Well we called him for service. His attitude over the phone was like he could care less about our problem with our car. It would have been nice to have a local known mechanic to look at our vehicle. Very sad after living here my whole life. someone else was able to fix our car. Thank God!

My family has used Robs Remedies for many years, he has always been a trusted advisor on car repairs. Rob always explains the situation and honestly tells us if an older car is worth repairing. Having used many car repair facilities prior to Rob's Remedies - I really appreciate having an honest, faith filled man to work on our cars. From our 67 Mustang, 87 Subaru, 97 Toyota, and 2008 Suburban he repairs them all.

Rob Wiggins and his crew fixed my classic mustang by replacing the generator with an alternator. Their expertise in wiring left me impressed and led me to take my second vehicle to them. I returned with a noise in my wife s Honda Odyssey. They quickly diagnosed the problem. Bad serpentine belt and loose tensioner. It was returned to me the same day. I dropped off the van around mid morning so I was pleasantly surprised to get it back the same day. Fair prices, friendly service, honest mechanics. Don t go anywhere else. Thanks guys

Highly recommend Rob's Remedies. Red and his brother (Rob's sons), and Rob himself, are some of the nicest people you'll meet. Super honorable in what they do and show real care for their clientele. Have used their services twice now for repairs on an older work van and both times got me in and serviced immediately, did an amazing job taking care of what needed to be done with no bs, and did it for less than I could have found elsewhere. Grateful to have found themServices: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

If you're looking for a mechanic I would highly recommend Rob's remedies for your car repairs. He explained everything in detail so you would completely understand the problem and diagnosis. We had two cars fixed there recently and were completly satisfied with the results and the fair prices.

Rob explains things well so you know how to treat your car and what to expect. He s honest and doesn t take advantage of your situation. He carefully researches the situation before recommending solutions. If I lived near Ventura, I d use Rob for all my auto repair needs for which he is capable. My relatives have used Rob for years and had nothing but good to say about him. Keep reading if you d like to know how I came to this conclusion when I live in another state.I was visiting Ventura for a family event from out of the state. My 2004 Nissan Quest shut off while I was driving and the Service Engine Soon light came on. I started the car again and it shut off again after another mile. I was near a Sears Auto Center so I got the car started again and pulled in and asked them to take a look. They charged $80 and took about 2.5 hours to read the computer code and guess the cause. The computer indicated that the Camshaft Position Sensor had gone bad or was detecting a problem and shutting the car down. However, since the car ran fine when I restarted it, they suggested that the sensor needed replacement. They also said that my valve cover gasket on one side was spewing oil all over the sensor. They thought that the oil residue was causing the sensor to act up. They recommended a replacing the valve cover gaskets, sensor, spark plugs, quoted me $977 and said they could do it the next day. (I was scheduled to drive home that day.) I asked why so much and they said that they would need do a lot of work just to access the bad sensor and the valve covers. I asked if they could show me the issue. I was able to reach the sensor and wipe part of it off. I suggested that if it was spewing oil, then it might be low and asked how much oil they added. They hadn t checked it. I suggested that knowing how low the oil was would be helpful in diagnosing the problem. So I asked them to top it off and let me know how much it oil it took. I decided that this wasn t the place, where I was going to have that kind of work done and asked them to check me out. While I paid my $80, they drove the car around. So they didn t tell me how much oil they added.I called my local cousins and they suggested I talk with their mechanic, Rob of Rob s Remedies. We discussed my problem at length and he said that some oil on the sensor would not cause the problem, but that it was either correctly detecting an issue or had gone bad. That made sense to me so I brought it in. My car drove better as I drove to Rob s, so I was thinking that the oil was the problem. Rob checked the computer code and looked it over well. The code was indeed the one reported by Sears. Rob kept checking the oil. (BTW: The dipstick on this particular engine is hard to read, especially when the car is warm.) In the end he added 3 full quarts (engine holds 4.25 quarts). Given that, I suppose Sears added only one quart so I had nearly nothing when the engine shut off. Rob cleared the code, wrote it down for me and explained just how the computer works with the sensors. He said that if the sensor was bad, then I would see the Service Engine Soon light after 2 or three starts. He also explained that this would result in a hard start. He explained how the computer can cause a hard start in this situation. Finally, he said I should get home fine, gave me a couple quarts of oil and recommended I check it in the morning and periodically on my trip. As did Sears, Rob knew my constraints. Rather than taking advantage, he focused on determining if I could drive home safely and how to make that possible. As it turned out, the car had started losing oil at the rate of about .5 quarts/1000 miles shortly after my last oil change. I made it home and as I drove home the engine light did come on. Armed with the explanation from Rob, I understood what was happening and was able to continue safely and with confidence.Turns out the problem was a PCV valve stuck open causing oil consumption and pressure in the crankcase causing gasket leakage in addition to the faulty sensor.
