Locally owned and operated. Always treated well and no nonsense. Fair pricing. Honest owner just trying to make an honest living. As long as I have an internal combustion engine vehicles, I will bring them here to get smogged.

Great price for my "Classic" 1997 Toyota Camry. Gordon is straightforward, no hidden fees. Lots of smog test shops look cheap but up chargjng you "in fine print" based on the age of the vehicle. He does work promptly and is very friendly. I value his honesty and have been doing business with him for several years.

I wish I had gone to my regular place (they were too busy). This visit resulted in too much hassle and too much money. The tech could not find the number on my cat converter so I paid $79 for a failed test. I had to go home call the seller of the cat, find out the number was on top (admittedly difficult to find-but the tech is supposed to be a pro and I be never had an issue at my other place), return and tell him where to look. He found it in 5 seconds then charged me another $50 to properly run the test. Took 4 hours and $130 and a bit of stress.

Gordon is a very nice guy. Got an oil change from him once and I used to work with him occasionally when I worked for Jaguar Land Rover down the street. Overall I felt good about my choice to use this smog certification center. I found Gordon's shop on google maps and compared their price points with that of other star certified smog centers. This place was the most affordable for my 1990 Honda Accord. One thing that I did not ask in my search for a smog center was if the cost of retest was included in the case that my car did not pass the first time. If you are worried about your vehicle not passing smog, be sure to ask if that's included in their pricing. Gordon took about 5 hours with my vehicle which was expected as he explained the older cars require more tests and therefore take longer to complete the smog. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because he changed a part of my vehicle without my consent and charged me for it when I went to pick up my vehicle. He had changed the gas cap for me during the smog and did not inform me that he would be doing that. When he called to let me know the vehicle was ready he could have mentioned it. He did not. When I arrived to pay and pick up, he charged me $17 for the gas cap, which is a bit of a rob seeing as most caps (oil,fluids, gas, etc) are between $5-$10. All in all, it was the most affordable smog center near me and Gordon provided a good time expectation and smog certification. However, I did not appreciate the up charge of a gas cap and changing something to the vehicle that I did not consent to. Would still return again with the preface that I would like to be informed of all issues, surprises, and changes to the service rendered.Service: Smog certification

I've been going to Gordon for all my cars all over the years...He is the best in Walnut Creek. Very honest! Some might be cheaper but they will reap you off of extra work. Gordon is true and nice!
