The customer service was great! But the attention to deal and repairs definitely have room for improvement. I it took some time to get my vehicle back to "post collision" condition as I had to take back to have it squared away. They tried to make things right with some issues I had found when getting it back like parts not installed before trying to return it bit noticed my front console display was scratched up along with a little gouge in the steering wheel. It looks as though someone tried to pry the wrong spot to remove my head liner gouging out plastic near the reading lamps. I understand this work isn't easy, but if they had been a little more carefully it would have gone a long way. I believe they used several old parts that were involved in the collision as there is a chip in the passenger head lamp,missing clip on the passenger wheel well and the hood definitely doesn't align, a very noticeable gap difference. I honestly just wanted my vehicle back at this point. They did a great job with the hail damage, but the attention to detail and carelessness with the initial return was upsetting.(Marked up headliner) I admit the customer service was great, but the repairs weren't so hot. I believe just as myself, they just wanted my vehicle out of there. I appreciate them trying to make things right, but in the end, I'd maybe recommend them for an older model vehicle, but definitely wouldn't for a newer vehicle.I just noticed behind my front seats they cut the floor with a razor to I assume take off the skid plate but they never replaced the anchors.

Nightmare ServiceMy car left their shop in worse condition than when I dropped it off:1. They tore a piece off my car, leaving it broken and unaddressed. Discovered the missing piece in my trunk (see images).2. The battery died the next day due to sloppy re-installation. I had to tighten everything myself to prevent continuous power loss.3. Back seats were disgracefully dirty, covered in dirt and shoe marks required professional cleaning.4. Sticky residue around my door edges, likely from their tape. Took an hour to scrape off with water and a towel.Overall, a dreadful experience. Save yourself the trouble; they might only act after public complaints. This company has had my vehicle for more than 90 days. When I scheduled my appointment they told me they would do an estimate two weeks ahead of time because I am a small business owner and I have to have my vehicle to work but when that time came they denied they agreed to that stating they don't do that until its able to be disassembled. I dropped it off for a scheduled appointment on 11/7. They refused to give me an estimated completion date. It needed a frame replacement, per my suspicion, and it would take 2-4 weeks to arrive. I requested my vehicle be returned while I waited so I could continue to work and they denied because they were going to continue with other work during this time. The frame arrived the week of 12/1 and I was then informed my vehicle had been sitting untouched the entire duration from 11/10-12/5. I was told it was going for the frame swap that week. After 2 weeks I made more than 10 attempts to get an update. They promised to return my calls and did not. On 12/19 I was informed they still had not started the frame replacement with their reasoning being "we have a very small mechanical team and only one lift." At that time I asked about a known suspension issue and was told they did not find any issues. They said they were waiting on a frame mount and other than that all parts were in and all body work was completed. 1/23 I was informed all collision work was completed including the cab being on the truck except "buttoning up a few things" and replacing the bed. They said they actually did find a suspension issue after all and needed the bed off for the repair. I gave them the information for my warranty company and asked them to submit paperwork for approval. My truck sat for more than 5 business days with zero communication about the warranty. They told me they submitted the paperwork to my warranty company but when I called the warranty company I found out that information was untrue and they had not submitted anything. I asked for an update on this situation and was then informed they had lied about the body work and they were still waiting for a bumper that I was told was already installed. I was informed at this time that the cab actually was not on my truck yet and the information they provided previously was also false. Over two weeks I asked for updates and they refused any information regarding the warranty. On 2/6 I was informed they replaced the suspension part without my permission or knowledge that the warranty company had even approved it. They said they will take care of the $200 warranty deductible but I will still owe additional money. Per the motor vehicle repair act they are required to give an estimated completion date and are not to do work without my approval, both of which they have violated. I have asked to speak to management several times and they ignore my request. I spoke to the manager, Wayne, one time in the last 90 days and asked how we can make this right. His response was "I'm going to make this right by fixing your truck and giving it back." I regret using this shop. Their negligence and lack of capability to handle the volume of repairs they take in has cause significant financial distress to my business by having my truck sitting on their lot for weeks untouched. I now see there have been other similar reviews since my truck has been in their possession. Do yourself a favor and trust the negative reviews you see. They do not care about their customers and they will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your business. When they are wrong they will not find a resolution to your issue. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, Attorney general, and their corporate office.

A few months ago, someone swiped the back corner of my car. It took awhile for Carstar to be able to get me in, which wasn't a problem as it was minor damage. But from the moment the appointment was made until I picked it up, I can't say anything but great things about this company. From the receptionist being so sweet and wonderful when I arrived, to other workers making sure I was okay while waiting for the rental car, and even calling them when it took awhile, and they even gave me almost daily updates as well as a tracker to keep check on the progress of my car, these people have been truly amazing and made getting my car repaired a nice and calm experience. My car looks even better than when I brought it in! Thank you guys so much!

I really wish I had read reviews before I booked with this shop, because I definitely would've gone somewhere else if I'd seen how consistent the problems are here. I waited 2 months for an appointment (which I guess is just standard in the body shop industry) and when I dropped my car off I was told more than once by the estimator that it would take 1-2 weeks to do the work, so 2 weeks was how long I planned to be without a vehicle. They spent the first week arguing with the at-fault driver's insurance company about coverage for a repair that wasn't in the original estimate, so I'll give them a mulligan on that one. But they didn't even begin to order parts until after 2 weeks, for repairs that 100% were getting done regardless of the outcome of the 1st week's wrangling. The other trick I picked up on is that they take your car apart first, even if the work isn't going to begin anytime soon, so you can't just come get it and go somewhere else when they tell you it's going to be several more weeks. Which is what they told me (by text) after week 2. Anytime I called to ask to speak to someone about the delay, they took a message and said someone would get back to me. IF that happened (maybe about half the time they ignored me), it was by text or email and there was never any explanation about why there was a delay, just the usual corporate customer service platitudes of "thank you for your patience" and "your repairs are moving along nicely and should be finished in 3 more weeks". By the time the car was finally ready I had been without a car for nearly 6 weeks; a full month longer than I had prepared to be without transportation and it was a HUGE inconvenience for my work schedule. If they had told me upfront it would take that long, I would've either found another shop with less of a backlog, or made some arrangements for other transportation. Drawing me in with the "2 weeks" quote felt very bait-and-switch.I'm giving them 2 stars instead of one because the work, at least, was good. My car looked great and everything was done well, so far as I can tell, and I would give them a much better rating if their customer service wasn't so... non existent.To their potential customers I would say this: If at all possible, find somewhere else you feel you can trust. If you can't and must use Ideal Carstar Arvada, be prepared for the work to take MUCH longer than they tell you upfront, and know that their communication is sorely lacking.

They required several months for just an estimate appointment and another several months for my repair appointment then merely hours before I was supposed to bring the car in they pulled the rug out and canceled my appointment with no attempt to clarify or offer an alternative.Derek offered the worst customer service experience I can think of. Multiple times he'd walk off mid conversation without any indication if he was coming back. My condolences to his loved ones.

This CarSTAR location was amazing! Professional, great customer service, and was easier to work with than the insurance that had me use them. I was so grateful for their constant communication and helpfulness. Would recommend to anyone!!

Took my 2023 Tesla Model X for repairs. Carstar was just amazing. Got in quickly, the estimate was accurate, and the work was flawless. They even got it done a day early. Molly at the front desk and Derrick the technician were outstanding.

Car star did an excellent job on my car took longer than I thought but I think it was because it took so long for my insurance agent from progressive took so long to get my car towed there. 5 star for car star not so much for progressive

I highly advise you to not bring your vehicle here. I was reversed into and hit and was given the option to come here by Progressive. I chose this shop because their most recent reviews were good but I should have paid attention to their older reviews as they were more accurate. They assembled the car back together in about a week. When I got my car, I immediately noticed the small particles underneath the clear coat, mostly on the BRAND NEW bumper. There were some on the hood as well as over spray. I asked them to fix it and they were nice about it and brought it back in and told me to keep the rental, however, the guy who came out for the car had a nasty attitude because my car was coming back in, or so it seemed. A couple days later, my car was completed, I went after work in the evening and still noticed some things under the clear coat on the hood and the overspray had never been taken care of. I told Darren, he was nice about it and said to give them about 20 minutes and they would try to get it out. They brought it out and it was all still there. Darren started to sound frustrated and said that if they did anything more, it would mess up the paint. I said fine and left with the car. The next day, I noticed (since it was sunny out) my whole hood had buff marks all over underneath the clear coat. I reported back to the insurance and Car Star. I called everyday over a span of 3-4 days and kept getting the run around, on the 3rd or 4th day, Sarah answered and said she would get me taken care of. I had to take more time off work and bring it in. Jennifer met me outside with a roll of blue tape and marked all of my concerns, which were not there when I originally brought my 2 month old car in. I got it back a few days later, picked it up after work and I still noticed things under the clear coat but most of my concerns were taken care of. I was willing to let those go since my hood had looked a lot better. I was able to still catch the sun out, parked my car and inspected it, I noticed that a small area of my driver door had weird matte patches and that there was some kind of tape residue under the clear coat next to my windshield. I told Jennifer about it and she basically said that they didn't touch my door. I know that it wasn't there when I brought my car in even the last time I was there. I was fed up. I had been nice this whole time allowing them to fix their mistakes but with my car continuously kept coming out with more errors, I was upset. My car is brand new. They claim that there was dents on my hood from rocks and even claimed to of fixed one. I was appreciative but found it hard to believe. I've NEVER seen any dents on the hood from rocks. I get it, the roads suck in Denver, but obviously, I've been really good at noticing the smallest things. Aside from that, I wrote in a long email to Wayne the manager, the two owners and Jennifer to show the pictures of my areas of concern still. I didn't receive anything back. I called Progressive and told them what was going on. I then called Carstar and asked for Wayne. He hardly took any ownership and had excuses galore. He blamed the microfiber cloth I used to wipe off dust to look for imperfections of their work. He also said my hood had multiple dents from rocks, which I never saw prior to bringing my car in, Jennifer had only mentioned one. I still see no dents, only the small particles under the clear coat that look like dents almost but if you rub your finger over, you can tell it's something under the clear coat as it bumps up. I was very nice throughout the whole process and gave them chance after chance. Wayne did offer me to bring the car back so he can look at it and said I was welcomed to take it to another location. I refused his offer. They shouldn't be paid for making the exterior of my car look awful. I've never been so upset. They charge the insurance to cover for overspray and still get overspray all over my windshield which Jennifer pointed out and on the sides of my hood. Waited 2 months to get my car in. They called me just before my date and cancelled. Now they estimate they can get me in after the new year. That's over 2 months away. Customers deserve better! I could have scheduled with another body shop if I knew they were going to do this to me. They made no attempt to help me get my car in anywhere else. They only recommended I try Fort Collins.

I took my daughters car to this repair shop because my insurance co normally works with them. And nothing really was wrong with the repair or the way it was handled. The work looks good and was done within the time frame they said it would (7-8 days). I picked up the car on 9/15. That's when the problems started. They had to swap out one of the front tires to replace the damaged rim which was part of the estimate. In June 2017 i purchased 4 new tires for the car (see attachment). When i got the car back there were 2 different tires on the front of the car?? They were clearly worn and not the same tread pattern as the new back tires. I showed the manager who brought her mechanic to look at tires and he agreed they were not the same tires as the new back ones. We also looked at the original photos from the quote that showed a new tire on the front. They were clearly different. At that point both the manager and the mechanic started to back peddle and make as many excuses as you can think of. I've attached photos for you to decide. In the pictures you will see the new tires and used ones. I took the car to Tires Plus where i bought the tires and they said they are definitely different and there is no way the tires could have worn that quickly (2300 miles). I sent picture to my Ins company and they agreed the tires are different. They are coming out to look for them selves too look so i will update. I'm not sure what happened here but this auto body company is not trust worthy.Update 10/30/17 The owner is a liar, Esurance did come out and looked at the tires the body shop gave me, and he could clearly see that they were different than the new tires in the body shops original estimate pictures. Esurance did replace my tires because they felt the body shop had pulled something, otherwise they would have told me to take a hike...

Ideal went above and beyond for my car. Planet honda said it was totaled (btw I hit a curb at 15mph with my front tire) so we took it to Ideal. Progressive and Ideal agreed it was nowhere near totaled. They replaced/fix everything I needed. There was one hiccup but that's because the wrong size wheel was accidentally ordered. Instead of making me wait another week they put my original one back on because it was just scratched up from the curb. Took a drive over 85mph with no issues. I'll be taking it back to get the new wheel on next week. Hands down this was a great experience, especially because I just moved here 3 months ago. Take it from me, they will save you money and keep your anxiety down Thanks again to Ideal!!

I had SUCH an incredible experience at Carstar Arvada. From start to finish, they made everything manageable, seamless, and positive for me.My insurance was not communicative with me during all of this, but Carstar worked with me to make sure things went smoothly. Since I was out of state when they needed to bring my car in, they picked my car up from my apartment building and brought it in themselves, which made things SO much easier and completely took the stress off things for me. They were then able to work on my car while I was quarantined at home in California. Furthermore, they communicated with me throughout the ENTIRE repair process, sending me updates almost daily. Lastly, when I picked my car up, it looked brand new! All of the repairs were done beautifully and each piece looks amazing. I could not have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning (if need be, hopefully not) and also recommending to others! Can't thank you guys enough.

Had a broken windshield on our Tesla Model Y. Auto-glass folks fixed the windshield but misaligned the wipers such that they jumped the glass and scratched the paint on one side. Insurance wanted us to work it out with auto-glass folks who gave us the run-around (store manager had just stepped out, out of office, on vacation, the excuses go on). Many frustrating phone calls with insurance later, auto-glass folks wanted us to go to their preferred auto-body shop who gave us an estimate of $400--they would try buffing and hope that would do the trick. The problem was: this auto-body shop was not Tesla-approved, which might void the warranty on our paint.We called Tesla, but they wanted to keep our car for 3 days for a "full inspection" that might cost upwards of $4,000, which the auto-glass folks (who would be footing the bill) would most certainly balk.Went down the list of Tesla approved auto-body shops and called CARSTAR Ideal Arvada. Brought our car in within the week, and once there they asked if I had some time to wait. Sure, 40mins later, these good folks brought my car back looking good as new--they even washed, polished, and vacuumed the car muddy from a weekend snowstorm, all for no charge! "Well, we buffed and the scratches came off so no real work was done and therefore no charge!" they said.WOW. What we had spent 2.5 months trying to get done, Carstar got it done in 40mins, and at no charge. Count us impressed. Thank you SO much, Carstar!Service: Body & Trim

I have been trying to get a quote for 6 weeks now and nothing! No phone calls, no email, no text. If they cannot even estimate the repairs how in the world can they be trusted to do the actual work???If I could negative stars I would. Horrible!Update: I have driven into the location twice, left numerous voice mails and several emails with NO response and now the "owner" wants me to all again and leave another voice mail? Why?

Even though they have been so busy it took almost a month and a half to get a date scheduled, I find their work to be worth the wait. They are always professional, friendly, and keep you informed of the progress. And as I mentioned their work is exceptional. Would highly recommend them. These guys were awesome! Everything went perfectly and I even received notifications via text through the process. The car looks great and their customer service was great. They even let me just leave the rental car with them for rental company to pick up. I would definitely recommend them and it s the only place I ll take my cars too for body work. There were multiple delays, despite several weeks to get parts and paperwork done ahead of time. Many promised follow-up messages that did not happen. Poor explanations of processes in progress, left me questioning capabilities of staff. A lot of blame went towards outside parts distribution and insurance processing. Companies Iam sure Carstar has worked with. One star because as of now the workmanship seems OK. Also cleaning after the was a bit sloppy, but I am former military, so expectations may have been a bit high.Service: Painting
