I made an appointment to bring my Toyota Tacoma in with two issues: squishy brakes and low power. When I arrived at my appointment time, I was ignored in favor of the dude working discussing politics with another dude for ten minutes. When they finally took a break from that, I said, I have an appointment and gave the dude my name. Without even looking at the appointments, he rudely said, no you don t. I told him who I made the appointment with, turns out it was him. He grudgingly admitted I had an appointment. When I came back to pick up my truck, he said there was no problem with the brakes and the low power issue was just me not knowing how to drive a stick. I have been driving for over 45 years. Every car I have owned has had a manual transmission.I took my truck to a different shop. They noticed right away that the master cylinder on my brakes was completely shot and leaking brake fluid all over the place. But Ron s never even looked at it. All Ron s had to do was use their eyes and know it was a bad master cylinder. They did not.Ron s claimed that they drove my truck all the way down 62 to Morongo & back and saw no loss of power coming up the hill. When I picked up my truck, there was not enough miles put on it to indicate they drove it that far. They did not drive it that far.I took my truck to a different mechanic who found that the fuel injectors were dirty and the fuel pump was going out. Ron s could have diagnosed that with a simple fuel pressure test.I m convinced that any good reviews for this shop are posted by his buddies, because I can not imagine anyone getting any decent service from this place. Horrible. Stay away.If you examine all of their five star reviews, it s evident they were posted by people who have never been there and are just friends of his.

They are wonderful. Have gone to them about 5 years. Seems like squirrels love my wires. My landlady have gone to them longer. John is great but all of them are. The best.

Here's what you can expect when you bring a vehicle to Ron's Automotive for service: An honest evaluation by a competent mechanic offered at a fair price. It's that simple. More than once I've brought my vehicle there after receiving an outrageous estimate from another mechanic, or after another mechanic has scratched his head and offered multiple theories on what the problem could be. You're not going to get that at Ron's; you're going to get an accurate diagnosis and a fair estimate of what it will cost to repair. Additionally, John who is the main/first contact you'll encounter will give you an accurate estimate on when you can expect the job to be completed. If your needed repair is likely to take more than a day or two to complete, John is going to tell you that when you first come in. You can also expect a clean and comfortable waiting area if you must wait, but I recommend that you arrange someone to pick you up if you aren't going to wait. Ron's is not in the business of ferrying customers all over town while their vehicles are being serviced so plan ahead. They're also not going to try to upsell you things you may not need like fluid flushes, nitrogen filled tires, or extended warranties. Most of their work comes with a 2-year / I think it's 10,000 mile guarantee.

Customer service was good although corners are definitely getting cut to squeeze more out of you. 2.5l low on oil. 60$ oil change turned into $130! Basically charged me the cost of an oil change which I came for to simply add oil to my engine. And called it labor cost. Forgot to reset light. Has me confused and having issues smog my car cause maintenance and engine light are on now.

I took my 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora to Ron's and they were able to diagnose the problem of bad coil packs which they replaced for a really reasonable charge and the car runs great now. I did find it strange that they called to ask if we wanted our car put back together? And my side view mirrors which were fine when we took the car in are real loose like they took them off or apart which had nothing to do with the problem it was brought in for, and can't be adjusted for viewing, I don't know how that happened? I would have given them five stars except for this issue with my side view mirrors.Ok so figured out the side view mirror for some reason a piece of been taken off inside we were able to tighten it up and it was all good but then we found all kinds of caps and covers missing off of parts in the engine so be sure to check everything when you get your car back!

Got my truck worked on today here for the first time. The gents here were all super friendly, down to earth and fair. Also very professional. They made me feel at ease right away! Lastly, work they did was fairly priced and done in a fair amount of time. Thanks Jon and the rest of you here for the comfort you gave me!!

Very disappointed. We have used Ron's a few times before and have been fairly happy. However, last week we came in for an estimate and one was given, but we were charged a "diagnostic fee" which was not made clear up front. Attempted to contact owner but he hasn't returned my call after several days. Having spent a fair amount of money there and with the high probability of much more in the future I am surprised they are willing to lose a customer over a relatively small fee (compared to future business and good will).

Ron's always takes great care of my vehicles! Everytime I have a problem or need regular maintenance they make sure they get me scheduled and get the work done fast! Even when I don't have an appointment they make the time to look at the problem to make sure my car is safe to drive before they let me drive away.

My front wheel drive hybrid needed a new water pump; the water pump wasn't even visible from the top. They fixed it in less than a half-day, and the price was reasonable. Always great service at Ron's.

I've been going to Ron's for many years. They have great customer service, fair prices and expertise. They have always given me an estimate for repairs and estimated time for completion. They have gone out of their way to be helpful in all matters. I'd give them 10 stars!

Rude! What happened to ron's automotive? The new guy running the front end needs A different job that allows him to be kind to others. He is wound up so tight and has seemed to have lost compassion and respect for other human beings. I waited in the waiting room for 45 mins and asked him one simple question in that time. He was clearly too busy sorting mail to assist anyone else. It was a very uncomfortable wait time being in that office with his negativity to other staff members and customers. I used to love coming here because they were kind and they were honest. Not sure what happened in the last few years. Sadly, I won't be coming back here.

I brought my f350 to Ron's Automotive, last week. Professional staff, great customer care... even though, I came into their office upset over my broke down truck... I left with my truck fixed up so well, it feels like a whole new truck. This business is very respectful toward women truck drivers, a quality I respect.

My regular mechanic was not available, so I used a recommendation from a friend.Work was substandard, no recommendations...did only what they had to, and I only found out after I took it back to my former mechanic, this is not a place that I would recommend. Speaking from experience, if I give you carte blanche and you screw me over, you're definitely not going to get a good review!Thank God, I didn't drive it to much before discovering all the issues that went overlooked!

Honest technicians, I've taken my vehicle there one day, needed work done, they completed the work, never did they say other things were wrong and needed to be fixed, I've had experiences with mechanics, they are not honest, they try to over price you and tell you other things that needs to be fixed, when you know that you had these things fixed not long ago. Mechanics are not as honest as they use to be, but, now I've found honesty in these guys. I'm sticking with them and them only, until they prove me wrong, and if they move away I'm in trouble!

I've had a few things done with my 2003 Honda Cr-V at this repair shop. The most recent being an oil change. They've been very fast and fair with their pricing and the always include a multi-point inspection.I plan on using them for all of my auto's repair and maintenance needs from now on.I recommend making an appointment as they are always busy. They can handle repairs and maintenance on a lot of different types of vehicles from motorcycles to rv's.They do diesel engine work as well.Unfortunately they will not work on my 38' International schoolbus conversion, but I am used to that.Overall, I highly recommend Ron's Automotive.

We have our entire fleet of cars and trucks serviced at Ron's. They are professional, timely, and get the job done right. When one our vehicles leaves Ron's we know that our drivers are running mechanically safe. Thank you guys for a job well done.

Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. It's amazing to find an automotive shop that cares more about the customer than the bottom dollar. Ron's cares about fixing the fault of a symptom the first time around, not having the customer dish out money for a suspected fault and having to come back.

One of the very few shops close to 2 towns over that accepted my car that had problems. I'm guessing they have the right diagnostic tools, and I tried calling other shops and said they do not have the scanner for my type of car which was a Mini.Very Professional and Understanding, shop kept me up to date and left a message for me when I could not pick up the phone. Owner was feeling under the weather at the time when I picked up my fixed car, hope he is all better.**And also one note of keeping care of owners cars, minus one star because of noticeable change of driver side glass window which does not fully close now, whenever I fully slide up the glass it automatically goes down mid way, tried resetting it to normal but to no avail. The reason may be that the door was shut hard or slammed in constantly and making the window engaged as if the door was opened.Other than that I will stop by for fixes and or oil changes. Thank you.

I have to give a big shout out to Mike and John at Ron's automotive. I was stuck in a parking lot unable to shift into drive and they went out of there way to help me, not expecting anything in return. Mike came to me personally to have a look on his way home from work and had me back on the road in five minutes. Right after Mike helped me, John stopped by to make sure I was ok. It can be tough to find an honest and trustworthy shop, but people like Mike and John should make Ron's Automotive an easy choice.

Had a transmission installed. They came in a $1000 cheaper than their competition. There is this thing called the internet where you can see if the price is competitive go figure. They were spot on with the pricing. Thanks Ron's Automotive.

I've never posted on Google Reviews, but there is a first time for everything. I see the many good reviews for Ron's Automotive here--that's what led us to bring our car there last Friday to begin with as we were passing through on our vacation.Perhaps the good reviews came from locals. Consider yourselves fortunate! We are not locals, just a northern California family at the tail end of a well earned, long and happy vacation through southern California. When our 14 year old Buick's temperature gauge began to venture into "high" even on downhill and flat terrain, my husband knew it warranted a trip to the mechanics, considering we had a whole planned day of exploration in Joshua Tree that day, and a 9 hour drive back to northern California the next day. What happened over the next 24 hours is nothing short of a venture into a second rate "Twilight Zone" episode. We were treated with inexplicable and outright hostility. In all our encounters with mechanics in our combined 88 years on this Earth, never before have we been met with such such deception and thinly veiled rage. Never once did we receive an apology for them lying to us about the estimated finish time; we received no apology at all at any time during our experience. "We're sorry" goes a long way in this day and age. Yes, it is not their fault our car's gauge went on the fritz, but they are at fault for their angry, bizarre behavior. I should also note that the surly young man at the front desk told me when we came to retrieve our car that next day that my husband was lying, that he (my husband) had made up the original estimated completion time of 2-3 p.m. Besides this being a disgraceful accusation against my husband,I find it fascinating that my husband, a university administrator (decidedly not a mechanic), would have any knowledge of how long it would take for a car to be fixed. If so, he certainly wouldn't give a timeframe of 6 hours from when he arrived at Ron's, considering his family (me and our son) was stuck at a rental home in the middle of the desert, 20 minutes away with no transportation to go anywhere. If he was told, as they claim, that they could give no estimated time frame, we would have simply brought it to another mechanic or taken our chances with driving our car as it was operational. Instead, they chose to lie.We were ultimately not charged for the repairs they did make (they were unable to make all the repairs); my one concession to something they did right during this encounter; but this was not at our request. I would have gladly paid anything to have avoided the hostility we encountered. We felt, for the first time in our lives, targeted. Was it our Obama bobblehead on our dashboard? Was it the Burning Man bumper sticker? When you are treated with such utter disdain and lack of civility, you ponder the reason. We have been puzzled since our encounter with Ron's Automotive, racking our brains to determine what warranted such spiteful attitudes from these folks. It was to the point where I felt we were literally in a dangerous place...at a mechanic's!!! I'm not a sheltered person...I've been all over the world and encountered LOTS of different cultures and attitude. This was, simply, bizarre behavior.Look, I have no absolutely no vested interest in how this company operates. I live nowhere near the Yucca Valley. We have a network of great, kind, professional, and honest mechanics where we live. But I do have a duty to warn people of what we encountered. I strongly advise any tourists driving through to avoid this place at all costs.

I have been bringing my motorhome in for regular service as well as "emergencies" for years. I am satisfied with the work and the fairness of the bill. Motorhomes can present problems and situations distinct from regular vehicles, but that does not seem to be a challenge Ron's cannot handle.
