This place was super fast and good service but if you come here with a coupon make sure to tell the person who is helping you before you check out or it ll be inconvenient to the person helping you. Also definitely check for online coupons because that s how I made my oil change go from $80 to $40

We had just had our car serviced and brought it in the next day for a test. The car failed. I felt a knot developing in my stomach thinking about all the extra work I had ahead of me going back to the car dealership, possible additional repairs, another smog check, and an expired license plate. Argh!Fortunately for me, this guy knew his stuff! He explained that there was a sensor in the car that sometime wouldn t work after a service/tuneup because it needed to have a few mile driven on it before it would register properly. He suggested driving it around for 30 minutes and bringing it back in. We ran some errands, ate at a favorite restaurant, and brought it back that same afternoon and passed with flying colors!!!We are very satisfied customers and will be bringing our cars to Smog Dog whenever they need a smog check! They definitely provide service you can trust which makes me wish they did mechanical service, too .

I recommend this place to friends for smog certification.I was met by a friendly man who introduced himself to me as "D". He ran a check on my car in a quick and efficient manner and I was out of there in less than 20 minutes.

Groupon for 35 bucks, can't beat it. An additional $8 when you show up but that's not their fault, it's something that CA adds on just because they can. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes, the tech was super friendly and they sent the results via the Interwebz, what more could you want?

Gentleman was very efficient. There was one car in front of me and he got to me within minutes of getting there. Had my car up and working on right away, and it was really hot so if hed stopped to get a drink would have totally understood, but nope, got on it and got it done quickly. Great experience. Would recommend this place.

This was my go-to place for years because I could get in and out quickly and the technician was friendly. Unfortunately, I pulled up at 9am today (on a Saturday) and they weren't open (although advertised as open at 8:30).

No appointment needed, in and out in ten mins. If you like the station, don't Groupon. He'll charge you the same price and the station gets to keep all the money. They deserve it.

It is true that he was fast. My problem is the customer service that he gave. I am re-registering my vehicle in another state and he did not put in the state the license plate was from. That made it so the online registration was not able to pull my record.I called him so that he would adjust the record and he told me that it was my fault for not telling him that I wanted it for another state. He told me he put certification type: California. He said he had done his job so he was not going to help me.I had to call a completely different shop to figure out what was going on and whether any changes needed to be made on the record by this other guy. They told me that the other state would require the certification type as California no matter what so that was no the issue. The problem was most likely because he did not put in the license state. Because of that the other state will not see it, and that portion could not be adjusted once every thing had already been put in the system. Ok, he cannot fix the problem. Fine. I should not have to tell him to fill in the most basic parts to the inspection information. He shouldn't talk that way to customers and not admit that he was skipping steps. Now I have to send from California's DMV to another DMV. I liked that he was open on Saturday so I didn't have to take work off to go and do the DMV mess. If you treat your customers like trash they will not come back.Service: Smog certification

My dad recommended this shop to me and I'm happy he did! I pulled right up into the lot and was asked for a few documents as the super friendly mechanic began the inspection. I took a seat and before I knew it, my car had passed and it was time to pay and be on my way to the dmv. My total cost out the door was only $40.00!! I told the mechanic I would be back when my husband needs to get his vehicle done. I feel everyone should go here though! You can't beat the price or the friendly service here in Vallejo!!

I have an older car so my price was higher than the usual $40, a lot of extra things have to be checked: dyno test, evac, gas cap etc.Even though he still only charged me $78 and it takes more than twice as long to do all of these things.Mention the ad on their website!

I have used Smog Dog every 2 years since moving to Vallejo 8 years ago. Always fast and easy and good price if you look up their coupon.

I used a coupon, but it was not honored, and I was told prices had gone up. I accepted the increased price and proceeded. Use the coupon on website for $58 out the door including cert fee.
