Pep Boys in West Covina (Amar Rd) is my go-to auto repair shop. They have always been consistent with their service as far as friendly service, accurate diagnosing of my car issues, and care/detail of fixing the problem. I especially appreciate Robert and Jorge for always taking care of my car needs and having a pleasant attitude. I never felt like they pushed selling me extra services. They address the main issue and whatever the customer decides to do, they are respectful of that. Since this location is very busy often, there have been times that the wait time for the completion of your car repair may take a while, but in my experience, it s definitely worth it. They have never rushed with my car and I can always tell that they take their time to make sure what is needed is done correctly. I truly appreciate the service at this Pep Boys and I will continue to be a loyal customer. Thank you Robert and Jorge!

Went in to repair a nail in tire. My husband was in the car industry for many years and have knowledge that the position of the nail on the tire is completely repairable. The tech immediately saw an opportunity to sell a high-end tire and said the tire was not repairable but can sell me a new tire. Of course we declined and took it to an HONEST tire place and had it repaired, which took about 15 minutes. Be aware of dishonesty at this location! Get a second opinion!

I came to do a ride share vehicle inspection. It took a few minutes to get helped but once someone was with me they provided great customer service.I was quoted a wait time of around 45-60 minutes but only waited about 35 so not too bad.Overall the staff was friendly and professional.

They helped me so much!! I was going to go to Costco and they were going to charge me $770 without alignment for four new tires and pep boys charged me 734$ with new tires and alignment. Their service was truly so kind and patient. They explained to me how the warranty works and if I get a nail, what to do and where on the tire I would qualify. Robert helped me with customer service and Gustavo was the technician. Thank you so much!

It was easy setting up an appointment for an oil change. As I waited for the job to be done, I was informed that I needed to replace my front brakes. It was all done in a timely manner, including rotating my tires and topping off all of my fluids! The men that work the "desk" are friendly and helpful. Thank you!

I took my car for brakes, and I was charged over $500 for parts, and labor. After that my car was having trouble stopping at high speed in the freeway. Very scary experience in my whole life. I took it back, and they said it was the rotors, and drums. That replacement cost me another $523, and my car had the same issue. Took it back one last time, and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with my car, but they would be able to change the brake cylinder for an additional price (apparently not related to the previous job). Of course I decided to take my car somewhere else. I was told by the mechanic who finally fixed the issue to take the parts back, and filed a complaint with BARR. Got only half of my money back. Really disappointed. Will spread the word among neighbors, friends, and family. Stay safe on the roads.

I was on my way home and went through a large puddle while it rained heavily. I didn't notice anything wrong until a few minutes later when the rain started letting up. A HORRIBLE scraping noise. The guys at Pep Boys on Amar Rd in West Co were nice enough to remove the under carriage cover and replace the pins so my car will be safe to drive while we wait for the replacement part and only charged me for the cost of the pins. I've been a customer of theirs since I first got my license (sooo long ago) and will continue to be, because I know they can be counted on for great car service and great customer care. Thanks guys!!

This rating is specifically geared towards pepboys in long beach ca on the Pasific Coast Highway. I believe they put used brakes on my car and switch out my two front tires. In February of 2023 I had four brand new tires and my brakes were shiny, no rust. In April car brake light came on. Took car to pepboys on PCH and purchase four new rotors and four brake pads. They took about six to seven, maybe eight hours to finish car. In between time they had all four wheels off. Then three guys came to me with the car and one rudely said, "take your car, if you do not want brake you must take your car. Another said, you can save money and come back". The whole interaction was weird. couple months later I notice that two front tires do not look as new as two back tires. Four wheel drive tires should have all same worn. Today front tires are worn down and Two back tires looks new. I have photos to prove all four tires were new in Feb. before I took to pch pepboys in April.The brakes never felt new. I felt no resistance while braking and the peddle go down for a while before brake feel like it is grabbing.Ever since after I got all new rotors and brake pads for a little over $1400 my car two back brake appear rust and passenger side squeal like crazy.Took it back to pepboys on PCH in October and they just gave car back without any explanation. Four months later hear the squealing while braking. Took it to pepboys in West Covina. They had the best treatment of all pepboys I have ever visited. The guy told me on back passenger brake a nub came loose over time and he tighten it. I hear no noise after leaving the location. However, couple days later the squeal came back. Now I have to go in again to find and correct the problem.I am really sad and tired dealing with mean and untrustworthy machanics.

I m a lead fleet maintenance worker for a third party contracted by Amazon at the DAX 5 station and we have been bringing our fleet Vehicles to this location for the past 3 years for tires, oil changes, tire rotations and brakes. Jorge, Mike, and Robert have been helping our company by getting our vans road ready, with great communication and spotting issues on their inspections. They have been giving us phenomenal turn around times on getting our vans, So that our drivers can continue delivering for amazons customers. Definitely recommend coming to this location. They have gained our trust and business and we are glad that we will continue to come to this pepboys location.

Not even a 1 star. Made an appt time for 1 pm. Not taken to a service bay until 2:25. Then I am just told they dont have the tires I purchased here at this store despite their system saying this is where they were. I only made an appt with this store based on what their inventory system said. What a disappointment. Poor service. Sorry Pep Boys.

My first experience here was not very pleasant and I was feeling kind of disappointed by the third time I had to keep coming back to the store to fix the same issue due to the part replaced was found defective, but thankfully, Robert rescued me from this misery, he was always attentive and ensured that I had the service I paid for. He was really patient and professional with me during all my visits, which provided me with excellent service in the end. I am satisfied that he tried his best to find the best solution to the problem in my car, and that he himself offered to fix my car even though he was a busy person since the technician was not available that day. In my opinion, the fact that he tried everything he could until the very end to fix my car shows that he cares for his customers. Overall, it was an excellent service, and my car came out perfectly repaired.

Pep Boys has great prices, but the performance of the work can be someone lacking especially if the problem repeats they seem to not care to recheck or fix the repeated problem although short time lapses. You have to be very diligent to take your vehicle back to several mechanic reviews and do it right after because you must get their immediate attention. My vehicle had suspension issue, I paid alot of money to repair but now still continued problem - It is frustrating to see the lack of care or concern once they have your money.

I had great experience Mike was extremely helpful and professional. He told me that I needed brakes and a new rear tire as soon as possible because of the safety issue. Also Roger the Mechanic spoke with me personally and explained the safety uses as well. I felt better knowing this Because I just came in for an Uber Inspection and got so much more now I know even need a tune up. Thanks guys you were informative and knowledgeable much appreciated.

Honestly disappointed with this location. I came in for a simple oil change and then they started opening up and looking into other parts of my car. I watched the guy digg in my glove box and leave it a mess. The mechanics just goof off and waste time. I dropped my car off at 9:30 and they said 45mins & it was 2 hours later. Jorge kept adding stuff that needed to be replaced and said my battery was completely dead. Funny when I left and went to auto zone they said it was fine. Jorge just wanted 200$ extra. I feel like I was almost taken advantage of and that s so sad. There s a lot more I can say from just 1 visit. But save your $ and go to a better TRUSTWORTHY place.

Be very cautious of quoting practices as I felt like a bait and switch was unfortunately performed on me today. I was charged nearly 5x my original quoted rate for a non essential service (faulty battery in tire pressure monitor). When originally quoted the service advisor quoted a rate that only applied to one tire and not the total (even though I specifically asked for a total rate). Service advisor did attempt to offer a discount for extra work performed (extra work that was not approved AND they originally wanted to charge me for btw) but this is still significantly more than what was originally quoted. Not happy with this service at all.

So I'm getting tired here at pep boys. I just came here to get my lift updated on my inspection which everything was fine but they found some stuff wrong so I'm getting brand new tires this was at 9:15 in the morning it is now 10:45 in the morning they've had my car up on the lifter they have only taken one tire off they have not put any tires on any of the rims yet cuz all three of the tires are still on my car.

I traveled all the way from Long Beach to this location, as they were the only ones in SoCal who had the tires I needed. After installation of two new tires, one of the tires sprang a leak at the bead and went flat overnight. Thankfully, Robert and Jorge are true professionals, who genuinely care about their customers. They fit me in their schedule same day, swapped the tire out for a new one under the warranty (no questions asked), and balanced my other two tires at a discount. Thanks guys!
