Very satisfied with the work Austin and his team did on my truck. It was a good sized job involving front and back diff re-gears, fitting 37" tires, carli long arm suspension and adjustable track bar, upgraded steering box... and more. Austin updated me throughout the whole time my truck was being worked on, sent lots of pictures to make sure I understood what modifications were necessary to make everything have proper fit and function. Johns 4x4 will get your rig exactly how you want it at a very fair price. Great guys to work with!

I just wanted to take the time and share my appreciation to John s 4x4 in Boulder, Colorado. My primary contact, Kevin not only kept me updated on every step of the process, but when they ran into an issue with the lift kit that was installed on my truck when I bought it, they could have just put on the new parts and gave it back to me knowing that the issue would return if it wasn t corrected properly. Instead, they researched the lift that was on my truck and called that 3rd party to tell them how it was wrong and that company confirmed they knew about the issue and sent the correct parts. If they take this kind of care and attention to detail on a 3rd party lift they don t even sell, what kind of support do you think they would give to those lifts they DO sell!Thank you Kevin and crew! I wish I would have got the lift from you guys, but I will have all my services done with you guys now!Richard Fernandez

John s 4x4 did a great job on my Subaru Forester lift. We ran into an issue with the manufacturer sending the wrong parts. Kevin was my advisor and he pressed them to resolve within 24 hours. The build looks great, and I would highly recommend John s 4x4. The pic shows a stock Forester next to mine!

Respectfully, I don t think diagnostic costs should be so hefty especially when I come in with multiple problems. Came in with a drivers side window not from up or down and not only did the motor cost 600 but an additional 180 was charged for diagnostics. I could see this if it were the only thing I came in for but I they also did a u-joint repair, and an oil change. Of course I paid another 180 for the u joint diagnostic. That one makes sense but really it s not the work here that makes me not want to come back but the cost. Otherwise guys know what they re doing, they did a great job.Reply to refund: I have received the refund! Much appreciated glad you guys care to make it right. Sorry we couldn t get this worked out in person when picking the truck up.

These guys always do amazing work! Had some general work done (oil change and filter, transmission fluid, spark plugs, tires rotated, air filter cleaned, retorque) as close to feeling like I m driving a new car (98 jeep wrangler) as you can get with a 25+ year old car. Docked a star because I did not get a call when the work was done but all and all very happy with the service.

What a great experience! Had my 2015 JKU aligned after installing a new lift myself. John's 4x4 got me in quickly during the holidays and checked the torque on the entire install then did a great 8 pt alignment. I took the Jeep home and all was good but I had a bit of concern with the feel of the steering. Called John's and NO PROBLEM, got me in that morning and checked everything again. Added a bit more caster, road tested, and Viola! Perfect. Any other shop might have told me that it was the nature of the beast of lifted Jeeps or that it was my problem because I installed the lift myself. But NOT John's. They were all about making sure I was happy. Very professional shop, great atmosphere, fantastic attitude. Highly recommend for service on your 4x4. Thanks for unexpectedly great service guys.

This shop is amazing. I ve been taking my older Jeep into a local auto shop but getting nowhere. I love my Jeep and Johns 4x4 is super easy to work with, was able to give me a full rundown of what needed urgent updates. Will never go anywhere else! Thank you!!

John's 4x4 is clearly a step above the rest. I have been to many shops with many different problems I couldn't figure out and none have worked through each of them so professionally and thoroughly. Their system for inspection, communication, estimating and billing alone is great, similar to that of a nice dealership.I worked with David and couldn't have been treated any better, not salesy, just professional and knowledgeable.I will certainly be back. You should too.

Crazy expensive shop.Friendly-ish staff but if you have a Toyota I'd stay away.I had my FJ towed here to diagnose an engine problem and after discovering it had rodent damage, they wouldn't even work on it.So I had to tow it back home. One day and some soldering later, I have it purring like a kitten..Afterward I called in to quote for a body mount chop and they offered to do it for $850. WHAT?The body mount chop is at MOST a 2 hour job and runs between $150 and $300. At a proper 4x4 shop in the BAY AREA.I won't be coming back here or supporting these guys.

Kevin was super helpful on the phone and in shop. We were trying to travel back home to IA from CO and were experiencing a suspension clunk . Were able to get me in ASAP, provide an inspection, and get me on the road in about 1 hour! All of the shop dogs were a fun bonus! Will be back!

I took my 2019 lifted 3500hd truck in for an evaluation of the steering and ride. Kevin put together the list of repairs needed. The work was done in a impressively short period of time. My truck now drives like it's new. I have also had repairs done on my daughter's jeep. There have been some comments that John's is expensive. Not sure I agree as I had my truck looked at by another shop that wanted to make excessive and apparently uneeded repairs for a whole lot more money.John's service and repair work is top notch. I am gratefull to work with a shop I can trust which is why I drive from south denver for their service.Sean Markey

a bit overprice and returned car with check engine light on!back in august I brought my jeep tj to John 4x4, David helped me out. He was nice but really not detailed enough at all. First time I called them to check on the findings, he kind of ramble about noises but not findings of how to fix them. Similary, when I asked for a written full list of findings and fixes, the written findings said the following: road test- pulls left off center, clunkin noise over bumps, lo coolant, RR shock mount-blown, track bar loose, etc. I was like what does that mean...anyway they suggested the following:Track bar for $411 - no idea which brand or thicknessremove and replace all 4 shocks with fox 2.0 for $1,437real main real and oil pan gasket for $946currectlync steering system to $1,370thermostat replacement and coolant flush for $727rebuild rear differential with factory ratio for $1,255.also i asked for same lift that i have and they said you have a 2.5 to 3 inch lift. i actually have a 4 inch lift. so not sure how they missed that bc quoted shocks were not right size.I said thank you but i will take my car somewhere else. i was charged $198 for dignosis, which is not too bad however, when i picked up my car the engine light was on. it wasnt when i dropped it off. I didnt think too much of it, thought maybe a oxygen sensor went out but thought it was funny John4x4 didnt catch that and suggested fix.i took my car to the dealer. they told me what i really needed was:rear main seal and oil pan gasket - $300 in parts plus 3hr laborthermostat and gasket replacement - $30 in parts plus 1hr laborcoolant flush - $80 in supplies - 2hr laborrear shocks (blistein) - $220 parts plus 2hr laborfront track bar (steinjager) - $200 part pus 1hr labordealership also told me check engine light is on because my ECM/TCM module was bad and those are really hard to find, so couldnt recommend replacement.now you be the judge of what happened. I really didnt want to leave a review but I really have a bad after feeling after going to johns 4x4. specially because how could they have missed it.

I took my Subaru Forester Sport into John s 4x4 for their 2 lift. They were extremely communicative with me throughout the entire process giving recommendations, answering questions, and updates. The work was done extremely fast, and I couldn t be happier with the results. Not only does it look awesome but the car still drives and feels smooth on the road. Couldn t recommend John s 4x4 enough.

Did a great job fixing my 4x4 linkage, their diagnosing and inspection process is really cool how they send you a whole page with pictures and descriptions of everything they found. Definitely coming back!

Ya ll might want to move David into a non-customer service role. I don t know if he woke up on the wrong side of the bed but that was one of the worst business interactions I ve ever had. He clearly had no idea what he was talking about and would rather attempt to lecture on ignorance than discuss solutions.Response: lol, y all still don t get it but nice try reframing the story as the good guys. I m putting a base model Kimbo in the back of my Tacoma, feel free to go to their website and see the weight. Maybe you ll notice their display is on a Tacoma, it s almost as if it was built for it. It s well below the payload, yes, with me and my dog. Maybe use a calculator next time. Don t worry, I wasn t upset, I called Fine Tune Auto and got the right part installed the next day.

I came to John s 4x4 to get a lift and now they are the only auto shop in Colorado who I will let touch my car. They keep you updated and are super transparent about their pricing and what you ACTUALLY need done.

These guys are the real deal. If you've got a 4 wheel drive vehicle of ANY kind this shop can diagnose, source even custom parts quickly, and repair it right the first time. No BS, no confusion, no answering services. You will speak to the most knowledgeable individual on your first call. I won't let anyone else in Colorado touch my truck after finding these guys.

John s 4x4 does awesome work! Everyone I talked to was super helpful, and I definitely recommend them. They quickly diagnosed an issue that the Toyota dealership had failed to figure out after taking it in to that dealership multiple times for the same thing. john s 4x4 did a great job on the necessary repairs as well as new suspension.

I brought my Jeep in to have the 4x4 looked at and have my transfer case oil changed. The drain plug on my transfer case was stripped but they were able to replace it and change the oil. They did an overall diagnostic and gave me recommendations to keep my Jeep in top shape. They noticed a coolant leak and even though I declined to replace it at the time, when I went to top off my coolant and they had already filled it and my wiper fluid. I really loved the customer communication page where I could see the break down of everything and the pictures they took for the recommendations. They took the time to make sure I understood their concerns and the priority of each. I ve had terrible experiences at many shops, so I have learned to do most repairs myself. After researching reviews, I decided to give these guys a shot and they exceeded my expectations. If I can t do it myself, this will be the only shop I ll trust with my Jeep moving forward. Thank you guys again!Service: Auto maintenance

Very thorough and extensive repair shop. I brought in my commander with a CV axle that I was unable to remove. They did an entire vehicle inspection and provided me all recommended repair notices. Although prices were a bit steeper than the normal shops I go to they did a fantastic job, fixed my vehicle and were very communicative and helped explain some issues I was unfamiliar with. They were quick to get my car in for a repair on short notice and quick to turn around vehicle back to me despite the extremely challenging to remove part. Overall I plan to bring my jeep back for future repairs but will probably go to other shops for smaller jobs as they do have a higher labor rate, but considering their expertise in lifted vehicles, especially jeeps it is expected and worth it.Service: Transmission repair
