On our drive down from Reno we broke down outside of Vacaville. Fortunately, owing to numerous ValleJo family recommendations, we ended up at Gene s. Tracy and her crew were extremely busy, but fixed our truck in record time. Highly recommend Gene s Auto Repair.

A+ experience. My truck needed front axles seals which on a 3/4 ton truck with a Dana 60 is not an easy task. They were able to take on the project and get it done right even where the former owner has gone wrong.Fair labor rate and friendly service I'll be back with my other vehicular needs as they arise!

They did a good job and took us in even though they were so busy. Tracy is so professional in dealing with her client. We been going to her shop for my other vehicle repairs. I went to Gene's after a recommendation from American Canyon Collision when they couldn't help me with my car repairs. AC Collision doesn't do this type of work. I called Gene's and spoke with Tracy and thank you Lord! Tracy was great!!! She told me everything I needed to know, most dealerships and car repair places lie to women and charge them a fortune, which happened in my case with the dealership. Tracy even took time to help me contact the warranty company and get most of the repairs paid by them. Thank God for warranties and Gene's!!!! My car has been running like a kitten. Wonderful people and honest, my car loves Gene's and so do I!!!!

I've trusted my vehicles to Gene's Auto for many years, because I know that Tracy runs an HONEST shop, they do fine work and I cannot count the times that Tracy has researched some thing or another for me--at no charge.Their waiting area is very inviting: It is always immaculate; in summer, there is an air conditioner; there are always coffees, teas, and snacks; there's a very informative bulletin board; and a coffee table holds magazines and other reading material.It is clear that the owner truly cares for her clients and will bend over backwards to be of help. That doesn't mean, however, that she is a pushover. She's not!Finally, if you'd like more than just my word, consider that Gene's Auto was designated as a Diamond Certified Business (I don't recall the exact year(s), but you may view the certificate(s) at the office).In all, I feel that you cannot go wrong with Gene's Automotive. As a woman of color, I've encountered more auto mechanics than I care to remember, who would see me coming and begin plotting, how to charge me the maximum, for doing the minimum. Since Gene's is a woman-owned shop, I no longer worry about whether or not repairs are legitimate. Although prices are not on the low end of the scale, the estimates are clear, informative and precise. If additional work is needed, the customer is contacted and everything explained, before any of the work is started. Plus, their work usually carries a guarantee.I would wholeheartedly recommend Gene's without hesitation. They are definitely a five-star business!

Great experience with Gene's as to a major engine repair and also smog checks. Tracy checked with us before any engine repair work was started so we could see what was being done and where the repairs needed to be done. We were presented with a estimate for factory parts that would be used in the repair before any repair work was started. We had a delay of about a day as one part had to be shipped from back east and they had major weather problems slowing down any shipments. The work was completed on schedule after the one day delay and our vehicle has worked fine since then. They included a free checkup after a certain number of miles which was a great customer service feature. Not only a local shop but also women owned/operated. I met Tracy, I'm so sorry but don't recall the other lady's name. They resolved my issue, very professional, being super courteous. I was even offered a ride home while waiting. Will support this local shop. BTW: I used to repair and program industrial robots for a living and can tell if BS'd. Nothing here. So far my experience is great with Gene's. It may be more expensive than other shops in the area. But you pay for quality work and parts. They are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Its nice knowing I will not need to bring my trucks in for the same problem. Quality you can trust. Big Oz does a great job keeping me company.

My sister recommended Gene's, it's the only place she takes her cars. I've needed to take my car there twice now. Super friendly staff, and very quick service. Great communication, they kept me updated so I knew my car was in good hands.

Gene's has always given me consistent advice and quality service. I don't know pricing compared to others. I know service , quality and once it is fixed, it is fixed. My husband use to bring his Toyota to Genes years ago and could never say enough good things about them, so when I saw a coupon for a SMOG I called to make an appt. They said to bring it in and they could get me in right away. They Tracy was so helpful and really made me feel at ease. My car was ready in a short while and I was on my way. Thank you Gene's Auto!

My first experience at Gene's Auto Repair last year for a complete brake job on my 2010 Ford Ranger pick up, was nothing less than perfection from beginning to end. Tracy (the owner operator) and her "crew" were all courteous, knowledgeable, competent and industrious in the performance of their individual tasks within the business, not to mention competitive in their pricing. They know their market!I'm writing this review today, because . . . I had recently sought out Tracy's advice on the brakes of my wife's 2014 Infinity Q50. The Infinity dealer's service people had informed her, that the brakes were in need of a complete front replacement, as the pads were in the "RED zone", and the rear brakes were now almost through the "YELLOW zone", would soon follow. All to include expensive new "rotors". This info terrified my wife!When I called Tracy's shop, the receptionist said to come in at my convenience and they would do a close inspection of the car's brakes for me, at no charge (for a previous customer). Warmly greeted, as usual, their mechanic put the car up and proceeded with the inspection while I waited. A short time later, they showed me the results of their inspection and the brake parts in question. Their diagnosis was that the brakes' various components were all within safe factory tolerances, and should safely perform at least through the upcoming winter months, if not through next summer. Very reassuring. At least I could rest easy knowing my wife would be safe during the coming months. I asked them to quote me for a thorough brake job, and the honest answer was a range in price dependent on the actual wear on the system at the time the work is eventually done. But!!! Tracy's "price range" was significantly lower than the Infinity dealership.Gene's Auto Repair will definitely be doing the new brakes on our Q50 in the spring. There is no question that they are the go to auto repair for our family and all others that we can steer their way. Keep up the good work!p.s. My Ranger now stops on a dime . . . and gives me 9 cents change!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The owner and her daughter are delightful. The other employees are also fantastic. I got in and out with no "hitches". It was fast, friendly and very efficient. I didn't know that I needed to take some paperwork with me but it was not a problem. They uploaded the information to the right state organization and I was out of there in a flash.Their prices are also marvelous.

Gene's Auto is a great place to get your car serviced. I don't feel I am getting ripped off. They maintain my car so I don't have to worry about it. Service is always prompt and courteous. I am happy to refer all my friends there.

Tracy also does my smog checks along with whatever else I need. No plans to go anywhere for vehicle service repair. It's not easy to find a shop you can trust to do things right & be truthful. I have lived in Vallejo for the past 25 years ; and have been bringing in my car and my family's cars to Gene's Auto Repair to be serviced / repaired for at least the past 15 years . I simply would not go anywhere else . By their outstanding service ; they have kept me and my family safe on the road ; by maintaining our cars ; and keeping them running splendidly .Of equal importance to me ( if not more so ) besides the great work that they do - is their honesty . If it is not worth it to fix your car ( too expensive ; the car is too old - whatever ) - Tracy and her crackerjack staff will simply tell you so . Because I am also an older , disabled person - I rely on Gene's integrity . These folk are excellent - 'nuff said .

Hey there! Once again, Tracy Renee and her crew at Gene's Auto Repair saved my bacon! I drive my "pet" 2010 Ford Ranger XLT pretty hard, and discovered lately, thanks to her chief tech., that I was about to lose my right front wheel bearings which would have most likely resulted in a serious accident. It's just about to turn 175,000 mi. and runs great, thanks to Gene's Auto RepairSince first finding Gene's back in 2016, They have been my "go to" repair shop for even the slightest sign of trouble. I don't believe there is any make or model of any automobile made that can present a challenge that they can't meet and correct. They have proven that to me, several times now. Today, it was just a smog test, which it passed with flying colors, but now, I wouldn't take it anywhere else!I'm 73 years young now and have owned my share of cars and trucks from a '47 Willys Jeep to a 2010 4 litre Jaguar S Type sedan over the years, and most everything in between. Foreign and domestic. My only wish is that I had known Gene's Auto Repair a long time ago. I have been doing business with Gene's Auto Repair for over thirteen years, the service is excellent. The staff is friendly and personable. I have never had a problem with their service, they will not let you leave without being satisfied with the work.

The people at Genes were nice however they wanted to charge me 450 for a diagnostic. I was not sure if my car was worth fixing. After charging me 450 they called to say I needed to pay over $700 to see what the problem was because they had to take apart the engine. I ended up taking the car to another place which did a free diagnostic and let me know that the car was not worth the repairs. It should not cost $700 to find out you need to buy a new car.
