These guys are great. They dont overcharge for things that are not needed. They keep you updated with their progress and the price is extremely fair. The only negative is that it is hard to park because they are always busy. Even so, they will have my business now and as long as they stay in business.

This guys are honest and they know what they are doing. This is the first time I visit a mechanic and feel that I can trust in them. Thay are on it, they get back to you right away and their prices are very fear. I 100% recommend this place!

I absolutely love Ted's!You don't need an appointment; you can show up first thing in the morning - though I'd make one if you're in a rush.They're always very fair about their pricing, and I've never had issues with any of the work I've had done on my cars. They'll work at it until they've fixed the issue or try to send you to a fair business that can help (if some sort of specialized work is needed).They also will look at your car for free and tell you what's needed and you can purchase parts and bring them in yourself which saves on cost too. Definitely give them a try!

Definitely a dying breed. This Mom and Pop operation of 40+ years is still thriving! Factoring in their commitment to quality work at affordable rates, stellar customer service and being completely trustworthy, the reseipe is solid for another 40+ years of service.

Engaged and professional, Ted and his son Glen really care about the end product and see things through to completeness. Definitely not the lowest price point but it's the best service and Quality Parts that you can trust in. Thank you to the entire team of men and women at Ted's for taking care of my car.

I've brought my vehicles to Ted's Garage for over 25 years, back before he moved to his current location. Ted and his son Glenn are the most honest and knowledgeable mechanics I've been known. I've referred family and friends here as well and many of them have remained life long customers as well. Ted and Glenn have even shown me how I could fix simple problems so that I could save money by doing it myself. Finally, if for some reason they can't do the job, they're happy to refer you to a specialist that can. I highly recommend them.

Ted's garage did outstanding work on my daughter's front suspension and all shocks. They are honest, fair and charge reasonable prices for their work. It's the only place I take our vehicles to for work.

**RECOMMEND** They are experienced, perceptive, and efficient technicians and will treat you like a friend of many years. I went in first time with no appt and they made the time to help listen, diagnose and fix my vehicles issue. I had the pleasure of meeting Glen and Gerardo here. They have a made me a loyal customer, I will be back with future automotive needs.Update**Brought in a new to me truck for brake bleed, transmission fluid change, power steering flush. All came out well with fair prices. Truck drives amazing. They have my recommendation.Update**Called and brought the truck in cause it was making some squeaking noise. They looked it over and determined it was a loose nut on my suspension. Didn't charge me for diagnosis. Amazing people to work with.

Great customer service, price and follow through. They truly follow this manifesto every time I walk through the doors. They replaced my alternator and even a broken strut (no extra charge for strut). Best auto repair shop in San Diego County.

Thank You Ted's Garage especially Glenn, Who went above and beyond to what could of been my alternator on my 06 Tundra, but ended up being my fuse box that was blown. These guys are great, and a long standing Chula Vista institution that s been here since before I was born.I ve used them for general maintenance, inspection on cars before buying them, and today I went with this piece coming off the bottom of my car and they didn t even charge me.Can t say enough nice things.Service: General repairs & maintenance

When my Melstang needs a doctor.... this is where she gets Fixed. The guys working here are soooo knowledgeable and Kind !Not very many mechanics serve both at the same time. Glenn is the best mechanic with terrific Employee's !If you want Integrity served with Honesty... Well then. This is the place for You !

This garage was a rare find. We had failed a smog test and they were recommended to us by Mason's Garage in IB. Well let me say, they didn't disappoint us. They were very fair in what it cost to get our 17y.o. truck to pass. It took 24 hrs to get the part ordered , delivered, installed and we were on our way. Very very nice people. I would highly recommend this business.

Had been taking my business fleet to Ted's for years and I've sent many people their way. Always very honest, fast, and a pleasure to deal with. In the last six months, EVERYTHING has changed. Since Mike left we've never had a good experience and they seem to change staff weekly (all treating us like an inconvenience). Several times they recommended expensive repairs that did not fix problems, (full charge though). Recently found out we were billed for major work that was never done. - Go elsewhere.Services: A/C services, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Vans and light trucks

I went there to see if they could figure out what was wrong with my electronic suspension on my 2008 Denali and Glenn the owner was such a big help he stop working on the car and help me out and figure out what was the problem. Great mechanic great customer service I will not go anywhere else.

Ted's garage has been around for a long time and was first recommended by my father. We have an older Chevy and a 2013 Toyota Camry and we always choose Ted's garage for their great prices and service. They are so honest that one time I took my car in and thought the radiator was going bad. Without even charging me, they replaced the radiator cap while I was parked in their driveway, and sent me on my way. Ted's will always drive you home while you are waiting for your car to be fixed then pick you up when it's ready.Services: Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Brakes, Air conditioning, Battery, Oil change

So after today I have a lot to say. My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years. We stopped coming here regularly about a year ago. Things all changed when mike no longer worked in the office. Derrick the guy who has been in the office has jacked up prices and always seems to find something new that s wrong with my car. Earlier in the year he quoted me at 1k in repairs so I went else where. For my oil leak and brakes/ rotors to be fixed I got them fixed for $600 else where. This already had me reluctant to come back. Today I went back for a smog and oil change. I got there 5-10 mins after opening and Derrick says I ll be right with you. 15 minutes pass he sits back down and asks if I ve been helped? Yet he is the person to check people in. He then proceeds to tell me it ll take an hour to finish. I wait on my phone and the next 2 customers who come in are offered rides for having to wait yet I was not offered one? Derrick then tells me that I need a new air filter, rotors and tires. Like I stated earlier I got brand new rotors in February. I got my air filter, smog and oil check, then went straight to my new mechanic. He checked all of them and a neighboring mechanic also checked and confirmed they are perfectly fine and Derrick had been trying to scam me. Everyone here was always awesome and it s a shame to see it go this way. I could never recommend this place to anyone anymore.

Took my car in for repair. I was told it was not worth fixing. My car is now 21 yrs old. I had taken it to other places for repair and my check engine light kept coming back on. It was just repair after repair. Ted's place finally told me that it's really not worth putting more money into it. I always tried keeping it in good running condition.

Ted's garage can be an experience to manuever your car into the driveway while your ride is circling or waiting for your call, with that being said, I called and they got me right in. My issues were a rear electric window that would not go back up and a schedule would change. They have always been honest with me, (as far as I know!) In addition to the work we discussed I also had a headlight out so we got that taken care of also.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great service. Wether you need a smog check or your brakes replaced, these guys do it all in a timely manner.

If you bring a vehicle in to be repaired in order to pass a smog check, DO NOT GET A SMOG CHECK HERE! They told me they would do it for free after I brought my car in for repairs so I did. After they completed the smog check, they said I owed $58 for the test and that "since they already did the test, I had to pay or they would keep my car" when I brought up that they said they'd do a free check they said that they never offered a free smog check but instead they "would check to make sure it passed the smog check for free"I could have gotten a $20 retest at the smog check center that originally did my smog check but these guys were misleading.And on top of it all, despite giving a military discount on the repair, they refused to give a discount when they obviously misled me.
