I recently had an unfortunate encounter with Brenda, a courtesy clerk at the local grocery store, which left me feeling quite disappointed. From the moment I approached her for assistance, her demeanor was anything but helpful. Brenda seemed disinterested in my questions, responding with curt and brusque remarks that made me feel as though I was bothering her rather than seeking her professional support in a customer service role.Her attitude was off-putting, to say the least, and it significantly diminished the quality of my shopping experience. In customer-facing positions, one would expect a certain level of politeness and readiness to assist, but Brenda's behavior was far from this standard. It was not just her words but also her tone and body language that conveyed a sense of rudeness and impatience.I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but as a representative of the grocery store, I hoped for a more professional and courteous interaction. This experience has left me with a negative impression of the store's commitment to customer service, making me reconsider my choice to shop there in the future.It's disheartening when a single negative interaction can impact one's view of an entire establishment, but customer service is crucial in retail environments. I hope that this feedback can be taken constructively, leading to improved customer service training for the staff to ensure that all customers receive the welcoming and helpful service they deserve.

Nice market right in the middle of town. Isle ways are a little tight but staff was very helpful. Great selections and a perfect deli. A must stop if you re in town for a while and need groceries.

Pitkin county court ruled that I was unlawfully arrested for engaging in protected speech and that I had committed no crime. The incident occurred on the sidewalk near City Market. City Market destroyed the surveillance tape that showed their manager's active complicity in the violent and illegal conduct of City of Aspen Officials. The court ruled in my favor.

What a joke! Don t count on going there at the last minute. The posted hours say the store is open until 9PM. A while ago they started locking the doors at 8:50 now it s 8:40.

The store is small and a bit pricey but I can get most of what I need here. The people are really friendly.

Never written a 1 star review before but this person needs to be checked. It is Christmas Eve today. I opened the package on a $63 (that s the SALE price) rib roast which was to be my family s Christmas dinner. It was badly spoiled. The date is for tomorrow. Nobody wants to go to the grocery store on Christmas Eve. Again. But I rushed into town thinking that without question the grocery store I bought it at and have shopped at since I was a kid (actual local) wouldn t hesitate to make it right. Elena in customer service barks out for a nice guy, Mauricio, to come up front. I show him pictures, he confirms the expiration date is for tomorrow, he says to bring it in. I bring it in. At this point Elena is demanding the receipt. No, I don t save every one of my grocery receipts. Don t have it. She keeps exclaiming that it s too much money to replace it without the receipt. Yeah, no kidding! That s the point. It s expensive. What is this? A Christmas roast heist? Am I trying to rip off city market for a roast? Zero care given whatsoever. She needs the receipt. So, I got to buy a new roast. It was so painfully obvious to everyone but her that this was an honest situation, and she refused to help in spite of the fact that it s Christmas, and I ve been shopping there since I was in diapers. Have a heart, lady.

City Market is a great grocery/convenience store in Aspen, CO! The location is super convenient & they seemed to have a wide array of items when I stopped in to grab a few essentials. I m thankful they are right in town and are accessible to visitors in this mountain community!

Small market, super friendly staff, not sure about prices compare to other places in Aspen but much expensive than Miami. Selection of items is OK, I couldn't get some French toast because they run out. Super convenience location only a few blocks from my resort.

We picked up a few things here for our week in Aspen and for such a small town I thought it had a good selection, fresh produce and kind service. Yes it's a busy place but there are only 2 markets in the town so.... Made sense to me

We spent 6 weeks recently in Aspen core. I visited City Market almost daily. Fabulous grocery store. Wonderful selections and courteous and knowledgeable staff and management . Be sure to obtain a discount card for incredible bargains and discounts.

Love this little grocery store. Very convenient and close to most things in down town. Good selection. Friendly staff.

Small location but solid selection. The prices are reasonable and City Market doesn't spike up the prices just because it's located in Aspen. Only complaints is that because it is small is that it's usually always crowded, although the lines move pretty fast. Store seems a little outdated too if you pay attention to the flooring and shelving.

City Market is fantastic. Very friendly staff and a wide selection of items considering. Parking lot and space is rather small, but the location is right in the center of town. Prices are very reasonable for Aspen. Bring a bag!

Food pricing was reasonable compared to other resort communities, and was not completely outrageous. (Eating out in Aspen was more expensive than it is in other resort areas.) I visited this store almost daily for 1 week, and most of the staff were extremely helpful. On one evening, I had to go to the customer service desk, where there was only 1 person working-and they were handling a money wire transfer. Finally, someone else came over to help, but helped someone who arrived after I did. After helping that person, they served me. They looked extremely tired, and didn't really seem to be happy to be at work-understandably after the big rush of Xgames. Overall, everyone was very nice, courteous, and working very hard to take care of the large amount of people in town. The fruit and produce that I purchased was also of good quality, which can be hard to find in winter.

I arrived 5 minutes before closing. The city market employee who tried to shut the door on me at that point was rude, condescending and Curt. She let me in once I pressed the fact that it was not closing time yet; but to shadow me throughout the store and harass me to leave immediately was uncalled for! City market needs to treat all customers with respect; even ones who arrive shortly before closing time. Train this woman in Aspen who was so disrespectful, please.

The customer service counter is horrible. They man it with one person, which that one person is usually busy visiting with their co-workers, chatting on the phone of just not paying attention if you're standing in line. Horrible customer service. The self check ...it woul be nice if the person "helping" would pay attention to if the scanner quits scanning, if they would occasionally wipe down the check out stations, especially when they are wet. City Market Aspen can do a better job with their customer service

Upscale from years ago. Take away hot food meals are very good. Deli great. Good seafood. Lovely flowers for purchase. Ordered ma y themed birthday cakes, always good.

Excellent deli. Fresh sushi - even in Colorado. Nice selection of fresh produce. Fresh baked bread. Overall a great grocery store in spite of it's compact size, and it is within easy walking distance of downtown Aspen.

Great staff! Everyone is so nice and kind to my family. The store is small and does get crowded, but all stores in Aspen are small because it's a small valley. I can always find what I'm looking for.

What a pathetic place for Aspen! Guess what though, you really don't have much of a choice for grocery shopping. The parking lot is incredibly small and the store is even smaller! The parking all around the store lot is pay parking and is of confusing. I can only imagine how much of a nightmare this store is in the Winter! The town honestly should have considered a better location.

It's a kroger brand store. Prices seem a bit higher than what I'm used to, but it has a nice selection. They do not use plastic bags, make sure you bring your own. The store is kind of on the smaller side and the parking lot is small. Walk if you can.

I'm from Los Angeles and always shopped at Ralph, citi market is part of the Ralph chain, best prices, fresh produce, deli pretty good and lovely helpful staff. We're so lucky to have this grocery in a small town like Aspen

Terrible customer service. Catered to rich people. No patience or willingness to help with snap or ebt customer. Typical colorado store on stolen land. I highly suggest you all steal from this place.

Staff members are always friendly and helpful, but this store is always crowded. With tight narrow isles, this makes shopping not very quick or enjoyable. Additionally, there is not much variety in products - assume that there is only one brand of each product, and only the most expensive one, too.

Arrived at 8:58. Tried to buy water. "Sorry we're closed!". Really?I hope a real chain comes into town and you just shut down.

Products are very expressive even with a value card. I could just go down valley and get a better affordable price. However, the major flaw with Aspen city market is the employees and how terrible they are trained. The problem must be the management because else who trains the employees? If the employees performance lacks due to poor training, and the manager trains the employees; therefore, the managers are not training the employees correctly. I have heard criticism that the HR's treat them poorly and unjustly. Even heard that they guilt trip their employees. Who does that? I love shopping at City market for quick pick ups, but u can't help to find myself seeing managers mistreating these employees. As a result, the employees underperform and creates aisle clogs. Don't get me wrong I do not like to acknowledge the "behind the scenes" of management, but if this is management then there is something wrong with Aspen's city market.

Oddly enough, and even if this tore is located in Aspen, it has a lot of options and is very reasonably priced. This is hence very convenient to shop there! And it had a perfect location! The only downside is that people selling stamps there are just a bit out of it!
