If I could give them 0 stars, I would. We had the worst experience ever there. We had our shocks replaced and Dennis didn't tighten the wheels when he put the tires back on and a tire came off while my husband and son were driving and it could have caused a deadly accident. They asked us to tow it to their location at their expense then refused to do anything to fix it despite it being determined it was their fault. They charged us for the repair and would not release the keys to us until we paid for the tow truck that they made us order. We have AAA and could have used that for free. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

We tried to give this smaller shop a chance and it ended up costing us double. So therefore, I think people need to read this We had a broken thermostat on our engine. They replaced the thermostat but failed to replace the thermostat s broken hoses, gasket, etc. One week after we spend $300+ at this place, the car broke down again. Now we re told everything needs to be redone/replaced and it s going to cost us $500 after we just paid Nick s for the same issue. Do I think Nick s purposely tried to scam us or purposely ignored the other broken parts they should have been fixed? No. But do I think this place is incompetent and unskilled because they missed such a crucial repair issue that they should have noticed? Yes. I do. They did incomplete work. I wish we had that money back and I wish we didn t have to redo this repair somewhere else.

Avoid Nicks auto repair like the plague. You d think any reputable mechanic shop would know to be sure to screw in a oil drain plug properly. They didn t and less than 100 miles after the oil change the plug came out along with all the oil blowing my engine. It took over 3 months of fighting with his trash insurance company with little to no help from Nicks to get the engine replaced. These guys couldn t refund me for the oil change after all this hassle. They re crooks in every which way.

I felt like we got scammed by this place. Took it in and they needed to fix the spark plugs and one other thing fixed. They called and said they could fix those for $600. We said okay and they needed payment then and there which I thought was strange and my first red flag. A few hours go by and they call back and they said "Oh your computer is fried we just found out and we can't fix that." So we're out $600 just for them to fix things that didn't matter in the first place. They knew damn well the computer was fried prior. Shady place of business, stay far away.

I've been waiting to get my hub bearing changed for a couple months now. Called around to several places, and local Mobil mechanics. I couldnt afford the $1,000 quotes i had been getting and i was just waiting for the right place to come along. One day i drove by Nicks gave them a call and it was almost half of what other shops charged, the best rate I've ever come across. I was extremely hesitant by the price and some of the very few negative reviews I read. But I decided to take a gamble. Nick at the front desk was always polite and patient. Dennis was quick to get back with me with a quote, and was also able to get me in right away once the part came in. Ruben finished the job in a very quick manner and, to top it off, the final price was cheaper than the quote! I'm very pleased I pull the trigger on these guys. And I will be going through them for now on with any matinance I have!

I took my 20 year truck to Nick's after experiencing an electrical issue. They quoted me $70-$140 for the diagnostic plus any labor and parts needed for repairs. It turned out to be a very minor problem which they easily fixed. My total charge was $72. It's so refreshing to find an auto shop that doesn't jerk you around and jack up your bill. Highly recommend. Thanks guys!Service: Auto maintenance

Quality business and trustworthy folks running it. Nick's did 1.2k of repairs (brakes, ball joint, axel) on my '05 Outback in Sept '22, included a warranty and, when I brought it back this month with similar symptoms, they made good on the warranty and rendered services free-of-charge. Business of their word.Services: General repairs & maintenance, BrakesServices: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

Jen has decided not to help me after I have crashed my vehicle I tried to make an appointment to get my vehicle towed to interlock so they can remove the interlock from my crashed vehicle and she told me unfortunately she couldn't help me and that I would have to go down to the corporate office on Federal heights. She told me to call them and or chat with them which I have on multiple occasions but no one ever calls me back or response to my emailsAs soon as I told Jen I was recording this conversation she decided to hang up!As a person who's been incapacitated and just got out of a car wreck Jen has made it extremely difficult to remove my interlock device from my vehicle

Nick s is the definition of a local shop with people who care. Nick (? Haven t caught his name but we ll assume that s who the older gentleman is) is one of the most helpful and generous guys I ve ever met. I have taken my older vehicle here numerous times for a ton of different problems and they always do fast and quality work for a fair price. But it doesn t end there.I was moving out of my apartment today and needed dollies to facilitate that move. I drove all over town and literally every single rental was taken for the day, I was hosed. I came to Nick and he rolled out two of his personal dollies and gave them to me, free of charge. He simply asked for my phone # and told me exactly where to return them. That act of kindness is something I m not used to these days - for that reason I recommend Nick s shop for all services and as long as I m in Colorado my business goes to him. I don t think he even understands the weight he took off of my shoulders that morning.

I have been to taking my family s vehicles to Nicks Auto Repair now for 20 years. Over this period of time I have never been disappointed in the service that I have received. In fact, my experience with Nicks has always been excellent. Dennis and his friendly staff will give you the confidence you are looking for that your vehicle is being serviced professionally and at a fair price. Better yet, I have always been given honest, helpful advice about my vehicles. It s so nice to have an auto mechanic you can trust!

Dennis and his team are very professional and won't let you down unless your car is about to die, in which case they won't try to charge you thousands of $$ to fix it, they will just let you know that it would be wise to start considering buying a new one... My go-to place anytime I have a problem with a car!

My car battery died in the last cold snap and I needed it fixed quickly. I called Nick's when they opened at 8am on President's Day holiday and they got me in and had it replaced in no time!

The shop diagnosed my cracked radiator on my Saab 9-2X and replaced it all in less than a day! Everyone I talked to was super friendly and they didn't try to up-sell me on anything. The price was fair and on par with other independent shops but a whole lot cheaper than the dealer. I have no complaints on my experience and I'm definitely coming backService: Engine repair

The familiar and professional experience one enjoys at Nick s Auto Repair, a long-standing pillar of the Boulder community for generations, reminds me of the potential within us all to be good to one another. Each time I visit Nick's, I am met with courtesy, patience and respect. I say that because whenever I interact with anyone on their team, I m treated like my priorities are theirs. And believe you me, my automotive needs have required me to have several of those interactions over this past year. They are accommodating to my schedule, always prepared for me, ready with what I need and prompt to deliver. And then, without fail, they go the extra mile for me, and make certain my car can do the same!Other than the superlative mechanical work they perform on my car, what demonstrates their ethos best, is that they have found ways to save me money on every visit.Whether for mechanical problems or Lifesafer calibration, the staff has helped me articulate a questions I have little expertise in asking, and they fuss and follow through on each detail which, when it comes to the welfare of my only mode of transportation, makes up a huge difference.A difference worthy of this customer's loyalty.Services: Electrical, Battery

I have lived in Boulder for three years now, for two of those three years I've had my car exclusively serviced or repaired at Nick's Auto, Dennis, Rayleigh, Noel, and the whole team at Nick's are top notch. I've had three major repairs done there, an ECT Sensor Replacement, A Clutch Replacement and they are currently doing a fuel pump replacement on my car. Not only have they always been fair with pricing, charging me almost $200 less then the avg. for my latest repair. They let my car sit at their shop for over a month, and didn't charge me a storage fee. They all are upfront and honest, I would ignore all the 1 Star reviews and would say that those reviewers neglected to fix something that was recommended and as a result had the issues they did, I've had three major repairs done there and I've had to date 0 issues, with one exception of a sensor failing due to a short (that was due to a fluke bad part) all that being said I give them 5-Stars because they are the most reasonable shop in the City of Boulder.

I've been taking my car to Nick's for 2 years now and they've always been efficient, helpful and honest. I originally came here to get a second opinion after catching another auto shop trying to sell me repairs I didn't need. They've always been very helpful with what actually needed to be repaired, what could wait and what wasn't actually a problem. Plus they've always been very nice and professional. This is now my regular auto shop.

I returned a U-Haul at this location. The U-Haul was attached to an auto transport. I was rudely instructed to leave both, connected, in the lot. They claim the truck was returned on time, but I was charged because the auto transport was "late". The auto transport was connected directly to the truck. Further, my vehicle can't tow. I couldn't even bring the auto transport separately if I wanted. Nick's auto is still trying to dispute the charge. If you want to wait around 10 minutes looking for an employee, this is the place to go. If you want employees to treat you poorly and not even give eye contact, then I can't recommend this place enough. I think this is one of the best places in the world to visit if you like dealing with credit card companies and charge backs.

Nick's is great. We've done our oil changes on our Mazda CX-9 there for a while, and just had brakes and rotors replaced - same day! They're pros, really efficient, and nice folks. Give them a shot if you haven't already!

Love them!! I live in Denver, but always take my cars to Nick's because of the service they provide. I have been going to this shop since 2002 and will not hesitate to continue to bring my vehicles here. Not only do they proved great service for all of my mechanical needs, but they also check out cars that I am thinking of buying to make sure that I'm not getting a lemon. There are not many shops that would provide that level of personal service and that is one of the reasons I continue to use Nick's.Thanks Nick's! Keep up the good work!

I have been taking my classic Ford Maverick Grabber to Nick's Auto Repairfor 23 years, and I have always been very satisfied with their work. Theyhave always done a great job! A few years ago, I was having to replace mybattery frequently. Dennis diagnosed a slow leak in the battery, a leak thatcontinued even when the car was not in use. Dennis came up with a verycreative solution that was very inexpensive and which has continued to workfor several years. Both Nick, and now Dennis, have always tried to do aneconomical fix when working on my car. I would never take my car elsewhere, and I would highly recommend Nick's Auto Repair to others (which I have donein the past).

I ve had my water pump, radiator, and all four brakes and rotors replaced on my 2004 Jeep at Nick s. Everytime they have been honest, quick, and professional with the repairs. I used to live in Boulder and now live in Denver but if anything goes wrong with my car I still come here because I trust them. Highly recommend Nick s.

I am very happy with the service that the staff at Nick's Auto provides. Before my old Subaru was totalled in an accident, I took it there regularly. They recently checked my new Subaru. I trust them because they do quality work.

I've been having my cars and an older Toyota Tundra truck taken care of by Nick's Auto repair shop for nearly 23 years from father Nick and now Dennis, the son. They have been very honest, professionally competent and pleasant to work with. Jennifer, Dennis' daughter has always been very personable and thorough. I highly recommend them.

Please, do not take your car here.I got a new clutch at Nicks a year ago. MANY mistakes were made during this "repair" causing me to spend significant money for someone else to fix Nick's problems (since they had lost ALL my trust). Nick's was responsible for not attaching a fuel line properly after they had to order a new one due to breaking it during the clutch "repair." The fuel line popped off while driving 60 mph on the highway and being stranded in the middle lane during rush hour. The speed sensor and gas gauge broke because Nick's failed to attach the electrical harness after the "repair." Nick's failed to put the cotter pins back at the front ball joints during the "repair" I had to replace both ball joints only a week later due to these missing parts and accelerated wear and tear it caused.I communicated all this to Nick's at the time and was able to get some of my money back from the clutch "repair." With that said I write this a year later because I just took my car in for a routine check-up and was told that I needed a new clutch. That my current clutch which was put in by Nick's ONE year ago was already worn down to the point of needing to be replaced. The repair shop that informed me of this said it could either be the way I drive the car or the clutch itself and it not being a high quality part. I'm not saying that I am a perfect driver, but I have driven a manual for 17 years. And in those 17 years I have had to replace the clutch three times only. It took me a long time to get over the emotional stress that was caused by Nick's "repair" last year and I am still paying for the financial stress that Nick's caused. Today I am extremely disappointed that such an awful job continues to cause problems for me a year later. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I would give them zero stars if that was an option.
