I have an older vehicle having trouble passing smog. The guys there with there vast experience was able to get my vehicle smogged. They are outstanding!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This place has phenomenal prices for smog checks! My wife and I went to two different smog checking shops before coming here and this by far was the cheapest. We were in and out of there in 15 minutes! I would highly recommend this place if anyone is looking to do a quick and legit smog check.

I called to make sure they were available and headed straight to them. My experience went as followed:I parked my carThey greeted me and gave me the forms to fill out.10 min passed.They were done, I payed $38 for my 2003 Audi A4 and I got my smog check paperwork.That s it simple sweet and fast.Thank you for being super fast and efficient. I really appreciate the professionalism.

Came here yesterday for a last minute smog for my vehicle and Tommy was quick, efficient, and was a pleasure to work with! I came in when there were others there he was definitely a knowledgeable person and can handle himself under pressure. Luis was able to get me my new registration same day and helped me avoid penalties. Thanks guys!

Went to get a smog checked and register my vehicle. Registration workers weren't there and when I asked what day they'd return, they said no idea.

The car was ready to pass smog those people are rude and don t care about you I ending loosing $60 I took my car somewhere else and pass the smog in no time don t waste your time and money with those thieves

Super fast! Sales agents explains everything in detail. Ruben was able to catch a glitch that I would of got me in trouble if pulled over. Thank you to the team. They are also bilingual. No bathrooms come prepared.

Excellent fast service and fair pricing. One of my 4 catalytic converters were tripping the check engine light. Diagnosed the issue, replaced one catalytic converter and issued the smog certificate. Highly recommend this shop. Jesse is so polite and his staff reflects how good they are at treating their customers and finish whatever service you need for your car. This review comes after a second visit to this place. 2 years ago, I took my Jeep to a place where it failed but since it was a Test Only place they were not able to make the necessary repairs so I was referred to B&J. From the moment I pulled up I was greeted by the owner with a great attitude and the prices were reasonable. They made the repairs needed to pass the Smog Test so I was very please. Now that my car was due for another smog test, I decided to go back and my experience was just as pleasant. Not only the owners but the staff was also very helpful, maybe not as friendly and pleasant but very efficient and helpful. Towards the end I interacted with the owner to pay and get paperwork and he did not disappoint, always with a smile and a great attitude. I am not surprised this business is always busy. Don't think about it twice, your car will be in good hands at B&J.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Smog certification

Update: It is very unfortunate that I have to change this review, as I sincerely thought I had found the place to take care of all of my car needs/issues, but that was sadly not the case. After running into issues with the EVAP hose once again after only 2-3 months of repair, I came in understandingly to try and get the issue resolved and to have the clutch of my vehicle fixed. After having an unpleasant interaction with Jesse's staff and finally getting in touch with him to resolve the issue, I was told to leave my vehicle over the weekend to get it fixed. I agreed, waited for the time requested and was told the vehicle was ready. Once I drove it back home, it again, began to give a lot of issues as if it had not been repaired at all. I understandably took the vehicle back along with my S/O with what was basically a dead clutch, and felt very irritated with the experience and worried that my vehicle would not be properly fixed. As soon as my S/O and I showed the slightest (and fair) expression of irritation with the trouble we had gone through with the vehicle, Jesse and his staffs' customer service went straight out the window with the next interactions that took place. Starting with his staff, who would not listen to our needs and concerns while answering in a sarcastic/condescending manner, followed by Jesse, saying crass things like, "and what do you want me to do about it?" as well as insultingly telling my S/O, "just shut up man, you complaining won't fix anything" as if we had not already gone through enough with the dangers and stress of bringing back a vehicle with what was basically a dead clutch.

Went to Firestone and was quoted at $1240 for an over heating problem. BJ auto did the exact same thing for $741.They are known in the southbay as a top mechanic shop. Trustworthy business and peopleAlso, smog is cheapest in town.

I got a registration renewal for my car and I needed to take it to a STAR smog station to fulfill the renewal. So I looked on the all-powerful interweb and quickly found a qualified technician and smog facility at B & J Smog in Chula Vista, the B & J is for Broadway and J Street methinks , easy to remember anyway, and even faster to easily find at aforementioned location.So I pulled into a rather small parking area for various car-related businesses besides B & J, found a spot to park and was quickly greeted by Victor Zermeno . I indicated that I needed to have a STAR smog check to complete my registration asap if possible so I could get on with my days chores, AND I had my wife, 2 grown kids, and 2 beautiful grandkids in the car with me at the time. So anyway, he says pull on up and pop the hood and he got right to work on smogging my car....so happy . It didn't take more than 10-15 minutes and I passed with no problems. I have a big Dodge Durango, which qualifies as a large vehicle (no problem there), paid a VERY fair price of $58 with all the bells and whistles included, and was out the door and on my way in only minutes.One of my better business experiences I've had in a while, refreshing to say the least, and left with a smile on my face for the rest of the day. Give 'em a try if you live in the area, they are right next to the Goodwill store on Broadway.Really!!

Super quick and courteous service, been using this smog service for about 5 years. If your car can pass (no exhaust gas issues) you'll be in and out in less than 30min. At $38 out the door it's one of the most affordable places around.

Fast and prompt service. I called around 11:30am and asked when would be the best time to come in. I was told either morning or mid-afternoon (not around lunch time) was probably best , first come first serve. I called at 2:30pm and was told there was no wait to be seen. I drove right over and my car was immediately taken in by the tech. Front desk was pleasant. Price was reasonable ($38, 29.99 + 8 for the certificate). I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. This was a no-frills place (4 seats, in front of a fan), but it was clean. Much less painful than some other smog checks I have been to!

Incompetent smog tech. Failed my diesel truck due to a onboard air compressor that has absolutely nothing to do with the engine or emissions and doesn't realize that for my year truck you're allowed a couple sensors out (per carbs website). Then he charged me for a failure. Would never go back.

I 100% recommend this shop for emissions testing and smog testing for certification. I approached this place in a very vulnerable place in my life. The owner went above and beyond professionally and he was able to monitor if I would actually pass before charging me. After the service was completed (fastest I ve ever been smog certified with certificate in hand) I went to pay and the owner empathetically said, this is my way of helping you . Very kind! Professional! Speedy! Thank you so much sir!!! I will be returning for my repairs in the near future!!Services: Smog certification, Emissions testing

Alfonso and Jesse were so awesome! I m from Nashville and I was in and out of getting my car registered and smoged within the hour! They were very nice and professional! Very honest! This place is the best!! I was just stopping by to ask about their prices and everything went fluently from there on. Jesse gave me a great deal and he was very honest about what had to be done with my car, this made me feel very comfortable because being a girl I don't know a lot about cars and prices. He has an awesome customer service and I was able to get out of there in less than 15 minutes. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants an honest response regarding their car and looking for great deals.

I am very satisfied with the smog check service my car got done here. I get most of my services done in LA. After reading other reviews on Yelp and Google, I decided to walk-in. That's correct, I did not make an appointment. I just walked in and was able to get my car checked out.When I arrived, I was greeted immediately by Issa and asked to wait while they finished with another customer. While I waited, another customer got his car back and was surprised his smog test took less than the time he was quoted. I was in and out within 20 minutes and that's just because they got a bit busier after I arrived. My car passed the smog test and I was very happy I chose B&J Auto Repair.Super nice guys, excellent price, and great customer service. I will definitely be back when I need my car to get smog tested in the future.
