This is how you lose business. I have been coming here for years now to get my oil change and every time I get a tire rotation with my service. Today was the second time the guy refused to rotate the tires because they have cracks (they don't they are 1 year old) because the owner is trying to sell new tires to customers and make more money. So I have recommended this place to so money people and brought this place a lot of business. Not any more this place is all about making money.

Amazing staff at this Location starting with the service manager Fred. He approached me, taking his time to listen to my issue with sincerity. Fred was extremely friendly and he makes you feel you are in good hands. Martha at the desk is very friendly and helpful. This location is very clean a lot of parking space to park your car and wait and the service was extremely fast.My issue was taken care of in less then 1 hour. One of the best shops in the valley, will definitely be coming back here again.

I went to Pep boys shop in Van Nuys next to Costco on March 13, 2024. One of the tires had very low pressure. After checking I ve been told it wasn t fixable and needed a new tire immediately. I couldn t buy a new one at that day.Next day I went to Ron s tires place. For $30 in less in an hour the tire was fixed,I felt Pep boys employee was pushing me to buy a new one instead of repairing.I do not recommend this place.

I started to have a leak in one of my tires. I drove immediately to my local Pep Boys.Although I did not have an appointed the intake person was friendly and understanding. Service was fast and painless.The facility is super clean including the bathroom. I think you could eat off the floors.Overall 5 star rating. Totally impressed!

My car was fixed promptly at the agreed time.I am so pleased by the prompt and excellent service.Thank you so much! Honest and transparent.Not trying to up sell you into anything.Knowledgable and prompt .I had my Range Rover in for a second opinion, My wife brought her Range Rover in for a simple oil change. She got a quote from Big O Tires in Tarzana $2900. They tried to upsell her for more than an Oil change,, I called then and they told me that she needed- in addition to an Oil change, both front and rear brakes., which was $1785. So the other $1115 was to replace oil and filters, replace brake fluid, replace coolant, cabin Filter and air filter .Which was all an overpriced up sell.I said that I felt like they tried to take advantage of my wife. And the guy was not apologetic and kept trying to convince me that the price at the dealership was even more. Which it is that s why I took it to Big O. But his price was still a ripoff.So the next day I took it in to PepBoys.I told them this story and they checked my car and the first thing they said was you don t need front brakes replaced you just need the Rear break pads the guy at Big O told my wife that all my brakes were metal on metal . Pep Boys said my front pads had 60% left, and that there was no reason to replace them now. Pep Boys price was only $653 including tax.And they warranted the rear brakes for 24 month or 24k miles. And Free replacement pads for the life of the car.You can only know if car repairs are honestly quoted by getting a second opinion.Take it to any Pep Boys first or for a second opinion. You will be happy you did.And from now on I plan to bring all my cars to Pep Boys.

Had work done on my ford, no complaint about it they did what they needed to do to fix the pressing issue but... always there is "something" else wrong so after paying $800 they fixed gaskets, thermometer, and coolant reservoir plus the coolant flush which they didn't charge for, nice people. On to the secondary problem another 800 was requested because the fan assembly was bad supposedly. Told them to put everything back together and I'll pay for what's done. After some homework I found that most people recommend replacing the fan control module, which was not an option presented by this shop, it cost me $27 bucks from Amazon I replaced it myself in about 20 minutes and the fan worked again. So like most mechanics in the world they are still untrustworthy and will attempt to gouge you for simple work I saved myself 99% of the cost by telling them no and to be honest j probably won't go back here or to any pep boys. Still get 3 stars for being decent people but they are just as much of liars as people are. So let them do an inspection and if the problem seems beyond your capabilities, pay the cost, or hopefully you have a friend who can help.

My battery died without notice so I called AAA. They came and recharged my battery but did not have the replacement battery I required. This was on a late Saturday afternoon. I immediately drove to my local Pep Boys. Their service was excellent. They had the battery I needed, quickly replaced it and while doing so used a memory device so none of my radio stations and I-phone settings were lost. I was out within 20 minutes. I highly recommend using Pep Boys!

Absolutely terrible experience. My headlights burned out and needed to be replaced. I figured I'd also take care of some other small things while they were at it. They said it'd be $400 and would take 2-3 hours. I said ok because i was desperate before it got dark. After looking up costs online, I found out all of that should be under $100. So I went back 15 minutes later and asked for my keys back. They were friendly and gave them back, but when I started my car, all kinds of error lights came on. I went back in and told them. A tech came out and looked at it and said everything was fine. Except I saw through the crack on the hood that a hose was completely disconnected and he reattached it. When I called him out on it, he said he was just checking it and walked away very quickly. I started by car, but now the check engine light was on. I didn't want to go in there again, so I went to a local mechanic. He charged me $50 for everything, including fixing whatever they did.At least I found a new mechanic.Outrageous prices. Terrible service. Never again.

I had my brakes worked on a year or so back on my 2018 Lexus ES 350 at this Pepboys and then a few weeks back my son pointed out that there was a strange rattling noise. I went there a week ago and Fred the person at the front was able to trace the car to the last repair which was not trivial as we had the license plates changed after a collision. They then found that there was something wrong with the brake calipers and they fixed it for almost free because of the warranty period. Later, Martha at the front desk who is also helpful called me as I had left a wheel lock at the store. I find the front desk folks are helpful and the mechanics behind are good at their job. And, oh yes, the brake noise has disappeared!

Set an appointment the night before to get my tires rotated. Went smoothly on the website. I could not find a statement that said tire rotation is lifetime free when u purchase tires (website states free with any service) so I found my tire receipt from 2021 and brought it with me. Got there at 8am they let us in and my tech who helped me at Van Nuys location was great. Looked up my appointment and told me it would be no charge and take about 45 minutes. The Van Nuys location has been remodeled and included a large seating area with Arsenal playing on the tv and coffee! The room is so new the bathroom was not up n running so they let me use the tech facilities. 8am+Coffee =!All you can ask is for businesses to run smoothly and do so in an appropriate amount of time. Van Nuys Pep boys did that plus a little customer service was great! Lastly this location is tire service center only but next door is a full service Autoparts store where u can shop and get any needed items.

They have always been great set prices and never tried to charge for things I don't need. But in the past year or two they started trying to up sale services I don't need for example they told me I need timing belt change when my car have a timing chain or my tires are wear out when I bought them 2 months ago and that not the worst part now their employees started arguing with customers and be rude. I don't know if ownership was changed but for now they are still ok Let's see where this is going

The best service I have ever received as far as EFFECTIVE and EFFICIENT auto repair. These boys are knowledgeable and experienced. The lady at the front desk was very polite and friendly. I was on my way to Costa Rica leaving LAX and I asked if they could keep the car until I got back. They had no problem. Two days later my car was ready, they notified me, they are amazing. It made my trip. Super easy. We love them

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had my dad take my car in yesterday to get my steering looked at because it was making a clicking noise and a scraping noise for the past week. They took it out for a test drive, and the mechanic said he didn't hear anything so they did not look at my car. I asked him why wouldn't he look at my steering when I know for a fact there is something wrong. He only kept saying that he "didn't hear anything" and therefore didn't have anything to look at. I took mechanics class in highschool and built my own jeep. I know what I'm talking about when I told them to look at my steering which includes rack and pinion, control arms, and tie rods. They continued to say they didn't hear the noise that I was hearing and refused to look at my car. They turned me away as if I made the whole thing up. Today, my steering has taken a turn for the worse. But they didn't hear anything right so I must've just made everything up? Absolutely ridiculous and incredibly insulting.

I took my car in for a much needed wheel alignment. The customer service from check in until check out was excellent.George also did a great job of informing of the situation with my vehicle and all of the possible solutions I could opt for, even if it meant going to a different dealer/shop.Best experience I ve had at an auto shop.

I took my car in for an oil change and was pleasantly surprised by the service I received. The manager was super nice and even noticed I had a nail in my tire and had the mechanics take it out for me. Upon paying he even let me know that Pep Boys offered discounts and so I even was able to save money! As a girl going in for a car problem I'm happy they didn't try to upsell me and gave me exactly what I came in for. Thank you Edik and Fred !

Lazyyyy mechanic! Idk his name but he didn t know I speak Spanish and was telling his coworker that I m stupid and need to get my car out of there when I was trying to ask him a question about the leak he said I had.the guy thought the booster was leaking which was causing smoke. So they couldn t touch my brakes due to liability issues.Brought my car to a different mechanic and IMMEDIATELY he knew that the smoke was coming from the BRAKE PADS- and showed me, the visible smoke coming from the brake pad. The smoke was not coming from inside the engine where the original lazy guy said! I told him about the leak and he didnt know what I was talking about. He inspected the whole brake system and found it operating great. The main issue was air in the lines which was quick to flush out! Which is exactly what I expected!!!! The brakes were smoking because they were brand new and needed to be seasoned or cured or whatever.Anyways, horrible experience. Jake was wonderful, I just wish his coworker wouldn t talk mess about customers in Spanish assuming they don t understand. I m sure their other mechanics are trustworthy, just not this lazy guy. I wish I got his name so people would know who I m talking about :/

Be careful, they choose their targets and try to charge MUCH more than the actual price to fix. I went in for motor mount replacement, and they gave me an absurd price claiming that "the parts are expensive" and when he put down the paperwork I saw that the parts were 1/5 the labor charge. Not only that! But when the mechanic that inspected it a few days before saw me, he chuckled with his co-workers as they too turned and looked at me one by one, which immediately I knew they were gonna try and cashout on me. They only wanted to change 2 out of the 3 mounts, claiming the driver side mount was in good condition. But what they didn't know was that I was watching them inspect it from afar. And they didn't even check the driver side, probably because it was difficult to check (based off YouTube videos I saw). So I declined their services, and immediately he offered a discount, still being too high even with the "Discount" I walked off and got it inspected somewhere else and turns out my driver side mount was also broken and got all 3 mounts fixed for less than what they wanted to charge for 2/3. Never in my life coming back to a commercial repair shop. Unless you got money to waste, go to a local family owned mechanic spot instead. These people don't care about you or your wallet, you're just a number to them. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

He called every time there was an update or a possible added cost, and explained everything thoroughly and efficiently. Even threw in a much appreciated discount. Will absolutely return!

I needed new brakes & tires for my car - I conveniently made my same-day appointment on the user friendly Pep Boys website. I was happy to see that there were so many coupon savings online!. I got a great deal & fantastic service at Pep Boys Van Nuys. The mechanic, Varkin (?) and the lady at the front were friendly and helpful. My car was completed within the time frame given. I trust Pep Boys and will definitely come back!

Woman at the front desk acted like she was doing me a favor for letting me go there. didn t say thank you when I opened the door for her. Also wasn t given clear instructions for what to do. I left immediately and won t be coming back. Either biased attitude or just flat out didn t care about her job. Not from the area but typical Californian attitude and entitlement if you know what I mean
