I switched to Colchin after lackluster experiences at other shops around town. Prices here are competitive and the service is exceptional. They have a great way of explaining what needs doing and what can be postponed for purposes of budgeting/planning.I ll also add that I ve had the chance to wait in lobby for my car and observe the customers who come and go. Every single interaction is positive and this shop sees a wide variety of folks from people who know a lot about their car to people like me who only know what the internet tells me. I definitely get the sense that customers, myself included, are well pleased with the service and prices.Many thanks to the folks at Colchin.

Colchin is a great shop to take your vehicle to for any type of maintenance. The prices for your more common maintenance tasks are more than reasonable. Very nice, informative folks at the front desk as well, always happy to answer any questions I've ever had. Even with the more complicated repairs, I never feel like I am being absolutely raked over the coals financially. Above all else, I've never gotten any vibe that they are being dishonest with me about what needs to be serviced, and what does not. You cannot say that about many shops these days. 100% would recommend taking yours and your families vehicles to Colchin.

Clay is a highly qualified mechanic. Problem on my Ford Escape was diagnosed, parts were ordered, and service was completed very timely. Price was as quoted and fair. Walked out as very SATISFIED customer.

Colchin for the past couple of years has been my go to shop for auto repairs. They have always been professional in the work performed and are excellent in communication while your vehicle is under repair. We scheduled to have the repair work done on a Friday, but since the vehicle had a critical code reading and wasn't safe for the vehicle to drive it, I took it in on Monday afternoon just in case it could be done earlier. Colchin got to the vehicle right away, repaired it with OEM parts and we got it back before Friday!

I called thursday morning with the need to get my car in asap due to a flashing check engine light and engine problems. Colin was extremely helpful and was able to get my car in the same day and diagnose it. He referred me to a towing company and called when my car arrived and to let me know what as wrong. They were able to to get the parts ordered and replaced and i was able to pick my car up the next day. Extremely pleased with the quality of work done and the communication. I've had a lot of bad experiences with places. But this was definitely the best.

Just started going here. They communicated with me, to let me know what my Jeep needed. They did an oil change on my jeep, and even called me to make sure they put the oil I wanted went in. I well continue to take make jeep here. Thank you for everything guys.

It is one thing to say you are the best and another to prove you are the by actions. Superior communication with excellent listening to the customer. Excellent team work means you get your vehicle back sooner and at a better cost, I am 67 years old and have had many experiences with car problems. This is the best auto service I have ever known.

Another amazing service experience! 03/31/2023Took my car in for a routine oil change and safety evaluation. I have been having an unrelated problem on my Ford Expedition that the dealer has been unable to rectify. Asking about it in passing I was given an Interesting and comprehensive diagnosis about the problem and with this new info I will be able to revisit the dealer to get this fixed while it is still under warranty. The generous time spent with info and advice is always the norm with these guys. Thank you Colin Jason and Josh!

Check noise (I think it's my brakes) 03/29/2023Just an overall great experience with very professional people that know what they are doing. They tell it like it is and the rates are reasonable. It's important to me to know I am getting an honest diagnosis of my vehicle and no up charging was pushed upon me - as a matter of fact, they sent me home charging me with no repairs. . . . . because it wasn't needing any!! Wow! Colin, Clay, Todd, and Josh, thank you for your professionalism. I will be back to get brake pads (when they are actually needed) and an oil change soon. Until then.....Service: Brakes

I will have to say, this place is phenomenal for my first time. I called several shops to get an estimate on an issue that was brought to me that needed to get fixed. I was told I would get a call back or the only way they could give me an estimate was by bringing my vehicle in. Keep in mind I already knew what needed to be done and was shown in a video. I called Colchin and without hesitation Josh was open to hearing me out. He investigated and called me back with my options. From the moment I called Colchin to the moment I dropped off my car and the moment I picked up my car. It was such a pleasant service to have. Everyone at Colchin is so hospitable and I would recommend this business for all your vehicle needs.

The most amazing group of people I've met in a very long time they truly care about their customers and put their heart and soul into the work they do. I'd like to personally thank the guys and this incredible shop for restoring faith that good honest mechanics who know their jobs and go way way way above and beyond on every job.. and to whoever decorated the waiting area WOW! best shop ever!!!!!

I bring my car here religiously because they are honest and wonderfully kind. Every time I have brought a vehicle here they have been more than helpful and accommodating with pick up, drop off, and payments over the phone when I have needed, as I work 12 hour shifts. The staff here are super knowledgeable, and really great at explaining what's going on in a way that doesn't come off as belittling.I recommend this place to everyone, the care that they have taken with my cars has gone above and beyond!

Colchin is a good, thorough, and clean auto shop, but not transparent in their labor charges, and seem to charge around 20-30% higher labor rates than other nearby shops like Factory Trained Auto. Their labor rates seem to be somewhere in the range of $110-$175 per hour based on my charges. I'd expect similar or maybe slightly lower quality work at factory trained auto but at a lower price, although I haven't been there yet.It's possible Colchin has more experience, is more thorough, and takes their time more than others, so that ~25% premium on labor may be due to having older and more experienced mechanics who take their time. It might even be from them taking more time at a similar hourly rate. I definitely appreciate mechanics taking their time to avoid mistakes and catch and fix any problems.However, the bill they gave me didn't show number of hours billed. I had to ask how many hours they were billing me for, since it seemed to be about 50%+ more than they said it should be, and Jason threw around 2 or 3 numbers (he couldn't seem to remember exactly how many hours, which is weird for a huge job) and mentioned something about not even paying the mechanic for how many hours he worked, which all seemed a little fishy to me in part because the mechanic was a Colchin and the guy doing the paperwork was not. Can a non-Colchin *really* tell a Colchin what to do at Colchin auto? Doubtful.They seem to take their time and have a very organized and clean shop, which is great. Their mechanics are also very experienced and seem to really know their stuff. Clay Colchin is experienced with the Ford 5.4 Triton engines (he has one himself) and was able to get mine running well after some timing issues.They were very professional and nice throughout the process. The place is super clean and well-organized.
