me they leave space in their schedule for emergency situations and got us right in. We were back on the road by 3 pm without any hassle. The service was quick and quality, and Dan and his team were friendly and helpful. The pup in the office was a bonus as well. Thank you, Pellman s. Highly recommend!!

I am a bit surprised at all the positive reviews for Pellman s, as mine was a thoroughly sleazy experience. They were rec. ed for their integrity by my classmate, a mechanical engineer who often worked on her own vehicles (which I mentioned at drop off.) Based on my experience, I can t say customer service, retention, or loyalty was a big priority. Anyways, I came across the records today and felt my story was worth sharing.I d dropped off my daughter s Golf for servicing. The inspection came back with the usual necessary/unnecessary recommendations - 2 were red flagged for immediate attn. - brakes and water pump. I d just put on new tires, so i knew brakes were necessary - not sure on the water pump, but at their insistence, agreed to both, and camped out at a local coffee shop.While I was waiting, I received a call from the svc. Tech saying he had *misquoted the price for water pump replacement, and it would be an extra $350. He attributed it to using a natl. coding service that hadn t yet updated the new repair prices for the year. As it was a snowy day and this was a high priority item, I uneasily agreed (but got off the phone and started checking prices.)The brake replacement price was/still is 30-40% higher than KBB s est. for this repair and as it was now snowing hard, I decided on getting a 2nd opinion on the mysterious water pump. Money really isn t an issue, trust now was. When I got to Pellman s, the tech dramatically showed me ht replace antifreeze, cautioning me to check levels religiously and get pump replaced asap or REALLY-BAD-THINGS-WOULD-HAPPEN (I m sure I do not look like someone who replaces anti-freeze but still, was it necessary to make me feel i was starring in Squid Game?)Long story short. I took to another outfit in Denver where I spec requested water tank. Inspection - sorry, they didn t find ANYTHING. I never did have to replace the antifreeze - the level stayed steady for 13 months, with no problems. This spring there was the littlest of leaks - which ended up being part of a recall for the car, and VW handled it for free. (Google fact check - i do have my service records to verify this review.)As far as Pellman s goes - the owner called the next day to *check up on me and my safety and the service - I m sure declining the water pump replacement after receiving a literal phishing mark up contributed to his kind concern. The (token) female svc tech who originally helped me i see you. My classmate was mortified and I still don t know ht replace antifreeze.A real disappointment after all the warm and fuzzy reviews and getting a trusted referral. Maybe they do take care of some customers - i was not one of them - as for services and pricing, do your homework people, it s what google is for.

My experience with Pellman s was fantastic. My check engine light and a whole bunch of other lights came on and started flashing so I pulled off the highway. After I stopped to wait for an opportunity to merge into traffic, my car wouldn t move again. I looked for AAA approved repair shops and found Pellman s. I picked it up on Wednesday and I ve had no problems since. I was happily surprised that the owner reached out to me via text today to ask about my experience. I would like to share my response.Hi Brad! Thank you for reaching out. My entire experience was lovely. Over the phone I spoke mostly with Danielle and Matt. Danielle was very kind and helpful and Matt was amazing. Between his voice, demeanor, and knowledge, Matt is incredibly calming. Working with him reminded me of working with my dad. He was happy to explain things to me and I felt confident that he wanted the best outcome for myself and my car. He was also happy to call my real father and speak with him about anything I was unsure of. We still don't know exactly why my car did what it did, but it hasn't done it since. If it does, I will absolutely be using your store. Thank you and everyone that I worked with. The whole thing was a really nice experience.My experience in person was also wonderful! I recently purchased a used car, and had Pellman's do a used car inspection for me. I couldn't have been more pleased! The inspection was very thorough, and the person I spoke with after the inspection was completed was happy to answer my questions. I purchased the car, and have been very happy with it. Pellman's has taken care of my car since I bought it: All the regular maintenance, all troubleshooting and problem solving, even the pre-purchase inspection, and they've always done fantastic, punctual, courteous work. The entire team at Pellman's is wonderful, professional, and really do care about their customers. Great for tacoma work.Update now 2 years going here: Pellman's continues to provide great service on warrantied parts. Before a planned road trip with little notice during a busy end of day hustle, an advisor and technician both spent time with me and my truck on a lift to properly diagnose a major issue and repair it within 24 hours. Pretty cool.

Finally, a repair shop that treats you like a human being. I transferred to Pellman's from a Subaru dealership, and it is a world of a difference. They treat you with so much kindness and respect. Car is done with maintenance in a timely manner. An example, I had my car towed in there when the radiator failed, late on a Monday. Got it fixed and picked up bright and early Wednesday morning(the same week). The efficiency is unmatched. Dealership didn't want to even see my car for a week! This is my new forever place for my cars.

I have been going to Pellmans for years and I find them to be very reliable and reasonable. They do solid work and have never pushed me to do "extra" work during a visit. And their waiting area is comfy and homelike. Some days an employee's dog is there to keep me company. I will use this shop forever. Pellman's is great! I was new to CO and looking to have my car serviced. I brought it to Pellman's based on the reviews I saw here; they did not disappoint! I received a quality and transparent assessment of my car. They called and walked me through the details, recommending some repairs immediately and some to keep in mind for the next service. Their communication was thorough and relaxed, and I felt very comfortable working with them. I ve continued to bring my car in and always receive quality service. Highly highly recommend!

While they aren't the cheapest mechanic in town, Pellman's holds themselves to a very high standard that is hard to find. I've gotten a few big services done here. On my most recent visit, I had needed a radiator replacement but didn't have an appointment. I knew it would be a few days, so I wasn't sure if I should leave it or just do it myself. While I was discussing it in the parking lot with Brad Pellman, the owner, he fixed a completely separate intermittent no-start issue I was having (just corroded battery terminals), for free, just to be nice. I decided to have them replace my radiator, and Brad personally made sure it was done before I needed my car the next week.

I've been a customer at Pellman's for over 10 years now. I've always felt the staff at Pellman's has given me trustworthy advice on maintaining my vehicles. The staff is friendly and pleasant work with. The provide detailed reports about all the things they inspect during an oil change. And on the rare occasion when something wasn't fixed correctly the first time, they've gone out of their way to get it addressed immediately.

I had to have my vehicle towed to Pellman s after my engine overheated. They were incredibly professional and were able to look at and repair my vehicle at a reasonable. They notified me of some major repairs that needed to be made and were very straight forward with their pricing. My vehicle is now running better than ever! Everyone I spoke to was kind and had no problem explaining every step along the way, and they send you repair/diagnostic updates through text and send you a link that shows a breakdown of every issue they find in your vehicle. They are incredible, and I will definitely be returning to Pellman s for any future repairs.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

Pellmans was recommended to me by a former mechanic. He said they are trustworthy and do excellent work. I have used them ever since and found the recommendation to be accurate. They are also very professional, kind and helpful. They go out of their way to be of excellent service. However the first two things; being trustworthy and excellent work are the most important to me. In this time of uncertainty, Mark and the Pellman's staff were careful, clean, and efficient in fixing my car. I had a number of issues with breaks, tire rods, and steering knuckles, but they were quick, upfront, and honest with me about pricing and time frame.Most importantly, they ended up not needing to replace something that they thought they might have to and they DID NOT pull the wool over my eyes. A great mechanic can be hard to find but Pellman's amazing customer service, trustworthiness, and honest demeanor will keep me returning.I drove up all the way from Denver and they have easily earned a loyal customer!

Although I no longer live in Boulder and take my car for routine oil changes to a place closer to where I am, if there is any work that needs to be done, I immediately call Pellman's because I trust their quality of work and have only experienced honest and transparent communication.Unfortunately I had my catalytic converter stolen and Dan worked with both myself and my insurance company through the process. In the end, they aren't performing the repairs, but they charged me absolutely nothing for the help and assistance I received, which was vital in the claims process. I truly felt that I had support through this entire ordeal.Their customer service alone deserves 10 stars. Thank you, Dan - I really do appreciate all the support you've given to me during this stressful time.

I am a huge fan of Pellman's Automotive! I have been taking my vehicle there for maintenance and repairs for several years now. They are really good at explaining mechanics to a lay person, and they also give their customers an electronic report (with photos) after each service. I never feel like they are trying to take advantage me, as they don't push non-urgent repairs. The office staff is super friendly and helpful, and they have shuttle service and bikes to borrow. I have referred friends to Pellman's, and they have also been very happy with the service!

Great work, customer service and complete experience.Update July 2022: I have now been serviced by Pellman's team a handful of times since I first posted this review and I wanted to add some extra detail. Mark and his team in particular have been great with the issues that I've had on my Silverado. I appreciate their patience and thoroughness in diagnosing tricky problems and finding good solutions.It is hard to find a mechanic that you can trust and I can recommend Pellman's as a great team that does a great job.

I have taken my vehicles to Pellman s for years because they are trustworthy. They will tell you what is wrong with your vehicle and let you know what needs to be addressed immediately and what can wait. I occasionally take a vehicle to a dealer when all I need is an oil change because it is sometimes more convenient. Often when I do so, the dealer always says the vehicle needs more work. When I then take the vehicle to Pellman s to address the issues the dealer raised they are found to be unnecessary. Because they treat customers fairly and honestly, they are my go to car repair shop.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Air conditioning, Oil change
