From day 1 these guys said and did all the right things to make me feel good about leaving my Mk 4 Jetta GLI in their care. They came highly recommended from another great shop, and it feels like I have found the inner circle of quality as their recommendations have been on point. A big point to consider is that Gabe (the owner) personally owns the same vehicles- both as an enthusiast, and also his daily drivers as what he focuses on professionally.You gotta get on the schedule, which may be a couple weeks away, and after our initial pre appointment consultations, we were able to come up with budget conscious game plans that fit within my wants and needs, and were able to complete work intelligently and in stages to fit my budget. Upon delivering my car for the appointment, he already had all parts necessary waiting. Upon completion, which was either right on schedule or ahead of schedule, I was happy to find that the cost was below the original estimate. Communication was excellent during the entire process, and I was provided updates and pictures. Work that I thought needed to be done was unnecessary allowing for other things to be addressed. My point is that this shop is transparent in all of its work and it shows. Under estimate, on time or better, honest, and awesome communication. I will be bringing my vehicle back for all of its needs and you should too.One final thanks to the crew here, I am super grateful to have found this shop, and see you soon!

OMG I'm so glad these guys are close by. Brought my 2015 GTI in for 80K service and from everything I can see they did the work perfectly and the price was fair. Most importantly they didn't try to gouge me for service that wasn't required like some other shops have done (i.e. $100s for a brake service when just looking at the fluid and measuring the pads is sufficient). We need more VW mechanics like these guys; real pride in what they do, deep technical competence.

Honestly the best service I've had at any auto shop. Broke down from out of town with a vintage vw. They were able to get parts, do the work (at a more than fair cost) and walk us through what was done and what to watch for in less than a day. Absolutely incredible! If you need quality service and don't want to break the bank for it, AG is the place to go!

Could not say enough good things about these guys- WOW. We're from far out of town, broke down nearby and had our Vanagon towed to their shop after-hours in March, and they got to it the next day, showed us what to look for on the roadtrip home, and got some spare parts. Gave us a ride downtown to wait for them to finish up even. At the end of the day we were on the road headed back to Montana, practically in tears how well Gus and Gabe treated us. Best service we've ever had- by FAR.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

This little shop is a bit of a dream come true for VW owners in Ventura County. Gabe and Gus were simple and fast to quote, schedule, and perform service. Gus went out of his way to arrange transport for me, while Gabe was honest in assessing services the car didn't yet need, but for which in the future I will absolutely return to AG Autowerks. I wish I would have gone here for the first time years ago!Services: Transmission, Brakes, Oil change

These guys kick ass!!! Andy and Gabe are beyond knowledgeable with these old air cooled Volkswagen's. After my cousin had nothing but good things to say about them checking out his newer Audi... I knew I had to visit them at their new location in Ventura!They took great care and went above and beyond with my 1962 VW Bug. Car runs better than ever!! VERY fair, completely honest and just plain 'ol good guys!! I will be going there for any service my old Beetle needs and highly recommend them to ANYONE looking for a new or old school automotive mechanic shop in the area!Thanks again AG Autowerks for the excellent service!!

Andy and Gabe are incredible!I think Albert Einstein said "if you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough" - The depth of knowledge these guys have and willingness to explain what's going on with your vehicle is amazing. Both are certified master mechanics who truly love VW/Audi's and it shows.I've been taking my cars here for about a year and they always explain what's going on, what it will take to fix it, what I can due to get by and how long before it will be a big problem. I think they have recommend I wait on a fix as often as they have recommended I bite the bullet. They obviously understand that a customer for life will spend a lot more money with them than pressuring sales and unneeded repairs.Well you got a customer for life guys! I even take the wife's Hyundai here because I trust them way more than the dealership. Rereading this, it really sounds like a shameless plug, I guess I'll take it down if you all start flooding the schedule and I can't get a spot haha

I'm always iffy about mechanic especially trying new ones that I just read reviews, but Gabe and Gus made me feel like I knew them since forever. They didn't overcharged me for "extra work" I didn't need and knew what they doing when working on my Audi A4.

These guys are solid mechanics who know their way around VWs. After purchasing a 93 Eurovan in Arizona, I made an appt with AG to replace the timing belt on my drive back to Oregon. They got me in and out quickly. Customer service was excellent. Unfortunately about six months later the belt tensioner started to growl. Gabe responded immediately to my email, helped me find a replacement tensioner online, and paid for the part. Wish there was a shop like this in Portland.

No doubt the best place in town. I did try 2 other garage in Ventura and nothing compare to here.Tell you the exact thing and did a great job on my Rialta '97. Gabe and his team are the best.

Andy and team did a great job on repairing my 1970ish dune buggy. He made sure the major issues/safety concerns were fixed and gave recommendations for future upgrades.

I don't usually give below 5 star reviews but this place was (1) unorganized and (2) lacked customer communication. I would not feel comfortable giving them my car again.
