Called Max on a Monday evening at 10 minutes to six with an issue where my young son, on his way to college, traveling with his younger sister had broken down in West Hollywood. I am in Washington state and was quickly becoming a helpless feeling panicked parent. Driving out of temperatures that were hovering just below 100 degrees and heading into temperatures 110+ degrees I knew this was a trip that would challenge my sons car. From time of first contact to having my kids back on the road was less than 1 hour and very reasonably priced for a mobile mechanic. Max found that my son's car had a bad coolant temp sensor and was low on coolant. After the exceptional service I went back and read some of his reviews. I found another reviewer that did not approve of how Max runs his business but this dad can sure appreciate a response such as this. Happy to have been able to make contact with a good human!Thank you Max!

I'm a Dad who owns a repair shop. So, I normally do all the work on my daughters' cars. Unfortunately, one of them is 900 miles away now so not easy for me to help out when her Audi A3 had a problem. Dealer near her was outrageously priced and I needed a guy like me to help out. Max was a perfect fit... experienced and well mannered. He fixed my daughter's car for 1/3 the cost of the dealer and was very kind to my daughter. Now I have a go to guy near her for all her car needs. Thanks Max!Service: Engine repair

I came to Max's with a VW in need of shocks/struts and an oil separator replacement. During the first service, I was advised I would need to have both axles replaced and had those services added. Overall, it was a mixed experience and not a shop I could recommend.The good:-Shocks/struts were replaced without issue-Oil separator was replaced without issue-One axle was replaced without issueThe bad:-The posted photos imply a shop with a garage, but all my interactions took place at an apartment building, which immediately struck me as odd.-After the first service, my car began to drive very poorly (shaking and rattling when accelerating and turning) and ultimately left the shop with worse problems than I started with-Max advised me that the issue was likely the differential and told me he it would be very expensive to fix-After taking the car to another shop, the issue was revealed to be one of the axles Max replaced and/or improper installation. I replaced the axle I purchased from Max, and the car has been driving smoothly since.

Had an oil change on the volkswagon touareg. But ended up breaking the rubber ring around the filter and caused oil to leak out through the engine. Had to bring it to dealership for a costly repair.

10/10 experience and service. Max tested and replaced my battery in 30 minutes. After a terrible 3 day long experience with VW DTLA dealership, Max was a godsend. Here s a tip- get a formal quote/estimate with his name, address, and business information. You won t.Not sure how my previous review was removed but I am fervent about warning people about Max. He is rude, unprofessional, demanding, works out of his apartment illegally, and does shoddy work. I brought my car to him because it needed a new radiator. I paid for the part up front, he installed it days after we agreed, and only attached the hose! Didn t even mount it to the manifold. I had to take my car back to him twice in two weeks from other problems that stemmed from his work and when the radiator problem came up again the next month, he refused to even speak with me. Work is terrible. Even speaking with max is terrible. His operation is illegal and now I know why. He can t stand behind any of his work. I tried to work with him to figure out what went wrong and he demanded more money and stopped answering my calls. Not to mention called me childish names. Insanity. I have reported him to the bureau of automotive repair. I hope they shut him down. I will keep reposting this experience as max keeps trying to take it down.

Max is the real deal!. I would call him a master mechanic for sure. He has been working on cars for over 40 years and really knows what he is talking about. I his prices are VERY fair. (Two other places that I checked gave me higher quotes so I drove 30 minutes from my house to have him do my work. I would definitely recommend him to a friend. I appreciate how he desires to have satisfied customers and would definitely take my cars back to him.

I met with Max last week. Didn t know what to expect. Max explained what he would do and the cost. In under an hour Max was able to get me up and running. He s a solid, no nonsense guy. Just what I was looking for. Honest and able to get the job done. And super great deal from this mechanic. I seriously can t thank him enough. Max is a heck of a friendly guy and really knows his stuff. He dismantles cars and has great prices on parts. If I need something for my cars, he s gonna be the first person to call.I m a VW enthusiast and it is truly hard to find VW/Audi experts that also provide great prices on parts and sage advice.Max hooked it up on some hard-to-find stuff for my older VW and offered some useful education as well. He didn t try to sell me anything I didn t need. We need to support old-school guys like this.I haven t had my vehicles serviced by him yet, so I can t comment on that but I have no doubts about his ability. If you are located in the Valley and need something for your VW/Audi, Max is the guy to call.

Had my fuel pump go bad on an older Hyundai and needed to get it fixed ASAP.Max started working on my car almost right away and went above and beyond of what I expected from any car mechanic. Car runs great now and Max did what was best for my car and my wallet. Highly Recommend!

I took my 2002 VW Canrio to Max to repair some engine trouble. He was happy to answer my questions and spent time explaining my options in detail. He kept me informed via text and phone calls as he progressed and showed me all the faulty parts he replaced. Best of all, he completed the job the very same day! I highly recommend!

Here's my experience. I bought a 2006 VW Jetta off the street. Took it to Max because the transmission was jerking after driving a few miles. Max said doing a flush on the transmission fluid would improve it even though I was pretty insistant on replacing it as I had read he had done before. Instead he pushes for the flush so I go for it, cost me $400. After driving it a while it still felt the same. Max insisted I drive it a while longer to see if it would improve but there was no improvement. Afterwards I took it back to Max and he said he would look into replacing the transmission. It has been months since we last spoke and he has not offered me any information on replacing the transmission.At this point I feel ripped off. Either Max just tried making a quick buck with me, or his doesn't want to take the time to work on cars with big problems. Either way I wish he had been honest with me.

Max came in on a Sunday to fix my car so I could drive back home to Las Vegas that night. He did a great job, and even texted me the next morning to make sure my sister and I made it home without any car trouble. A very nice man, and a great mechanic!

A Man of his word!I made a deal to buy an exhaust system for my TT and he was going to put it on. When I got there he decided that it would be better to have a muffler guy install it so he loaded up the system in his truck and drove to his muffler guy with me and got it handled. I VERY MUCH RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANY WORK OR SERVICE!!

The best place to get your used quality parts at a affordable price. I have driven over 70 miles one way to pick up parts and have never been disappointed. You just can t beat the prices and Max is very knowledgeable.

Very knowledgeable, knew how to quickly fix a VW Beetle shifting problem that others were unsure/unwilling to tackle, kept me updated with texts and for a reasonable rate, call for arrangements.
