Sean is worth the wait. His schedule was full, but after giving me an appointment and quote, I was prepared to take the hit. During the repair, he called to notify me that he needed to order another part. I was happy that my mechanic was thoroughly repairing my car. It's running better and doesn't smell hot anymore. Thank you, Thomas Automotive.

Fixed my Chevy truck when I had a knock sensor issue. They had to replace them twice, and were reasonably priced. I supplied the parts, so all they had to do was install them for us. I don't know the man's name, but I believe it was the manager ,he was really nice and knowledgeable, the only thing I didn't like ,was when after changing the sensors a 2nd time, the truck popped a catalytic converter code, and tried to scare us, and say that we'd possibly need to change the whole exhaust system, and he looked up the most expensive one for that truck....turns out Nothing was wrong with the catalyst system, and the truck never popped that code again, and we were able to pass smog....that was the only downside, that he could have responded differently. Other than that, I'd definitely take my truck and my other vehicles there again in the future. This shop got us in, in a reasonable time frame, and are good people.

Had some aftermarket parts that I wanted installed with my Kia Stinger. I met with Sean Thomas (owner and master mechanic), and he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, advising me on what parts were recommended. His shop doesn't look like much, but his service and quality are amazing. I wasn't surprised when I read the good reviews his shop has, and as a customer of his service, I'm glad to say I very much concur with what everyone has had to say. Definitely the best mechanic advice and service I've ever received.Availability by phone and in person. (5/5)Location (5/5)Service (5/5)Rates and affordability (5/5)Storage (5/5) - There's no charge to store a vehicle overnight, he does the work and charges for labor.I would definitely recommend his shop. He confirmed he does bolt-ons and welding, if required. He's also able to transmission and engine work. Anything else, definitely give him a call, if he's unavailable, he's extremely good about calling back.

Sean did an absolute DYNAMITE job on my Chevrolet Silverado. I had to have a new trnsmission installed and he was absolutely professional from start to finish. A week after the job was finished, I drove from Yuba City to Death Valley and back and the truck ran absolutely perfect. If that isn't a testiment to an amazing job done, what is??

04/11/24 UPDATE:DO NOT GO HERE. He said he fixed the issue, well obviously he DID NOT and now we're worse off than before he "repaired" our only car and the weather is getting hot now so that's great for us and our kids, NOT! Thousands of dollars and our valuable time wasted at this "repair" shop. I don't feel bad about my review anymore, we gave this shop the benefit of the doubt for too long but it's obvious now that Sean and/or his workers ripped us off!02/2024 It really hurts me to write this review because Sean used to be so good to us. But his newer workers, not so much. Decide for yourself, we don't want to assume but we're going off our personal multiple experiences here.Sadly this shop is no longer what it used to be. A few years ago this guy was great, honest, fast and got the job done. But this last year we noticed some new faces and I hate to say it but this shop got so popular it seems the workers got a big head, are greedy, and may be purposely causing more car issues too.Recently we went in with 2 small issues, he fixed one and since we were on a budget he said the other could wait no problem. But there were still noises with the issue they fixed and he said he didn't hear any noises. We didn't argue and went home but noticed things were worse with the remaining issue plus NEW sudden issues shortly after. There were obvious issues he should have noticed but he didn't mention them at all. So either he really didn't notice or he/his workers purposely did that to ensure we'd come back, either way it's all bad. We told Sean the owner about it and he said to come back, we did and one of his newer workers tried to convince us to get a bunch of costly stuff done immediately. We asked Sean about it and he confirmed there were NEW issues but no need to rush the job, so his worker lied, not the first time BTW. We've already paid this shop a lot for multiple issues since we started going to him a few years ago. And recently almost a thousand on a "small" issue. So because recently every time his workers check/work on our car we go home with a half fixed car and find more issues, his workers acting shady, and Sean not noticing obvious problems anymore we no longer trust this shop unfortunately.Worst part is this shop knows our sad one car and poor financial situation yet it feels they took advantage of our trust in returning to them multiple times out of desperation and paying them anyways after the way they treated us. We just really appreciated Sean's work and honesty from the first 2 times we went to him and he did amazing, so we tried to brush off the new problems as coincidence. But his shop really went downhill for us recently. Either Sean doesn't know he has bad workers or he's in over his head with too much work and isn't being as thorough as he was a few years ago. Too bad because Sean really seems like a nice hard working guy. Can't assume bad, but we've given enough chances and his shop greatly failed us and we don't want other struggling families wasting their time and money here with no guarantees. So we'll be trying new shops and I'll be leaving a review for them ASAP.

I have a BMW X-5 and have for years been looking for a mechanic that is competent and trustworthy- I found one with Sean and his crew at Thomas Automotive Repair. They always take the time to explain my options to me, are honest in their assessments and have never led me astray. They are competent in diagnosing my car's mechanical issues and their prices are reasonable and fair. On more than one occasion they have gone above and beyond. One time I needed my car to transport my grand-daughter safely, but the parts arrived late and it looked like they would have to wait until Monday to complete the repair. Sean understood the situation and, without me asking, stayed late on a Friday to complete the repair. When I came in to pick up the car he was friendly and not stressed at all, but left me with the impression that my business meant something to him and my concerns did as well. On another Friday the parts were delayed in Sac and I again was going to be without my car that weekend. One of Sean's employees Michael offered (if I picked up the part at BMW in Sacramento on Saturday morning) to come into and complete the repair on Saturday afternoon, when they are normally closed. That repair took longer than expected but Michael stayed there for several hours on a difficult task making sure the cooling system was properly repaired. He was willing to take time away from his family to ensure my repairs were completed timely. We spent the time sharing stories about how great God is. Those are just two of the many times Sean and Michael and their crew cared for a customer. Sean is incredibly knowledgeable in diagnosing my cars and he has been on point each time. I appreciate his service and his dedication to his customers. If you are looking for a honesty, trustworthy and competent mechanic and a good person to care for your cars, I wholeheartedly recommend Thomas Auto Repair.

I had a haywire electrical issue causing problems with my brake lights. After reading the reviews on Thomas Automotive, I decided to make an appointment and am so glad I did. Before going in, Sean called ahead and asked what I had been experiencing just to be prepared. When I got there the office was very friendly and relaxed even though I was a few minutes late. Sean was able to diagnose and repair my issues quickly and I had my car back within a few hours. I even received a follow up call a few days later to make sure everything was going ok and that I was happy. Thank you, again, Thomas Automotive, you will definitely have a returning customer for any future needs!Services: Electrical repair, Auto battery replacement

If you are looking for a Honest, reliable, knowledgeable, trustworthy with genuine charges for Car mechanic , then go to Sean ( Thomas Automotive Repairs). I take my BMW, LEXUS,TOYOTA TO HIM. He was the only one who could fix my Z3 (BMW). Thank Sean. HIghly recommend

Sean worked on two of my vehicles in the last month, one was a valve cover gasket replacement that very finicky work. He took the time to explain what was wrong, what needed to be done, gave me an estimate and charged a bit less than what he estimated, even though he called and said he wasn t pleased with the results of the first repair and said would like to hold onto the vehicle a bit longer to make sure it s done right and there are no signs of any more leaks. There were no excuses, no revisions to the estimate (even though he spent more time than planned on the repair), no disclaimers, terms or conditions. Just a simple suggestion to bring the car back if I have any issues and he ll take care of it.Seems very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things in a respectful, professional and humble manner. Even though I arranged for a ride, when I asked Sean if it would be possible to give me a ride back to my office, he didn t hesitate to offer to close down the shop to do it. I got the sense that he cares quite a bit about his reputation and doing right by customers. From my experience so far, he earns a 5 star rating from me.

Best mechanics to have work on your vehicle. Honest people which is a rare thing these day. If you are look for a mechanic that will do exceptional work. This shop is it. Friendly and fast. They kept me posted with updates and the estimate they gave me was spot on.

I Had A Radiator Replaced. Sean And Michael Were Awesome And Did An Excellent Job At A Low Price. This Was My First Experience And I Was Recommended By Two Family Member's. Thomas Auto Repair Is Now Our Family Go To Auto Repair Shop! I Was Treated Like A Family Member And Valued Customer From The Start. even though I came in just for an oil change just the vibe of this shop seems better than just about anywhere else I've ever been. they were very courteous professional and polite very quick very timely. I even asked on a quote on a repair that I've already researched and understood what it would cost and I'm very pleased with the quote and honesty I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this shop. I believe I found my cars new home for maintenance. Bought Prius and was able to get the oil changed same day I called . Thank you so much

Been going to Thomas automotive for over 5 years now, Sean and Michael have helped me slowly rebuild my truck peice by peice. It has been a long road and will continue to be one, but Sean and Michael are the best mechanic I know and I suggest them to anyone I run across who need any work done on a car. Sean has always been fair in price with me, I never feel pressured in to getting something done that I don't need done. Over all the best mechanic in yuba city.

Sean is the honest guy you should be taking your car to. There s no gimmicks or marketing deceit, just reliability, integrity, expertise and really reasonable pricing. Sean has earned loads of respect and is just a cool guy to boot, doesn t make anyone feel like an idiot for not knowing how to disassemble a carburetor or change their own oil. No such thing as a stupid question here. I recommend this place now to people I know from Chico to Sacramento. The parking lot is jammed full of cars yet you don t have to wait several days for service or responses from Sean. That should tell you something, just like a restaurant that s always packed (you know the food is good). Relieving to have found a solid shop I can depend on from now on.

My Acura was towed here after ejecting a spark plug. Not only was this place noledgeable on whatvwent wrong. They gave me multiple options on courses to take and didnt try to sell me any additional things I didnt need.Definitely turn into a return customer.

Sean is the bomb! I took in my Tahoe that was overheating, and needed a new water pump. He had my truck fixed the very next day. When I dropped it off the A.C. was not working and after he fixed the water pump the A.C. now WORKS! I paid around 400 and feel it was reasonable for the repair.Give him a try for your mechanical needs

Our amp meter suddenly went to zero, we feared alternator failure and a dead battery at some point. We found Thomas Auto Repair and called them and they said to come in and they would check it our. A young man named Sean immediately helped us and diagnosed the problem ( the batteries were charging fine) and didn t even charge us! I highly recommend Thomas Auto Repair!Service: Battery

My favorite auto repair shop in YS area, very friendly, honest, efficient, and reasonably priced! They found a problem with my 2002 Toyota Rav4 engine that Toyota dealer could not or would not find/fix! Since Toyota Dealer moved to new location on Hwy 20 they are not really interested in fixing older models, they just wanted to sell me on a newer model, which I cannot afford cause I am retired and on a low fixed income. I will go no where else for reg service and engine repairs!

AWSOME AWESOME AWSOME what can I say? Awsome? The guy is a straight shooter reasonably priced and HONEST. I don't go to anyone else when I need my car worked on. I recommend him to everyone who asks. Even people not in YC. If I could give this shop more stars I would.
