Best mechanic I've found! We've been to Mountain Auto several times, and Will always tells us what's necessary to fix now and what can wait. He's honest and focuses on making sure the customer is happy. I'm always surprised by how little he charges for such great work. We recommend this shop to all our friends and we will be going here as long as we live in Boulder.

I got a quote from a shop telling me I needed major repairs- exploiting me for money. I took my car to Mountain Auto Repairs, they spent 2 hours doing a full inspection and reassured me visually and technically that there was quite literally nothing wrong with my car. Extremely honest and transparent shop, saved me a lot of money!!!

Will, I wanted to say thank you for the work you did yesterday on my car. Having our car in safe and working order is super important to our family and our kids ability to get to school. You are the best mechanic I know because you always figure out what is wrong and find the best solution. You are fair, efficient, give excellent advice, and you are very generous. Will always takes the time to explain the issue and solutions. As a young female that doesn t know a lot about cars, I know he is going to be honest and not try to take advantage like other auto shops would. I ve learned so much about my car by taking it to him and have a better understanding of how to know the car is running properly. My whole family takes our cars to him and would never go to anyone else!

Assessed my car correctly same day and for free, when 3 others couldn't. Honestly, the best car shop in town by far (I've been to most). They know their stuff, are great with scheduling and the best at all communication, and are humble and help me when I am overwhelmed. Honestly I didn't know car shops can be this good. They don't spend their money on lobby looks and if you don't mind seeing a puppy, then you've found a gem.

Some of the best in town! They were able to fit me into their schedule the following day and promptly fixed my vehicle. Communicating with them was effortless and the prices were incredible considering the amount of work they completed. I expected to pay twice the amount they charged me! Overall I'm super glad I made the decision to come here and will likely pay them a visit in the future.

I wont take my car anywhere else. Will does great work, he's honest and cost is reasonable. He's never tried to upsell just to make more money. I've had the pleasure of working with Mountain Auto a few times over the last couple of years. They are always friendly, professional, and fair. The mechanic, Will, does a great job of explaining the problem and laying out various solutions. Each time I've been extremely pleased with the end result and the value. I had the greatest experience here than I ever have with any mechanic before. Will was incredible, he knew what he was talking about and was completely honest with me. As a woman, I have a very hard time trusting mechanics, which is part of why this was the greatest experience ive ever had with an auto shop. A friend recommended Mountain Auto Repair to me and she s been going there for at least two years. She s very happy with their service. I recently took my car in for a mysterious engine noise and have been very happy with how they re looking into it. They explained their recommended course of action in detail and kept my budget in mind. I recommend them, too!

Mountain Auto got me in fast and finished with regular service just as quickly. Price was good for an oil change and the staff was knowledgeable about the entire family of vehicles. This is my new mechanic in Boulder.

I asked about bus routes back to my house and was given keys to a loaner instead. Couldn't be happier with the service and professionalism. I was having some power steering trouble with my old Camry and took it in to get it looked at. The guys at Mountain Auto Repair were knowledgeable, helpful, and didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need. In fact, they went ahead and priced out all the repairs that the car "needed", then went through them with me explaining what each one was and whether or not they thought it was actually important given the age of the car, the cost of the repair, how much I drive, etc. I actually learned some things about my car in the process!I decided what I wanted repaired, namely the power steering and brakes, and they got it done for just under the estimated price! I've had no problems since and would definitely recommend their services.

I don t even live in this area. I came in with some concerns, knowing I was going to need a clutch soon but not sure how soon. One of the guys had a minute, he went for a drive and had a listen, and told me I could get away with putting it off until the end of the trip I was on (he was right). They easily could have said it needed to be done now. They also gave me good information about the work and some ballpark figures on the spot so I could make my decision. I really got the impression these guys are all about being frank, forthcoming, and doing good work. If I lived in Boulder, this is where I d take my car to get worked on.

Would give them 6 stars if possible. They are honest straight shooters always willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Will is one of the best mechanics in Boulder. I highly recommend this business!

Honest to a fault - they declined to fix a problem with the sheet metal being bent in the headlight area, rather than go in and mess it up more. You define yourself by what you don't take on as much as what you do. I've used these guys for several years, and every experience has been satisfactory. They even lent me a car when I needed one!

I have been dealing with Mountain Auto for a few years now, at first with a pickup and a trailer that was used for work and then my personal cars as well. Throughout the whole time our fire department has also used them for various issues that even the manufacturers of the engines were unable to diagnose or repair reasonably. They stand behind their work, and while I do know a few things about cars but am certainly limited, they never have an attitude that lets you think you are too stupid to put a wrench in your hand.If you believe in supporting local businesses, this is as local as it gets.

These folks are fantastic. I had a bad experience with another shop, and never went back. It was pure dumb luck that I went with this shop, and I'm never looking back. They take *great* care of my Prius, and I never feel like I'm getting messed with on price or anything.

These guys have been taking care of our family cars for 4 years. They are friendly, honest, reasonably priced, and dependable. We use them for all automobile services including maintenance, tires, and repairs.

These guys ripped me off and would not take responsibility for it. my older turck is only meant to engage 4x4 on slippery or off road condition. They said they fixed my 4wd and on a friday evening they had the car up on a lift and showed me the front wheels turning, so when i got to a trail to test it and I drove off it did not work right, it lunged and pitched back and forth. They just replaced a shift fork but that was not the main problem. They would not refund or repair it further. Basically they took my money without fixing the problem. They did not diagnose it or test it properly. They charged a lot of labor and the invoice did not list the labor cost specifically. Furthermore they never inspected the vacuum hoses that control the 4x4 which were all rotten. Lousy work. Turns out I need a new differential

These guys really know what they are doing. Took my truck to a couple places to be fixed and no body knew what was wrong. Finally dropped it off at mountain auto and they found the problem and fixed it with in a couple hours. Best car mechanics in Boulder for sure!

Our daughter has a 2004 Subaru outback that had a difficult to diagnose transmission problem. Mountain took their time to find out what the real problem was. So far so good.

They worked on an AC problem that ended up being electrical. Hard to find but they stuck with it until it was fixed and charged me incredibly fair rates for they amount of time they had to have spent on it. Highly recommend this shop.
