Needed a smog for registration, the shop was actually closed, but Jim allowed me to come in on an appointment anyway! He was such an honest and amazing mechanic, taking my car to this shop was the best decision Ive made to get my vehicle smogged. It s hard to find honest people these days and i can guarantee you, will not regret taking your car here for services. Ask for Jim !

We have been in the Sacramento area for only 5 weeks and along with finding the right doctors and great places to eat finding a great mechanic ranks right up there at the top of the list. Finding Eves online and reading other reviews he has received made giving him a call almost to no brainer. But now 48 hours after dropping the car off at his shop we can add our own five star rating to the others already online. Extremely knowledgeable very affordable and most of all completely honest with his diagnosis which included don't spend another dollar on this car. Yes I could apply some Band-Aids for you but what really needs to be done is to stop spending any money on this car and start looking for your next vehicle there is no point in spending good money on a bad car. After more than 50 years of owning cars of all types for literally hundreds of thousands of miles, I never had a mechanic who the day before I did not know and had never met tell me this car is terminal and while it's running just fine at the moment it's a time bomb ticking move on. Everyone who owns a car needs that kind of support guess what it's available I found it in Sacramento this week.

Amazing mechanic and business!! Jim was very informative and affordable. I just moved to the area and wasn t sure where to go but I will 100% always go back to Eve s Automotive for my future car issues. Highly recommend!

Best experience with a auto shop - ever. Jim, the owner, is super knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time to carefully look at our car (a few years old at this point, and starting to have some issues), and expertly fixed all of the urgent problems, in a cost-effective way. We will be back for sure.UPDATE Dec 2023:Been back for another issue with our (older) car. Again, superior service from Eve's Automotive! Diagnosed the problem and Jim fixed it immediately (PCV valve). Engine is going strong again. Great service. Same visit solution, and good conversation. Jim reminds me of a small town mechanic who does the right thing for his community. Work done as promised and he even called a few days later to make sure everything was ok.

Jim from Eve's Automotive is the man! Took my car in to a random repair shop to get my A/C checked and recharged because I had a leak. Picked up my car with somewhat my A/C working but not fully it was more warm than anything. Repair shop said it was good to go and everything was fine (it was not). Ended taking my car in to Eve's Automotive and boy I must say Jim is the man!!! Jim found the issue right away did a diagnostic and found the problem right away. Very professional and knows what he's doing unlike other "shops". Prices are very reasonable for the work he puts in and customer service is over the top! Jim was very helpful.i have an older vehicle that I was having trouble getting anyone to work on. I called and asked if they work on older vehicles and he said no. He then proceeded to contact me back and ask a few questions offering g to help point me in the right direction of what to look for. He then followed up asking g if I had gotten the vehicle fixed. When I told him not yet, which is when he decided to just bring it into him and he was ableto repair the problem. It was nice to know that some companies still care about the customer. I would have no hesitation referring friends and family to Eve's Automotivein in the future!!!Services: Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection

I was forced to go to another independent shop miles away due to my truck running very bad while on a camping trip. They told me I had a bad head gasket. Since I have been going to Eve s Automotive since they opened I know that they are trustworthy and very knowledgeable, so I took it to Jim (the owner and mechanic) for a second opinion. I am so glad I did!Jim correctly diagnosed the issue as a collapsed lifter. If I went with the other shop diagnosis I would have spent hundreds more and my truck would still not be fixed.Jim is a great mechanic and a great guy to boot. He takes the time to check over my truck each time it is in his shop. He has saved me thousands of dollars.I am so great full to have Eve s Automotive work on my vehicles.

We ve been taking our Volvo wagon and Honda Odyssey to Eve s Auto for several years for routine maintenance as well as repairs. Jim is a great auto repair technician! Our son now also takes his Volvo sedan to Jim. Jim always provides a full report after he s done his work. He is responsive and keeps us up to date as far as the status of the vehicle as he s working on them. We feel fortunate to have found Eve s Auto and have no complaints about the services!

Jim is an Angel. I was in a bind with my transmission dying on my way to burning man and he helped me out so much. Between what he was able to do for me and the connections he helped me find in a town I was not familiar with, I was able to fix my problem. And all for a very reasonable price. I am so grateful. Thank you Jim.

After taking my car to a Volvo specific auto shop and being estimated a $3000 repair I decided to look for a shop that I could 100% trust. As a female who doesn t know much about cars I am always anxious about getting overcharged simply because I don t know any better. My neighbor recommended Jim and Eves Automotive because he is honest and trustworthy. Jim got my car in immediately and was extremely helpful. His amazing office manager Hannah provided me with daily updates with the progress of my car which was so refreshing and made me feel at ease. He completely the repair at over $2000 less than the other shop along with fixing other minor problems I didn t even have the knowledge of. I ve never had such a positive experience with a mechanic. He even took the time to show me first hand what he fixed inside my car and helped explain why and how these things go wrong. People like Jim give women the ability to not be anxious every time there s something wrong with their car and their boyfriend or father isn t around to help. This place is an absolute gem!!! Service is always courteous. Jim is honest with you about the issue at hand and walks you through your options. I took my car there with a strange (very quiet) noise and he must have taken it for 4 test drives to be sure to diagnose the issue. His assistant Sydnie is fantastic. The is the mechanic that I have been looking for a long time. I highly recommend this business!Service: Brake service & repair

Was on a road trip and my car was making some odd noises that I wanted to get it checked out urgently. Went to this shop as it was closest and met Jim, while he was working on a client's car. Although he was occupied, working on a car, Jim was kind enough to pause what he was doing and give my car a quick inspection! Without any noticeable issues from the eye, Jim really cared about me and wanted to ensure I had a safe trip so he went on a short drive with me to try and experience the problem. With Jim's expertise, he noticed a problem with my car that I thought was normal, and suggested I do specific repairs for the problem! Although I didn't get repairs with him since he was all booked out, and I was on a roadtrip that needed urgent fixes, Jim took his precious time to help me and my car issues! I truly appreciate his empathy and kindness!

Support small local businesses.I m new to the area and came to Jim after a strange interaction with the last person I went to.I will look no further. Jim is amazing!He has great energy, integrity, and was really efficient with communication. His experience makes you feel at ease and he won t suggest anything your car doesn t need.He also introduced me to J&M auto body (Also stellar) across the street for a cracked bumper that was bothering me.Dream team garages! Jim replaced a wheel bearing for me and now my car drives like a brand new car. He is an awesome mechanic who has clearly mastered his craft. He is also honest, honest, honest. He provided me with a completely reasonably detailed estimate and a realistic time line. Then, he came in under the estimated cost and finished early. He is also genuinely nice. I cannot say enough good things about Jim and Eve's Automotive!

I have been to Jim's shop several times. He always has shown genuine concern about my car troubles and goes above and beyond to find the issues. There is true value using a local, knowledgeable mechanic, which I have no problem paying a little more for. He had fixed problems that other chain auto shops have caused. $165 for an oil change on a run of the mill minivan is excessive. I also did not like having to leave the vehicle there all day just for an oil change service. I don't want or need an evaluation of the rest of my vehicle, I just need the oil change. I was looking for a new long-term fleet service relationship but this fellow wouldn't budge on the price even for a less thorough service. I can get an oil change done at a Toyota dealer for only $90 or at the admittedly horrible jiffy lube for $105 or at Midas across the street for $95. so you might say why don't you go there instead? okay fine, I was just trying something new here... I guess that was a bad idea.

I was having issues with a check engine light. Jim at Eve s was able to identify the problem and fix it for a very reasonable rate.He was knowledgeable, honest, friendly and skilled. I d recommend Eve s to any and everyone.

Jim's not only an expert mechanic, he's also one of the nicest, most humble and honest mechanics you will find. I'm pretty sure he's one of a kind. I took my newly purchased used car to him for an inspection before purchase because I knew I could trust him and that he would go above and beyond to make sure I understood every last issue the car had. He did not disappoint. It gave me such peace of mind to hear him tell me it was a good car because he knows his craft and has been doing this a long time. It's an old-school shop: bare bones and one guy because it's all about the cars. What a class act. 10/10.

This is the place to take your car if you want to get the best service from an honest, talented mechanic. I recommend Eve's Automotive to everyone I hear in need of automotive repair. I have taken our vehicles to Jim for repair or inspection of a used vehicle I was about to purchase. Jim is extremely thorough in his work. He feels it is his duty to inform the owner of the facts about their vehicle without the "upsale" pressure...he truly wants the owner to be informed. Having to have your car worked on is not a pleasant thing to do but to have a person like Jim to take care of it is makes everything so much better. You owe it to yourself to check Eve's Automotive out.

Jim was excellent to work with today. I took my car in for an oil change and overall check because I hadn't taken it in a while. He went above and beyond and sent me a very detailed email detailing everything wrong with my car from minor issues to things that needed to be addressed. He gave me multiple options if I wanted to address them. He did not pressure me to do anything that I didn't feel is necessary. I trust him. In addition, he drove around to multiple places to try and find me the parts I needed for my car. He even drove to Davis to get a quote for me on tires even though he wouldn't have made any money off of it. I will never take my car anywhere else and neither should you. If you want honesty professionalism and to support an overall good guy, bring your car to Eve's!

Jim is the MAN!!! One of the few honest mechanics out there.My first experience with Eve s Automotive was when my SUV was making an awful ticking noise on turns. Instead of just checking it in and telling me that he will get back to me, Jim got in the car and made me replicate exactly what was happening. Something I ve never experienced from a mechanic before! He saved me a ton of money when he could have easily went with an expensive and wrong fix.Based on my first experience, when my Prius broke down, I paid extra money to get it towed to Eve s. Thankfully, I made the right choice again! After running the diagnostics on the car, Jim found that my inverter needed to be replaced. Instead of charging me the $4000 plus to replace it, Jim went above and beyond and found that it was possible that it might be under a recent safety recall and recommended that I take it out to Toyota. Toyota found that it was under the recall and that it would have cost around $6000.To say that Jim has my business for LIFE is an understatement! He should have EVERYONE s business. Finding a humble and trustworthy mechanic is beyond value these days. Take your vehicle to Eve s, they will take care of you!!!

Mechanics with integrity like Jim are a rare find. He is so through and honest. As a single mom I have had a bit of a learning curve taking care of my car. Jim is always sure that I know what I need to pay attention to and what is important now as well as what will be important later. Plus you get to support a local business instead of a chain.

Above and beyond service, honest, reasonable price, friendly, and pays attention to details.I will not take my car anywhere else besides to Jim's (Eve's Automotive). He will explain everything that is wrong with your car and provide some sort of recommendation for fix. The only person I trust if something goes wrong with my car. I know Jim for a long time. Always gives it too me straight. Very thorough when checking my car. Been going to him for almost 10 years now. Highly recommend.
