We have used Boulder Valley Automotive for work on my daughter's car. She is a student at CU, and needed a local mechanic for some major work and routine service. They have been amazing to work with. Great customer service, honest and reliable. I highly recommend them, and we will continue to take her car there while she is in school.

Brought in my Golf for a brake replacement. Claimed both brakes needed replacement and quoted me $1300. Brought to Repair Masters down the road and it turned out the front brakes were fine and only charged $450 for the rears. Would avoid this place if you're looking to save money.

Been here twice with our old CTS. These folks are honest and find ways to make repairs cheaper, MUCH cheaper, than the dealership. They treat you really well. They do what they say will do, and often charge less than expected. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Boulder Valley Automotive has kept my Toyota 4Runner operating smoothly for well over 200,000 miles. They are really friendly and transparent about all the maintenance my vehicle has needed over the years. I recommend them to everyone.

My vehicle has had a long list of problems this year and after getting wildly overcharged by a different mechanic up the street, came over to BVA. I've chosen these guys for my last three repairs because they're honest about their work, honest about saving you a buck where they can, and my car is running better than ever after taking it here.Really grateful to these awesome guys. While a lot of businesses in Boulder will gleefully overcharge you with a smile on their face, these guys do quality work for a fair price, oh, and they're friendly as can be!Thanks BVA!

Is it possible to love an auto repair shop? YES! I had my oil changed in the state that I previously lived in. That shop suggested a number of items to fix but I didn't have time to take care of them before I shipped my car. After settling down in Boulder, I took it to the guys at Boulder Valley Automotive and mentioned the repairs I needed. After assessing my car, they told me the repairs were completely unnecessary. I am blown away by how honest and transparent they are, and how they only charge for work that is truly necessary. They deliver great service and truly care about their customers. Thank you for being an awesome shop!!

Showed up thursday evening and I had given no notice that I'd be coming in. I came in to show them my brakes that needed to be urgently replaced. They saw how important it was that I get them replaced asap for my own safety so they squeezed in time to help me quickly with my extremely short notice. They ordered the parts immediately and I left my car there on the spot at that time thursday evening and by mid day friday everything was already finished. I had them change all 4 rotors and all 4 brake pads and I even had an unusual request, I wanted them to paint my rusty brake calipers to make them look new again. They did that for me as well. They charged me less than they quoted me as well. Lifetime warranty on the brake pads too. Also the two guys I talked to both were very friendly with a good sense of humor. Just an amazing experience compared to what I delt with very recently with a different shop. If I need service again I will be back.

This is the most honest, straightforward and fair shop I ve ever taken my car to. Darren is so incredibly nice and helpful, and he saved me a ton of money. I d already taken my Kia SUV to Boulder Valley Automotive for other small repairs because they re great and their prices are really fair. This time I paid extra to have it towed to them because the engine failed while I was driving. Darren thought it seemed like a specific warranty issue Kia has acknowledged, and that there was a good chance Kia might cover the repair. He talked to the dealership and they agreed it sounded like that issue. I had the SUV towed to Kia.Kia told me I needed a bunch of different repairs, not that it was the warranty issue. I freaked out and talked to BVA again. Darren told me the repairs they were suggesting made no sense and called them again. It turned out the Kia dealership shop hadn t listened at all to what BVA told them. When Kia looked for what Darren had told them to, they found it WAS the warranty issue. Kia is replacing the engine at no cost to me. From this I learned that dealership will happily try to sell people work their cars don t need.I really appreciate BVA s honesty and helpfulness. They aren t condescending to me because I m a woman, and I think they genuinely care about helping people.

I was delighted that BVA was able to squeeze me in for a next-day oil change. Throughout the process, I was treated very respectfully and felt that my car was in good hands. The pricing was more than fair, and I will definitely be taking my car here in the future for maintenance!Services: Tire rotations, Oil changeServices: Tire rotations, Oil change

I am just passing through town and called to see if I could get an appointment at Boulder Valley Automotive. They couldn't get me in, but had a genuine concern for my issue. They took the time to give me a possible solution to the problem, and also gave me recommendations for other automotive repair nearby. That's Excellent customer care in my book!

Came here with a bent tie rod on a 2013 Nissan Leaf.Darren fixed our car for $400 when the Nissan dealership quoted $3,800. We were able to avoid an insurance claim and get our car back a lot faster, too. Can't say enough good stuff about the communication and fair treatment we experienced.

I brought my PT Cruiser to them for years, and they helped keep it on the road by suggesting maintenance and repairs that actually made sense. A couple times another shop that I'd been to had told me something absolutely needed replacement, but then I called Mike, and he'd tell me it wasn't worth it in a car that old (and was absolutely right about it). Their pricing for anything that did need to get done was reasonable, and I never felt like I was being ripped off.I haven't been here for a couple years (ever since got rid of the PT Cruiser), but when my current car's maintenance agreement with the dealership comes to an end, I absolutely plan on giving Boulder Valley Automotive a call again.

Mike and Curtis are 2 men that have worked on our car. They got us in and out so quickly. Their prices are extremely fair. I drive a 2003 Ford Explorer and it is in tip top shape after these guys worked on it and fixed it so well. They fixes my alternator and my starter!I wouldn't take my car anywhere else! Its a great shop! I could go on forever with praise for the mechanics that work there. I wish I knew all the guys names. I just want to thank them so much! I would bring them some cookies if it weren't for the crazy corona!

Very pleased with the honesty of this place. I had taken my car to another place for an oil change. They did a checkup and said I needed to replace the lower control arms and the rear brake pads, which they could do that same day for over $1000. I said no and later took the car to Boulder Valley Automotive to see if this work was really necessary. The very friendly Boulder Valley person called at the promised time and said they had checked it out and driven it and no, there was no need to replace anything, and they didn't charge anything for determining that. I really appreciate their honesty and not taking advantage of me when I wasn't sure if there was a problem. I will certainly take my car to them when I need repairs in the future!

BVM is one of the most honest, fair, and knowledgeable shops I've ever taken my Tacoma to. I come, like many others, with large amounts of PTSD from shops & dealerships that have overcharged, overlooked issues, ignored my calls, and sugar coated smaller issues to insight fear and stress. This makes it hard for me to trust mechanics. Not to mention that gut wrenching feeling every time our engine lights pop on just in general.NOT WITH BVM! Daren, up front, (apologies if I'm butchering his name here) went ABOVE AND BEYOND working with me to diagnose some of the major issues with my vehicle, helped me navigate the realm of a warranty claim with Toyota, and brought only integrity and kindness to every question I asked. I never felt like I was being forced or "sold" into anything. My best interest was put FIRST and that is RARE.Boulder Valley Automotive has my business for life and I know they'll help me keep my Taco healthy & running like a dream with only the upmost honesty, integrity, and professionalism. Oh and the price is right. 5/5*HELPFUL TIP* Would recommend calling ahead of time (maybe a couple weeks) if you are due for a repair or having issues. Because they absolutely rock, they are also incredibly busy.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection

What a hidden gem in Boulder! Twice I have used this place to fix my cars and these guys are over the top amazing! This time, Darren and Chuck helped me more than I could ever thank them for! It's such a relief to find a local, trusted business these days. I will always use them and definitely recommend them to everyone I can. Thank you so much for your amazing help and customer service today! Hopefully I don't have to come back, but if I need car help, this is my place!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I am a young single woman that does not have a lot of knowledge about cars. The mechanics were very patient with me and fit me in last min when I was trying to buy a car from a dealership and had Boulder Valley check the cars out. They never made me feel stupid or tried to take advantage of me because I was a female. They go above and beyond making sure their clients have rides when their stuck without a vehicle. Mike at the front desk was incredible!! He was so patient, kind and helpful to me and my many many questions and concerns! I am not taking my car anywhere else and will tell everyone I know about how wonderful this company is! Plus their prices are very reasonable! Thanks for doing the car industry some well justice they deserve with customer service and all around great business

Our go to mechanic for years. Great service, reasonable prices with good estimates, reliable results. On the one occasion a repair didn't come out perfectly, Curtis stood by his work and got it taken care of.

I took my truck to BVA to have trans, transfer case, and diff fluids checked. They could have said all needed to be replaced. Instead, they told me things looked good so save my money, charging me only for the inspection. Later in the day, they emailed me the inspection report. This was my first visit, and I found BVA fast, courteous, and professional. I will continue to patronize them. Strongly recommended.

Wow, customer service here is A+. Had a few issues to address on my vehicle, when I got a call about their assessment I already had several e-mails with detailed photos and estimates to help me make an informed decision! Everyone I spoke to was very helpful and knowledgeable. Will be back, and wish I had just come here in the first place! Thanks to Mike and the crew!

BVA is great. At this point I've used them for a few years with significant work (not just oil changes, etc) and always had a great experience. Curtis is the person I've interacted with the most, and he's very clear, kind, and honest about what work needs to be done, what work is non-essential, why it should be done, and the price for the work. No surprises, and never felt any pressure or negativity in the slightest. On more than one occasion I've had him tell me that something is just cosmetic, or could wait a while before repair, etc-- to me signs of a good, honest mechanic not just out for your hard earned cash. Also, took my car into another more specialized mechanic in town and got a quote for various work. Took the car into BVA for a second opinion and got a quote for the same work at about 80% the price of spot #1.Sticking with them. Thanks BVA!Edit: Had my clutch fail in a small town in southern CO and couldn't tell if the local mechanic was being honest or not, so I sent an email to Curtis about it with my invoice. Past closing time, he talked to me in detail for about 25 minutes, going over the invoice piece by piece and telling me what he thought and how much it all should cost. He explained everything simply and thoroughly, offered to talk to the other mechanic, and asked to keep in touch with any developments. Made me feel completely at ease and that he was happy to help. It was really really awesome to have someone on my side and who I can trust. Curtis is the bomb and all of my previous opinions have been reinforced incredibly. Awesome.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

So, I finished my school at CU in 2020 and moved to California in July while I had left my old Toyota Land Cruiser in Boulder along with some stuff that needed to be towed to CA. I primarily used the the Land Cruiser for off-roading and, I ended up removing my hitch from the back of the car in the middle of the desert in Moab in 2019 when I went there for an off-roading adventure. While unbolting my hitch, I broke an old rusty bolt and totally forgot about the fact that a piece of it is still in my car frame. Yesterday, I came back to Boulder to pick up the old Land Cruiser and tow my stuff to CA. I went to put the hitch back that I realized I cannot bolt the hitch fully and safely as that broken bolt was still in the frame. The next morning, around 7am I went to Boulder Valley Automotive and told the manager, Curtis, that I needed their help to have that half broken bolt removed from my car so that I can install my hitch to tow my stuff to CA before the weather hits me in I-70 (near Christmas) that day. He was the nicest guy ever. He fit my car in their tight schedule and had the bolt removed from the car. They welded a new nut to the old broken rusty bolt and torque-removed it without damaging anything. Above all, they didn t charge me anything either. The fact that they didn t charge me was super nice but I am writing this so that everyone knows that these people care about you as a community customer. They are great, understanding and they deserve your business. You should give them call if you have car problems. Btw, nobody else in Boulder opens at 7am.

These are honest and knowledgeable guys. To replace a blend door actuator of my car, most auto shops asked $900 to $1100, BVA only charged me $650 with their professional technique and quality service, I was satisfied. I continue to have my Toyota Highlander serviced at BVA, as I think they do a much better job than Larry H. Miller Toyota Boulder.

I took my car in to BVA originally maybe 10 years ago because it was a NAPA Auto Care Center, and I didn't have a mechanic in town yet. They were finally able to get that car fixed (my cars don't like to replicate problems with other people). Took it to them for years, and they've been working on my current car now for over 5 years. They've always been honest with me about what was absolutely necessary and what could wait, had the best prices, and fixed everything quickly. They're really good about pinning down weird issues that come up (my car had pine needles in the heater coil and those were burning...found it and fixed it up!).I wholeheartedly recommend these guys.
