I'm giving four stars to be gracious in difficult times, but I have to say that I'm very disappointed in the way a situation was handled at this location. I had a reservation at 11:00 a.m. on a Saturday in July 2020, but there was no one there to fulfill it. I waited over four hours in front of the Alamo desk, made multiple phone calls to the number posted at the desk and to the nationwide Alamo number, and still had no idea when or if someone would show up to rent me a car. The national Alamo people couldn't even guarantee that the Aspen location would be open the next day. They couldn't reach any of the Aspen people and were powerless to help in any way.I witnessed many other frustrated people trying to rent cars from the other companies, but they had no vehicles available for those without a reservation. At around 3:00 p.m., I decided to give up on Alamo and try Hertz. They had one vehicle available at that time, but it was over double the price of my Alamo reservation. I took it because I really had no other choice.Four days later when I came back to the Aspen airport to return the Hertz car, I visited the Alamo desk and told them about the situation that happened to me. They said there was nothing they could do because the desk attendant got sick and had to go home. It's certainly understandable that the person had to go home, but I think it's inexcusable for Alamo to leave customers in the dark. I had no way of knowing if someone would show up soon or if they would be closed the whole day, or maybe the whole weekend. I patiently waited over four hours on that Saturday, but it was all in vain. I left my name, email and phone number with the desk clerks and they said someone would contact me about the situation, but I never heard anything from Alamo.A couple of weeks later I wrote a calm, rational letter to the manager expressing my disappointment. I didn't get a reply, but to be fair, I didn't ask for one. However, I do believe that Alamo should reach out to customers who were affected by this situation. Hopefully they've contacted others, but I've never heard anything myself. I've rented with Alamo at least 12 times prior to this and have always been satisfied. Now I'm reluctant to use them in the future because of the lack of respect for customers in this situation.

We were without a car for over a month while the Nissan dealership in Grand Junction delayed the repair of our car. Alamo got us a car and they extended the time as we needed. They were super helpful and willing to be flexible to our needs. Plus they had the best price of all the Aspen airport rental places. Plus the car they loaned us was a Nissan Rogue all wheel drive which was practically brand new and drives like a dream. Thanks for great service and such a friendly attitude!

I had a very good experience with this Alamo location. Employee Emma is an outstanding personality who was also very efficient. No pressure to take "upgrades," the correct vehicle was there and ready to go, in good condition, and there were no surprises. I would definitely rent from this location again.

Without a doubt the worst car rental experience I have ever encountered. Completely understaffed and using software that looked like it was from the 90's. I don't blame the people working there as much I blame whoever manages this location. We were scheduled to receive our car at noon - we didn't end up getting it until nearly 2:00PM. When we finally got in, the car was still dirty, had used paper towels in the cup holders, and a half tank of gas. I returned the car with almost three quarters of a tanks of gas full and was charged over $40 for not bringing it back full. I had to call Alamo customer service to get refunded.

I recently had my car break down and due to covid was able to ride with the driver back to Denver. After calling around to get a one way booking to DIA Alamo said they had a car available at the lot, so I booked the car and they emailed me a confirmation. I had to uber over to alamo from where my car broke down and when I asked for my car I was immediately met with hostility. They had sent me a confirmation number no less than 30 minutes before and claimed to have a car on the lot for me. Overall very disappointed in how this was handled by Alamo.

I rented a car in Aspen for several days before returning it in Durango. The day I returned the car, I opened the back door and put my suitcase in and then closed it before driving to Durango. About 6 hours later, I dropped the car in Durango, again opening the back door to retrieve my suitcase. Later that day, Alamo called and left a message that I hadn't elected additional coverage for damage and that the back fender of the car was damaged...which I would have noticed on one or both occasions when I opened the back door on that same day. I called and asked them to send me photos of the alleged damage and explained that there was no damage when I dropped the car off -- at which time no employee from Alamo checked the car for damage. They told me they would call me right back, which never happened. I smell a rat and have the feeling that this conduct may be pervasive w/in this company. Since I'm an attorney, I'm going to look into this thoroughly. Needless to say, I won't rent from Alamo again and would advise others to be wary.

Upon arrival we were given a dirty Nissan Sentera. The inside of the car was filthy dirt, food crumbs, straw wrappers. We were in a rush and the rep only mentioned one other vehicle, so we dealt with the dirty car. The vehicle was one of the worst I ve driven. It has horrible handling and no power, neither on the uphill nor the flats. When we returned the car after traveling to Evergreen, Denver, and Colorado Springs, the rep said all cars drive sluggish in CO due to the elevation. No. We have been to CO, rented cars, and rode with others. It s not an elevation matter of all cars the car we received was dirty and underperforming. Also, when we pulled into the lot, the rep nearly hit us as he sped into the lot with another rental. I would not recommend Alamo for their vehicles or professionalism.

Terrible terrible service. I had a reservation for 9pm came at 9:05 and no one was there. Then couple weeks later had a reservation for 8 am. No one was at the desk. Had to go to another company because I needed a car to get to an appointment and paid almost double then my reservation because no one could bother showing up for their job. When I returned my other car, I asked the guy at the desk why no one was there and he said Things happen . Not even an apology. So thanks Alamo for costing me a fortune because Thing Happen . Never again.

Worst rental experience EVER!I was quoted 59. Bill turned out to be over 100Aspen airport rental the staff was misleadingLater when I called she was Rude kept talking over me. And kept repeating You signed for it that makes it a legal contract. Not under duress it doesn t. I only had the car for 4 hours!Reserved a car. They didn t have it. So UPCHARGE! Or wait at airport til the NEXT day. Lol. ( good thing I had it reserved). You MUST have insurance although I have my own. It will only be 14.00. ( plus 27.00 not mentioned). 47. Of insurance for a 3 hour drive. It s not as much the low quote. High price switcheroo which is buyer beware right? It s how rude and nasty they are especially Zobia she should not work in a field dealing with people.Once customer service transferred me to the actual location, WOW She must be the owners daughter.Beware of Alamo. They re thieves and RUDE. And it s an airport location. Who knows how many other out of state travelers they ve tricked.

The best customer service I ve ever received was from their previous employee Molly Smolinski. Even though she left to pursue career advancements you can trust the team will help you. Call ahead and ask for a good deal with a reliable car.

Everything about the car was just fine. We even had enough room for three full ski bags and four suitcases plus our carry ons in this little SUV.The Aspen employees are always wonderfully accommodating as well!!
